Deploying EJBs on multiple nodes

Hi,
Our Application works when we deploy it on a single node. But the moment we deploy
it with multiple nodes,we are getting a exception:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/bind/UnmarshalException
at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:120)
Our deployment looks correct for me.
We have specified each node in the target like:
<EJBComponent Name="ecommerce" Targets="monode3,monode2,monode1,monode4,monode5,monode6"
URI="ecommerce.jar"/>
Any clues from anyone?
Thanks,
Jeeva

You didn't give the full stack trace. No thread starts executing at
Class.forName ;-)
What's happening is that you are dealing with XML, probably in your
clustered EJBs or in your HTTP session, and so it's getting replicated. The
XML pops out onto the other end of the wire, the code loaded from the system
classpath tries to deserialize it, but can't find your application classes.
That's a common problem with object transfer protocols.
Do you know where you are using javax/xml?

  • Error while deploying EJB on OAS 4.0.8.1

    I have installed OAS 4.0.8.1 on Windows NT 4.0 with Support Pack 6a. The java compiler used is from JDK 1.1.6 provided with OAS.
    The following error occurs while deploying EJB on OAS. The error is the same while deploying through the node manager or by using oasdeploy command line utility.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFound Error
    Code generation for
    D:\\orant\\ows\\upload\\425BrowserBean.jar failed!
    Creating registration files.....
    Unable to expand attribute Unable to load from C:\temp\src425\oasbae.properties
    Please let me know the possible causes for non deployment of the bean on OAS.
    null

    With JDev 3.1, we only support deployment to OAS 4.0.8.2.
    JDev 3.0 supported deployment to OAS 4.0.8.1.
    I believe most of this restriction is due to internal changes in OAS that we were only able to integrate with 3.1.

  • Cluster Apex MS's across multiple nodes for load balancing?

    Can Cluster Apex MS's across multiple nodes for load balancing? If Yes/No, any supportive doc's will be much appreciated.
    Here is what I did ..........
    I tried multiple MS's on different nodes for Apex Domain (clustered)
    Deployed apex.war, i.war with targets pointing to cluster.
    Apex listener techstack is shared filesystem $HOME/apex, where apex-config.xml and bdb are available
    Anyone of the MS's whichever started up first is locking up bdb and 500 server shows up when internal workspace is being launched with host specific url, where as it works fine for the host which actually locked up bdb (first MS that was started)
    2nd MS shows errors as below in log files ..
    Caused By: com.sleepycat.je.EnvironmentLockedException: (JE 4.0.103)$HOME/apex/bdb The environment cannot be locked for single writer access. ENV_LOCKED: The je.lck file could not be locked. Environment is invalid and must be closed.
    Its expected behavior until here .....
    ++++ I tried something to get it working ++++
    Whilst both MS's are up and running, delete $HOME/apex/bdb but let apex-config,xml be as it is...now the internal workspace urls for both hosts work fine. I logged into host specific urls and navigated, created/edited users.,etc and it is all looking good but it did not create new bdb directory under $HOME/apex ...!!
    Having said its working fine, the same issue repeats after the MS's bounce. So I did put a command line to delete bdb dir once the MS comes up to avoid the issue but really not sure if this is the right way at all?
    Geek's ...awaiting your advice!!

    Hey there,
    I managed to fulfill my requirement..
    If its a cluster on same machine or across machines, this should work
    1. Login to machine, cd $DOMAIN_HOME
    2. mkdir -p Apex_lsn_config/AdminServer Apex_lsn_config/<MS1> Apex_lsn_config/<MS2> # MS1 and MS2 are the Managed Server names as appropriate
    #If you are planning for cluster spawning MS's across machines, make sure you create the dir's on step 2 for each machine respectively. (in my case $DOMAIN_HOME is not shared)
    3. Copy apex-config.xml from the /tmp/apex or whatever location you have it currently to Apex_lsn_config/<MS1> Apex_lsn_config/<MS2>
    4. cd $DOMAIN_HOME/bin; cp -p SetDomainEnv.sh SetDomainEnv.sh.orig #Backup the file
    5. Append -Djava.io.tmpdir in SetDomainEnv.sh as below for JAVA_OPTIONS # Do it on both machine if you are not sharing DOMAIN_HOME and planning cluster across machines
    -Djava.io.tmpdir=$DOMAIN_HOME/APEX_CONFIG/${SERVER_NAME}
    Hint: Search for "iterativeDev" and append the same line with -Djava.jo.tmpdir
    6. Modify "java.io.tmpdir" from the web.xml file of apex.war as below and re-deploy the war
    <context-param>
         <param-name>config.dir</param-name>
         <param-value>${java.io.tmpdir}</param-value>
    </context-param>
    7. Bounce Weblogic Admin and Manged Servers. Make sure to tail the Managed Server log to see apex-config.xml is picked from the new location.
    8. Brew a Coffee for yourself :)
    - You find the instructions on creating a cluster from weblogic documentation, the steps mentioned above are only to overcome the bdb locking issue whilst creating a cluster.
    Did it help?

  • Multiple-node WebCenter Spaces config with default file-based policy

    hi,
    My customer will use web center 11g on multiple linux server, I noticed there is a comment in wc doc like this:
    =========================================
    The default file-based policy store can only be used for single-node WebCenter Spaces configurations. For multi-node configurations, you must reassociate the policy and credential store with an external LDAP-based store (such as Oracle Internet Directory) as described in Section 23.4, "Configuring the Policy and Credential Store."
    The policy store can be configured to use Oracle Internet Directory 11gR1 and 10.1.4.3, and OVD 11gR1 with the Local Store Adapter (LSA).
    The identity store can be configured to use the following LDAP servers:
    Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11gR1 and 10.1.4.3
    Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11gR1 and 10.1.4
    Sun iPlanet version 4.1.3
    Active Directory shipped as part of Windows 2000
    Open LDAP version 2.0.7
    Novell NDS version 8.5.1
    ========================================
    My customer only has AD, they don't have budget to buy oid at this time, according to the statement "The policy store can be configured to use Oracle Internet Directory 11gR1 and 10.1.4.3, and OVD 11gR1 with the Local Store Adapter (LSA).", does that mean the wc policy store can not use other ldap such as ad in multiple-node wc configuration?
    If performance is not an issue, can I use default file-based policy store in this case?
    If it's impossible for the customer to buy oid at this time, what's the possible solution?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards

    You can configure directly with AD.
    Basically your WebLogic server needs to be configured to talk to AD. You can configure an Identity provider in Weblogic server which uses AD as LDAP.
    This should work in multi-node environment.
    Also, i do not see any reason why file based jazn-data should not work.
    Best solution from my perspective if Weblogic AD configuration does not work:
    Create and manage your users and roles in Weblogic embedded LDAP. All you have to change in your application is the realm to the name of weblogic realm(default is myrealm) and while deploying make sure you uncheck the create users and roles.

    Does anybody knows what must be going wrong?
    Can't I deploy EJB 1.1 jar directly on Weblogic 10.3.0.0 or I need to change or configure something before doing it?

    Does the ejbCreate() method of the com.package.ejbimpl.RemoteServicesEjb class have an exception on it's throws clause that is not present on the ejbCreate() method of your home interface? If so, does the error go away if you add the exception to the home's ejbCreate() method? In general, you want checked exceptions in a throws clause to match between the interface declaration of the method and the implementation of the method on the bean class.

    JDeveloper came with JDK version 1.2.2, but I'm using

    But when I try to deploy this it gives me an error message saying

    I am wondering about the classes in the database. This is from metalink.
    SELECT count(*)
    FROM dba_objects
    WHERE object_type LIKE '%JAVA%';
    If the above query returns a number < 4000, the installation was not
    successful.
    The query below checks for any invalid Java classes using a Java stored procedure:
    SELECT dbms_java.longname(name)
    FROM sys.obj$
    WHERE type# = 29 and status != 1;
    If the above query fails or returns any rows, then something is wrong with the JVM installation.
    You can also test the Jserver by using the examples in
    $OH/javavm/demo/examples/corba/basic/helloworld
    or
    $OH/javavm/demo/examples/ejb/basic/helloworld
    To compile classes in the database

  • Calling a newly deployed EJB from an EJB gives a NoSuchMethod Exception if the jar of the newly deployed ejb is not in the classpath

    Hi ,
    I have an EJB A which is already deployed when the server starts. A second ejb

    EJB A calls methods in EJB B. I use reflection in EJB A to call methods in EJB

    The problem is the EJBs which are called from EJB A is not known before the server

    I also use the URLClassLoader to load all the classes in the jar file of the newly

    Hi,
    I am attaching a test case. This test case actually demonstrates a security bug.
    Unzip the file and modify the StartWeblogic.cmd in domainA to not refer to the
    SampleRemoteEJB.jar in the classpath. If u run the test client under the client
    dir u will see a NoSuchMethodException.
    The reason is it is not able to load the dynamically generated stub file.
    Initially I had the getMethod and it didn't work. You might have to modify the
    files to suit ur env. The easier way is to run th edomain wizard and create 2
    domains. Run the servers in development mode and place the jars under the applications
    dir

    Try changing your call to getDeclaredMethod() to getMethod().
    getDeclaredMethod() searches only the class you called it on, whereas
    getMethod() traverses to the superclasses and interfaces. You onlyneed
    getDeclaredMethod() when you're accessing a nonpublic method.
    Not sure if this will help, but it's worth a shot.

  • BW 3.5 works with multiple nodes for authorizations

    Hi,
    Does BW 3.5 allow to do authorizations on mutiple nodes? It seems that from the How to wotk with hierarchy authorizations paper, the variable can only allow filtering 1 node. for 2.0B. We have requirements to allow viweing multiple nodes in a hierarchy.
    Thanks

    Hi Will,
    creat a hierarchy-node variable fill by authorizations in the frontend. The type has to be multiple entries (not single value). In RSSM at the hierarchy authorization creation you have to use the F4 for selecting nodes. The F4 allows to drag more nodes into the right frame.

  • BizTalk Mapper - Looping multiple nodes to map to a single node in a single row (flat file)

    Hi everybody,
    I'm still new in developing BizTalk app and require some help in this one problem. Appreciate your time and input to help me on this.
    Basically I have an XML document as input and a flat file as output. Example for input is as per below. The "Contact" node's maxOccurs here is set to unbounded and could be multiple. (phone, fax, website, telex ...)
    <root>
    <CustomerName>Company A</CustomerName>
    <Contact>
    <Type>Phone</Type>
    <Locator>03566789</Locator>
    <Type>Phone</Type>
    <Locator>03566790</Locator>
    <Type>Fax</Type>
    <Locator>03566795</Locator>
    <Type>Telex</Type>
    <Locator>03566798</Locator>
    <Type>Website</Type>
    <Locator>www.companyA.com</Locator>
    </Contact>
    </root>
    The expected output in XML would look like below. The final outcome would be a csv file. Strictly Phone 1, phone 2, fax and telex, the rest would be ignored.
    <root>
    <CustomerName>Company A</CustomerName>
    <Phone1>03566789</Phone1>
    <Phone2>03566790</Phone2>
    <Fax>03566795</Fax>
    <Telex>03566798</Telex>
    </root>
    Example of expected output result (csv file): CompanyName;Phone1;Phone2;Fax;Telex;
    In our case here: Company A;03566789;03566790;03566795;03566798;
    Another example could be: Company B;036778911;;036778912;; if only 1 phone number and 1 fax number provided.
    I've used Table Looping and Table Extractor and nearly got the desired result except that it is represented in multiple rows instead of one: Example:
    Company A;03566789;;;
    Company A;;03566790;;;
    Company A;;;03566795;;
    Company A;;;;03566798;
    Any idea how to do the mapping? I'm kind of stuck here and it sounds like an easy problem but i could not find any example to the solution that I need here. Table looping and table extractor is ok to map from single node flat file to multiple nodes but not
    the reverse like in this example.

  • How to create multiple nodes for a feature in PE03

    Hi Specialists,
    I have a requirement for australia where we need to maintain multiple nodes  in a feature ( Tcode : PE03).
    Action Type      Action Reason
    L6                      00
                              01
    L7                      06
                              08
    L2                      01
    Issue is : 1) How can we maintian the above values in a feature tree.
                    2) The SAP standard structure is using PME14 but PME14 does not contain the 2 above mentioned
                         fields i.e.( Action Type & Action Reason). Istead it is contained in structure PME04 .
                        SO how can we modify the SAP standard structure.
                    3) The above strucure PME14 is being read in an SAP standard report RPCPSPQ0 :
                         i.e Payment Summary Report tcode: PC00_M13_PSGEN . If we want to accomodate the new requirement for        australia does that mean we need to modify SAP standard report / or is there a user exit/BADI available to avoid making changes to SAP standard report.
    Please suggest.

    Can you please supply the name of the Feature you are trying to use?  it will help to understand the full picture.

    -to solve this issue we just delete the cache and restart the Managed server.
    Please tell me what is the cause of this error and how can we fix it permanently, as restarting the server everytime is not very convenient.
    TIA,

    If i remove the "set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Dlog4j.configuration=log4j.properties" from the weblogic statrup script and install the EAR it will be installed , but the logger is not initialized.
    If the option "set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Dlog4j.configuration=log4j.properties" added to the startup script and i deployed the OLD EJB 2.0 app , it is installed successfully, but it didnt let me deploy EJB 3.0 app.
    I am hitting my head around it for a day now, no success so far..
    Please provide you suggestions , thanks a lot to all in advance.
    Thanks
    Sachin

    Does the ejbCreate() method of the com.package.ejbimpl.RemoteServicesEjb class have an exception on it's throws clause that is not present on the ejbCreate() method of your home interface? If so, does the error go away if you add the exception to the home's ejbCreate() method? In general, you want checked exceptions in a throws clause to match between the interface declaration of the method and the implementation of the method on the bean class.
