Deploying DBServlet w/ Java WebServer

I am deploying my first DBServlet developed w/ JDeveloper 3.0. I am deploying using Java Web Server 2.0. The servlet works fine in the development environment, however not in the deployed environment.
I have read and followed the deployment instructions to the letter, I hope. Unfortunately I can't get past the login prompt. Once I hit connect, I get a "Not Found (404)" error. The servlet appears to be launching because I am getting the login prompt but fails from that point with the error above.
Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to confirm the actual name of your servlet
by checking the statement:
setServletName("/servlets/DbServlet1");
^ This should be the URL used to invoke your DBServlet.
in your DBServlet.
This statement allows the servlet to call itself. For example when logging in ..etc.
Hope this helps..

    hi all,
    Need help on the following. My environment is Liunx OS and Sun Java Webserver installed on Linux
    I added the following lines to Sun Java Webserver's magnus.conf file to include my NSAPI filter.
         Init fn="load-modules" shlib="/space/esnta068-1/SUNWwbsvr/plugins/vgnnsapi6.so" funcs="vgn_init,vgn_nametrans"
         Init fn="vgn_init" PZN_AUTO_COOKIE_TRACKING="true" PZN_AUTO_URL_TRACKING="true"
    and the magnus.conf file after adding the above is as follows. I made necessary changes to obj.conf file also.
    # The NetsiteRoot, ServerName, and ServerID directives are DEPRECATED.
    # They will not be supported in future releases of the Web Server.

    Hi Sujana,
    For deploying Web Dynpro for Java application, J2EE_admin correct password must be stored in the scured area of config tool.
    Your error show that J2EE_admin information is not correct.
    So, Please ask your basis team to update new J2EE_ADMIN password or you can do it in scured area of config tool.
    Hope this will helps you.

  • How to deploy and debug java web service in eclipes or using any other soft

    Hai,
    can any one tell me how to deploy and debug java web service in eclipes or using any other software.
    i have used tomcat web server and jdk1.4.0 to develop web service.
    we have used web service to interact with MS outlook .
    bye
    sudhakar.m

    Hi Sudhakar,
    If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
    You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
    Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
    I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.
    Hope this helps

  • How to deploy the custom java application for self regaistration in portal?

    hi,
    I have created a custom java application in NWDS for Self Registration of new users.I am working on EP 7.02 and the standard self registration application is a Web dynpro java application.
    How can i deploy my custom java application built as a par file in place of the Web dynpro java application?
    Thanks,

    Hi Amarys,
    If you have developed the PAR file in NWDS then you can deploy the PAR in the server with NWDS ( [Check Required Settings |NWDS 7.0 does not deploy PAR;) or in server directly (system administrator > support >> portal runtime >> administration console)

  • NetBeans 6.1 and Java WebServer 7 problem under OpenSolaris

    Hello, I have a big problem with NetBeans 6.1 (all upgrade installed) and Sun Java Webserver 7.0 (release 7.0U3 B06/16/2008 10:24); running under OpenSolaris snv_101a (2008.11 RC2).
    The web server is installed into /opt/webserver7/ and run fine, but when I try to add it as a server under NetBeans 6.1 I receive the error about +/opt/webserver7/+ isn't a correct directory.
    Any hint?
    PS: the NetBeans plugin for the WebServer version is 1.6

    Can you report it in NetBeans mailing lists [http://www.netbeans.org/community/lists/top.html|http://www.netbeans.org/community/lists/top.html] and [http://forums.netbeans.org/|http://forums.netbeans.org/] as well?

    Hi
    How do you deploy a normal Java application onto the Sun server...what are the required config files one needs to set etc

    You might want to start with the Java EE 5 tutorial, available here :

  • A Short Recipe for Creating a secure Java Webserver

    This is a short note describing how I was able to implement a Java server on a secure website. I am writing this because I hope the rest of you will be able to navigate the SSL minefield more easily than I was able to do.
    I want to thank Brad Wetmore and Sean Mullan in the Sun Microsystems Java Security group. Without their help, I would never have been successful.
    For more detailed reading, see http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/tools/solaris/keytool.html#EXAMPLES
    1. Generate a public/private keypair and certificate for a webserver using keytool. The name of my product is FIRMS (Fully Integrated Resort Management System). You will see "firms" a lot in what follows. Fill in your own data under the "-dname" parameter. Note that if you run keytool so that it prompts you for this information, the first thing keytool will ask you to provide is your First Name and Last Name, although this field is also referred to as the Common Name. In SSL/TLS, the Common Name is the hostname of the website you'll be setting up. It probably would have been better if keytool had prompted for "Common Name" instead of First Name and Last Name. Just keep this in mind if you go through the keytool prompts. If you use the "-dname" parameter, as I have done here, you will not have to go through keytool's prompts. Also, note that the "-dname" information I provided is for a very small business, not a larger corporation.
    keytool -genkeypair -alias firms -keyalg RSA -dname "cn=www.firmsglobal.com, ou=FIRMSGlobal, o=James Morris, l=Scottsdale, st=Arizona, c=US" -keystore foo
    2. Generate a CSR (Certificate Signing Request).
    keytool -certreq -alias firms -file firmsglobal.csr -keystore foo
    3. Send the CSR to a trusted Certificate Authority (CA). I used GoDaddy. When the CA website asks you to provide a key, open the ".csr" file, copy it, and paste it into the website text area. Be sure to copy and paste the entire ".csr" file. Depending on the CA you are using, they will ask you what kind of server you are using. In most cases, choose "other". It really doesn't matter. Be absolutely sure you save the keystore file "foo". Back it up. Whatever you do, do not modify it or delete it. Save it. Got that?
    4. Eventually the CA will provide you with one or more "reply" files ending (most likely) in ".cer" or ".crt". You might have to go into a repository to get the right "cross" files and "intermediate" files.
    5. You must import the files provided by the CA back into your original keystore file. Remember that file? That is the one you saved. Above, I called it "foo".
    6. Use the following keytool commands to import the files back into your original keystore file "foo". My CA provided me with 1 root file, 1 cross file, and 1 intermediate file, as well as my "real" certification file, which is called "www.firmsglobal.com.crt". Look again in step 1 above. Note that I used the alias "firms" to generate the public/private keypairs. You must use the same alias when you import the "real" certification reply file from the CA into the keystore file "foo". Note that I can use any alias name I wish on the first three lines below, but the fourth line is the command that will replace the self-signed certificate I generated in step 1 with the "real" certification reply file from the CA. The alias used in the fourth line must always match the alias used in step 1. Note that it might not always be necessary to perform lines one through three.
    keytool -importcert -alias root -trustcacerts -keystore foo -file valicert_class2_root.cer"
    keytool -importcert -alias cross -trustcacerts -keystore foo file gd_cross_intermediate.cer"
    keytool -importcert -alias intermed -trustcacerts -keystore foo -file gd_intermediate.cer"
    keytool -importcert -alias firms -trustcacerts -keystore foo -file "www.firmsglobal.com.crt"
    7. Here is the Java code I use to read the keystore. The string "keystore" holds the name of the keystore file. The string "keystorepass" is a char[] that holds the keystore password. The string "keypassword" is a char[] that holds the private key password. I might have these two passwords reversed. I used the same password for the keystore and the private key, but this is not recommended.
    try {
          KeyStore ks = KeyStore.getInstance("JKS");
          ks.load(new FileInputStream(keystore), keystorepass);
          KeyManagerFactory kmf = KeyManagerFactory.getInstance("SunX509");
          kmf.init(ks, keypassword);
          SSLContext sslcontext = SSLContext.getInstance("SSLv3");
          sslcontext.init(kmf.getKeyManagers(), null, null);
          SSLServerSocketFactory ssf = sslcontext.getServerSocketFactory();
          sslServerSocket = (SSLServerSocket) ssf.createServerSocket(securePortNumber);
    } catch (Exception e) {
          handleSocketException(e,"Server cannot listen on port ",securePortNumber);
    };

    Whenever the user selects a file, you can call the setCurrentDirectory method on the JFileChooser, with the getParentFile() method to return the directory of the selected file.
    For example :
    JFileChooser chooser = new JFileChooser();
    if (chooser.showOpenDialog(null) == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) {
       File f = chooser.getSelectedFile();
       if (f.isFile()) {
           chooser.setCurrentDirectory(f.getParentFile());

  • " APPLICATION NOT FOUND"  while deploying Web dynpro java Application

    Hi, I am getting a message that "application not found " While deploying the web dynpro java application .......... please give me a solution for this .

    Hi Ram,
    This error comes generally when your webdynpro project does not have an application. To create an application in your webdynpro project follow the underlying steps:
    <Project>->WebDynpro->Applications ---> right click and create New Application.
    Follow the steps to create the application.
    Now if you create archive and deploy, it will not give you the error again.
    Best Regards,
    Ravi

    I heard that by changing some configuration values, we can resolve the problem (like adjusting -Xms & - Xmx parameters as well as the Max threads). But i don't know in which script/ tool should i find these settings to change.
    Could you please share your knowledge in this regard,
    Best regards,
    Sudheesh...

    Hi
    You can change the XMX and thread  parameter in the Visual Administrator.

  • How to Deploy a Simple Java Web service in Oracle E Business Suite Server

    Hi,
    I have created a simple Java webservice using Jdev11g.
    I am able to Test the Webservice using Jdev11g itself.
    How Can i migrate the same to Oracle E Busienss Suite( - 9iAS ) so that webservice clients connect to 9iAS instead of my local machine
    Thanks,
    Gowtam.

  • Deploy package with Java Stored Procedure without JDeveloper

    I have a set of Java Stored Procedures deployed as a package on a Oracle 8i server. Everything works fine in my development environment, and now I would like to deploy the same package in the customers runtime environment. Both environments are running Oracle 8i rel 2 on NT.
    Is there a simple way to use the JDeveloper .prf deployment profile without installing JDeveloper in the customers environment?
    If not, can I the get the .jar files and .sql scripts from JDeveloper to create the call specs and package bodys?
    I guess JDeveloper must have this information, and my idea was then to write a script using loadjava and SQL*Plus.
    Regards,
    Tom Bjerre

    you would not be able to take just the deployment profile and run it outside JDeveloper.
    You would be able to create archive of all java classes in the package using Deployment Wizard in JDeveloper.
    Then you can load the jar file using the utilities in 8i.
    JDeveloper does generate the SQL for CALL specs etc ., at the deployment time and it is printed in MEssage Viewer along with other information.
    Hope that info is useful for you
