Deploying only one component of an EAR file

Consider this situation. I have an EAR file which contains 3 war files,
war1.war, war2.war, war3.war. There are situations where I want to deploy the EAR file but want to deploy only war1.war and dont want to deploy the other 2 wars. Is it possible to selectively deploy the contents of the EAR file? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like one way to do this is not reference your WAR in your META-INF/application.xml
Thanks.

  • (un)deploy a single component in an .ear File in WLS 6.1

    I deployed a .ear File, that contains 25 EJBs and 5 webapplications) in WLS
    6.1. Everything is fine. Now i tried to undeploy a single EJB that is
    contained in the .ear File. But when i mark this EJB in the WLS admin
    console as undeployed, all other EJBs and WARs are marked as undeployed.
    Is this becaue of the J2EE specification or is it a weblogic feature /
    problem?

    This issue is seen only with IBM JDK 1.6 (any SR) because, IBM packages the xerces version 2.9 as a part of $IBM_JDK_HOME/jre/lib/xml.jar.
    I think/understand that, your application is also packaging a xerces impl jar(different version otherthan xerces version 2.9) in WEB-INF/lib of you application.
    So, to make sure that the WebLogic Server uses the xerces impl jar that has been packaged, you are trying to use the filtered classloader in weblogic-application.xml
    But the filtered classloader would not have any effect, since, the IBM JDK packaged xerces parsers would also be with the same package structure. So, I think you should try with setting the following in WEB-INF/weblogic.xml inside the <weblogic-web-app> tag.
    <container-descriptor>
    <prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes>
    </container-descriptor>
    I think this should work with WLS 11gR1PS2 (WLS 10.3.3).

  • How can I delete only one part of my xml file?

    Hello,
    I stored more than 100 users in only one xmltype column. For instance
    Create table agro(users XMLTYPE);
    ... and I inserted all users inside
    INSERT INTO agro values(XMLTYPE
    ('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <authentication><users><user>
    <name>cocoon</name>
    <password>cocoon</password>
    <role>admin</role>
    <title>Mr.</title>
    <firstname>Walter</firstname>
    <lastname>Cocoon</lastname>
    <company />
    <street />
    <zipcode />
    <city />
    <country>DE</country>
    <phone />
    <fax />
    <email />
    <bankid />
    <bankname />
    <accountid />
    </user>
    ... another user, etc.
    </users></authentication>'));
    Now I tried to delete only one part of this file. For example all persons with the name"cocoon".
    I used for this target the following statement:
    DELETE FROM agro agro
    WHERE agro.users.extract('authentication/users/user/text()').getStringVal()= 'cocoon';
    When I execute this statement, Oracle DB delete all users and not only with the name "Cocoon".
    How can I delete only one part of my xml file?
    Kind Regards
    M R

    This the expected behavoir. You uploaded a document containing multiple users and then asked XML DB to delete any documnet that contained a user with the name in question. The problem here is that you are creating a mega document that contains an aggregation of user documents but then trying to work with individual user documents. This is a bad idea.
    In general XML does not understand the concept of a collection of documents. It can only operate on one document at a time. Hence the tendancy to aggregate individual documents into a single larger document. Once you have an XML database, you can perform operations on collections of document, as easily as you can perform operations on individual documents, so the need to aggregate the individual documents together disappears.
    If you store each user document as a seperate document then your delete will work as expected.

  • How to deploy only one project from WebCenterSpacesExtensions to WebCenter

    Hello,
    I've been provided a customized WebCenterSpacesExtensions application with 3 custom task flow projects in it.
    I am having trouble finding information on how to deploy only one project at a time. Can someone please tell me how to do this? Is it difficult?
    Thanks in advance.

    Take a look at chapter 53 in webcenter developer's guide which explains the same:

  • How can I deploy only one package out of a big project?

    Does any one know how can I only deploy one package out of a big project?
    We have a project which includes about 12 differenct packages. Is there a way in Jdeveloper for me to create a deploy profile to only deploy one package to a *.jar file?
    Do I have to re-create a new project ( that's what I am doing currently) simply for deployment purpose?
    By the way, click and pick class from more than 100 classes is too much of work. In addition, you don't really know exactly which class you are picking if two classes (in different packages) have the same name.
    Thanks a lot.

    Rename your LCA file extention into .ZIP
    Open the ZIP file in any of the compressing utility (e.g. WinZip, WinRar etc.)
    Extract the desired process and deploy it manually to your server.

  • I had upgraded to firefox 3.0 years ago and lost my firefox 2.0 bookmarks. How do I retrieve them? I keep getting only one bookmark from the html file.

    Years back I had installed Firefox 3.0 (at launch, so not beta) into a separate program folder. After installation, I expected to have my bookmarks saved. Recently I found out my bookmarks were in application data and I found out I had one profile. That meant that my firefox 2.0 bookmarks were replaced.
    I read up on the FAQs and it stated that bookmark backups only save the previous 5 days or so, so I don't think they are usable though I have them saved. The bookmarks.html file in my profile shows only one bookmark after importing it into firefox 3.5 and firefox 2.0 (downgraded back to check it out), google chrome, and internet explorer. I still have the bookmarks.bak and bookmarks.html.bak files as well.
    A little backstory before I got up to this point because it's a bit convoluted because I thought I could retrieve them like IE favorites which were easy:
    1) Switched to Firefox 2.0 from Internet Explorer and got several hundred bookmarks.
    2) Got HyperBookmarks add-on which bugged up and replaced my previous bookmarks folder though it stated in FAQs that my original Firefox 2.0 bookmarks were in a separate folder so I didn't worry about it.
    3) Upgraded to Firefox 3.0 and it replaced all my bookmarks with nothing in bookmarks list. I thought it was saved because I installed Firefox 3.0 in a separate folder.
    4) Retrieved 3.0 Bookmarks and Archived them, but wasn't able to find Firefox 2.0 Bookmarks (original) nor the HyperBK version, except in HyperBk Backups folder.

    In the "Edit this Bookmark" window, use the 2nd drop-down button, that is to the right of the "Folder", to open a larger window that will allow more folder to appear. See the sloppy red arrow on the screenshot below.

  • Can I create action to Save As...  and change only one character of the original file name?

    I'm working on a group of  files(25-28) at a time. I have to save each one as a photoshop .raw file and change the first character of the file name. the rest of the file name must remain the same. I then close the original file with no changes. I tried to create an action for this. The only problem is that the next file overwrote the file I used to create the action.  Is it possible to creat an action to save as... and keep the file name of the new file but chage the first character to the same one used in the recording?

    Good day!
    I think what you are describing is not possible with Actions.
    Scripting would be an option, but more convenient might be simply saving the files with unchanged names and then edit the names of  the whole bunch in Bridge in one go (Tools > Batch Rename).

  • Deploying junitee outside of the application ear file

    I have an application that is deployed within an ear file, and I have junitee tests
    within a war file, called test.war. I would like to not have to place the test.war
    within the ear file because the ear may be release code but I still want to test
    it using the junitee tests. Instead I would like to optionally add the test.war
    to the application context and not the ear file. How would I go about doing that?
    I tried to deploy the test.war from the weblogic console, and hand editing the
    config.xml, and adding the test.war as a module to the application.xml (within
    the ear file).
    In all cases when I try to then use classes within the ear file I get ClassNotFoundExceptions.
    Probably because Weblogic is not including the test.war as part of the same application.
    Thank in advance for any help.
    -Fazle

    I'd probably have 2 build targets, debug and production. Your debug
    target could include the unit test war file.

  • How do I compensate for only one ADDT ' tNG_config.inc.php file with many Registration pages to build?

    My dynamic site has a lot of different languages funneled into one website, using various cookies, url params, php includes, etc. all to obtain similar info in different languages. Thank you David Powers.
    It is working really well and now I’ve come to the Registration section. Okay, so registration isn’t all that hard; I could do most of it with the standard Dreamweaver set of tools. Alas, I really like much of what ADDT has to offer with welcome email messages and activation and such.
    Here’s the setup: Obviously, with many different language people, I have many different databases for them. I did that becuase we’re expecting a big audience and I really don’t want to have all those different language names in the same table. Furthermore, these tables, whereby the students will login, will also contain a lot of information about their work so again, don’t want to have one massive table. I’ve divvied them up into tables by language and I’m using those tables to keep track of them and their work.
    I want to use ADDT’s User Registration Wizard and I have looked at all the neat stuff in the Control Panel/Login Settings.
    Here’s my situation: I notice that when I’m done with the configuring of one of the registration pages, I’m asked if I want to upload the tNG_config.inc.php page and that it has changed since the last upload. I saved a copy of the _config.inc.php and did a new registration form with the same info and when done, I compared the two _config.inc.php files. As one would guess, there is a small difference in the Connection string to the databases  $tNG_login_config["connexction"] = "connString_Ital_db".
    My problem is that I have 13 of these registration pages to do but ADDT only has the one tNG_config.inc.php. That’ll work great for the one with which it is associated, but the others will obviously break. I’ve looked through the code in the Registration pages, to find the ADDT link to the tNG_config.inc.php file hoping to rename it Italian, Spanish, etc, but the name of the file does not appear in the Registration page.  I realize that ADDT Control panel is designed for use on one site, and can then be used on others, with the changes etc. But my site seems a little unique since so many sites are actually in one.
    Has anyone whipped this problem before? I just don’t understand why there is no link in the head code of the Registration page to let me change it and to create more config files with different names. Thanks for you help!
    [Moved by moderator to appropriate forum]

    Hi Brian,
    I just tried to check all of ADDT´s "includes" files for any internal references (read: "require" or "require_once" statements) to the file "tNG_config.inc.php". So far I can only see this file referenced in the file "tNG.inc.php" (within the "$KT_tNG_uploadFileList1" array).
    So what could this mean ? Maybe you´ll have to make copies of the the original "tNG.inc.php" as well and save them as, say, "tNG.inc_ital.php" file plus make sure that these copies internally point to a different "tNG_config_ital.inc.php" file -- because it´s always the first mentioned file which gets referenced from e.g. an ADDT login page (see the "Load the tNG classes" - part)
    I want to use ADDT’s User Registration Wizard and I have looked at all the neat stuff in the Control Panel/Login Settings
    The Control Panel will always update the main "tNG_config.inc.php" file, so any further modifications will have to become manually applied to the custom files you´re creating.
    Cheers,
    Günter

  • Deployment plan - can be packing to ear file?

    Hi Lads,
    I successfully deployed application on Application Server 10g Release 3. I'm using hibernate then in deployment plan I had to unselect toplink libraries. I need distribute my application. Is possible to add deployment plan somewhere to ear archive and server will automatically use it during deployment or this file must be distributed separately? Or can be toplink turn off in different config file ex. orion-application.xml?
    Thanks for help
    Robert

    I've had similar issues related to XML libraries. Here's an example orion-application.xml file that removes the "oracle.xml" library:
    <orion-application xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
                       xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/orion-application-10_0.xsd"

                       schema-minor-version="0">
        <imported-shared-libraries>
            <remove-inherited name="oracle.xml"/>
        </imported-shared-libraries>
    </orion-application>You should be able to do something similar for Toplink...

  • Is it possible to set a laf to only one component in the application?

    I'm developing a GUI and wanted to know if it is possible to set a particular laf to one of the guis components, thanks a lot.

    I believe that the LAF of a component is determined by the current LAF when the component is created. So I think you can create and display you GUI normally. Then switch to your other LAF to create your component and then switch back to the default..

  • Moving only one component value into a register AGAL

    Hi
    Do any of you know if there is any way in AGAL of moving a component value from one register to the other without touching the other components in the register? I notice that the following line...
    mov ft1.a, ft0.a
    ...will also overwrite the rgb components in ft1 with the rgb components from ft0. At least it does on my machine. In other words, specifying components may reorder (swizzle) the components, but doesn't mask them to preserve the value of other components in the destination register. Probably because each register is 128 bits wide, so it's easier for the GPU to just do the operation on all four components anyway. I'm trying to implement the technique described here:
    http://http.developer.nvidia.com/GPUGems/gpugems_ch22.html
    Under "22.2.2 Curves". It requires me to process each color component independently.

    "You can't have an HTML form element map to an Oracle PL/SQL procedure parameter that is defined as a TYPE definition"
    Sorry, but this is just plain wrong. Passing values to associative arrays (TYPE xxx IS TABLE OF xxx INDEXED BY BINARY_INTEGER) has been possible at least since OAS 4.0.8.
    The following simple procedure prints the values passed to it from a form with multiple occurrences of in_val
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE test_prc (in_val IN owa_util.ident_arr ) IS
    BEGIN
    for i in in_val.first..in_val.last loop
    htp.p(in_val(i));
    end loop;
    END test_prc;
    (owa_util is a SYS package)
    As to the original question, it is very hard to say what the problem is without more details about the error that occurs after the migration.

  • Intermittent 404 error after deploying EAR file

    I deployed my web application to an EAR file and deployed it to OAS 10.1.3 on linux. I deployed it to a separate OC4J container that I created (not home container). During the deployment, I specified an application name and context as usual and did not make any modifications to the deployment. After I deployed (and waited enough time for the application to be uncompressed), I get a 404 error when I access my application. I will then refresh my browser and then my application is accessible. This happens all the time. What am I doing wrong?

  • Deploy Web-Application to Weblogic 8 without ear-file

    Ciao, I've created a connection to
    Weblogic but I just have a war-file I've to deploy. I tried to replace
    ear.file with war.file but it hasn't work.
    Could you help me? Thanks a lot!
    Here is the default:
    ${java} ${jvm.max.heap.size}
    -classpath ${weblogic.jar} weblogic.Deployer
    -adminurl http://${hostname}:${port}
    -user ${username} -password ${password}
    -debug -verbose -activate -upload
    -source ${ear.file} -name ${j2ee.app.name}

    Hi,
    JDeveloper automatically creates an EAR file when you try to deploy a WAR file. What errors are you getting?
    Also,
    - What version of JDev are you using?
    - Is your application jdk 1.4 and J2EE 1.3 compliant to deploy successfully on WebLogic 8.1?
    Thanks
    Prasanth
