  • How can I o create, modify or delete users using OIM 11g web services?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to create, modify or delete users using OIM 11g web services.
    The end users will be signing on to the online application, a user interface to request ids online. The user interface is the home grown application to request ids.
    I want to integrate this user interface with OIM 11g. I generated the java classes using the out of the box wsdl file as mentioned in the Developer’s Guide for Oracle Identity Manager 11g. But I need to know how to create users using web server client from a given wsdl file? Is there a sample web service client program to create a user in OIM?
    If you know of any document which I can follow or if you can give any details I really appreciate.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Viraf

    Hi Chong,
    Were you able to figure out the approach? I am facing the same issue like this. I have created a web service where the input values are no. of days to extend user's end date and user's employee ID. Output will be true or false. But I am getting error while searching user in OIM DB. I think my web service is not to query OIM DB
    Please let me know if you have worked on this senario.
    Thanks,
    Kalpana.

    You have posted to the iTunes Match forum, which your question is not related to. I suggest you contact the web site from whom you wish to purchase the subscription.

  • Should ADF tables created for Toplink or Web Services behave the same?

    In JDev 11g TP3, When you drag the collection data control onto a JSF, should the read only tables created from either Toplink objects or Web Service Data Controls look and behave the same? I am not able to get tables created with Web Service Data Controls to work the same as those shown in tutorials or examples.
    Thanks,
    Al

    Not so sure, 11G does seem to generate all of the controls for the response elements, even those that have nested complex types such as the one enclosed. Used the 11G TP3 Web Service Data Control wizard and all of the nested controls showed up. BUT, when dropped onto a JSF, they do not work the same as the tutorials and examples. So, I'm either doing something wrong or the controls are not working properly.
    Should I not use the 11G WSDC and just follow your example in complex return types? Or are there other steps or settings in the 11G WSDC that I need to discover (they're not documented) in order to make ADF tables work with the 11G WSDC? If so, can you help?

  • How do I create a "document-centric" Web Service?

    By document-centric I'm talking about receiving a SOAP message on the server-side, where the initial parsing and security processing (this aspect is very important) is performed but then allowing the developer to access the delivered "payload", i.e. the XML, and perform whatever mapping/processing that is required without automatically mapping to the "standard" auto-generated Java objects.
    It is important that the client receives the "full" complex WSDL and can therefore generate their proxy classes with whatever tool (or language) that is appropriate.
    On the server side we do not want to create hundreds (if not thousands) of Java Bean clases as we already have the legacy code to map XML to Java. The idea is that JAX-RPC only instantiates the SOAPElements that represent the "raw" message, or, if possible, doesn't instantiate any objects whatsoever.
    I've spent many days now trying to find a single well-worked example for this type of Web Service without success - many, many references of the style "..and you can then create a document style web service.." but without the all important "how".
    From what I've read a custom type-mapping and/or serializer/deserializer could be the answer but again no good, solid examples are forthcoming.
    Another alternative seems to be to create the server side stub-classes using a "dummy" WSDL with the elements set to "anyType" but then distribute the "genuine" WSDL to the clients - we've got a simple example of the kind working but I don't like the idea of "tricking" the system in this way.
    I'm working with WASD 5.1, which in theory conforms with JAX-RPC so any ideas offered here should also apply in that environment.
    Has ANYONE successfully created a service of this type?
    Any help with this issue would be very much appreciated and rewarded (with Duke Dollars of course).
    Chris.

    Chris,
    I too noticed that most vendors take the RPC centric approach. Its because most of the industry examples of how WSs were used were simple enough to implement using RPC and anything more (document literal) would add to the complexity of implementation. This is something that is feared by many developers, especialy the .Net crowd who seem to want everything done through a wizard menu interface and don't care about other WS implementations at all.
    This is sort of changing. J2EE 1.4 is WS-I compliant, so when you compile server side ties from WSDL you can specify a document literal option and WS-I compliance. This gives you access to the SOAPElement objects. There's still issues with going between W3C DOM and SOAP elements but that's just API inconvenience, not a show stopper. As the inudustry develops more complex WSs we will see the vendors change their tools to better support this...
    Anyway, some more help...
    I use the the following wscompile options to build from WSDL for document literal WSs.
    wscompile.bat -d . -nd . -s . -f:documentliteral -f:wsi -keep -model model.gz -import config.xml
    wscompile.bat -d . -nd . -s . -f:documentliteral -f:wsi -keep -model model.gz -gen:server config.xml
    My "wrapper" elements look like this...
    <xs:element name="AComplexXMLResponse">
         <xs:complexType>
              <xs:sequence>
                   <xs:element ref="myNS:MYComplexXMLType"/>
              </xs:sequence>
         </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    If I do this:
    <xs:element name="ASimpleXMLResponse">
         <xs:complexType>
              <xs:sequence>
                   <xs:element name="AName" type="xs:string"/>
              </xs:sequence>
         </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    I still get the JAXRPC language bindings to a string, but in my case I don't really care. This may well be different for you.
    What I do to manage these elements is to split up the WSDL, WS wrapper element definitions and actual data XML schema definitions into separate documents. This means I have a WSDL which IMPORTS my message schema (this is where I define wrappers for in and out XML) which INCLUDES the actual DATA XML schema that I have.
    The WSDL import looks like this:
    <types>
         <xs:schema>
              <xs:import namespace="http://schemaURI" schemaLocation="./relativePath/WrapperElementSchema.xsd"/>
         </xs:schema>
    </types>
    The wrapper element schema has:
    <xs:include schemaLocation="./ActualDataSchema.xsd"/>
    This way I can easily replace the wrapper documents with just anyType references if something doesn want to play nice. The data schema file and the WSDL stay the same. This minimises the impact on what you have to change in your distribution. This is important as the WSDL is often generated on the fly by your WS environment and so can not be easily changed once you build your WSs, but the schema files it references are easily changed without affecting your code.
    Another reason for the wrapper elements was a JWSDP 1.2 issue (I don't know if this has been fixed in 1.3), where if you had the same method parameter signature in a web service (the parameters it took were the same XML types, for instance if you have an add and update methods for the same document input) JWSDP would get confused at runtime. It did not take account of the SOAP action that came along with the request to determine which operation to call. It just took the incoming XML, saw that it was of a certain type and it passed it to the first operation that took this element, which is VERY wrong. By using the wrapper elements, I could give all my input and output elements for each method different names (I used a naming stragegy that appended a 'request' or 'response' string to the method name to form a method parameter element name. This is a pain in the ass, but works and does wonders for interoperability with other WS vendors. Like I said before, I've got this working with JWSDP, BEA and .Net servers and clients.
    Hope this helps,
    If you think there is a real need for a public HOWTO on this, I could write one with a full step by step guideline that shows where I broke my legs getting this stuff to work. But this would eat into my sleep time :-/ TO JUDGE INTEREST I call on all people interested in a tutorial to respond to this thread (esp people involved with the JWSDP WS tutorial documentation). If I get 5 or more different people responding I will loose some sleep for the good of this community. Otherwise, I will just try to help you when I have time to read the forums.

  • How can I create a query with web service data control?

    I need to create a query with web service data control, in WSDL, it's query operation, there is a parameter message with the possible query criteria and a return message contains the results. I googled, but cannot find anything on the query with web service. I cannot find a "Named Criteria" in web service data control like normal data control. In Shay's blog, I saw the topics on update with web service data control. How can I create a query with web service data control? Thanks.

  • Creating simple chain of web services

    Hello.
    My version of WLS is 8.4.
    What I describe is easy to do with Weblogic Workshop, but not Weblogic Server.
    What I want to do is the following:
    1. Create and deploy very simple web service WS1.
    2. Create and deploy another web service WS2 that calls a web operation of WS1.
    3. Create and deploy another web service WS3 that calls a web operation of WS2.
    etc.
    In Workship it is easy to do as one can add a web reference to each other web service in the chain.
    What is the most straightforward way to do that sort of thing with Weblogic Server?
    I'd appreciate it if you could answer to [email protected] as well as posting here.

    Hi,
    Yes, you are right, this is very simple in WLW, unfortunately in WLS, one way of doing this by running the clientgen utility for each service and wrapping that call within an ejb. Not very clean, but will help you get the job done.

    hope this helps.

    Test if you can access the generic WSDL using a browser
    http://server:port/orawsv?wsdlYou should get prompted for a username and password. If you provide the username and password of a database user who was been granted the Web Services Roles you should see the query service WSDL

  • Create a schema from web service in eclipse

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to export some data out of SF to an 3rd party via a web service. In the webUI I have the possibility(Attachment 1) to create a schema from web service so my outgoing file matches the requirements. In Eclipse I cannot find that option and I'm encoutering some errors (attachement 2).
    Can anyone tell me if there is a possibility like the web UI in eclipse?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can create a portal service which can access KM to create a folder and then expose this portal service as Web Services.

  • SQL 2012 R2 - SSRS with the Report Server Web Service URL, can't access

    Hello:
    I am installing Dynamics CRM 2013.  When I am on RS Configuration manager; I am running into the SSRS (SQL 2012 on Server 2012)SQL issue, can't access the
    http://servername/:80/ReportsServer or
    http://servername/:Reports web pages
    The database server has SSRS native mode installed, it is using a domain account for the service credentials.  This account also has permission to log on a service in the GPO
    Account is a domain admin and is a local administrator
    SQL server is 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2012.  User base is less than 60 people and they have SharePoint 13 on the same SQL server.  Server more than enough resources.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks..Dan

    Hi DCas1,
    According to your description, you could not access
    http://servername/:80/ReportsServer or http://servername/:Reports web pages from Reporting Services configuration manager, SSRS in configured in native mode and the account you used is a local administrator.
    In Reporting Services, URLs are used to access the Report Server Web service and Report Manager. Before we can use either application, we need to configure at least one URL each for the Web service and Report Manager. If we are using the Reporting Services
    Configuration tool to create or modify the URLs, we can accept the default values for a URL or specify custom values. When we create a report server URL, we must specify the following parts: Host name, port and Virtual directory. In order to improve the efficiency
    of troubleshooting, I need to ask several questions:
    Since the default URL is http://<computername>/reportserver, did you type the URLs manually? or the URLs configured in Reporting Services configuration manager are
    http://servername/:80/ReportServer and
    http://servername/:Reports?
    Could you provide detailed information of error log(default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles)?
    For more information about Configuring a URL, please refer to the following documents:

    I actually ran into this myself- as Pat notes, it's hard to say without seeing log files, but I think that perhaps the default domain profile that the Endeca Server uses for domains created using Provisioning services has not been created.  First see what domain profiles exist.  Navigate to wherever endeca-cmd lives (e.g., user_projects/domains/endeca_server_domain/EndecaServer/bin), and use the list-dd-profile command:
    -bash-3.2$ ./endeca-cmd.sh list-dd-profiles
    The profiles that exist will be returned in your terminal window:
    prov_dd_profile
    default
    If you only see 'default', then you will need to create 'prov_dd_profile'
    ./endeca-cmd.sh put-dd-profile prov_dd_profile
    Then try uploading your file again in Studio.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi
    We have already registered the application server and Database in the connections navigator.In the Application server,we have created different domains.
    We used to deploy the bpel process to particular domain in the appplication server.
    But for the web services,when we deply the web service, we were getting only the application server name,how can we deploy our process to external oc4j(Application server)?

  • Manage the response of Web Service in case of Fault

    Hi,
    invoking the adapter HTTA, the Web Service send a response. B1i manage only the failure of adapter HTTA, but not the response of Web Service. If you want use the PostProcessing BizFlow correctly, i need to manage the response for check the presence of node Fault.
    This is the generic code for check this:

  • How do I set up Mozilla to accept connections on port "The World Wide Web service (HTTP)"?

    When attempting to embed a video in PowerPoint 2013, the message "Sorry we are having some temporary service issues" appears.
    In researching the problem at Microsoft. com, the following message was received: Mozilla is not set up to accept connections on port "The World Wide Web service (HTTP)."

    Hmm... PowerPoint should use Windows to connect to the internet and not Firefox.
    Which method are you using?
    (1) Insert > Video > Online Video
    Apparently there was an update this month that enables this, as described in this support post (see top Answer just after the question): [http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-powerpoint/embedding-online-you-tube-video-in-powerpoint-2013/0bc00dde-420c-4c6a-bd47-3fb105ce40fc Embedding online you tube video in powerpoint 2013 - Microsoft Community]
    Here's how it should work after the update: [http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/insert-or-link-to-a-video-on-youtube-HA104192855.aspx Insert or link to a video on YouTube - PowerPoint]
    (2) Developer > More Controls > Shockwave Flash Object
    As documented on other sites, such as: https://www2.palomar.edu/pages/atrc/2013/09/17/how-to-embed-youtube-video-in-powerpoint-2013/

  • In Java EE 7's Firstcup tutorial, why does does the web tier consume the data from the dukes-age web service?

    In the Firstcup tutorial, the responsibilities of the web tier are listed as:
    dynamically generate content for the client
    collect input from the user
    return results from business tier components
    control the flow of client screens & pages
    maintain session state
    perform basic logic
    hold data temporarily in JavaBeans components
    Which of these responsibilities would retrieving data from a web service fall under?
    The tutorial also lists the technologies used in the web tier, and JAX-RS is not included in that list. The list of technologies used by the business tier does, however, list JAX-RS. I was surprised to find the DukesBDay JavaBeans component (in the web tier) calling the dukes-age web service, instead of the DukesBirthdayBean EnterpriseBean (in the business tier), which uses hard coded value for Duke's birth date.
    Is it typical for the web tier to consume web services in this way? What about when using an application client container, wouldn't that skip the web tier altogether, and in doing so also skip the web service call? Wouldn't DukesBirthdayBean in the business tier benefit from making the call to the web service, instead of having the date hard coded into it, and wouldn't this also solve the problem of the missing web service call when using an application client container?

    Hi Shadab,
    Here is a list of Web service standards supported by SAP in NetWeaver 7.1.1: [Supported Standards|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/44/624479f7e608fae10000000a422035/frameset.htm] (also in [7.0|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/44/624479f7e608fae10000000a422035/frameset.htm] and [7.0.1|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/EN/44/624479f7e608fae10000000a422035/frameset.htm]). The Enterprise Services adhere to these standards, and on the provider side you have the tools to configure the authentication settings as needed. On the consumer side, one just has to use a Java release (or any other platform) that supports these standards.
    While I am not a Java developer, there should be [many ways to consume a Web service in Java|http://www.google.bg/search?q=consumewebservice+java].
    Hope this helps,
    Rossen
