Deleting old job openings

Laura,
Because a lot of people are apparently unable to read and understand a calendar, would it make sense to just delete job openings that are more than a few months old.

Hi Dennis,
My current way of handling that board is to wait until the person that created the post notifies me and then I delete it.  However, not everyone knows how to notify a moderator.  Perhaps I could put a note in the announcements or create a thread and float it to the top of the board with best practices for the board.  It probably wouldn't eliminate the fact that people don't always read the announcement, but it may help the person posting the thread to know that we can take it down for them.
Even better - I can add a disclaimer that threads may be deleted after a certain amount of time at the moderator's discretion.
Thanks for the feedback!
Laura

  • Delete old users/jobs in sm37

We have some old jobs created in SM37 (R/3 4.7)
Some of the people who created the jobs has now left the company.
How do I assign the jobs to a another user so we get rid of old names in jobs "created by" column in sm37.

    Brian,
Not all jobs created by people who have left will be necessary to run in the system.
Create a standard user, exclusively for running background jobs, login with the user, go to sm37, list the jobs created by people who have left, copy them and delete the earlier scheduled instance of the job. Schedule the job, created under the new id as per your requirements.
Make sure you delete the earlier jobs with status as scheduled / released / ready / active, or else they will trigger another instance of the job under the old user-id's

  • Delete old records in oracle database using jobs

    Hi,
will it be possible to delete old records in oracle database using jobs
need to delete old records on weekly basis and rebuild my index.
    Thanks!

933633, While it is possible to do a great deal with the dbms_scheduler your shop should have a scheduler like CA Unicenter that is used to run the application job schedules. Purge jobs should probably be part of the normal application schedule rather than contained in the database, if your shop has a scheduler in use.
As far as rebuilding the indexes after the purge keep in mind that freshly rebuilt indexes often have to split when inserts are performed due to the fact the compacted index blocks do not have room to hold the newly inserted keys in the appropriate locations. So just because you purge weekly does not automatically mean the indexes should be rebuilt weekly. You need to look at the index key DML pattern and at the total percentage of the index that is held by deleted rows.

  • How to delete old logs in SAP BI, what is the best way to go?

    Hi,
below are the issues we are facing,
when executing infopackage job is not getting triggred into source system.
for activation DSO data it is taking huge time. At the time of seqential read to RSREQDONE table.
I think this is due to huge logs in the staandard tables.
What could be the reson behind this.. and let me know how to delete old logs.
    Thanks,
    Harish

    Hi,
just carry out RSRV for DSO PSA tables and see if there is inconsistency available there in the PSA table.
see if the change log and PSA deletion is happening regularly..else schedule same in PC
check with basis there are certain jobs which needs to run regularly at certain frequency..

  • Deleting old messages problem (adapter status 001)

    Hi,
I am trying to delete old messages, and some of them are staying in system. Here is the result of 'RSXMB_SHOW_STATUS' report:
    Message Status
    Message Status:      003 Number:             85.274
Adapter Status of Messages with Message Status:              003
    Adapter Status:      000 Number:              4.040
    Adapter Status:      001 Number:             74.290
    Adapter Status:      002 Number:                  0
    Adapter Status:      003 Number:                  0
    Adapter Status:      004 Number:                  0
    Adapter Status:      005 Number:                  0
    Adapter Status:      006 Number:              4.806
    Adapter Status:      007 Number:              2.122
    Adapter Status:      008 Number:                  6
    Adapter Status:      009 Number:                  0
    Adapter Status:      010 Number:                  0
    Adapter Status >     010 Number:                  0
So, there is 74.290 messages whith 001 status in adapter. Archieve and delete jobs don't want to delete them, and status isn't going to change. Refreshing adapter status did help with most of messages but 74.290 is what still there after refresh. Any ideas how to bring them to final state or may be its possible delete them in this state?

    Hi,
Above  Messages are related to your IDoc and BPM related interfaces...
so you need to schedule a report which does the deletion of the same...
Check the reports scheduled are running or not...
I dont remeber the reports which does the job of changing the status...

  • Cannot delete old sessions from SM35 - Batch Input...

Cannot delete old sessions from SM35 - Batch Input...
We have an issue, we are trying to delete old batch input sessions via SM35 and no
matter how hard we try we cannot get rid of them. They are still in status "In Process" but they are status incorrect.
Those sessions have long finished and some are more than 5 years old.
We have tried running rsdbcreo and RSBDC_REORG but it only returns with
Temse Error, running SP12 does not list any inconsistencies. Basically we want all jobs in SM35 that ran this year only available in the SM35 queue, we have sessions that have run from year 2004 to 2008 we wish to
    delete.
Anybody experience anything similar or have any advice, sorry this is an environment that i have inherited and wish to cleanup.
We have checked the following notes 706478,76422,706478,76422 and many more.
    Thanks
    Suleman

When you try to delete, you will be asked whether you want to delete logs too.
    Here try with 'No'.
    hope this helps

  • Delete Old BDoc entries

    Hello Everybody,
I am new to CRM world , so excuse me if I am missing anything here.
I am trying to delete old bdoc entries from our system. I read up and found Bdoc entries can be deleted by scheduling the reorganization job execution(Report SMO6_REORG2) and we already run this report everyday with standard options:
Here's our current table sizes and also the message flow statisctics with average times.
Please let me know if the entries/messages are in optimum size or if there is anything else I need to do to bring the entries further down.
Reorganize processed Bdoc messages :           Days to hold 7
Reorganize Trace data :                                   Days to hold 7
    Reorganize Bdoc statistics

    Hi MMD,
Please see my response to your questions below.
    a. Is it safe to just delete the old files and just create a BDoc Type entries for BUPA_MAIN and BUPA_Rel so that we could apply the DO NOT SEND resolution?
Ans: It is not advisable to delete the BDocs as it may cause data inconsistency but if you are ready to do some extra work and your business allows you to initiate the initial load then you can surely delete the queues. Use the DIMA tool to find out the data inconsistency and resolve it.
    b. If we set up the BDOC types and apply the DO NOT SEND resolution, will it be safe to reprocess all the pending CSA* queues even if its old already (May 2008) to clear the SMW01 queues as well?
Ans: You can restart the queues any time it does not matter how old it is.
    Thanks,
    Vikash.

  • Deleting Old Queries

    Hi All,
I have gone to the Stats cube and have identified over 900 old queries that have not been accessed/run since 1999, 2000, 2001. Several of them are from cubes that we do not even use anymore. Instead of deleting them individually, which is extremely time consuming, is there a program that I can run where I can input the names of all the queries I was erased and it will carry the job out of deleting old queries?
    Regards,
    Pashang

    You can use transaction RSZDELETE.

  • Time capsule won't delete old backups

Time capsule working fine since months ago. After snow leopard upgrade started to give warning that not enough space is available. Delete old backup's option is on.

The Time Capsule was designed to work with Time Machine for backups. That doesn't mean you can't use other backup software to do the job, but Time Capsule is "relying" on Time Machine to perform backup maintenance ... like deleting the oldest files.
Because you are using a Mac with an non-Leopard OS, you will have to either rely on the backup program that you are using or self-maintenance. I would suspect that in order to delete the current backups, you would need to access the Time Capsule's hard drive directly through the Finder. You mention the connection fails. What exactly is the error you are seeing when attempting to access the Time Capsule?

  • BI Publisher Bursting sending Email even after I delete schedule job

I am facing some weird issue in BI Publisher. We have a BI Publisher report and we are using Bursting query to burst the report to destination Email. It works fine when i run manually. It also worked fine when i schedule it first time for particular time. few days ago client wanted to change the scheduling time. Since there is no way to modify the scheduling time, i deleted the old schedule jobs from BI Publisher as well as i truncated the following tables from DB where it stores scheduling job information.
    XMLP_SCHED_JOB
    XMLP_SCHED_OUTPUT
    XMLP_SCHED_SUBSCRIPTION
I also created the new scheduling job based on new time. The issue is Clients are getting the emails in old time as well as new scheduling timel. I can see the new scheduling information in following table so no information of old scheduling time. How BI Publisher is still running the report on old time. I research a lot but still i am not able to find the place from where it is still sending the old emails. Can anyone please have any idea to resolve this?

Did you delete the job schedule using the GUI first? Otherwise by manually deleting the records from XMLP_ tables
may somehow have corrupted the scehduling option.
There are other components for the scheduler which are not only saved in XMLP_ tables and these
    are the QUARTZ tables.
As of release 11g there is not mechanism to manage BIP scheduler tables.
    regards
    Jorge

  • The email for my apple id is from old job and i need to switch it to my personal email but there is already an old account under my personal email address

The email for my apple id is from old job and i need to switch it to my personal email but there is already an old account under my personal email address.  How do I delete the account using my personal email so that I can use it for my current account?

You can't delete an account, you will need to replace the email address on the old account first e.g.  by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on it on iOS device and logging into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http:// appleid.apple.com

  • Old jobs in EM

Will old jobs, regardless of success/problems status, get removed from EM at some point in time or must it be done manually?

Thanks for the clarification. No, I don't have anything scheduled to delete jobs. Do I go through a table or is there an API for EM that I can use?
Deleting jobs manually will be tedious because you have to click on the job, click on Delete and then click on the confirmation. The clicks aren't an issue; it's having to move the mouse from one end of the display to another (lazy fellow that I am).
I will read up on EM somemore.

  • Hi, ok so at my old job i got given a laptop and i synced my iPhone to that laptop using iCloud, now i have left that job and i have bought my own macbook. I just linked my iPhone to my new macbook via iCloud and now pictures from my old work colleges

Hi, ok so at my old job i got given a laptop and i synced my iPhone to that laptop using iCloud, now i have left that job and i have bought my own macbook. I just linked my iPhone to my new macbook via iCloud and now pictures from my old work colleges that are obviously using that laptop have popped up on my new laptop, does that mean all my pictures in the last 3 months have been loa
ding onto that old work laptop as well as my new one??!!! if so how do i delete my pictures from the past 3 months off that old work macbook? HELP!!

If they are photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll, then delete them from photo stream.  That will delete them from photo stream in iCloud and on any other devices/computers.  Of couse it won't delete them if they have already been moved out of the photo stream album download folder on the work computer.
Then change your iCloud password so the old work computer no longer has access to your iCloud data or photo stream.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

  • Ola Hallengren maintenance solution TSQL script not deleting old backup files from my local SQL server

I have looked on Ola's site (https://ola.hallengren.com/frequently-asked-questions.html) and I did see this:
DatabaseBackup is not deleting old backup files. What could the problem be?
Verify that the SQL Server and SQL Server Agent service accounts have full control of the backup directory.
If that directory is a network share, verify that the SQL Server and SQL Server Agent service accounts have full control of the network share.
If you are using a proxy account, verify that the account is a member of the sysadmin server role and that it has full control of the backup directory and network share.
Verify that the file is not locked in the file system; for example, a backup or antivirus software could be locking the file.
DatabaseBackup has been designed not to delete transaction log backups that are newer than the most recent full or differential backup. This could explain why transaction log backups are not being deleted.
I followed these instructions and then I right clicked the "sp_delete_backuphistory" job under "SQL Server Agent > Jobs" folder and clicked the "Start job at step ..." option. The job successfully ran, but my .bak backup
files were still on located on my separate drive partition I use specifically for these backups.
The SQL Server and the SQL Server Agent are both using the same AD account.
Would any of you SQL gurus out there know how to resolve this?
    Thank you

The sp_delete_backuphistory job only deletes the historical info from the backup & restore tables in the msdb database. It does not do anything to the files on disk.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188328.aspx
The code to actually purge the backup files from disk is inside the DatabaseBackup stored procedure. It is controlled by using the @CleanupTime parameter for that stored proc. Verify the value for that parameter is low enough to delete your files on disk. The
value is in hours, and I believe the default is 48 hours. The SQL agent job name usually starts with "DatabaseBackup...".
