Deployment of a JSP on OAS 4.0.8.1

There seems to be no option in the application list for a JSp application and how do I deploy a set of standard JSP and servlet files. I also use the Business Components on which my JSP are based.
Please let me know if any reference documentation exists.

I am sorry that I am not able to answer your question.
I need to download OAS 4.0.8.1 and JSP plugin. I tried to download from www.olab.com which required an userid/password. I wonder if you have any clue how I can get them.
If you can write me a short note about it, it'll be very helpful.
Many Thanks,
Ben.

  • Deploy JSP in OAS

    Hello,
I have a JSP developed in JDeveloper to initiate a BPEL process, what I have read is that I have to deply the JSP using obant in the bpel server, can I deploy the jsp in the OAS server so I can run it there and start the BPEL process there? and if I can do that how can I do it?
    Thanks

Hi! now we can help you better!
First, you need to create a simple folder structure to make the deploy of the jsp. A jsp file should be part of a Web App, you can build an entire Web App but this is not the case.
Go to this path ORACLE_HOME\bpel\samples\hw\worklistapp, this is the worklist application, you can use a folder structure like that, your jsp file should be in the public_html folder, but you need the application.xml, the build.xml and other files, you can copy the worklistapp folder and work in it, delete the files you will not use, like servlets, libraries. and go to this thread:
Please Please Help with worklist in SOA Suite!
in this thread is explained how to change the build.xml and the properties files to deploy the worklistapp, and is the same procedure for you, use the information you need, the build.xml edition, the edition of the properties files and the location of the libraries. the threads explain a lot of more things you will use when customizing the worklistapp!!!
Use ant not obant, obant is deprecated.
    hope this help!
    best regards and blesses!

I'm developing web application with OAS
4.0.8.1 and JDeveloper 3.0 and I want to call

I downloaded JSP for OAS from www.olab.com.
In the Release note, there is a description

In what configuration can I use servlet and

  • Error Deploying a BC4J JSP Application on IAS

When I am trying to run a BC4J JSP Application on IAS I have the following message:
Error Message: JBO-30003: The application pool, BC4JDemojsp_BC4JDemo_BC4JDemoModule, failed to checkout an application module instance.
Error Message: JBO-25002: Definition BC4JDemo.BC4JDemoModule of type ApplicationModule not found

    Gina,
I would recommend checking out the following HowTo's recently posted on OTN by the JDev Team. They may indicate where your problem is occuring and how to fix it:
Set up your Webserver to run BC4J: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006397.html
Deploy a BC4J JSP Application on iAS and Tomcat: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006398.html
How to Deploy Multiple BC4J JSP Web Apps to the same Webserver: http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum2/HTML/006726.html
Note, if you are deploying on iAS, the Online Orders tutorial application comes with that release, so you might want to refer to the last HowTo to make sure your webserver is set up to handle multiple apps, even if one if them isn't yours!

  • Deployment of BC4J JSP in Java web Server2.0

I'm presently trying to deploy a BC4j Jsp into the Java Webserver , I have copied all the class , java and the JSP files in the JWS2.0 , but the error I get is as follows :
Package oracle.jbo.* not found in import ,
Package javax.naming.* not found in import ,
Package oracle.jdeveloper.html.* not found in import etc.
I tried to copy all the JDeveloper class files in the JWS2.0 but no luck ,but here I was able to deploy sucessfully an simple jsp application using a session bean.
Secondly, I'm not able to use the internal web server of JDeveloper3.0 to run my JSP's , if I try to run, the browser is not able to contact the port no. 7070 and it gives an TCP error / connection error.
Please also suggest how to include the Jdbc driver in the classpath.
    Thanks in advance ,
    regards,
    Ekta

Please see the online help for deploying JSP web applications. The instructions are under User Guides, Developing Web Applications, Developing JSPs and Servlets...
There are a number of dependency archives that need to be deployed to your webserver in order for the BC4J JSPs to run correctly.
IF you look at the Project Properties for your JSP project, you will see a number of them such as Connection Manager, ORacl e8.1.5 JDBC, etc. EAch of these libraries is based on one or more .jar or .zip files which need to be present in your webserver.
Which ones you deploy somewhat depends on how you have deployed your Business Components app module. The online help provides more details.
The Oracle JDBC classes are all located in <JDEV_HOME>/jdbc/lib/oraclex.x.x/classes111.zip. Where x.x.x is the version of the drivers. 8.1.5 is the default in JDev 2. and 3.0.

  • Modifying JSP in OAS installation

.I am auto generating user id and password field and I need to hide these two field from user creation page.I modified JSP in OAS installation.I followed the following steps for doing
    this.
    1.Unpacked xlWebApp.war.
2.Modified tiles/util/tjspGenerateCreateUserForm.jsp and packed the war file
    again.
3.Placed the war file in /webapp folder.
    4.started patch_oc4j.cmd (oc4jadmin password) (database password).
    5.Build was successful.
    6.I checked exploded file in
    E:\oracle\oas\j2ee\home\applications\Xellerate\xlWebApp/tiles/util/tjspGenerateC
    reateUserForm.jsp.
and I can see my modification there.
7.I tried to access user creation page but it is still showing my old jsp with no
    modification.
Please tell me what I am missing.I know for Jboss I need to comment out web.xml but I do not see jsp related section in above exploded web.xml .
    installation.
    Regards
    Nitesh

    Hi
I am having exactly the same problem here but could not make it work even with cleaning precompiled folder before running the patch.
    What i did :
    1. Unpacked xlWebApp.war.
    2. Modified tiles/tjspViewUserDetailsTiles.jsp and packed the war file
    again.
    3. Placed the war file in /webapp folder.
    4. Stopped OIM services with "opmnctl shutdown"
    5. Placed war file into $APPSERVER/j2ee/home/applications/Xellerate
    6. DELETED EVERYTHING INSIDE "$XELLERATE_HOME/xellerate/webapp/precompiled" FOLDER.
    7. Started OIM services "opmnctl startall"
    8. I can see my modified jsp at $APPSERVER/j2ee/home/applications/Xellerate/xlWebApp/tiles/
    9. I started patch_oc4j.sh. Ended successfully.
    10. Now I can see my modified jsp file in $XELLERATE_HOME/xellerate/webapp/precompiled/jsp-temp/tiles folder also.
11.I tried to access the page but it is still showing my old jsp with no modification.
What in the name of god am I doing wrong???

  • Does jsp in OAS 4.0.8.1 supports Multiple Language?

    Hi,
I've tried using encoding=Big5 for chinese rendering but it throws an UnsupportedEncodingException. Any idea if jsp in OAS supports this?
    Thanks.
    regards,
    Hong Seng

I don't know. However here is more information for you. JSP requires you specify the page encoding using the IANA character set names. Java APIs require its own (JSDK) character set names. To work correctly JSPs must map the IANA name to a JSDK name. OJSP uses the sun.io.CharacterEncoding CharacterEncoding.aliasName() method to translate. It is entirely possible this method doesn't support your mapping/name. I would suggest you write some code that runs outside of JSP to determine what mapping this method supports.

  • Deployment of simple JSP to Oracle Servlet Engine

    Hi
Anyone there tried to deploy a simple JSP running against OSE.
Please advice where can I get more information for this.
    Thanks

Yes I have tried it with simple examples like data access and calling EJB. In-session EJB calls do not work but if your JSP is deployed in another Oracle JVM like 9iAS then EJB calls work.
There are two manuals you can refer:

    Hi,
As you have mentioned that your WLS92 Server is running on Production mode. In production mode we dont change our JSPs frequently. The JSPs are Automatically updated within 1-Second in Development environment (PRODUCTION_MODE=false if this is mentioned in your serverSatrtScript).
In Production Environment if you want that your JSPs whould be updated then Please specify the *<page-check-seconds>* Tag in *"weblogic.xml"* file.
NOTE: The value <page-check-seconds>1</page-check-seconds> means check the pages every second. This is the default value in a development environment*.

  • Auto deploy pre-compiled JSP

    Hello
In the post of gadegaard in november 2002, there was a problem to au deploy pre-compiled JSP. Is this problem has been fix in the 9.0.4 OC4J version ?
If yes, is it sufficient to create a "_pages" directory in the war (the war is contained in an ear) and auto deploy it ? Because my pre-compiled JSP are not deployed.
Tanks in advance for your answer
    Emmanuelle

    Emmanuelle:
There are two ways to use the precomiled JSP files.
Method one: You can just copy the generated JSP page implementation classes to the directory application-deployments/yourApp/yourWebApp/persistence/_pages. If the init-param "main_mode" of jsp servlet of your web app is reload, then these classes will be used without stopping the server. This is the fastest way in development.
Method two: You can packaged the generated JSP page implementation classes into a jar just like any other java class libraries. Then create your war with that jar inside WEB-INF/lib. Make sure the init-param "main_mode" of jsp servlet in your web.xml is justrun. Now you have a deployable war file. You can deploy the war file (within an ear file) to oc4j and access the JSP page.
Please tell me if either of thse methods works for you
Please note since oc4j 10.1.3, ojspc will package the generated classes into a jar under WEB-INF/lib if given an war or ear file.

  • Dreamweaver cs4 or mx2004 may built .war or .jar files for deployment in a jsp server (Tomcat) ? If no, and use Dreamweaver  how do these files ?

Dreamweaver cs4 or mx2004 may built .war or .jar files for deployment in a jsp server (Tomcat) ? If no, and use Dreamweaver  how do these files ?

if I use Eclipse IDE for compilation[make *.war & *.jar files from *.java like claimBeans.java], I must use also Eclipse for upload/deploy ? Or for upload ONLY I may use and dreamweaver ? The jsp section of dreamweaver, is for app not require compilation, like from Code from:JSP STANDARD TAG LIBRARY , only ?
Basically whatever I may do with "JavaBeans", "Servlets" etc (*.java files) needed to get compiled, I may also do it with JSP STANDARD TAG LIBRARY etc NOT NEEDED Compilation, so if I do not understand how to compile&deploy *.war & *.jar files , I may use instead the latter way ?
