Deploy eclipse baded plugin using web satrt

Hello,
I have an eclipse plugin that I am trying to deploy online. I found some instructions online but they are not clear.
There are 3 jar files that correspond to 3 eclipse plugins (that correspond to a tool I developed) and a feature.xml.
How do I combine these together?
Do I need to make one common jar file of all the three jar files and then make a JNLP and deploy it?
Thanks for your help.

I have managed to deploy the eclipse plugin application but I ran into a different problem.
Once the JWS downlaods all the jar files, it says Starting Application but nothing happens ;-<
I can't seem to find answers to this on the internet. Please help...

    deployment in eclipse?There are several J2EE plugins I think. One is Lomboz.

    1) Might depend on what you're doing. J2EE is not just JSP, you know?
    2) Why do you ask about Eclipse IDE at Sun's Java Programming forum?
    3) Do you really want me to list the 5000 plug-ins someone might use for J2EE-related development?
    4) Open fucking Google and search yourself
    is eclipse would be a best choice j2ee application
    development?IMO: no. Simply because you have to look for J2EE plugins. I'm too lazy for that. Though it has other benefits that might outweigh the plug-in-searching issue.

  • What is the best way to deploy application that uses web services?

    Hi all,
    I'm having some problems figuring out the best way to deploy our app now that we've switched over to using web services.
    I'm fairly new to Java and web services. From what I understand, JNLP and WebStart are methods to deploy Java clients to users and not for creating war files and the like.
    Here's a little background:
    We have a large PowerBuilder/Oracle application. The db consists of over 500 tables and the client consists of several thousand PB components. A user creates "transactions" which contain a series of "sub-transactions" within. Most of the data is collected and stored locally in the client in a series of datastores. When the "finalize" happens, the records are validated and sent to the database.
    We are in the process of moving each of the subtransactions (currently in the PB client) into subPROCESSES on a java project. We are using the JAX-WS framework to develop the web services in Netbeans. These web services aren't much more than remote xml as the messaging technology. For writing data back to the database, we are using the Java Persistence API to function outside of an EJB container but will shortly be migrating to the Glassfish application server to use several of the EJB container frameworks including the EntityManager.
    We haven't attempted any type of deployment and are unsure of where to start. Any suggestions would be so helpful and appreciated!
    Thanks!

It is for launching rich client GUI based (AWT, Swing, SWT..) applications onto the end-user's desktop.
    There are some parts of JWS that might seem peripherally useful to the installation of a web-app., but it is really not a 'good fit'.

    ..Any suggestions would be so helpful and appreciated!>You might try the forums for the 'web tier' APIs.

    Or perhaps the forum 'Java Technologies for Web Services' (under 'enterprise technologies')

    This one in 'BigAdmin' seems particularly relevant, 'Set up and Deploy'

  • Using Web Dynpro WDUrlGenerator from within J2EE Application deployed on NW

    I have two applications deployed on a NetWeaver Application Server 2004s.
    1. A Web Dynpro application.
    2. A J2EE Application
    What I want to do is to be able to build a url to the Web Dynpro application from within the J2EE application. Obviously the problem is using Web Dynpro classes within the J2EE application.
    So I edited the Java Build Path of the J2EE application to include the werbdynproservices.jar file and exception.jar files by extending ECLIPSE_HOME variable in the libraries section. I also checked them in Order and Export. I verified the built .war file and it does contain the two .jar files.
    This was sufficient to get my project build and deployed, however the servlet in my J2EE application shows NoClassDefFoundException when I run it. My guess is there's more I need to do to get the WDUrlGenerator to run in my J2EE class.
    Is this possible or is there a better way? I am trying to avoid the client having to modify a web.xml for each depployment.
    Thanks in Advance.

    This looks like what I want, but I am unable to test it.
    I found the application-j2ee-engine.xml file under the <project-root>/gen_wdp folder. I then attempted to open it with the SAP EARDD editor. It opens with the Source tab selected. If I try to click the General tab I get an error saying:
    "The source page has errors. Other pages cannot be used until these erros are corrected."
    I see nothing wrong with the XML document. It's source is here:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <application-j2ee-engine>
        <provider-name>local</provider-name>
        <modules-additional>
        <module>
          <entry-name>EVENTS_WorkflowNotification.wda</entry-name>
          <container-type>webdynpro</container-type>
        </module>
      </modules-additional>
    </application-j2ee-engine>
    When I deploy the application, everything works fine. I was going to edit the XML document by hand, but of course there is no DTD listed so I don't know what's supposed to go in there without the Editor doing it for me.
    Getting closer. Thanks so much.

  • Deploying a VB dll using some web service and accessing it through java

    I'm new to Web Services Based Programming. I would like to know whether this is possible and if so has anyone tried it. I want to create a vb dll that contains the remote methods that the client will access from a java program. After going thru a lot of articles, I'm still unsure on how to do this. I found one method was to Create a VB program/dll, deploy it in a web service and create the java program that accesses by another web service.
    I'm doing this as part of my lab syllabus. The thing is My lab exercises do not state anything about the technologies that I can use to do this.
    This is all that is stated there:-
    Creation Of DLL Using VB And Deploy it in Java
    I just cant get any ideas other than deploying both the parts as web services. If anyone has Better ideas for this, I would really appreciate it.
    I dont know anything about CORBA for languages other than Java and I'm already using the servlets and EJB's in my normal life. I'm also learning the ORB based programming in java. Therefore your help will probably help me learn something new then what I know.

    Sorry I wasn't too specific in my last question.
    This is my java class calling the native method print
    //HeyWorld.java
    class HeyWorld {
    private native void print();
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    new HeyWorld().print();
    static {
    System.loadLibrary("HeyWorld");
    In this case, my C method for calling a C++ method: HelloWorld.cpp
    #include "jni.h"
    #include "stdio.h"
    #include "stdafx.h"
    #Include "HeyWorld.h" //this is where i get my function prototype
    #include "Test.h" //this is the C++ header where the print method and the Test class is
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL
    Java_HeyWorld_print(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj)
    CTest a; //CTest is the print class I created
    a.print();
    //This is the header for Test.h
    class CTest: public CWinApp
    public:
         CTest(); //constructor
         void print(); //our method
    //And this is the implementation of the class Test.cpp
    void CTest::print()
         printf("Hey World!\n");
         return ;
    I could compile the Test.cpp, HeyWorld.cpp successfully. However when I tried to compile HeyWorld.cpp using
    cl -I<path of jdk include> -I<path of jdk include win32> -LD HeyWorld.cpp -FeHeyWorld.dll,
    the VC++ 6.0 compiler gave me this error:
    HeyWorld.obj:error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public:_thiscall CTest::CTest(void)"
    HeyWorld.obj:error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public:_thiscall CTest::print(void)"
    Thanks for the help.

  • Using web start to deploy a web-application WAR

    I am planning to develope a web-application, that will run in my clients as localhost. My client will have a Tomcat server, and he can run that application in his own computer without Internet.
    By times, and when he have access to Internet, i would like that he check the new version of that application(WAR file) in my Server, and if there is new version, then he will update the application (WAR file).
    Is there any possibilite that I can use Web Start to deploy WARs directly tomcat/webapps/ ??
    In all documentation of web start, they use for *.JAR. but there is no place where say that I can't use web start for WebApplication.

    Not that I'm aware of.
    You can upload your new WAR to his Tomcat server if you have access to /manager/html on his Tomcat.

  • Extending CR4E using Eclipse RCP plugin's

    <p>Hi Sean,</p><p>I have not started checking this for myself, so this question is more theoretical.</p><p>I plan to customize and extend CR4E using Eclipse RCP plugin architecture. The two main requirements are to add a custom data-source type/provider to the report wizard, and to add a custom result-set wrapper for the said data-source. Other requiremnets may be more look&feel related.</p><p>Assuming licensing issues are met, I had a few questions.</p><p>1. Are there suitable extension points for this in CR4E</p><p>2. Given your current roadmap, is the api stable.</p><p>Thanks,</p><p>Nathaniel</p>

    <p>Unfortunately, developing against these extension points is not currently supported. We definitely plan to support building against these extension points in the future, but in the initial release this was just not in the timeframe. The extension points are likely to change in future releases and we didn&#39;t want to be bound to the initial definition released in version 1. I will keep you updated when this feature does become available. </p><p>Regards,<br />Sean Johnson (CR4E Product Manager) </p>

  • Using Eclipse Ant tasks - for web service client creation

    Hi,
    I am following Eclipse documentation for creating Axis runtime environment web services and clients using web services Ant tasks.
    As per document when I import Ant files into workspace, files that will be imported are wsgen.xml (Ant file) , axisservice.properties and axisclient.properties but for me these files are not getting imported into the project instead files axis_bujava.properties and axis_bujava.xml are imported.
    Please do let me know if anyone have any ideas on this asap.
    Thanks,

  • How to Use / Configure Eclipse Ganymede to use OC4J in SOA / OAS

    Hi all
    Just wanted to share this with you all,
    For quite a while now I've been trying to get eclipse to add applications and delopy applications to the OC4J embedded in the OAS/SOA but found very little help out there but I seem to have found a work around
    I know that I could have used the OC4J standalone but we needed to use the one in the SOA
    Note that the OC4J found in OAS/SOA components is managed by OPMN so you cannot stop or start it from eclipse however you can deploy applications and BPEL processes to it from eclipse. You can also associate applications with the oc4j in the OAS in your eclipse project. If you need to stop and start OC4J in the OAS, then use opmnctl.
    The reason eclipse will not use OC4J in the SOA/OAS is because eclipse tries to start the OC4J but seeing as that is managed by opmn, it fails but if you had a way of telling eclipse that it it did not need to start the OC4J (it has already been started), then eclipse will use it happily without trying to start it
    Here goes
    Start the SOA/OAS Components using opmnctl startall from command prompt
    In Eclipse Goto Window > Show View> Other > Server > Server
    The Server View should now open up
    Right Click > New > Select your version of the OC4J > Click Next > Point the Oracle J2EE Home to OAS_HOME\j2ee\home > Click Next > Fill in Details as they apply to you > Next > Select Any applications(If any )that you want associated with the OC4J and click Finsh
    The the server state should say “stopped”
    Close Eclipse
    For (OEPE i.e. Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse)
    Open the plugin.xml file found at ECLIPSE_HOME\dropins\wtp\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oc4j_1.5.205.v200805140145\plugin.xml
    If you don’t have the above folder structure, then you maybe using the Standard version of Eclipse Ganymede in which case it may be @ ECLIPSE_HOME \plugins\org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oc4j_1.5.205.v200805140145\plugin.xml
    Search for the following String "<extension point="org.eclipse.wst.server.core.serverTypes">"
    Make sure the id attribute for the serverType element corresponds to your version of the OC4J in the OAS i.e. id="org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oracle10131". This corresponds to 10.1.3.x i.e. 10.1.3.1 and above
    Either change the value of the initialState attribute to initialState="started" ot remove the initialState="stopped"
    Save the file
    If you are using OEPE, then there is a further step, you need to open %ECLIPSE_HOME%\ configuration\org.eclipse.core.runtime and delete .mainData.1. It will be recreated once eclipse starts up again
    It seems that OEPE writes server information to this file and will not read the plugin.xml if this file exists. This rule applies to every change that you make to \plugins\org.eclipse.jst.server.generic.oc4j_1.5.205.v200805140145\plugin.xml
    Startup eclipse
    The server state should now say “started” i.e. if you used initialState="started"
    You should now be able to deploy your BPEL Process or Other application to the OC4J in the OAS
    This workaround is only valid if the SOA Components are running
    Happy programming
    NOTE. If you need to Stop and Start the OC4J, you will need to use opmnctl from outside eclipse. Trying to stop and start the OC4J from eclipse will fail as OC4J in the OAS is managed by OPMN.
    Hope this helps someone out there!!!

  • Deploying a flex/j2ee/blazeDS web in Ubuntu Tomcat 6

    Hi!
    I've create a Web Application (in Eclipse - Flex Plugin on WinXP) and I want to deploy it a Ubuntu tomcat server.
    I've deployed a .WAR file from Eclipse (on WINXP) with the flash files and the J2EE server files (java classes).
    Then I put the WAR file inside the webapps folder on tomcat (in Ubuntu) but only the interface works... the connection with the Server doesn't work.
    For example, I can see the "welcome page" but If i type my login and password and push the "login" button it doesn't work at all (nothing happens).
    Could anybody help me?
    Thanks
    Angel

    Maybe the error is that I didn't create the WAR file correctly:
    I made Export->Web->WAR File over the main folder (project name).
    I've readen that only the WEB-INF is needed... is that correct?
    Thanks

  • Deploying war files on iplanet web server 6.0

    Hello All,
    I tried to deploy an war file on iplanet web server 6.0 using both command line wdeploy and iplanet webserver browser based admin tool. Both the times it did say successfully deployed. I checked the WEB-INF files and it does contain all class files..But the problem is when I try to post a form to one of the class files the error log says as if it cannot find the class file.(I tried the sample app HelloWorld supplied by vendor)
    =========
    05/Mar/2002:13:19:14] config (13777): for host xx.xx.xx.xx trying to POST /samples/helloworld/GreeterServlet, handle-processed reports: The request method is not applicable to this requested resource.
    =================
    any help in this regards is appreciated
    Thanks

    Hello,
    I got few steps to deploy the WAR file, if you followed the same steps and got the error then ignore this else try with this steps.
    a) Set your environment variable IWS_SERVER_HOME to your server_root directory.
    b) Add the server_root/bin/https/httpsadmin/bin directory to your classpath.
    c) Configure your virtual server for web applications.
    From the Server Manager page, select the VirtualServerClass tab, select a Class, and click the Manage button.
    Select a Virtual Server and go to the Java Web Apps Settings page for that virtual server. Make sure that the virtual server has Web Apps State turned On, and web-apps.xml is the name of Web Apps File.
    To extract the sample WAR file HelloWorld.war in server_root/plugins/servlets/examples/web-apps/HelloWorld, use the wdeploy command as follows:
    wdeploy deploy -u /hello -i server.iplanet.com -v testvs -d
    /iws60/https-server.mydomain.com/testvs/web-apps/hello
    /iws60/plugins/servlets/examples/web-apps/HelloWorld/HelloWorld.war
    The syntax for the command is as follows:
    wdeploy deploy -u uri_path -i instance -v vs_id [-d directory] war_file
    uri_path Specify the URI prefix (a path to access the web application from the browser).
    instance Specify the server instance name. (Note: Do not include "https" in the front.)
    vs_id Specify the Virtual Server name as it appears on the Manage Virtual Servers page.
    directory Specify a directory to extract WAR files. If this directory doesn't exist already, it will be created for you now.
    war_file Specify the name of the WAR file.
    If the WAR file is extracted successfully, the message "web application deploy successful" appears at the command line.
    For verification, go to the /iws60/https-server.iplanet.com/testvs/web-apps/hello directory. It should have the following contents:
    colors
    index.jsp
    META-INF
    WEB-INF/
    web.xml
    /classes/
    HelloWorldServlet.class
    HelloWorldServlet.java
    SnoopServlet.class
    SnoopServlet.java
    In the server_instance/config directory, the web-apps.xml file should have the following entry:
    <vs>
    <web-app uri="/hello"
    dir="/iws60/https-server.iplanet.com/testvs/web-apps/hello"/>
    </vs>
    Restart the server instance from the command line or go to the admin GUI and apply configuration changes to the server instance.
    Now when you access the webserver instance in your browser, the Error log of that server instance will record successful initialization of the web application environment(web-apps.xml) for the virtual server(vs name). You can access the web application from a browser as follows:
    http://server.Mydomain.com:80/hello/index.jsp
    or:
    http://server.Mydomain.com/hello/
    The syntax is as follows:
    http://vs_urlhost[:vs_port]/uri_path/[index_page]
    Thanks
    Selva

  • WDeploy to Websphere6 can't use Webi application

    After installing BOE 3.1 with default setting( Tomcat) successfully, I used Wdeploy to deploy to WebSphere6, but can view CR, can't view Webi Report, or new Webi Document. This behaviour is the same in both InfoView and CMC.
    As I don't find a way to Attach files, I briefly list webiError, and the log file during the wdeploy command below.
    AnyOne can help to point the reason?
    Thanks in advance for the help!
