Defining Text variable

Hi  all,
Can any one plz guide me the processing type to be selected in the following requirement.
I've 2 versions A & B which are user entry enabled (mandatory fields) and i am using them in the CKF. In the CKF amount version A should be displayed if user enters Version A eg 01 and amount Version B if user enters Version B eg 11 in the Version B vairable entry.
So I feel that the user entry for version A & B should be captured and assigned to the CKF and I can go for replacement path. but in the replace ment path my text variables should be replaced with the user entry variables.
Can any one letme know how to do this.
Regards
Madhavi
My Aim is to replace text varaible with a charactestic variable i.e the user what ever enters in the selection criteria that should be assigned to the KF.

create two more variables for your text and make them user entry also and use replacement path to populate them.

  • Text variables for non-input ready variables

    I have a query with a structure in the Rows section.  The row structure contains three selections for different time periods.  Two of the time periods are based on non-input ready variables for Calendar Month.  The user will enter a calendar month and the other two selections will be based on the month that was inputted.  Since the time periods are dynamic, I need the text in the rows to reflect the appropriate Cal. Month value.  I have tried using a customer exit to define text variables but they are not working.  My text variables are called "CMON_TXT_D01" and "CMON_TXT_D02".  If the user selects 'Dec. 2010', the report would look like this
    Dec. 2010  => user inputs this value
    &CMON_TXT_D01&  => customer exit calculates -1 month back from inputted value
    &CMON_TXT_D01&  => customer exit calculates -2 month back from inputted value
    I need it to look like this if the inputted value was 'Dec. 2010'
    Dec. 2010
    Nov. 2010
    Oct. 2010
    I can get the text variable based on the input-ready variable to work but the two selections that are based on the non-input ready variables are not working.  Does anyone know how to get the text variables to work for the non-inpjut ready variables?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I would do it this way;
    1) Create a Row Structure
    5) Create a Text Var whose processing is by Replacement Path & choose Variable with the User Input Var under Replacement Path options
    6) Edit the Description of each of the 3 Row Selections to contain the Text Var in (5)
    7) The Text Var should automatically reflect the User Input selection & the offsets defined on the same in the Row Selection Captions

  • Get value of formula variable during query runtime into a text variable

    Hi all,
    I wanna get the value of the formula variables during the query runtime into a text variable.
    My scenario is like this: First I defined a formula variable Z_DATE_3 which is processing by replacement. It will get the day of a characteristcs(Startdate).
    Then I defined a text variable and in the function module related to this text variable, I used the parameter I_T_VAR_RANGE which can store the value of formula variable during the query runtime.So I can read the value from this table in my function module.
    But I have a issue, when I run the query which used the defined text variable, it seems that it doesn't call the corresponding function module. Because I set a breadpoint in hte code and it never reach this breakpoint.
    If I removed the parameter I_T_VAR_RANGE , it can enter the function module.
    So could you please give some advice?
    Is my solution correct or not?
    And what's wrong with the parameter I_T_VAR_RANGE? Did I use it correctly?
    And My code is:
    DATA:  l_s_range_v TYPE rrrangeexit,
                 l_day type sy-datum.
    if i_step <> 2.
    raise no_processing.
    endif.
      READ TABLE i_t_var_range INTO l_s_range_v
         WITH KEY  vnam = 'Z_DATE_3'.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
         l_day = l_s_range_v-low.
    endif.
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards
    Fanchest

    Hi, Fanchest,
    I'm having just the same issue.  Did you find a solution?
    I wrote a short routine in CMOD to derive the value of a formula variable to a text variable, but it's not working (I don't get any value).  Can you share your solution?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Defining text and integer variables??

    I found this in some code:
    var num = 0, txt = "bo";
    I guess it could also have been written as:
    var num = 0,
    txt = "bo";
    Why is it allowed to define an integer by just using "," and when you define a text variable you use ";"

    The code you are looking at would be javascript, not java.
    Despite the name, the two are definitely NOT the same thing.
    Why is it allowed to define an integer by just using "," and when you define a text
    variable you use ";" You are misunderstanding the syntax.
    The semicolon ';' completes a statement
    the comma was just separating multiple variable declarations on the same line.
    It could just as easily have been
    var txt="bo", num=0;
    var a=42, b=69, c=666;
    Just to reiterate this is NOT valid java code. Java does not use the "var" keyword.
    It is javascript, which means it can do pretty much whatever it likes ;-)

  • 0FISCPER text variable "External Characteristic Value Key" has changed

    Hello!
    Could somebody help and tell, why in BI7.0 version (but 3.x RRMX version) the format of the 0FISCPER text variable (also other time characteristics) has changed from 001.2007 (version 3.x) to 0/1  .0700 (version 7.0)?
    I cannot understand the logic of the new Exterternal characteristic calue key. What can I do about it?
    Thanks for your help, gurus!
    BR, Auli Peltola

    I figured out myself the reason for the problem: in the new version the fiscal year variant has to be defined in report so that the 0FISCPER would work.

  • Complex Sap text variable in WEBI with replacement path

    Hi Gurus,
    Variables in Bex
    Present Fiscal Qtr : 2012Q4
    Fiscal Qtr-8    :        2010Q4
    My Output header(TEXT)  in Bex as follows.
    2010Q4_ ACT     2011Q1_ ACT     2011Q2_ ACT     2011Q3_ ACT     2011Q4_ ACT
    2012Q1_ ACT     2012Q2_ ACT     2012Q3_ ACT     2012Q4 BOQ     2012Q4CONS
    2012Q4_ACT      2013Q1 BOQ     2013Q1CONS
    It's Completly working in Bex. I have used text variable and used replacement path to calculate the above texts.
    WEBI : Even though the document from SAP says that the variables will work when it's derived through replacement path,
    it's not working.
    Question1 :
    How can i achive this in webi . I saw some of the posts in SDN . They suggested to use 'USER RESPONSE' command.
    Question 2 :
    Assume we are using USER RESPONCE , when the current QTR = 2013Q1 . How can we  derive the previous 8 Qtr 's , because
    every Qtr the values are changing .

    Hi,
    In which way is it not working?  What's your SP and Patch level ?
    the webi pre-defined cell you are enquiring about is  either =PromptSummary()   or =UserResponse()

  • In the filter the value of text variable is not shown, only technical name.

    Hi All,
    We have some odd behavior of text variables in the filter screen of key-figures.
    After entering values in the variable screen, the report is executed.
    Within the report all text variables are filled, with the values entered in the variable screen.
    I say all, because we use both sap standard variables &0T_FPER& as customer specific &ZFSCYR&.
    When i want to change the key figures showned, i press the filter icon for key-figures (BW 3.5)
    In the list shown: existing filtervalues, the textvariables of SAP standard are filled with the value entered in the variable screen. However the customer specific is shown with the technical name (&ZFSCYR&) and not the value.
    Has anyone experience with this behavior or even better a solution to prevent this?
    As allways, each usefull answer points assigned!
    Regards,
    René

    Hi Rene,
    If ur custom text variable is not getting populated then you need to check out the code that u have written in there in CMOD for this and ofcourse if ur using this text variable after report execution then it will definately be in i_step 2.
    So best way is to debug your code and check that using code RSRT.
    Thanks

  • Date format in Bex Output should be changed while using with Text Variable

    I am using a Bex Query where have defined a Text Variable with replacement path. So whatever Date user enters in the selection screen variable (Input Variable) the same date appears in the report description.
    For Ex: If user enters 30.04.2012 in Char Variable/Input Variable before executing the report, so once he executes the report the same date appears on report description like "ABC Analysis as on 20120430". Is also changes the report description whenever user changes the date in selection screen variable.
    My requirement is......Date format should be come as 30.04.2012 (DD.MM.YYYY) instead of 20120430 (YYYYMMDD) in report description.
    Guys could you please help me out to achieve the desired output.
    Rgds,
    Ritu

    Please check if you have selected Replace with Key in that text variable.
    Instead of that select External characteristic value key.
    This should help you in giving the desired output.

    Hi Stefania,
    to me it looks like your local variable num_mese is not defined with the correct data type.
    Try to change
    if num_mese = 09 to if num_mese = <b>'</b>09<b>'</b>,
    same for 10 -> '10', 11 -> '11'.
    If that does not help please let me know your coding where you define the type of num_mese (DATA statement).

  • Text Variable Date

    Hey all,
    a similar unanswered tread had been made a while ago:
    Is it possible to define a plus X value to a defined text (date) variable entry?
    Lets say I have defined a variable with output date and want the field to show the date of tomorrow. Is there a formula to add +1 (or any number) to the Date Format Field in the Creation Date, Modification Date or Output Date definition?
    thx
    regards

    I don't know of any way to add a variable for tomorrow, but you can trick the system by setting the clock ahead one day. :)

  • About Replacement Path, Text Variables & Cusomer Exit?

    Hi
    Please explain along with examples youwhen we use Replacement Path
                                                   Text Variables and
                                                   Customer Exit
    Please search the forum before posting a thread
    Edited by: Pravender on Apr 18, 2011 3:48 PM

    Hi,
    1. Customer EXIT :
    Business Scenario:
    The business department wants to check if the orders from the customers for a  certain week (e.g. 6 weeks from now) are already transmitted into their system. Therefore they run a report with a variable, that is calculated automatically.
    Note: Of course this is not the only suitable solution, but it will show you how the exit works.
    Step by Step Solution:
    A.You should create a variable on the info object 0CALWEEK like this:
     1.Technical Name: WS_FWEEK
    2.Description: Workshop Future Week
    3 Interval
    5.Mandatory variable entry
    6.Processing: Customer Exit
    7.NOT ready for input
    B.Call transaction CMOD for the definition of the customer exit.
    C.Create a new project, maintain the short text and assign a development class.
    D.Go to Enhancement Assignments and assign RSR00001. Press the button components to continue.
    E.Double-click on EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001.
    F.For documentation place the cursor an RSR00001 and use the menu GoTo => Display documentation.
    G.Then double-click on ZXRSRU01.
    H. If the include does not exist, you have to create it; assign a development class and a transport request
    Enter this code:
    INCLUDE ZXRSRU01                                        *
      data: l_idx like sy-tabix,
            workdate(8) type d,
            futureweek(6) type c.
      DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RAGESID.
    case I_vnam.
    when u2018WS_FWEEKu2019.
    if i_step = 2          u201C after pop-up
    Calculate Current day plus 6 weeks:
      workdate = sy-datum  + 42 .
    Calculate the week of this day
      CALL FUNCTION 'DATE_GET_WEEK'
        EXPORTING
          DATE               = workdate
        IMPORTING
         WEEK               = futureweek
    EXCEPTIONS
      DATE_INVALID       = 1
      OTHERS             = 2
      IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
            WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
      ENDIF.
      l_s_range-low = futureweek.
    l_s_range-high =
      l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
      l_s_range-option = 'EQ'.
      append l_s_range to l_t_range.
      p_subrc = 0.
    ENDIF.
    ENDCASE.
    I.Save and activate the codie
    J.Activate the project. (Very important!)
    K. Define a query using the above created variable.
    L.For displaying the variable values in the executed query you also may define two text variables. These should, if necessary, be able to show the lower and the upper value calculated by the customer exit.
    2 Replacement Path :
    Example for filling variable values depending on an other variable /
    Deriving one variable value from another variable
    Business scenario.
    A query should show in one column the value for one period. The period should be entered by the user. In the second column the accumulated vale from the beginning of the year to the period of the first column should be displayed. The InfoCube contains only the InfoObject 0CALMONTH (Month/Year) and not single InfoObjects for period and year.
    Solution:
    For this scenario we need four variables: two variables for the column text and two variables for the period values. One of these period variables is defined as a variable with a customer exit
    Step by Step Solution:
    Create an input variable u201CMONTHu201D (you need this specific information for the coding example below). The variable is based on the InfoObject 0CALMONTH. Set the following attributes:
    Single Value
    Ready for input
    Mandatory variable entry
    Create a variable  u201CCUMMONTHu201D (you need this specific information for the coding example below) with a customer exit as a processing type. The variable is based on the InfoObject 0CALMONTH. Set the following attributes:
    Interval
    NOT ready for input!
    Mandatory variable entry
    Create two text variables. Both variables use the u201CReplacement Pathu201D as processing type. The first text variable is filled with the text from the u201Cfrom valueu201D. The second is filled with the text from the u201Cto valueu201D.
    Enter this code
    INCLUDE ZXRSRU01                                        *
    DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RAGESID.
    DATA: LOC_VAR_RANGE LIKE RRRANGEEXIT.
    case I_vnam.
    when u2018CUMMONTHu2019.
    if i_step = 2          u201C after pop-up
    LOOP AT I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE
              WHERE VNAM = u2018MONTHu2019.
         CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
    l_t_range-low = loc_var_range(4).  u201Cgetting current year
    l_t_range-low+4(2) = u201801u2019 u201Csetting 1st period in cur. year
    l_t_range-high = loc_var_range-low u201Chigh value=input value
    l_t_range-sign = 'I'.
    l_t_range-option = 'BT'.
    append l_s_range to e_t_range.
    exit.
    endloop.
    endif.
    endcase.
    Save and activate the code.
    Activate the project.
    Define a query containing all the variables.

  • Setting & Reading In Text Variables

    Hello, can anyone tell me why my dynamic text box, instance
    name = "body_txt", displays the undefined? I have a .txt file with
    variables, &law1, &law2, etc... I want to set my variable
    "body_text_var" from buttons and only show the specific text
    variable content, i.e. &law1.
    I think this should be working but is not.... Thanks, Ed
    stop();
    var body_text_var:String;
    if (body_text_var == undefined) {
    body_text_var = "law1";
    //// director text
    fileData = new LoadVars();
    fileData.onLoad = function(success) {
    if (success) {
    trace("Loading History Data OK!");
    //// history text
    body_txt.htmlText = fileData.body_text_var;
    trace(body_text_var);
    } else {
    trace("Loading History Error!");
    fileData.load("timeline/law.txt");

    Doh on reading it a bit closer I see something else as well.
    body_text_var is defined probably on the _root timeline or
    some such in that case you need to do two things access the value
    of body_text_var and then retrieve the appropriate value from the
    LoadVars
    So something like this:
    body_txt.htmlText=this[_root.body_text_var]
    This is what is refered to as array notation. That says look
    on the _root level for the variable/property called body_text_var
    and then use the value of that to look within "this" object for a
    varialbe/property with the same name and finally assign that to
    body_txt's htmlText property. And again "this" in this case is the
    LoadVars object..

  • Loading defining global variables?

    Hello all!
    I have a project that is an online presentation, which I (being no pro in codeing) create in Edge and Muse. I create the animation in Edge, publish it as OAM and place it into the muse site/page. Master looks fine and I am happy with it.
    My problem, that I have to solve, is that it has to be translated into 44 Languages and kept updated regularly, which is near to impossible without using external data source.
    I thought to create an XML file for each language and use it for text and maybe Image content. I can use an xml file for a specific animation, but at my current knowledge level i!Il have to define the variables and the source of content for each and every animation/object.
    What I would like to see is that if you land on the Index page, you can choose the preferred language, and all the content appeares in the given language. For that (my best guess) I'll have to define global variables, which do not lose their value i.e.: which is my preferred language.
    How do I do that? Had anyone a similar issue? Also, how do I use external data in Muse?
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Here it is :
    In the Stage > document.compositionReady event handler, we define a JavaScript object LANG containing
    • a property flag that is the state of the displayed flag (in the example file, symbol drapeau, french for flag) ;
    • a function switchLang executed each time the flag is clicked, to refresh the content of
    - the three titles (b1A_tit, b1B_tit, b1C_tit) by  assigning hard-coded values,
    - the three texts (b1A_txt, b1B_txt, b1C_txt) by loading HTML snippets files in a text folder.
    LANG =
      flag: 'NL',
      switchLang: function()
        sym.getSymbol('bandeauH').getSymbol('drapeau').stop( LANG.flag);

    The drapeau > click event handler is a single call to LANG.switchLang();
