Deleted Photos back to haunt me!!

I've deleted pictures from iphoto, and now they're popping up on top of non deleted pictures! and they're distorted, which is how i can tell which ones they are. any suggestions on how to fix this problem? i've emptied the trash, so i don't understand why some have come back! help!!

Afraid I can't help solve the mystery, only to say that I am experience the same problem and have less that 4000 photo's in my Library. I must confess that other than recognising them as photos that I have deleted. I haven't noticed any distortion. Is there anybody out there that can help!!!

Phonebooth is in your home folder under pictures with Iphoto and Ichat. Deleting pigtures from phonebooth should not remove any from Iphoto library. Something else had to happen.

  • How to get deleted photos back in the trash can?

I tried to dele all the photos I've deleted from iPhoto by cmd+delete all the photos in the iPhoto trash can, but that only made all the photos reappear in iPhoto.
How do I get the deleted photos back in the trash can?
I discovered this the next time I turned on my mac, so I couldn't just "go back".
I really don't wanna go trough ALL of my pictures and delete the thousands of pictures I've deleted over the past three years..
I now know how to delete dem properly, but not how to get them all back in the trash can. Please help me!
    Ida

There's no way to do that. If you try and trash thousands of photos at one go you'll trash the Library - which is what sounds like you've done.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Recover deleted photos backed up on Time Machine

Hi, my name is Rod and I am a long time Mac user.  Some years ago I encouraged my daughter to start backing up her 2009 MBP on Time Machine and bought her a 1 Tb external HD for that purpose.
What I did not know was that as her MBP had limited storage and began to run out of space she had been deleting photos from iPhoto assuming they were all backed up on TM.
She does not know when or how many photos were deleted over a period of a couple of years.
So she can of course restore to a previous date but then iPhoto will not include the photos added since that date (if I understand TM restore function correctly).
My question is, how can she recover all of the photos from the TM backups from the first backup to the current one and consolidate them into one file.
Many of her early photos are precious records of her first baby, wedding etc.
Any suggestions of software that can achieve this or better yet methods that can be employed with her MBP and existing software would be much appreciated.
    With thanks,
    Rod

Just tested this out in Snow Leopard and it may work in later versions vs restoring the libraries.
    1. I opened up an Iphoto Library on my desk top EVENTS option (this is one I use for test prints sometimes - so no risk)
    2. I entered time machine
    3. Time machine then allowed me to back up through time until I found an event I wanted
-- the bottom bar had 2 options restore all  -- and just restore.
    4. I highlighted the event I wanted and clicked on RESTORE
-- all of the pictures of that event were restored to the current library.
--   the restore does allow you to filter out or accept duplicate pictures.

  • Dreadfully need help! Could I get my deleted photos back?

Last week, I traveled with my friends and took some photos, but I deleted them by accident.
Could I get them back, that's very important.
Give me some methods to recover deleted photos from iPhone backup.

You must have a backup,This is so easy, you can use iStonsoft iPad/iPod/iPhone Data Recovery to Restore Pictures from iPhone Backup Files,iStonsoft iPad/iPod/iPhone Data Recovery can help you Extract Pictures from iPhone Backup on Windows and more quickly,This is a simple method to Recover Pictures from iPhone Backup on Windows, only one-click.
If you do not want to use tools or the third party software, you can use iTunes to sync your photos,or you can also Extract Pictures from iCloud,However, this is so slowly, and you need to connect the Internet

    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up

iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - Maybe via How to perform iPad recovery for photos, videos

  • Problem re-importing deleted photos back into iPhoto

I have deleted some photos in iPhoto but now want to import them from the SD card again. It won't let me do it, says they are already imported.

I found another thread that suggests checking the "include videos" in the Photo sync part of iTunes. I'll try that tonight.

  • Can I get deleted photos back?

My hard drive on my iMac crashed and it was not possible to recover any of the data. Lost all my iPhotos, everything. I went to copy the few photos I had stored on my iPod Touch and instead erased all the ones there, too. I think I said yes and the new blank iPhoto overwrote the images on the iPod. Is there any way to get the images back that I just erased on the iPod?

Do you have a PC avaliable?
If you have a PC, you may have a look at http://www.ipodcomputerwizard.com, it can export photos from iPod touch.
For the Mac system, you could do a google. There is no reason that program with the same function only in PC.
But, as I know, the pictures will be resized when you loaded them to the iPod, so, don't expect them will keep same resolution as you have taked by camera.
Anyway, still worth to try, wish you luck!

  • If delete photo back up to iCloud, will I lose my photos?

If I turn off iCloud backup on my photos, will I lose them?

If you are talking about turning off Photostream this will not affect the photos on your iPad. Note that Photostream is not a backup.
If you are talking about just turning off iCloud backup then this will not affect the Photos on your iPad. Of course, your photos and other data will no longer be saved to iCloud.

  • HT201269 I am trying to save memory on my iPhone 4S/ ios6. Can I back up all photos to icloud and the external hard disk I normally use for photos? If I then delete photos from the iPhone do the get deleted on iCloud?

I am trying to save memory on my iPhone 4S/ ios6.
    1) Can I back up all photos to icloud and the external hard disk I normally use for photos? If I then delete photos from the iPhone do the get deleted on iCloud?
    2) Can I back up the newsstand to iCloud and save memory on the iPhone?
    3) Can I back up the bookshelf to icloud and save memory on the iPhone?

    1. What format is the external drive? It sounds like it's ina format that Macs can't write to. Is it a NAS or NTFS?
    2. Easiest thing: just move your iPhoto Library to the external
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • I updated to iOS7 and my deleted photos came back.  How do I make sure this doesn't happen again?

I updated to iOS7 and my deleted photos came back.  How do I make sure this doesn't happen again?  I want to get rid of the ones I already got rid of, but if they just keep coming back that will be a waste of time.
    Can anyone help?
When I sync with itunes, the photos sections says I am syncing with my iphone, so I assume that anything I physically delete from my iphone should not be showing up again.  Right?
    Thanks in advance.
    CM
    PS- I don't use iphoto.

Is that really how sync works?
If you read this, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236  and this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314  they don't actually make how sync works very clear.  I had thought that syncing my device to itunes would allow I tunes to copy what was currently on my phone so that I could restore that information when needed ie if your phone dies and you need to do a clean install of the iOS system, you always have what is currently on your phone saved in Itunes.
    Specifically reading this:
To delete Camera Roll photos and videos from your device
There are two methods to delete items from the Camera Roll:
Import the Camera Roll to your computer and choose to delete items after import.
Delete photos and videos from your device manually:
Open the Photos application and open the Camera Roll.
    Tap the Action button.
Tap each photo to select it.
    Tap the Delete button.
Note: For photos and videos you want to save, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.
What you seem to be saying is that iTunes saves every contact, message, photo etc and when you click sync, it reuploads things that you deleted?  This seems like it should work the opposite.  Make a mirror image of my iPhone on my computer, not make a mirror image of my computer onto my iPhone.  You delete things for a reason.
Help- anyone else?  Is razmee209 right?
