Deployment Implications with 9IAS

From another thread it appears that 9IAS is not going to be certified for XP Pro.
Does anybody have a view on how this is going to effect web deployment (the only option with 9i Forms).
It looks like Unix/Linux is the only option from what I read (NT & W2k don't count, one is acient history the other is being replaced by XP Pro)

Portlet ear deployment fails with 9iAS/JDeveloper

Hi.
My portlet deployment fails, when I deploy
the portlet-ear (generated with java portlet wizard).
The connection to 9iAS works fine with the test.
I just get this error:

Yes, the properties files and provider.xml files exist,
and they are not corrupted (atleast I don't see any relevant differences).
I installed the OC4J with the help of these files:

Setup Cocoon with 9ias OC4J (9.0.2) under Windows NT
This was a painful process for me. I finally made it work. Thought my story might help someone else. If anyone sees anything that could cause problems down the line, please let me know.
NOTE: This took me a week to get right, so the restarts I suggest may not be appropriate, just guesses on my part.
A. FIRST SECTION (Based off of steps 9 - 11 of Metalink note 148497.1) - This deploys the cocoon.war file
1. Copy cocoon.war file to oracle 9ias home in the j2ee/home/applications directory. (NOT cocoon_jvm14. I tried to use the cocoon with jvm1.4. The version of 9ias I use wanted 1.3, so that is what I ended up using.)
NOTE: I followed the 9-11 steps from the above note the first time and manually changed the files below, but when I had to reboot my machine a couple of days later it lost the changes. So I went in thru OEM and did it there and have had no problems. These steps are detailed below.
2. Log into Oracle Enterprise Manager. Click on 9ias instance. Click OC4J_home.
3. Go to Advanced Properties. Edit the default-web-site.xml file. Look for the statement <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee"/>. After that statement, add the following: <web-app application="default" name="cocoon" root="/cocoon"/>
4. Go back to OC4J_home. Click on default link near the top of the page. (It has a Path underneath is that says application.xml) Then click on Advanced Properties. Edit the application.xml file. Look for the statement <web-module id="defaultWebApp" path="../../home/default-web-app"/>. After that statement, add the following: <web-module id="cocoon" path="../../home/applications/cocoon.war"/>.
5. Go back to 9ias instance and do a "Restart All".
B. SECOND SECTION ( Based off of Metalink note 184826.1)
1. Go to the Apache/Apache/conf/mod_oc4j.conf file underneath your 9ias home. Add the following line at the bottom of the file: Oc4jMount /cocoon/* home
Either "Restart All" from OEM again, or follow step 3 from the note. WARNING: I read somewhere that if you try to do the dos dcm/opmn stuff with the OEM at the same time, that you have corruption problems? So close the OEM if you do the dos commands just in case.
C. THIRD SECTION (This is what I did with the Cocoon jars to make 9ias/oc4J find them and use them. I am by no means saying this is the correct way. Just a way. If anyone has a different way, I would appreciate hearing it.)
1. Go to 9ias home and in the j2ee/home directory make a new folder. (I called mine xerces.) Copy the following jar files, found in the j2ee/home/applications/cocoon/web-inf/lib directory (this dir will show up after cocoon.war is deployed with the A. FIRST SECTION restart), into your new folder:
a. batik-all-1.5b2.jar
b. xalan-2.3.1.jar
c. xercesImpl-2.0.0.jar
d. xml-apis.jar
2. Log into the Oracle Enterprise Manager. Click on OC4J_home. Click on Server Properties. Scroll down to the bottom and type the following into Java Options: -Djava.ext.dirs=xerces. (If you named your new folder xerces.)
D. LAST SECTION
1. I rebooted my machine and said a prayer. From the url "http://myhost:7777/cocoon/" I got the cocoon welcome page!

I've heard rumors its about a month away. We were waiting for it, but then
decided to go to Linux, as it probably performs better, and the release for
Linux is already out. 9.0.2 is certified on Linux:
- SuSe SLES7
- Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1
Waiting for Oracle to release a software product seems almost like waiting
for a sunny day in Seattle -- you eventaly get it, but its unpredicatable
as to when it will actually be at best...

Websphere deployment vs. 9ias

Hello,
I am a Retek customer who is instaling RPM. The installation only has instructions for deploying on Websphere. We use 9ias. Is there much of a difference deploying with 9ias than with Websphere.

If you want to run your application on a computer that does not have LabVIEW installed, you need to create a standalone application using the application builder. The application builder is not included in LabVIEW full (only professional and higher), so you would need to purchase this seperately.
Yes, it is possible to add commandline switches. In the application builder, you should specify to pass all parameters to the application. In your code you can read the commandline parameters and do whatever you want with that information.

Pass all command line arguments to application—Passes all arguments as user-defined arguments to the application when you launch it from the command line. If you remove the checkmark from this checkbox, only the arguments after two hyphens (--) in the command line pass to the application as user-defined arguments. SAP Strategy Management 7.0 SSM Component Deployment failed with JSPM

Dear experts,
i have installed a SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 with MS SQL and i wish to install now SAP Strategy Management 7.0 with JSPM Tool.
I have copied the CPMSTRMGMAPC00_0.SCA file on the usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\ directory and the deployment precessus failed with error before the AS JAVA has been restarted.
How can i manage this problem? Any suggestion is welcomed.

Please help: deploy Bean with "No resource available" error for M:N relationship

I wonder any one comes across with deploying beans with M:N relationship with
"No resource available".
I defined the relationship in ejb-jar.xml and dbms in the
weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml, but when I deployed the beans I got

Other applications used the same the datasource, which I used for this application,
are running fine.
I think there is some bug in the wlserver 6.1 to create the join table. I think
it is the time I should ask the bea wlserver 6.1.

Issue with create deployment order with BAPI_POSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3

Hi Experts,
We are trying to create deployment orders with BAPI_POSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3. The following are the input:

And for receipts and requirement, we put ATP category as EG and EF.
But it return error 'Events are supported only for Purchase Requisitions'. For u2018EGu2019 and 'EF', I can see it is category typ '2'.
Does this BAPI able to create deployment STR or it can only create SNP STR?

I deployed my JSF application from workspacestudio 1.1 (workshop for weblogic 10) to weblogic 10 server. It works fine for me.
All other teammates are facing problem with their deployment. They get an error as

I created JSF app in the workshop for weblogic 10 and submitted the code to source control.
Team mates took the latest revision and build the project on their machine, which has same installation workshop for weblogic 10 as mine( we use same installler)
Thus the project have same code no difference at all.

MDT 2012U1 / Windows 8 deployment - impossible to add a role when deploying windows with language pack

Hello,
I am having a problem deploying Windows 8 with language packs and adding at the same time a role/feature (netfx3).
What I have done is creating a Standard Client Task Sequence. In the task sequence I have added, in the State Restore phase, the step Install Roles and Features (where only .Net Framework 3.5 is selected). I have configured nothing else !
If I use this task sequence, everything is ok; Windows 8 is well deployed and NetFx3 feature is installed.
Now, if I add one or more language packs in the MDT console and select them when using the previously created task sequence, the deployment fails with one error : ERROR - NetFx3 role processing with DISM.exe failed, rc = -2146498529.
The language packs are well installed but as the error message says, NetFx3 is not installed.

As you can see, in both logfile, the source are copied from the same folder.
Does anyone have an idea ? what am I missing ?
I have easily reproduced the problem on another computer (installing ADK/MDT, installing OS and creating task sequence).

Workaround:
1. copy stock sxs folder to local disk (e.g c:\sxs)
2. make a direct internet connection (don't use proxy!)
3. open admin command prompt and type: DISM.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:c:\sxs
4. after the successful install find the c:\windows\winsxs folder and sort by date
5. copy new folders (that are equal to current date) to deployment share's sxs folder (overwrite)
And now, try standard MDT install (create "Install Role And Feature" step in the Task Sequence, enable .NET install).

HFM EPMA application deployment aborted with error Object reference not set

HFM EPMA application deployment aborted with error Object reference not set to an instance of an object when trying to validate/deploy any HFM application in EPMA. This has started happending after we have deleted a Dimension in one of HFM applications. The deleted dimension is a shared dimension.
We are facing this issue in a distributed environment with version 11.1.2.1. This applications are built here newly.

There was a bug in earlier releases for deleting dimensions with children, making the children orphans.
Heard from release notes that it has been fixed, but we are seeing this issue in 11.1.2.1 again.
Please help us out in resolving this error.

The Big problem I am having is that each time I try to install the 9iAS developer KIT in 9iAS component home an error about saying cannot install.
So should the 9iAS developer KIT have it's own home? That is different from 9iAS component home on the same maching

Deploying EJB with RAD

Hello,
I have an EJB application which uses several external JARs. I added them as a library to the project so that the bean will be able to pass the compilation. However, when I start the server (WebSphere 5.1 Test Environment), I get the exception: addEJBModule failed for ... NoClassDefFoundError...
I searched for this error and it seems it's related to the classpath, but if I added the library, wasn't it supposed to be deployed automatically with the application? What is missing? (I'm using RAD for development).

Full Deployment failing with Transaction timeout

I am trying to do a full deployment(ATG 10.0.2) and its failing with the same transaction timeout on all environments (local, dev, stage)
I have tried to reduce the maxThreads to 1 in DeploymentManager but still i get the same exception.
Incremental deployments seems to be running fine if i deploy anything, like category, products, skus.
Even the catalog feed runs and deploys fine.
I have a total of around 1500 products and 7000 skus.
In BCC screen i see it gives timeout while deploying skus

I am using ATG10.0.2 with jboss-5.1-eap
I have tried increasing the timeout on jboss, but it only stops the timeout from happening, but the full deployment takes forever and takes more than 12 hours.
The catalog itself is too small and shouldnt be taking that much at all.
I just checked one thing:
I have a one to many relation with my sku and sale price(custom table) which has 11000 rows. If i delete the data in this table the deployment happens fine and takes about 30 mins.
The relationship it self seems correct.
this is on sku descriptor

The only thing i m not able to understand is why its taking forever to get the full deployment.
Incremental deployment in catalog happens quickly, if i deploy any sku,product or anything.
Is it something to do with ATG or jboss?

I am completely new to the XML and the XDK and have been trying to get the XDK installed with 9iAS 903 and the demos to work. When I try to install the demo I get the following error.
