Delete dev_23 in work directory

Hi
Can I delete 1.7 GB size file dev_w23 from work directory?
Ashraf

Hi Ashraf,
You can delete the file in UNIX even if the file is open.
After deletion you should then restart the work process 23 from SM50.
On Windows the system may complain that the file is open, however I cannot confirm that at this moment cause i don't have access to any windows SAP servers.
If windows does not complain you can go ahead and delete it, however make sure you restart the process in SM50.
Also,
As sachin has mentioned earlier, please check the trace file before deleting if you are on UNIX you can simply check by tailing the end of file continuously.
tail -f dev_23
On windows there is no such utility.

  • Deletion of /usr/lib Directory

    I did something extremely foolish and deleted the /usr/lib directory on my G4 tibook. Now none of the apps work, including unix commands such as mv and cp. I then proceeded to try rebooting the computer, and it will not boot. It also does not boot into target disk mode, and I have not been able to boot if off of my other tibook in target disk mode.
    I've backedup up this computer, but I would still rather not have to reformat the disk and start from scratch. Does anyone have any ideas for what I can try at this point?
    Thanks,
    Ian
    Titanium Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    You can do an Archive and Install. This will install a fresh copy of OS X without erasing the hard drive. Before doing the archive and install be sure to repair the hard drive:
    Boot from your Tiger DVD. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your OS X volume from the list on the left, click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (3.0.3 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.1.1 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    If your backup is a bootable clone and up to date, then you could simply boot from the backup and clone it back to the main hard drive. You would need to erase the drive first.
    Or if you feel sufficiently confident you could boot from the backup (if it's a bootable clone) and copy the /usr/bin/ directory from the backup to its proper location on the main drive. Be sure to check that the permissions on the directory are correct after the copy, and if not reset them accordingly.
    In the future stay away from the hidden elements of OS X. There's a reason Apple keeps them hidden.

  • SystemExec.vi working directory problem

    he usual method for calling the *.exe file in LabVIEW is using the
    System Exec.vi (in the Communications palette, as u are aware of).
    Unfortunately, the System Exec call (working directory input)does not
    support the options following the filename.
    Here is what you can do instead:
    1) Create a filename.bat file which calls the executable file with the
    options following the title ("filename.exe -option1 -option2"].
    2) Then use the LabVIEW System Exec VI to call the filename.bat file,
    and those options will be ported over.
    Hope this helps,
    rkapoor

    I'm not sure I understand your statement "the System Exec call (working directory input)does not
    support the options following the filename".
    System Exec.vi in LabView 6.1 does support whatever command line options the called program supports.
    Try these commands in the command line control of System Exec.vi:
    explorer.exe c:\winnt\system32
    (or any other directory) and you'll see Explorer open and display the specified directories contents.
    Or, use notepad to create a small text file and save it as c:\eraseme.txt. Use Windows Explorer to view the properties of the file to confirm that's it's not read-only or hidden. Then run System Exec.vi with the following command line:
    attrib.exe c:\eraseme.txt +r +h
    Look at the file properties again and you'll see that i
    t's read-only and hidden.

  • Set working directory for a single thread

    Hi there,
    Well, there are already some threads about the "working directory" subject.
    Here's a new variant: I need to have different working directorys for each thread.
    I am currently enhancing an application to do some similar jobs multithreaded (but each one in a different working dir).
    So far, I started n instances of the same application in n virtual machines in n shells with each one having a different working dir.
    I think compared to the old way, doing it with multithreading is a good resource saving optimization...
    Reading through the 'working directory' threads , I everywhere found the recommendation to do without the internal 'cd' and use absolute paths instead.
    The problem is:
    Some of the lower level classes create directories and files in their constructors to make sure they exist when performing later actions.
    If there is really no way other than using absolute paths, I would need to change many constructor's and method's signatures (from the creation of a Runnable Object all the way down to the creation of the mentioned classes).
    So please, don't recommend me to use absolute paths if there's a trick to do a 'cd'.
    Of course, if there is really no way to do a 'cd' for a thread, this would be bad luck...
    Hoping for help
    Markus

    Hi,
    Reading those threads, I was not sure if the conclusion is "I can not" or "I should not" (maybe because its very difficult or it may have side effects or whatever).
    The scenario I described is true, but it was also meant to prevent people from saying "you should not" too easily.
    But if the conclusion is "I can not", it seems I will have to do numerous changes. Bad luck for me.
    Anyway, Thanx.

    Hi Ktchast,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
    The article below may be able to help you with this issue.
    Click on the link to see more details and screenshots.
    Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5622
    An Apple ID is a user name you use for everything you do with Apple. Creating an account for an Apple service, such as the iTunes Store or the App Store, creates an Apple ID. Apple ID allows you to access other Apple services. You don't have to create a new account for each service—just use your Apple ID.
    How do I change my Apple ID Name or personal information?
    You can change your Apple ID Name at My Apple ID. Click on Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your Apple ID name and password. Click Edit and enter the new information, then click Save Changes. Changes take effect immediately. You can also use My Apple ID to change your personal information, such as your mailing address or email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

  • Illustrator needs a Relative mode switch or ability to set a Working directory for each AI file!

    Hi guys,
    I thought I would post in here because I find I'm wanting this feature more and more over the past year.
    This can apply to most of Adobes application but it would be great to see some file management functionality built into the applications themselves. This could then be further expanded in Bridge/Cue to incorporate more applications into the working project but at the very least the application itself the ability to control its own root existence.
    On so many occasions I require Illustrators file linking feature to be relative and NOT absolute which it currently is. The only relative capability it has is if ALL the linked assets are in the same local directory as the AI file itself and this as everyone knows breaks the first rule of proper file management.
    Many of the projects I work on uses many AI files with sometimes over 50 linked in assets in a variety of different formats from a variety of different clients (locations). I cannot easily move this project folder around without the painful task of linking all the data again and this creates a massive issue.
    Ideally an approach similar to Autodesks Maya and Max where you can set project directories. This means all the Save As and other operations will default to that working directory for that file. All linked data will then use the projects working directory as its root and allow the project to move from location to location and not be affected.
    This would Im sure benefit many other designers who work on projects with large amounts of data that may not live always in the same spot. For us we work with so many different people during a production that mobility is a must and at the moment we are finding it very difficult.
    As always, thanks for reading.
    Cheers
    Nick.

    Hello,
    First command
    So what does the wiki meen by: "DEVPATH sets the physical device. You can determine this by executing the command
    readlink -f /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon-device/device | sed -e 's/^\/sys\///'"
    Physical device of what, and what output am I suppose to get: Nothing, a list with output on where the symlinks lead, something else... In my case I got no output, if that is right, I do not know - since I do not understand what the command do.
    Seccond comand
    DEVNAME: Sets the name of the device. Try:
    sed -e 's/[[:space:]=]/_/g' /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon-device/device/name
    Does it meen like this - If I during my pwmconfig used hwmon1 wich was coretemp, and hwmon2 wich was nct6775, I should do:
    sed -e 's/[[:space:]=]/_/g' /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1-device/device/name coretemp
    sed -e 's/[[:space:]=]/_/g' /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon2-device/device/name nct6775
    And that will direct every occurrence of hwmon1 and hwmon2 to the correct sensor chip?

  • How do I change my default "SAP Working Directory" to the one I wish ?

    Hello Gurus,
    How do I change my default "SAP Working Directory" to the one I wish ?
    At the moment default SAP Working Directory to set to the following directory.
    "C:\Documents and Settings\T51273\SapWorkDir"
    So, when ever I try to download a Report/Table Contents/Spool Request, SAP prompts me to save in the above SAP Working Directory, which is "C:\Documents and Settings\T51273\SapWorkDir". Ofcourse I can change the folder in the dialogue box, but I don't want to change the folder each and every time I download a report from SAP.
    I wish to change my default "SAP Working Directory" to "My Documents" Folder. So that from next time,
    if ever I try to download a Report/Table Contents/Spool Request, SAP should prompt "My Documents" Folder. That way I don't have to change the folder at the time of saving.
    Full Points are assigned for an answer that works...
    Thank You,
    Nag.

    Hello,
    A short question about transaction SO21:
    Is this a local setting, per GUI?
    Or does this affect all users?
    I have a problem opening an attachment (Mandates).
    SAP wants to save it to C:\Windows\System32\
    I see that is stated at SO21.
    If I change that to another (accessable) location, does that affect the opening of the attachment?
    Thanks!

  • How can I get the working directory of a project from an Annotation Processor in Java

    I am writing an annotation processor in Java and in this annotation processor I want to be able to find a file in the Project hierarchy of the project on which I am using this annotation processor. Through the annotation I can pass in the path of the file I am searching for relative to the project root but i cannot retrieve the project's working directory.
    Let's say that the processor is MyCustomProcessor and I am using it on the project MyProject. I want to be able to access(read) a file (a properties file) from the project structure of MyProject from the "process" method of MyCustomProcessor.
    I have read this link Eclipse - Annotation processor, get project path but when I use their solution I get a null returned from the StandardJavaFileManager.getLocation(StandardLocation.SOURCE_PATH) call.
    Some more details regarding the implementation:
    MyAnnotationProcessor:
    @SupportedAnnotationTypes(value = {"MyAnnotation" })
    @SupportedSourceVersion(RELEASE_6)
    public class MyCustomProcessor extends AbstractProcessor {
    @Override public boolean process(final Set<? extends TypeElement> annotations, final RoundEnvironment roundEnv) {
    for (final Element element : roundEnv.getElementsAnnotatedWith(MyAnnotation.class)) {

  • Unable to set working directory (-2147024832) for some app installs

    I've found several drivers on a Dell Laptop that don't play well with others in MDT 2012, so I started making an application install package for them instead.  Most of them fail with an "unable to set working directory" error.  I checked

    Why can't it find it or set the working directory, especially when it's already validated that it's there?

    I'm not familiar with how Dell does their client side software, but for the server-side software (my area of expertise), I've always done something like the following:
    I recommend running every application install in a VBScript/Powershell wrapper.  You get logging for the application back on your SLShare as well as its cleaner (you can replace Drivers A05 with A06 by changing the script, rather than editing the application
    in MDT).
    sApplicationName = "Dell 12G Chipset"
    oLogging.CreateEntry "Install-" & sApplicationName & ": Starting " & sApplicationName & " installation", LogTypeInfo
    '//Set Destination Folder
    sDestFolder = "c:\temp\"
    '//Set Source Install Directory
    sSourceDir = oUtility.ScriptDir
    sSourceDir = sSourceDir & "\Source"
    '//Check that folder exists, if not, create it.
    oLogging.CreateEntry "Install-" & sApplicationName & ": Check that " & sDestFolder & " exists.", LogTypeInfo
    if not oFSO.FolderExists (sDestFolder) then
    oFSO.CreateFolder sDestFolder
    End If
    '//Copy folder from MDT share to C:\Temp
    oLogging.CreateEntry "Install-" & sApplicationName & ": Copy from " & sSourceDir & " to " & sDestFolder, LogTypeInfo
    oFSO.CopyFolder sSourceDir, sDestFolder
    '//Sleep for 2 seconds to allow copy to finish
    wscript.sleep 2000
    sFile = sDestFolder & "Source\setup.exe"
    '// Check if file/folder exists
    If not oFSO.FileExists(sFile) then
    oLogging.CreateEntry "Install-" & sApplicationName & ": " & sFile & " was not found, unable to install " & sApplicationName & "", LogTypeError
    ZTIProcess = Failure
    Exit Function
    End if
    '// Create log entry to show file being run
    oLogging.CreateEntry "" & sFile & " -s", LogTypeInfo
    iRetVal = oUtility.RunWithHeartbeat("" & sFile & " -s")
    if (iRetVal = 0) or (iRetVal = 3010) then
    ZTIProcess = Success
    Else
    ZTIProcess = Failure
    End If
    wscript.sleep 15000
    '// Disable Zone Checks
    oEnv("SEE_MASK_NOZONECHECKS") = 1
    '//Folder Cleanup
    oFSO.DeleteFolder sDestFolder & "Source"
    I always copy any drivers that are installed after the fact (everything for me other than SAS/NIC drivers) to the C:\Temp as it can break.  I always update my NIC drivers during the build to the latest Dell software using their packs.  I try to
    not mess with my boot image unless I'm adding a new model that is not supported by the built-in drivers.

    Tom at the Genius Bar told me that Option Delete would work. It does not.
    I had to upgrade to iTunes 11.1.(I26) because it is required with OS7 on my iPod Touch (5th Gen). I have tried shutting down iTunes, then shutting down the entire system. This is the first in many visits that the Genius Bar gave me a solution that did not work.
    This is a big awkward computer locked to my desk. I would rather not unlock it and then carry it through a shopping center to the Genius Bar if i can avoid oit.
    When I installed iTunes 11.1, I discovered that Ihad to resubscribe to virtually all of the podcasts that I had previously been subscribed to. That was a surprise.

    Hello Achates:
    I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
    In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
    Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.
