Deleting hierarchy using IM22

Hi,
I am trying to use IM22 for deleting investment program hierarchy.When I do a BDC recording i get the nodes in terms of numbers ie like 05/16 guess the positions.Is there any way of identifying the posid for the corresponding so that I can generalise.

Usually you don't delete hierarchy tree, but stop using it by manipulating validity dates.

Not able to view Characteristic Hierarchy using Tcode KES3

Hi everyone,
I need to view the Characteristic Hierarchy using T-code KES3 in CO-PA. Ideally, once we are into KES3 screen, we need to select the characteristic and variant to display the hierarchy. But, when I select the characteristic and variant, it says that "Hierarchy doesn't exist".
However, when I create a report for that particular characteristic using T-code KE31, I am able to view the hierarchy for that characteristic there.
Can anyone please help me in this regard that why the characteristic hierarchy is not available in KES3, while it's picking up the hierarchy at the time of report creation.

Hi Nikolas,
I want to see the hierarchy of "Business Unit" characteristic. This characteristic is being maintained under "Referenced Characteristic" in T-code KE31. This characteristics is being maintained in Profitability Analysis (T-code KEA5).
Also, I am not able to derive the source where the hierarchy is being maintained for that characteristic. Because, if hierarchy is coming while creating CO-PA reports. they must be maintained somewhere.

I want to create a tree report using custom container and class cl_gui_column_tree. I have read and understood the standard demo report which SAP has provided i.e. SAPCOLUMN_TREE_CONTROL_DEMO. But in this report all the levels nodes are created as constants and hardcoded. I want to create hierarchy using nested loops. For this i took one example of a hierarchy of VBAK-VBELN->VBAP-POSNR Like One sales order has many line items and each line item can have number of line items in billing plan.

Now this program compiles fine and runs till there is only one level. That is root->vbeln. But when i add one more loop of it_posnr it gives me runtime error of message type 'X'. The problem i found was uniqueness of item-item_name as all the sales order have posnr = 0010. What could be done? I tried giving item_name unique hierarchy level using counters just like stufe field in prps eg. 10.10.10, 10.10.20,10.20.10,10.20.20,20.10.10 etc.. etc.. but still i am getting runtime error when i add one more hierarchy using nested loop. Plz guide.

Delete not using indexes

Hi, I'm a fairly new user of Oracle XMLDB 9.2.0.4 so please bear with me. I registered a schema and inserted about 130k rows into an XMLType table. Retrieval time took a severe hit as expected, but I created some indexes and it seemed to solve the problem. Autotrace showed that indexes were working correctly.
However, delete does not seem to use those indexes, and instead performs a full table scan. The only difference between the statements used were:
SELECT * FROM <table> where existsNode(...)
DELETE FROM <table> where existsNode(...)
Does anyone know how to alleviate full table scans on deletes?

I messed around with 9.2.0.4 a little more, and realized that delete will use the index if it's an element that is indexed (like your example pointed out). However, delete doesn't seem to use indexed attributes.

To explain the code, to begin with a String holds the value of the selected field of the combobox i have in my app. I have the SQL select statement the using this variable as the where clause.
The usual connection and statement objects are declared etc and then the query is executed. Within the While loop I then attempt to delete the row that the query has retrieved for me. However this results in the following error.

Thanks for the reply. I understand your comment about
using the delete statement and it seems I am making
an obvious error. However I was using the select
statement to generate a resultSet object with which I
can delete elements from. Hence the reason for the
use of the select statement.This is brain dead, the classic newbie mistake. The database vendor has optimized their code more than you ever will in making those deletes, so use their code. Not only will they do it faster than you will, but you'll save yourself (n+1) network roundtrips (1 for the SELECT, 1 for each DELETE you issue). Better to learn SQL and use a WHERE clause to do it on the database side.
You have however solved the problem I had with
directly executing the delete statement as an SQL
String. I was using the following statement:
String deleteQuery = "select * from Operator where
OperatorName = " + "'"+opName+"'";
The wildcard character is not required and it was
this that gave me problems and made me look to using
a select query and deleting results from a
resultSet.Sounds like you need a SQL book. I recommend "SQL For Smarties".

If you don't know the termset net it makes it tricky.
In theory if you know the name of the term you could look through all termsets to find it. The catch of course is to ensure there is only one instance of the term otherwise you may delete terms you need.

What version of OLAP are you using and how did you create your AW (e.g., AWM)?
Assuming that you're used either AWM or the Java API for AWs in 10g, there isn't an OLAP DML for adding a dimension member to a dimension (and have all the meta data kept in sync); you must load dimension members using AWM the Java API for AWs.
So, make your changes in the the dimension table and process that table.
For sorting, you can add a sort attribute to the dimension. Add the sort attribute to the model, indicate that it's used for sorting, add the sort attribute to your dimension table and maintain the dimension.

Delete ccmcache used space

Hi All
I have a question regarding client cache removal using a powershell script calling a com object
My C drive contains 18 GB free space
Total CCM Cache in c:\windows\ccmcache size is 10240
Free Space = 8713 and used space = 1527
I used the following powershell script to remove used space by using DeleteCacheElement function
Though all folders were removed in cache but I still see used space even after using the script
May I know the reason and how to delete the used space
