Deploying Application freezing at 9%....Very Urgent

Hi Gurus,
We have installed Oracle EPM 11.1.1.1 on Windows 2003(vmware) and configured HFM. We have created profile, When we were trying to deploy one sample application from 9.3 system, progress was freezing at 9%.
Its showing Details as below in Summary:

Hi,
The problem can also be resolved by having latest planning patches (preferrably 9.3.1.1.9)
You can also Restart the planning server after every deployment to avoid getting "Out Of Memory Error".

Deploying PLL file in Application Server (oracle IAS10g) VERY URGENT

I have some doubts abt PLL files.(PL sql Libraries)
I tried to use PLL in Windows and it runs fine.
When I tries to use that pll on Linux Advanced Server 3 using Oracle IAS10g, The Function in the pll is not accessible.
What am I doing wrong??
1.In Which path I have to deploy the PLL file
2. Is the PLL file is compiled
3. How to make a Linux Version out of it?

As u said, We have compiled the pll file in linux application server The compilation of the pll file was successful. And then compiled the form in linux application server. But still the same problem occurs. We have also checked the case sensitivity. Actually the form is working very well in the Wndows machine.

Forms Application(custom built) freezes at random. Urgent!!

We have a forms application built in 6i and deployed on 9i Rel1 application server.
Database is Oracle 9i Rel2.
The forms application freezes at random with no errors.
The jinitiator version is 1.1.8.19.
The forms has scroll bars and most of them are tabbed canvas on plain canvas.
Any suggestion will be greately appriciated. Please help.

It is very difficult to say why you are experiencing a performance issue. I do recall that one of the JInitiator versions did have a problem which caused some minor performance issues. If you are not using version 1.3.1.30 (the last version created) I would recommend using it. Also, here are some things to consider,
1. If the client machines are old and outdated, you likely will experience performance problems as the products you run on it are replaced with newer ones. For example, if you were previously running JInit 1.1.8 on an under powered WinXP, NT or older machine and are now running Jinit 1.3.1.x, I would expect poor performance.
2. The form will be slow to start the first time you run it with the new JRE (JInit). This is because the jar file(s) as well as other files must be downloaded and cached. After this occurs, future attempts should startup somewhat quicker.
3. If the first form/canvas that is presented to the end-user in your application contains a large number of gui objects (text boxes, buttons, etc), this will delay startup. Creating a splash or welcome screen which contains a very limited number of objects can help to increase startup performance or at least the perception.
4. On the server (mid tier), do not access application files across network shares. For example if "Forms" is running on a machine called "myMachine" all of the Forms modules (fmx, mmx, plx) files should be on the same machine, "myMachine". Accessing these files remotely will degrade performance.
5. In all cases, having sufficient RAM on the client and server are an important factor to ensuring the best possible performance. Of course a fast CPU is always helpful too, but generally most machine are short of memory and not CPU.

In answer to your first question: In most apache installs, you want to place all your JSPs under the Apache/htdocs directory. This htdocs directory becomes the root directory of your HTTP request, so, for example, to access the file
Apache/htdocs/mydir/myJSP.jsp
you'd point your browser to
server:port/mydir/myJSP.jsp]http://server:port/mydir/myJSP.jsp

A very urgent deployment issue about DBAdapter

Hello All,
I have a very urgent deployment issue about DBAdapter.
That DBAdapter is connect to DB2 AS400 Database. I have a developing database (jdbc:as400://server01/TEST) and a production database (jdbc:as400://server01/PROD).
During developing, I used DBAdapter wizard to create it, and import some tables, and set the Adapter to use jabc/DB2DS as connection information for easily deployment later.
Then I deploy to Production. I configured Data-source.xml and oc4j-ra.xml rightly; I set DB connection point to production database. But the DBAdapter still write into developing Database.
I checked the DBAdapter, the imported tables are something like this, TEST.table1, TEST.table2. And there are a lot "TEST" located in DB2Writer_toplink_mapping.xml, DB2Writer.xml, TEST.schema, DB2Writer.table1.ClassDescriptor.xml.
This TEST is refrer to the TEST in connect String jdbc:as400://server01/TEST.
I think this might be the reason cause the problem. As to production database, "TEST" should replaced by "PROD". If I changed it manually, I have to change every time when switch between TEST and PROD. And I also don't know if it is safe to do it? (I tried, and bring some toplink mapping problem)
By the way, for Oracle Database, because we use 2 instances for testing and production with same schema name, and do not have this issue.

Hi Kerr,
The idea is to set up all connections in the BPEL or ESB services with logical names, e.g. typically of the form eis/DB/MyFinancialSystem or eis/DB/MyLogisticsSystem. This way, you do not have to modify code when deploying it onto different environments that serve different purposes.
When moving your services through their lifecyle, on every environment you deploy these to you will have the same logical connections configured on each instance, e.g. for DEV, QA, SIT, UAT and PROD. Only, in case of QA the actual physical connection is configured to point to the QA instance of the systems that your services interact with whereas in case of UAT it points to the UAT instance of the same system.
Maybe your problem is caused by connecting as user "SomeUser" when running the DB Adapter wizard during development and actually selecting objects from a different schema than you used to connect with, e.g. "Test" in your case.

You're really not supposed to manage a non-Apps mode EUL and an Apps mode data within the same URL. Having said that, I have a hunch you just might be able to do it and there are 2 ways. You can either make the data available to user who login using E-Business Suite credentials or you can make it available to users who have database credentials. The first one is straightforward and you do it just like any other data. Let me give you some hints regarding the second method.
First of all I ahve not personally tried this and you may find that because Discoverer was initially set up in Apps mode that somewhere down the line it will make the suers connect this way. However, the following is worth a try.
I would a new schema in the Oracle E-Business database to manage the link to BRM and create a database link from this user to a user in the BRM database. You will also need to create user accounts within the database for anyone who needs to login and run BRM reports.
Next, I would create views in this new schema pointing at data across the BRM link, thus allowing Discoverer to think these are local objects.
In Discoverer Administrator, you would need to log in to Discoverer using the owner of the EUL - NOT using SYSADMIN or any of the other E-Business Suite accounts. You should log in with the Oracle Applications checkbox unchecked. You can now create new business areas on the BRM data. You should also be able to assign users to Discoverer privileges and users to business areas.
Using the same URL you would have Apps users connect using the E-Business Suite item on the drop-down for logging in and you would have BPM users choose the Business Intelligence Discoverer item.

Deploying EJB in Weblogic 8.1 very very urgent

I had followed the logic Mr Mark has told me. But it did not work. Please
the attached files.
1. I had copied all of my class files into META-INF directory.
my SampleObject.jar file contains as follows.
jar -tvf SampleObject.jar gives
.META-INF
.Sample.class, SampleHome.class, SampleBean.class, SampleClient.class and
ejb-jar.xml,
weblogic-ejb-jar.xml files.
I did not package my class files. instead i had deployed it in META-INF.
Further I made one more attempt as follows.
My server is called myserver.
so I copied all of my class files, SampleObject.jar files into the following
directory.
C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\myserver\upload directory. This is the
directory
where weblogic copies the SampleObject.jar files.
It did not work at all.
Please help me.

I suggest you start with something simple that works. And then go from
there, modifing it one bit at a time and ensuring that it still works. Your
jar tf output is all munched up so it is hard to follow. I suggest you
start with
$WL_HOME/samples/server/examples/src/examples/splitdir/helloWorldEar/
See how it builds the ear and the ejb jars and go from there.
You can do:
ant ear
and
examine the contents from there.
Alternatively you can use Workshop to build an EJB as well.
PS. Your classes dont go into META-INF. But rather than go through the
entire exercise of getting your app working I suggest as noted above you
start from a known and modify.

Very Urgent...Please Help..Invoking Windows Applications

I capture the Windows Desktop screen and saved it as a .jpg file. I then display the .jpg file on frame ( whose size is that of the screen ). Now if i click on the frame, the corresponding Window's application should be invoked ( i.e if I click on the frame where the Start Menu is shown, then the Start Menu should be opened ). Not so easy.A JPG file is a compressed map of a "picture",nothing more. So , You have to get a reference to an object of this map - You can't save to a simple file (JPG) and expect to do what you want to do.Think something else , not a simple snapshot.In Win98 you have a directory "Desktop" where are all of your icons , in Win2000 you have to search in "Documents and settings\User_name\" or something like this to find the same directory and get all icons.Therefrom look for "Properties" and find the path to execute the exe file.It must be something like this I think.Hope have been helpfull.

Hope all of you are doing good ! I am facing an issue relating to deploying applications using the Enterprise manager. When i deploy the war file using Deploy WAR file option in the OEM, i get the following error -
Failed to deploy web application "gCube". Failed to deploy web application "gCube". . The configuration files for this OracleAS 10G instance are inconsistent with the
configuration stored in the repository. In order to protect the repository,
no further configuration or deployment operations are allowed until the problem with the configuration on the filesystem is resolved. This condition arises when a prior operation was unsuccessful. The exception associated with this failed operation is:

. Please also check the logs located at
ORACLE_HOME/dcm/logs to determine why DCM was unsuccessful in updating
the configuration files on disk. Some possible causes are:
* permissions on files
* file contention issues on Windows NT
* internal Oracle error
After resolving the problem that prevented DCM from updating the configuration
files, you may use the dcmctl resyncInstance command to resolve the problem.
Alternatively, you can stop and then restart the active dcmctl or EMD
process and resyncInstance will automatically be performed.

Can I implement 2 phase commit in a standalone java application ?
I access multiple databases with different connection objects in a single class in a single transaction. But how do I implement the 2 phase commit manually in a java standalone application.
Please note that I dont have any environment(like server, jndi etc.,) where i can deploy the datasources.
So pls let me know whether i can implement distributed transactions in this scenario.
