Deploy an EAR and an external ADFlib

I have an ADF project (in JDev 11.1.1.3) with it's respective EAR file. I have also some ADFlibs and JARs. All my project works OK (deploying it to Weblogic) but when re-deploying the project the ADFlibs and JARs are also re-deployed, maybe due to the EAR assembly and dependences.
My question is:
Is possible to only re-deploying the project's EAR file without re-deploying the other ADFlibs and JARs, and without losing the EAR's dependences??? If possible, how can I should do it????
Thanks.

We had the similar requirement in our project:-
Take a look at the following post for the required inputs:

  • How to deploy the .ear and the .war file

    Hi all,
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.0 and weblogic 10.3.1 and I want to deploy a very simple application.
I have successfully deployed it to an ear file, so I have in my folders two file: a .war file and a .ear file.
Now, what steps have I to do to deploying my application on WebLogic Server?
I have searched in the forum and in the manual, and this link ( http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/deployment_topics.htm#CHDFJADJ ) but I can't find nothing that help me
    Thanks

Thanks, I have just read http://radalcove.com/blog/?p=34 and http://radalcove.com/blog/?p=48.
I am in my weblogic console, I have clicked Install --> I have choose my ear file --> activate changes, but I had this error: No credential mapper entry found for password indirection user=myUser for data source myConnection.
I have read some post in the blog and I have unchecked Auto generate and sinchronize weblogic-jdbc.xml descriptors during deployment.
Clicking in activate changes, it works, and the deployment is in the state "prepared".
When I click on start I have this error: No credential mapper entry found for password indirection user=myUser for data source myConnection (without the final DS).
I have seen that in myJDBCConnection --> configuration --> connection pool, I have not the user name and the password. I have inserted them, but I have the same error.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again

  • EAR and external libraries (jar)

In my application, I use a number of external 3rd party classes (quartz, jersey, jackson) and they are packaged in jar files. When I deploy my EAR application, if I include these jars file inside my EAR file, do I need to add these jar files in the classpath section of my server also?
    I'm using WLS 10.3.5.
    Thanks

    Hi,
In general when you add them with in EAR / lib folder or WebApp/ lib folder then it will be part of the classpath. if these jar are not appears with in classpath then try to set Prefer-web-inf option in weblogic.xml file will solve all the problem.

  • Deploying a .ear file and SDN is stopped

I am trying to deploy a .ear file - but it tells me SDN is stopped - what is this and how do I start it?  Thanks - Janet

    janet,
I suppose it is SDM is stopped. u have to deploy ear file with SDM which is found in C:/usr/sap/JKS/JC00/SDM/program
    u will have remoteGui.bat.
use it for deploying the ear file.
u can check using the sap console u will see SDM Started.

  • Deploying EAR and EJB (ClassLoader Question)

    Hi,
Have a few queries. Appreciate any quick answers.
    (a) To deploy a EAR or EJB jar to WebLogic server, is it necessary to include the jar location specifically in $CLASSPATH?
I think not. Am I correct?
    (b) Is the bean/EAR deployed at module level? Is there a setting for this - is it at bean deployment descriptor? Where can I find this?
If (say) I need to update an EJB, do I un-deploy, update and re-deploy it?
Or must I restart the entire WLS container?

--> An EAR includes one or more EJB files. You don't need to specify the location because it's contained at application.xml file inside the EAR.
--> Each bean has a deployment descriptor. You can see it at META-INF directory
If you need to update an EJB (that it is not part of and EAR), you are right.
The WLS container not need to be restarted.

  • Same EAR deployed on Win2K and Solaris works differently

    Hi,
Deplying the same EAR, using the same deployment ant script, on 2 WLS 7.0 SP4

the Solaris deployed one throws a ClassNotFound exception. The CLASSPATH is the

Strange as it is, we still need a stack trace. ;)
Do you have one for the solaris CNF exception?

    Hi,
As an XML application, the deployed application uses JDOM. In the beginingI used
to deploy JDOM together with the application, in the same EAR andreferencing
it from MANIFEST.MF. Later I noticed that JDOM deployment was notmandatory and
I thought that the server already had it inside. At this time I wasdeveloping
on Win2K workstations. Now I'm going live on a Solaris server and the JDOMdeployment
suddenly became mandatory. So, to resume, I don't need to deply JDOM onthe WebLogic
7.0 SP4 for Win2K and everything works fine, but I need to deploy JDOM onthe
WebLogic Server 7.0 SP4 on Solaris in order to avoid ClassNotFoundexceptions.
    Strange enough isn't it ?
    Kind regards,

  • Deploy given EAR file having application.xml and change context-root

    hi
Please consider deploying a given EAR file on WebLogic Server 10.3.5 (part of JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0) and changing the context-root for its web-module.
For example an EAR file with only a web-module (ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear [1]) or an EAR file with a web-module and an ejb-module (ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear [2]).
Given documentation appendix B section "context-root" [3] saying
    "... A context-root setting in application.xml takes precedence over context-root setting in weblogic.xml. ..."
and documentation section "Typical Deployment Configuration Workflows" [4] saying
"Oracle does not support using a deployment plan to change the context-root in an application.xml file. However, if an application is deployed as a library, you can either change the context-root through an weblogic-application.xml file or use the deployment plan to change the context-root in an weblogic-application.xml file. "
    Some observed behaviour:
    - scenario (sc1) : deploy ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear without deployment plan, results in context-root "/rcrfaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc2) : deploy ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear with deployment plan fa-plan.xml (tries to configure "/rcrfaweb11"), results in context-root "/rcrfaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc3) : deploy ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear without deployment plan, results in context-root "/rcrsaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc4) : deploy ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear with deployment plan sa-plan.xml (tries to configure "/rcrsaweb21"), results in context-root "/rcrsaweb" (as in application.xml)
The blog post "Defining the context root of a web application in Oracle WebLogic server" [5] by Silviu Leahu in its section "Defining the context root in deployment plan" suggests to
"Remove the META-INF/application.xml DD from the EAR"
    - scenario (sc5) : remove application.xml from ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear (e.g. using Ant target "remove.application.xml.from.ear") and deploy with deployment plan fa-plan.xml, results in context-root "/rcrfaweb11" (as in fa-plan.xml)
    - scenario (sc6) : remove application.xml from ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear (e.g. using Ant target "remove.application.xml.from.ear") and deploy with deployment plan sa-plan.xml, results in context-root "/rcrsaweb21" (as in sa-plan.xml)
One could expect that using a deployment plan (like in scenario's (sc2) and (sc4)) would allow to configure/change the context-root, whithout having to make changes to the EAR file to make this possible. (Somewhat like "Figure 4-2 Single Deployment Plan Workflow")
Only in scenario's (sc5) and (sc6) I see something close to what I would like to achieve, but there the application.xml file has been removed from the EAR file.
    So ...
    - (q1) Is it impossible to change the context-root at deploy-time for a web-module in a given EAR file that includes an application.xml file, without changing the EAR file?
    - (q2) Is working with EAR files that don't have an application.xml file a supported approach (to change the context-root at deploy-time)?
Seems like a simple goal, but I must be missing something that is required to achieve it.

Thanks for your reply René van Wijk.
    René van Wijk wrote:
You can use deployment plans in order to change the context-root ...That is what I tried and describe in scenario's (sc2), (sc4), (sc5) and (sc6) in this forum thread.
Because the application.xml file (in the "given EAR file"), added by JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 when deploying to an EAR file, doesn't have id attributes on its application/module elements, I first tried a different XPath expression:
    "/application/module/web[web-uri/text()="WebProject.war"]/context-root"
    But, that didn't work.
Although the "given EAR file" does not have the suggested id attributes, I tried adding a deployment descriptor application.xml file that does have such id attributes [2], allowing an XPath expression like the one suggested:
    "/application/module[id="WebProject"]/web/context-root"
    - scenario (sc7) : deploy ReviewContextRootFirstApp.ear (in ReviewContextRootApps-v0.02.zip) with deployment plan fa-plan-application-xml-with-id.xml (tries to configure "/rcrfaweb14"), results in context-root "/rcrfaweb" (as in application.xml)
    - scenario (sc8) : deploy ReviewContextRootSecondApp.ear (in ReviewContextRootApps-v0.02.zip) with deployment plan sa-plan-application-xml-with-id.xml (tries to configure "/rcrsaweb24"), results in context-root "/rcrsaweb" (as in application.xml)
So, it does not seem to work.
... you have to use a variable assignment in the right part of the deployment plan (in this case the application.xml) ...My observations I describe above (that it does not seem to work) seem to confirm the Oracle documentation [1] I referred to in this forum thread before:
"Oracle does not support using a deployment plan to change the context-root in an application.xml file. ... "
... By using an xpath expression, you can define which part of the xml has to be changed. ...The values for the deployment-plan xpath elements seem to be "peculiar".
Although it should not be a problem in an XPath expression, using single quotes (like module[id='WebProject'] ) instead of double quotes (like module[id="WebProject"] ) results in:
"java.lang.AssertionError: Attributes must be defined as name value pairs, eg, name="value" -- [id='WebProject']"
Because an XPath predicate expression would use an "@" to refer to an attribute, I also tried to replace what you suggested module[id="Web"] with something like module[@id="Web"] but that also did not make a difference.

  • Deploying EJB JAR and Application EAR, META-INF directory name

    To all:
I had a problem the last couple of days with deploying an EJB and application.
I'm new to WebLogic, maybe this is common knowledge, but I researched it and
didn't find any reference to what I discovered.
    I'm using WebLogic Server 7 Service Pack 2 (7.02), on Windows 2000.
My problem was that the application that I was trying to deploy would not deploy
successfully, because a dependent class was not found for the EJB. I tried everything,
but the only thing I could get to work was placing the dependent jar files in
the classpath of the WebLogic server, within the start script. I correctly had
the Class-Path manifest line correct, but the dependent classes were not being
    found.
Through trial and error I discovered that the META-INF directory within the JAR
and EAR archives HAS TO BE ALL UPPERCASE for the app server to successfully find
the manifest.mf file and the application.xml file.
As soon as I changed the directory name in both the EJB JAR file and the application
EAR file, the EJB deployed successfully, all dependent classes were then found.
I'm posting this here to help anybody that might have the same problem. There
is not any documentation that I could find that had this directory name requirement
    explicitly stated.
    Regards,
    JD

What does the manual for the OC4J application server have to say about it all?

    hello,
have you tried including the 3rd party jar in your EAR file itself?
i use a number of external jars in my web app and ejb, including some xml parsing classes. what i did was to put them all in the EAR, at the root level, in other words, not in a sub-directory. then in my WAR's meta-inf/MANIFEST.MF file reference them in the Class-path. do simililar thing for the ejbs if necessary.
when you tried to use the inqxml instead, did you make a reference in manager/referecen.txt from your app to the inqmy library? if so, did you look into the inqmyxml.jar to see if the Node class is actually there?

Can anyone plz tell me why i am getting errors.
    what is the 'weblogic.application.ModuleException:' error.
    and the HTTP error.

    Hi,
My EAR file size is about 25 MB.this size is becoz of libraries.so i decided to make a jar file of all libraries.and i installed that jar as library on wls10.3. so that my ear apps later refer this jar.by this no need to include the libraries in every EAR and also size of ear is reduced.
In my weblogic-application.xml file i refer this jar using the <library-ref> tag.when i am trying to install ear file i am facing this weblogic.application.ModuleException: error as posted above .
Can you tell me where i went wrong.
Is the way i am doing is right or not.

    <b></b>

    Hi
I would suggest you to do the deployment of the EAR using NWDS rather that using deploy tool. for Doing this please follow this link for creating ,building and deplopying as ear using dev studio
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/08/51ec41b9a24f4a8359c61ae4a02db1/frameset.htm
Anyways if you ar still tied up using deploy tool pleas cross verify that all the dependent jars (including jars which  NgoServerinterface will beusing internally has to be in the classpath . Would be great if you can post the stack trace
hope this helps !<b>  please mark points for helpful answers .</b>
    regards

    Hi Cleber,
Is it possible that you can send me a copy of your original 10.1.2 project which contains these diagrams so that I can take a look? The diagrams should open fine in 10.1.3.0.4.
My email address is [email protected], if you could zip up your project and then change the .zip file extension to .zap to get it through the email server.

  • Error while deploying Java EAR including flex

I am developing Flex + Java in RAD 6.0, codes run correctly.
But when I want to deploy the ear file of the whole application.
Error is raised while deploying the flex folder under
    WEB-INF. Following the detailed information:
Anyone know how to solve this error? Thank you.
    om.ibm.wtp.common.wft.util.WFTWrappedException: Error

what is the actual filename of the remoting-config file?
Is is exactly ".#remoting-config.xml.1.3"? I'm not sure the #
is a legitimate filename character. Looks to me like you're
intending to exclude this file and are 'commenting it out'. Try
removing the file completely, or rename it to something that's
legit. You should be able to find the source for
    org.eclipse.core.internal.resources.Resource.checkExists on google
if that doesn't work, and see what it's doing.
