Deploying the UPK recorded content in Peoplesoft Weblogic server.

Hi,
I have  Peoplesoft UPK recoded content with me and also have document for configuring help menu with the UPK content.
It's appreciated If some one can help me in knowing steps (or) any documents for deploying the UPK recorded content in Peoplesoft Weblogic server.
Also I don't want to install PeopleBook in the weblogic server.
Thanks
Soundappan

There are two out of the box ways to enable UPK with PeopleSoft.
PeopleBooks > PeopleTools 8.52: PeopleTools Portal Technologies > Configuring UPK Topics as Related Content Services
PeopleBooks > PeopleTools 8.52: PeopleSoft Application Designer Developer's Guide > Configuring Embedded Help to Display UPK Content
Hope this helps.

Hakan

  • How do I copy the DVR recorded content to Laptop or any external drive.

How do I copy the DVR recorded content  to Laptop or any external drive. Pl suggest.
    Thx.

It is awkward but I have a Coax line out the DVR that goes to my Media Center Computer (which has the same multimedia software that is built into Vista) and then to my computer's TV tuner. (This is the same line out function that you use to send the DVR output to a VCR) Using my Media Center software, I can play the recorded DVR program and record that on my computer. Once in the computer, I can transfer the file by my wireless network to my laptop. It is a bit convoluted and requires a computer with a TV Tuner to record the program, but it can be done if I really want the item recorded to the computer.

  • How to receive emails of the same inbox from in a Weblogic Server cluster

    Hi All,
I have an application running on WebLogic Server with 6 instances. Many requests for the application come from Email. We already set up an email account that will be used by all clients to send email to. But the problem is that the email account inbox can only be opened for reading by a single connection, unlike a typical database. Currently I can only deploy the email reading service on a single server instance, this will effectively create a single point of failure and unbalanced load. What's the best way to read from the same inbox from multiple servers? I am thinking developing something using a database table, sort of leasing, whoever locked the table own the lease and can connect to the email server, but this is pretty hard to implement correctly in all circumstances.
I did an intensive search on the internet, but couldn't find anything.
I appreciate your help very much.
    Thanks
    Tao

    Hi Aditya
By default, OPA 10.4 will collect the minimum amount of information needed to answer the goal of your interview and then display the answer and the reasons for the answer. You can change what appears on these screens within OPM itself (you don't need to change those settings).
    So I would:
    - add a Summary Screen to your project (if you haven't already)
    - add <your goal attribute> to your summary screen. This will display as a link if the goal is unknown and as a sentence showing the outcome and a Why? link when it is known.
    - add a label to the summary screen, providing information about the outcome (eg "Congratulations you are eligible") or simply show the value of the outcome (eg Your total deduction is %deduction_amount%).
    - use visibility rules to control which items to display at the start/end of your interview (in your case, maybe hide your goal once it is known and show your label once your goal is known). See OPA help topic "Tutorial: Hiding and displaying summary screen elements".
The Inferred Brand Discount sample supplied in the OPM install provides an example of this (see Help topic Sample Rulebases for information on how to open this).
    Hope that helps,
    Fiona

  • How do you modify the default Execute thread count in Weblogic Server 9.2?

How do you modify the default Execute thread count in Weblogic Server 9.2?
How can you tune the starting number of weblogic.ExecuteThread on server startup and/or set minimum number?
Is there an option from the console?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

Self tuning will automatically manage the threads but however you can still control the min and max by adding the min and max values for each instance either directly adding in config.xml or through JVM settings
    1) Modifying the config.xml
Just add the following line(s) to each server definition :
    <server>
    <name>AdminServer</name>
    <self-tuning-thread-pool-size-min>100</self-tuning-thread-pool-size-min>
    <self-tuning-thread-pool-size-max>200</self-tuning-thread-pool-size-max>
    </server>
    2) Adding some JVM parameters
It's safer the following way :
add the following option in your command line : -Dweblogic.threadpool.MinPoolSize=100

  • Deployment warning -- Compiled by different version of Weblogic Server?

    ####<Aug 23, 2001 12:17:54 PM PDT> <Warning> <EJB> <alpha> <admin>

    I'm using WLS 6.0 SP1.
I'm getting the above warning messages for every jar file within my
EAR file that I try and deploy. I can't figure out the source of this
warning. I get this message in any of the following compilation
    cases:
    * compiling with BEA's default javac (Sun's JDK version 1.3.0)
    * compiling with Sun's javac (Sun's JDK version 1.3.0_02)
    * compiling with jikes
The message seems misleading and doesn't make sense to me. Anyone
know why I'm getting this error message? Anyone else getting these

Could you please post this message on the ejb newsgroup.
The message does not seem to mean a different version of the java
compiler, but different version of Weblogic's ejb compiler -
    weblogic.ejbc.
Were these EJB's compiled by a previous version of ejbc, say, the one from
    51 ?
No, these EJBs were never compiled against a previous version of ejbc.
They were only created and deployed with WLS 6.0 SP1.
Also, please check the generated file inside the build\ejbcgen directory:
WLGENERATED to check which version of WL ejbc was used to compile it.
Here's contents of the WLGENERATED file:

  • How to DEPLOY and ACCESS JSR 168 portlet in weblogic server

I installed Web Logic Server 10.3, Web Logic Portal 10.3 and Workshop 10.3 on my system. I created a sample portal application in workshop and able to see the output with the help of workshop.
    1. I imported JSR 168 portlet in "Import Utility" and able to see the deployed war in Deployments folder of "Weblogic Server Administration Console", but unable to test that deployed portlet. That Deployed portlet was unable to see in "Weblogic Portal Administration Console"

  • Deploying the WAR file in Netweaver 7.1 server

    Hi,
I am new to SAP NW 7.1.  I have a J2ee application which is build in non-netweaver technology.
In Netweaver 7.0 server using Visual Administrator Tool (<Drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\<Instance_Name>\j2ee\admin\go.bat)
we can use the services for the deployment of any J2EE application as EAR.
But in Netweaver 7.1 server, I am not finding the Visual Administrator Tool.
Please do let me know,  How do I deploy my application EAR file in the Netweaver 7.1 server.
Thanks in Advance for the reply,

    Hello,
under NW7.1 the SDM is no longer availible.
We do not have a NWDS and the deployment of the ear file by unsing JSPM failes even after renaming it into a .sca and .sda file.
The solution in our case was to deploy the ear file by using telnet. (sounds unbelivable - but it works)
    telnet localhost 5<sys#>008
    user/PW
Detaild help by using the man command
    DEPLOY....
It took us half a day to figure out how it works.....

  • What's the recommended way to run a WebLogic Server in the background?

I'm new to WebLogic Server and I've been looking at the documentation. There's instructions for starting and stopping servers on Linux but they all seem to rely on foreground processes. What's the correct way to run these processes in the background in a production environment? Is it just by using nohup somewhere in a script /etc/init.d/ or is there some other way I should be running it?

    Meatwad,
Of course, running the WLS processes using nohup would place the process in the background. However, the recommended way to run the WLS servers on a production system would be to configure node manager and use this. This places the servers as a background process but also provides some additional functionality, that would be useful - for instance, allowing starting and stopping via the admin console and the ability to auto restart failed or stuck servers.
For more information, please consult the documentation.

After getting my application deployed (see below), I am finding that the
proper SQL is executing as expected through Kodo. The logs show the SQL
statements as a consequence of the EJB method being called. The EJB extends
com.solarmetric.kodo.ee.JDOSessionBean. The problem is that the container
managed transaction (Required) is always rolling back at the end, despite
everything succeeding. I suspect that I still have something configured
incorrectly in the Kodo ra.xml. I played with
    "TransactionManagerName=javax/transaction/TransactionManager" as the value
of ManagedRuntimeProperties without effect. I have attached the ra.xml. Is
there something obviously wrong here? Am I missing something?

Never mind. I am an idiot. The ra.xml descriptor within the kodo.rar file
must be edited, before deploying to WLS. This seems to deploy nicely.
Now, I'm trying to use Kodo from a SessionBean, so I am packaging kodo.rar
into the same EAR as my EJB-JAR. It is giving me the following error atruntime, even
though the class is clearly present in kodo-jdo-runtime.jar within theRAR.

I found the following page in the WLS documentation.
    http://edocs.bea.com/wli/docs70/devadapt/2concpts.htm#1028215
It appears as though I may need to move the Kodo JARs from the RAR intothe
root directory of the EAR and reference them from the MANIFEST Class-Pathof both
the RAR and the EJB-JAR. After putting up with all this ClassLoadercomplexity in
J2EE, I sure hope the application packaged with Kodo becomes hot
    redeployable. :)
