Deploying Office 2013 x64 - feature installation state msp not applying

So I created my MSP with setup.exe /admin and configured a number of options in it. I saved the msp as "1Office64bit.msp" and saved it into the Updates folder. I also have a service pack for Office 2013 in the Updates folder.
I created an SCCM application to deploy office. My deployment installation program looks like this - setup.exe /config proplus.ww\config.xml
During my SCCM Build and Capture task sequence Office 2013 installs, the updates apply, and all of the settings in the MSP apply except for one. I specificed in the msp feature installation states to NOT install the Outlook feature, but it's not working?
Also - as a test after the task sequence completes, I run "msiexec /p \\pathtomsp\1Office64bit.msp - and it removes Office like it should. But I don't know why this doesn't happen during the initial installation?

You should use either a config xml file or an MSP during the installation of Office (2013). In your current command line it looks like you're trying to use both. As you saved the MSP file in the updates folder, simply specifying setup.exe should be enough
to start the installation and let it use the MSP.

So I tried just running setup.exe and it doesn't seem to be working either. I verified in the ccm appenforce.log that the install command was just setup.exe (so the change made it to the client) but Outlook was still installed.
I'm going to try changing it to setup.exe /adminfile to see if that works.

Follow this procedure for the installation:
Install Windows 8.1 Pro x64 using the general or personal key
Just to avoid install an old Video Driver from windows update, disable the Wi-Fi or Interned connection
Install Office 2013 x64
Install the Video Driver “340.52-notebook-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.exe” just let the setup to uncompress the files in “C:\NVIDIA” folder, do not continue to avoid the installation of other software that you may never use. Go to “Device Manager” and Right click properties in the display adapter, press “Driver” - “Update Driver” select browse my computer and give the path “C:\NVIDIA” press next and close after installation finish
Enable Wi-Fi and open Control Panel – Programs – Turn Windows features on or off and select “.NET Framework 3.5” hit OK, after the installation finish, reboot PC
Install “ClassicShellSetup_4_1_0.exe” follow instruction and configure the way you may like

Update Bluetooth driver using windows update if Windows detect the dongle, if not go to next step
If Bluetooth is not detected, mean that the actual hardware somehow is disabled. In order to enable, boot the PC with a Windows 7 live DVD with the USB drive installed in the PC. we have deployed Office 2013 x86 VL Version on all our machines locally (MSI Install). Since App-V 5 SP2 now supports virtualising Office 2013 VLs we would like to run a virtualised Version of Office 2013 x64 VL (especially Excel) alongside the locally installed
x86 Version. Is this possible?

There won't be any limitations for the virtualized Excel's core features, but interaction with other applications (native Office, OS, other apps) may be limited as, well, a virtualized application is sort-of isolated to a certain extent. Namely it
may happen that you loos the tight integration between Office apps based on OLE objects.
(Copy & Paste an Excel spreadsheet into Word/Powerpoint - Double-click on the Word-Embedded Excel and get all your Excel menus and options back).
'Simple' stuff (saving and loading files, copying simple data through clipboard) all will work. Users potentially won't be able to add new Excel Plugins and it might even be diffcult to do so for you.
If the use-cases allows that you could consider running Excel_x64 on remote machines (VDI, RemoteDesktopServer).

Deploying Office 2013 with Group Policy

I would like to deploy Office 2013 using group policy. I am new to group policy so am looking for some advice and guidance on the best way to deploy. I would like to deploy with no interaction with the user but yet display a message so that they
know not to open Office. I would also like to create a custom registry setting so that if I need to re-install, all I have to do is delete the registry setting. I have tried a group policy for installing with OCT settings (Basic, Suppress
Model checked, No Cancel checked, Completion Notice checked) and modifying the Config.xml (<Display Level="Basic" CompletionNotice="yes" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />) but I can not get it to display
the installer screen so that users know it is installing. It does display the screen when running the setup.exe manually. I have a setting in the OCT that creates the registry setting and that is working correctly. My group policy is set to run the

will not be able to show "anything" in startup scripts...

Deploy Office 2013 - Uninstall Office 2010

Hello,
I am planing to deploy Office 2013 and created a MSP File (Setup /admin) for the silent Installation - everything works fine - except the uninstallation of Office 2010. In the OCT I´ve selected the Option to remove previous Versions of Office. I can
remeber that this works perfect in Office 2010 to remove Office 2007 too.
But in Office 2013 this doesn´t work anymore, the installed applications wizard (appwiz.cpl) Shows both Version of Office are installed. What is the best way to remove the old Version silently and install Office 2013? I would like to have all in one
"Application" deployed via SCCM 2012 SP1.

Deploy Office 2013 with language pack

Hi,
We want to deploy Office 2013, for this I followed the tutorial:

In the first step I need to make an MSP file, but this file doesn't get used in the deployment? I think this is a fault in the tutorial.
Also the uninstall string is setuP.exe /uninstall. Is this correct?
Second we want to deploy the dutch language pack with SCCM 2012, but I can't find out how. The package need to be installed but Office 2013 still need to be default language English.
Can someone help me out with this?

Some troubleshooting tips:
Run the installation command locally using SYSTEM account (Get psexec.exe, open cmd, run "psexec.exe -s cmd", this will open a new command line window with SYSTEM privilege, try running your installation command there)
Check the Office 2013 installation logfiles to see if your configurations are correct, more info on that here:

After those two steps are ready and you're sure your installation command works, you try it with ConfigMgr

1. Because Office (in all forms) requires setup.exe to orchestrate the installations, classic Group Policy Software Installation (which requires an MSI file) is not suitable. This has been the case since Office2007. If you are constrained to use GP, you
will need to use GP Startup Scripts. There is guidance for this, in the Office resource kit library on TechNet.

2. Retail editions of Office, typically require you to login to the Microsoft Account where the license is associated, to validate the Office license. If you are using a product key method instead, you can use the PIDKEY element in your configuration.xml

As far as I know, Microsoft now only provide MSI-based Office installer for Volume licensing Office. If you are a Volume Licensing customer, you can download the media via the Volume Licensing Service Center:

Compatible smart view version 11.1.2.1 and 11.1.2.2 with office 2013 x64

I'm trying install smart view version 11.1.2.1 and 11.1.2.2 in version x64 the microsoft office 2013. Both errors occur incompatibility.
In the documentation the smart view, says nothing about the compatibility with the version of office 2013 x64, because this version of the smart view was launched before the office 2013 x64.
Anyone know how to solve this problem?

SCCM 2012 - Deploying Office 2013 Application - Setup Errors

dear SCCM admins,
i am trying to test deploying office 2013 to users in my company. i made the application and deployments. the application appeared in the software center and in the application catalog.
The problem is whenever a user "which is not a local administrator" tries to install this application, it gives me the setup errors message saying "You must have administrative privileges to install or uninstall this
product."
Is there any specific configuration to make to overcome this behavior???

Modify Office 2013 Professional Plus Installation

we had installed office 2013 through SCCM. Installations complete successfully without any issue. however when we try to modify/change Office 2013 through "Programs and Features" the wizard disappers automatically.
please suggest.

Thanks for your reply Renato. We have created custom MSP file using Office Customization Tool & using below parameter for installation:
setup.exe /adminfile customfile.msp /config customfile.xml
there is no issue with installation & office also works fine. we are using office 2013 professional plus 32bit version on windows 7 x64.
when we click on change wizard popup for few seconds & then disappears. no information about same is logged into event viewer.
check the office setup logs (logs are created whenever office setup.exe is executed, this includes ARP change/repair)
the office setup logs are located in %TEMP%, so, if setup.exe is launched by ConfigMgr that is c:\windows\temp, but if setup.exe is launched by a user that is C:\Users\Don\AppData\Local\Temp
The logfiles are named like this: SetupExe(2014092418203415B8).log

Deploying Office 2013 through SCCM 2012 SP1 leaves Office 2010 Tools and Sharepoint behind

I apologize in advance, but I have searched similar topics to this, but I haven't seen an answer yet that describes where and how to accomplish this. I'm also a bit new to SCCM and I'm still finding the nuances.
Scenario: Running SCCM 2012 SP1. Office 2013 32bit is added as an application and deployed properly with an accompanied .msp file stored in the source folder. The configuration is to have Office
2010 uninstalled silently. The deployment runs flawless and the user doesn't know otherwise. Success in anyone's book, right?
Except... Office 2010 Tools and SharePoint Workspace 2010 are left over. Manual uninstallation is not an option. This is for hundreds of PC's in several global locations.
I've seen it hinted to write a script. That's fine I suppose, but what do I write, where do I store the script, and can I have SCCM2012 automatically run it before the installation of 2013?
Our favorite IT tool Google hasn't quite returned what I'm looking for. Does anyone here have ideas or perhaps have experienced a similar issue?

Office 2013 Professional plus installation on a Windows 7 PC with Office Enterprise 2007 previously installed

I have a DELL XT2 with plenty of RAM and disk space.
Until, recently I had Office Enterprise 2007 running with Visio Professional 2007.
I wish I never tried to upgrade to Office 2013 Professional plus
- what a waste of time and nightmare. The software is not fit for purpose will only install on a PC that has never had office on it !!!! complete joke.
I uninstalled Office 2007, Visio Professional 2007, spent 15 hours cleaning the registry manually and using registry cleaning tools as Microsoft's uninstall does not work. I have tried clean boots, using Fixit tool to remove old
traces of Office but no success, I followed the article religiously on how to manually remove Office from the registry and disk.
The software when installed does not make it to the end and bombs out saying there is a bootstrap loader error, this is not funny any more.
Can someone advise how to fix this please, I have looked at all the proposed fixes on TechNet and they are a complete waste of time.
If nobody knows how to fix it and can someone point to a place where I can download 2007 Office Enterprise and Visio Professional 2007 so I can get back to where I was, I can't find the original disks but still have the license keys.
What can you say, what a waste of life. The folks that write and test the software should no better please don't release stuff that's not ready - it just creates a negative experience.

After reading the whole post, I still don't capture the exact error message or code from it when you failed to install Office 2013.
The only clue is that "bootstrap loader error" ...
It seems that you want to upgrade Office 2007 to new Office 2013, by default, we could complete the uninstall previous Office version and install the new Office in the installation wizard.
At this point, if you get the install source through CD or other media. I recommand that we copy/paste the installation to local drive. Then turn off all of anti-virus and firewall, begin to setup in
Windows clean boot mode.
Please use a setup log to troubleshoot setup problems in Office if the installation problem still occurs.
