Define an image in a java scriptlet

Hello everybody,
I have created a jsp page in JDeveloper and i want to define an image inside a java Scriptlet.
Could anyone tell me how to do this thing?
Thanks in advance!

Add image to a jsp page with the <IMG/> tag.
Images may also be added with image tag library.

  • Display an Image in a Java application !

    Hi all !
Really i want to display an image in a java application , i know how to do it in applets but this method does not work in applications so please help me to do that in an application ,thanks .

it is the same way as in applets.
    1. Open a frame with awt
    2. Define an Image (like: Image a=null;)
    3. Load this Image with the Toolkit....(just look which method to use)
    4. draw this image to screen with g.drawImage(...)
Note the class drawing the image must implement ImageObserver.

  • Access database query resultset in java scriptlet

    Question:
    1) I am Creating a web page and plotting points on the page:
    2) Database query results in decimal values dec_latitude and dec_longiitude.
    3) Perform calculations on lati. & long. in a java scriptlet to create a plot position (xpos, ypos).
    4) Send the xpos and ypos back to the java server page
    5) Use <IMG and absolute positioning to plot the point at position xpos, and ypos.
    6) Repeat until all rows in the query result set have been plotted.
I don't know how to pass the dec_latitude and dec_longitude to the java scriptlet.
After the java scriptlet calculation translates the latitude and longitude
into xpos and ypos, I need to pass the xpos and ypos back to the java server page so that a data point is plotted on a map at position xpos, ypos.
I tried many ways of doing it but am just guessing as
to how to pass the data.
    Thanks in Advance. - John
Here is what I am trying so far .... see snippet below:
The code below results in a runtime error.
Am I supposed to create a java object and access that in the java scriptlet? Can the java scriptlet access the latvar and longvar created during the "<c:set var="latvar"... ?
If not, what mechanisum do I use to access the resulting colums: dec_latitude and dec_longitude? I need the java scriptlet to convert the
dec_latitude and dec_longitude into a display position based on the number of pixels from the TOP and LEFT (xpos, ypos). Then plot of the data point using the IMG and (xpos, ypos). This will overlay a map whose z-index is lower than the plotted data point.

You could encrypt them with a private key and then
decrypt them with a public key.
Almost had it... public key encryption works the other
way around... otherwise what's the point of
encrypting... if the decryption key is public?Spinoza's right. Public key encryption works both ways, but it would be useless in this case to encrypt with the private key. The problem is, how do you package your private key with the application in a way that doesn't allow the user to get it? Encrypt it? :-) I agree that there's no point to this exercize. If users want to screw up the application by editing its image files, let 'em.

  • Accesing image files in java beans

    hi all
I am developing an application which needs to access images files put in image folder in java bean file.
I tried a lot by using different methods and failed always, except in case of absolute path which I dont want to use.
My directory structure is as below
    /Web-apps
    /MyApp
    index.html
    myjsp.jsp
    /Images
    img1.png
    /WEB-INF
    /classes
    /beans
    GraphBean.java
In GraphBean.java I have the code
             ImageIcon imageIcon = null;
imageIcon = new ImageIcon("../image/img1.PNG");Cureently the path is worng and the image cant be displayed.
I want to know what path I should give to get the image img1.png.
    Thanks in advance
    Aniket

The disk file system knows nothing about the application which is asking for the file. You should always use absolute file system paths. In this case you can use ServletContext#getRealPath() to convert a relative web URL to an absolute filesystem path. Then use this in ImageIcon.

  • Problems with image field and java

Hi, i´m a beginner user of Adobe LiveCycle Designer, i create a form and i fill the text fields with a Java code, but when i try to dinamically assign a image on the image field of my form it doesn´t work, someone have any idea of whats happening or how can i manipulate the image field from Java code? thanks

Session data will only last as long as the servlet container allows. In most cases (eg Tomcat) this defaults to about 30 minutes, but can be changed. Check that the session timeout configuration in your servlet container hasn't been set to "never timeout".
Even if it had, I would have expected OutOfMemory errors rather than degrading performance. Although if the max heap size of the JVM has been set to a level higher than the RAM on the machine you could be getting excess page file usage.
This probably wouldn't put CPU utilization at 99% though.. I suspect this is a code related problem.
My best guess is one of two reasons:
    1. Somewhere in your code, or someone elses, there is a loop that never ends.
    2. There is a bug in the servlet container.
I don't know which servlet container you are using, but I have used Tomcat extensively and never seen this behaviour.
In terms of solving this problem, that's a tough one. I would try running the entire application within a profiling tool to see which threads are clogging up the processor. The Eclipse java IDE has a plugin called Eclipse Profiler which will allow you to track the utilization of code right down to the method level.
If it were me, I'd be running the entire web application with a profiler like Eclipse Profiler and waiting for it to start clogging, then see who the guilty code is.

  • Define Default Image Style option ignores Inline setting

I am writing my Vectorworks training manuals using Pages 09 which have a lot of images in them. I want all my images to be inline not floating.
I have followed the instructions in the Help to set my default image style.
I select an image, choose outline, shadows, and inline from the Inspector and then choose Define Default Image Style from the Format/Advanced menu.
All the settings EXCEPT the Inline are saved. And having to change from Floating to Inline each time is a real pain.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi vectorworks trainer
Floating Image is not an attribute of the default image style.
A way around this is to drag a folder of your images into the Media Browser.
Select the image you want in the media browser, copy and click into the text where you want the image and paste. You can also copy and paste from the desktop.
This demonstrates several elements of the poor UI design in OSX.
    1. That the obvious (drag & drop) doesn't work as expected
    2. Inserting the cursor where you want the image then going to the media browser, loses the focus in the document.
    3. The focus does not stay consistent between selection and insertion points.
    4. Dragging in text from the desktop behaves differently and does go into the insertion point.
    Peter
btw How goes with VectorWorks? We really need a drawing program to fill in the gaps in iWork. Particularly useful would be one that can save Pages' Shapes and allow drag & drop/copy & paste Shapes into Pages documents.

  • "embed" image data into java code

I have a mind that is it possible embed image file into java code?
That mean an image file information already store in java code, thus no need using the image file in run-time. Then can prevent user change other image file instead.
Do anyone try before, are there technologies required?
I just want to know is it possible or not....thanks.

technologies? The solution you are asking for is all about storing your data in static variables such as byte[][] used to build your image instance. I guess you should have a look at the different constructors of BufferedImage.
