Define printer from Apps R12

Hi
I need to define a HP printer from within the Oracle EBS.
The Apps is R12 on AIX unix.
We have configured it on OS level.
Appreciate your help.

Hi user;
Breifly you have to do:
- Setup the printer at the OS level
- Add a valid entry in the hosts file (Printer Name and the IP Address)
- Login to System Administrator responsibility
- Navigate to Install > Printer > Register
- Define a new printer by entering the Printer Name you have set in the hosts file
- Save
- Bounce the Concurrent Manager
- Submit any standard concurrent request (i.e. Active Users or Active Responsibilities) and select the printer you have defined above with number of copies = 1

Printing from apps in windows 8

When i try to print to the HP 3512, the message appears there is something wrong with the printer. But there aint nothin wrong. I can can go to my phone and print the information. Then I look up information abouth the 3512 and it states it cannot print from apps. HELP?

What version of Acrobat are you using. I had no problem with AA XI when I was testing Win8 with AA.

Windows 8.1 printing from apps

I installed Windows 8.1 and now to print from the desktop or my documents, when I go to devices and click print, a message comes up that "you can only print from apps"
My printer, D1320, prints from the web fine but not the desktop.
the app, hp AiO doesn't see my printer on the computer it's installed on.

While I look into this issue a little more, take a look and try the suggestions in this Microsoft Forum: Winows 8.1 not finding wireless printer. Says can only print from Apps.
Let me know if any thing suggested in there helps and I will keep looking on my end.

Can only print from apps

after upgrading to window 8.1 from 8 I can only print from apps I have deleted and reinstalled the printer I have done HP trouble shooting still cant fix

Uninstalling the Printer Software.Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.Disable any Antivirus programs. Disable Antivirus software.Disable any firewall programs. Windows Firewall from start to finish.Create a new user account. Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8).Reinstall using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows. We will see what happens! I would like to assist you today with resolving your printing issue of only being able to print from apps from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Officejet Pro 6230 ePrinter.
To ensure that everything is installed and loaded correctly for your printer drivers and software can you please run the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This Tool will run on your computer and 'fix printing' issues for you. Should any connection, software or driver conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor will identify and resolve those issues.

Printing problems Desket 3520 - says i can only print from apps

So frustrating.
Since upgrading to Window 8.1 I have nothing but print problems, despite unistalling and reinstalling. Now when I try to print,when I click on the print icon (that comes up from the swipe side bar) i get a message saying I can only print from apps. So I have been unable to print word docs etc of any kind. The printer works fine from my iphone and ipad and the laptop can see the printer wirelessly and connects to it - BUT IT WONT PRINT!! I've had to resort to emailing the docs to myself to print from my ipad - ridiculous!
WHAT is happening HP? I use an HP laptop and HP printer for a REASON, compatibilty. NOT SO since the update.
Please can someone send me an easy fix for this frustrating problem. 'Ive tried everything and I'm fairly computer savvy.

Hey there @lissim09 welcome to the forums
I am not quite sure why your Windows 8.1 is not printing to your Deskjet 3520 however, I have some ideas to try and find out and hopefully get it printing for you. The printer is working with other devices, which shows us the printer itself is alright.
Run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Please send me the results.
Also try a Clean Boot, restart the PC and try a print again. This will turn off all start up programs running on your PC, in the case there is something running that is blocking the printer from printing, this should bypass it. Also disable your firewall temporarily.
Try printing from two programs afterwards.
Also include how you have the printer connected to the PC (wireless, ethernet, usb).

Missing Left line on all the invoices when printing from APPS

Hi Guys,
I need help here as i am learning XML. I customized one of my invoices RTF template and looks fine. When i generate the Invoice output from Apps through concurrent manager I am getting output with missing left line. When i tried to print from View Output its printing fine.
Is anyone came across this? Please let me know if anybody has solution.

When you hit Print, is the dialog that comes up really small? If so, there's a triangle you can hit to the right of the Printer menu in the dialog that'll expand it to full size. This was something Apple added in 10.5 to simplify printing, but it's caused a lot of confusion.
If that's not it, are any of the menu items in the middle menu (the one that starts out saying "Layout") crossed out? If so, you're probably running in 64 bit mode and the printer driver probably does not work in 64 bit. If you're using the latest driver, then try launching Lightroom in 32 bit mode (in the Finder, do Get Info on the application and check Open in 32 Bit Mode).
If neither of those work, let me know.

8.1 upgrade and lost wireless print from apps

system kept telling me to upgrade to 8.1 on my 1 year old amd hp so i did but did not have a system restore scedual and did not make a restore disk (stupid me ). i am not pleased with all the changes made but i could make due except i can no longer print to my wireless hp photosmart 5225 printer. i have uninstalled and reinstalled and in hp print dr it ffails first test but works on second so it says there is a software problem to uninstall and reinstall . i'm lost

I see by your post that you aren't able to print wirelessly since upgrading to Windows 8.1.
I can help you with this issue.
Is this the Photosmart 5525? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IP address.
Printing a Network Configuration Page.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
Power cycle the router, computer and printer.
Try printing again.
If you are still unable to print, then run the add printer wizard.
From the start up screen, (tiles menu) type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printer,
click on add a printer.
Test the printer.
If the issue persists then uninstall the printer software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
I would disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software to see if that is causing the issue. How To Change Windows 8′s Startup Programs. Click on the start up tab disable all the programs running.
Then download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Test the printer.
Then you will need to go back in and enable the start up programs and turn the Antivirus Software back on again.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.

How to do get a print from apps- only get sample preview right now

I am trying to print the blank disney pages and sudoku puzzles, but right now I only get sample previews

Printing from Apps 11i onto a LPT port dedicated printer

Anyone out there got a solution or an idea on how I can get one.

I haven't tried it with the parallel port but I have controlled a remote serial port and a remote instrument and in theory a parallel port should work the same. VISA has support for remote systems. Install MAX on the remote computer. Select from the menu, NI-VISA>VISA Options. Click on the Security tab and you can add computers that can remotely access it's VISA resources. On the computer that you want to do the remote control from, start MAX and from the menu select Tools>Find Remote Systems. The remote system should be found with no problem if its on the same local subnet. The remote port or instrument can then controlled by VISA just like a local resource except in the resource name you prefix the network path. The syntax is something like Visa://comp
uter_name//ASRL10::INSTR.

Printing from ipad too large on p1102w

All my printing from the IPad print out too large compared to the print from my Win7 PC.
E.g. If I print an email from my WIn 7 PC to the HP P1102w result normal - 1 page.
The same email printed from my Ipad to the P1102w prints a much larger font and runs to two pages.
Any ideas how to rectify this?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you are having to different out comes of print when using the P1102w, the Windows computer and iPad will print out the same email very differently.
What method are you printing to the P1102w with, ePrint (forwarding the email to the printers email), AirPrint (iPad's printing method) or the ePrint Mobile App?
When printing from Apps or Mobile devices, the printer is not in control of the print outs, the App controls that. With AirPrint and ePrint, I do not believe this is an option that can be adjusted. From the ePrint Mobile App there are more options to set, a re-size option I am not sure however.

Unable to print from internet since downloading Windows 8.1

Ever since downloading Windows 8.1, I get the message "you're only able to print from apps" when trying to print an item from the internet.

Printer Problem in Linux 5.3 & Apps(R12)

Hi,
I have the following Dot Matrix Printers.
Lexmark 2500 Forms Series Dot Matrix Printer
Epson LQ680
Sedco Magna Line Printer
Sedco Ultima 50+
Among them some of them are Nework and some of them are Windows printers(attached to windows Xp machines).
I need to define them in Linux First i used connectio type ipp & LPD/LPR for defining prineters.
As i didnt find drivers for Lexmark 2500 in the system. So,i used Generic option and select Epson Esc/p printer Type and Footmatic drivers type.
when i printed a tes print it is priniting but not as good as when printed from windows Xp machine.
I registered it in apps. i checked by priniting active users report but it is totally making the setting out. and even the characters are not appropriate.
Please help me to solve the problem
All the printers are non-postscript one.
I need your valuable advise.
Please explain the procedure....

My new printer is apple AirPrint compatible . All devices on on one remote. How do I print from iPad. What print app should I download. Any and all help appreciated

I do not know how to sync my iPad with my new canon airplay compatible printer. They are both on the same remote server. What app is best to download? What do I do after that?

If your printer is AirPrint compatible and you printer and iPad are on the same WiFi network, all that you have to do is to tap on the arrow icon in any app that you can print from and select Print from the window that pops up and this will pop up.
You do not need additional software.
