Deployment queries

Hi All,
Till now I have deployed my application in a single server so I have the following queries.
Question 1
I want my application to be deployed in following format.
1. The web related files (JSP and other bean class) are deployed in my Web container (say tomcat) 2. The ejbs are deployed in my app server (Say jboss)
Now how do I look up for an ejb in my java class (class "Lookup") deployed in tomcat (nothing but the webcontainer servlet/bean) ? Is it enough if I just use the provider URL provided by JBoss in my "Lookup" class ?
Question 2
If I have ejb1 deployed on my appserver1 and ejb2 on my appserver2, both are on different physical systems. I want to call ejb2 in my ejb1 how do I do that ?

Refer to a Ejb from a jsp/servlet with the Ejb Jndi.
Refer to a Ejb in a different application server by getting a initial context.
ctx = new InitialContext("t3://<host_with_EJB>:<port_number>");

  • Deployment Queries related to Quartz Scheduler for SOA 11g???

    Dear All,
    We are using Quartz Scheduler for SOA 11g and have queries on its testing:
    1. Can we change the cron expression(say, previously cron expression was with the interval of 15 minutes every hour and we are changing it to 5 minutes every hour) in the scheduler table after we deployed the scheduler application? Should this require redeployment of Scheduler Application or the scheduler java class needs to be be run again to trigger the newly updated cron expression. Or, Will commiting the scheduler details table alone update the application to schedule for every 5 minutes in an hour?
    2. Also, if we are trying to schedule a new application(say, previously only 2 of our applications are scheduled and trying to add newly built application in the Scheduler table), will commiting the table alone will schedule the new application or require redeployment of Scheduler Application or the scheduler java class needs to be be run again?
    Please share your thoughts!
    Thanks in advance

    Were you able to control the frequency from the table. Can you please share the detials..

  • WebLogic Server EAR Deployment Queries!

    Hi All,
    I have few queries with respect to EAR deployment in BEA WebLogic Server
    a) we have a requirement wherein we need to deploy the modified EAR file to one node in a cluster, whereas the other node will still continue to use the old EAR file. Is that possible in a production environment?
    b) we also have a requirement wherein we need to bring down the cluster and start the servers as independent servers instead of a clustered servers from command line without logging into the weblogic server console
    c) we have one more requirement wherein we have all the configuration xml files for each web application in a EAR File. We need a way to deploy the configuration xml file separately if there is a change only to the configuration xml file. Is that possible?
    Also, we need to deploy a specific web application in a EAR file instead of re-creating the EAR again. Like an emergency release of one or more web application in a EAR.
    d) Is that possible to update the JAR file and WAR file dynamically which are deployed as part of the EAR file.
    Any pointers to info source will be REALLY appreciated.
    Wiating for your reply.
    Many Thanks in Advance,

  • Oracle Timesten Geo-redundent architecure deployment queries

    Hi,
    We have 6 sites and each site connect with lease line.
    There are 5 different physical Remote Site we want to deployed the active/standby timesten database on 5 sites
    We want to create the READ ONLY LOCAL CACHE GROUP for each 5 Sites which is auto refresh from single central database site(2-Node RAC)
    Data Modification always happen on Central Site.
    Oracle timesten active/standby is in local LAN on each site but each site is connect through WAN to the Central Local site where the Oracle RAC Database resides

    There is a great deal of stuff you need to understand and bear in mind when implementing any complex system and this is n oexception. You should start by studying the TimesTen documentation. In particular you should familiarise yourself with the informaiton in the Cache User's Guide and the replication Guide. These contain lots of very important information regarding the setup/deployment and operation of A/S pairs and cache groups, configuring cache connect for RAC etc. You should also read through the troubleshooting guide to familiarise yourself with what things to look at if things do not seem to work as expected.
    If you are not already very familiar with TimesTen I would also strongly recommed that you take the time to read the rest of the documentation. TimesTen is not Oracle Db and while it is very compatible with Oracle in many areas there are also a lot of significant differences which you need to take into account when developing applications, managing the system etc. if you are able to take an OU training course on Timesten then I would recommend that but if not then reading the documentation is a good second best.
    We do not 'recommend' operating systems specifically but 64-bit Linux is certainly a good choice. You might like to consider Oracle Enterprise Linux instead of Redhat; it has some advantages.
    Within each site both nodes in the TimesTen active/standby pair should be on the same LAN. I would recommend GigaBit ethernet as a minimum.
    While it is possible to write your own scripts to handle deployment, monitoring, failover and recovery of A/S pairs it is much, much easier (and much more robust) if you deploy Oracle Clusterware at each site to provide fully automated management of the A/S pairs. That is our very strong recommendation and is also best practice.
    From a TimesTen perspective, system clock synchronisation is only needed within each site (i.e. the system clocks on both nodes in an A?S pair need to be closely aligned). However, it may be desirable to have all the nodes in all the sites have their clocks aligned for other reasons.
    You need to ensure that the bandwidth and latency of the WAN connections is adequate for the amount of refresh traffic that you will have. There is no easy way to estimate/calculate this; you will need to determine this empirically.
    Those are probably the most important things. As you progress then you can of course ask questions in this forum and use Oracle Support.

  • Before WAAS deployment-queries to send to customer

    Hi,
    There is wan optimization requirement from one of our client. I do not know much on WAAS. only waas product i know.
    What kind of queries we needs to ask to client to gather the existing network/servers data.
    e.g.
    WAN bandwidth,
    Servers deatils...
    any one who can help to give such queries, so that we can send those to customer to get the details.
    Kindly guide.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nilesh

    Hi Nilesh,
    Since this is DC to DC replication , the questionair will be as below.
    Database
        What type of database will be replicated (e.g Oracle, Exchange database, Mainframe’s DB2, etc.)?
        What is the total size of the database to be replicated?
        What is the database daily change rate?
    Replication
        What type of replication application are you using? (E.g: EMC’s SRDF/A, Mirror View, NetApp’s SnapMirror etc)
        What is the type of the storage system and the hardware and software versions?
        Replication will happen between one DC to other DC? Or one main DC to a few other smaller DCs?
        How many TCP connections do you have between one DC’s storage system/NAS to the other DC’s storage system/NAS?
        Currently, how long does it take to complete one replication cycle?
        How frequently do you replicate the data?
        Is the data replicated in a compressed or uncompressed format?
        Does the customer have a specific throughput requirement or RPO/RTO SLA?
    WAN Link
        Please specify the WAN link (e.g: DS3, OC-3, OC-12) between the data centers?
        Is the link fully dedicated to replication? Or is it shared with other data flows?
        If the WAN link is shared with other data, have you dedicated any amount of bandwidth via QOS for replication purpose?
        What is the average latency experienced over the WAN link?
        What is the average packet loss over the WAN link?
    Network Topology
        Please provide the diagram of your network topology.
    FCIP Environment Specific Questions
        Is Write Acceleration enabled on the MDS?
        Is Compression enabled on the MDS?
        Is encryption enabled on the MDS? If so, turn it OFF
    What are the success criteria?
        Bandwidth savings?
        Reducing backup/replication window time?
        Increased compression ratio?
    Regards

  • BusinessDocumentFlow usage

    Hi All,
    I am trying to make use of the BusinessDocumentFlow object to find all related documents to a Sales Order from Lead through to Invoice (for a report). However, it has no QueryByElement structure and no AlternativeKey element. And so I cannot use it for association either. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)
    The report requirement is to find all invoices raised against each Sales Order.
    I know we can access individual related documents by using an association for each doc type but that will take a while to code and all the info is already there in Doc Flow.
    I want to use this to avoid doing cross-deployment queries (as I am lacking the experience in this area).
    An alternative route I am looking at is generating a datasource for the Document Flow object, then use that somehow but I'm not exactly sure how.
    Any ideas?
    Jay

    In our situation a Sales order can have several Invoices (monthly basis). I need to determine at a particular point in time (comparing with the sales order):
    how much has been invoiced;
    how much has been paid;
    how much is outstanding
    - basic sum and difference calculations. With these value fields I can then build a datasource and subsequently join/combine with standard datasources to generate the required report
    Report will have sales order id as key and will also link to some custom business objects I have built.
    But my main question is about how to access the data in the BusinessDocumentFlow object.

  • BW fresher

    hi BW gurus,
    I am new to BW. I am in search of a job in BW platform. I dont know whether tthere is opeinings for freshers or not.  If there please do inform me.  I attended an interview keeping experience but i am unable to clear technical rounds. i got question as
    how many sap r/3 source systems are u having?
    what are the data sources u are using and how are u loading deltas?
    tell me some real time issues with resect to maintenace and support projects so that it will be help ful for me to clear interview. and the real time work which you do in the maintenance and support project.
    I will assign points If u help me in giving good answers

    Hi  Shahid,
    Usually SAP BW consultants are expected to know one or more of the following functional
    modules - FI-CO-SD-MM etc.Also in BW there are different arenas like
    - Data modeling which involves in the design of infocubes/ODS based on the Customer requirements.
    - Backend which involves more of technical stuff like buiding ODS,Cubes and loading data into
      them,resolving data load error issues etc.Also ABAP knowledge required.
    - Front end which involves building BEx queries,creating workbooks and deploying queries to Web.
      Also ABAP knowledge required.
    Assuming that you are new to SAP and SAP BW , I suggest you to start looking for a Frontend
    position which is manageable compared to the rest. With experience and hard work you will
    come to know the rest.
    Above link provided by A.H.P will give better idea about the data sources involved in different
    scenarios.
    Also we have 3 different source systems from which we load data into cubes/ods
    Hope this helps

    class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean">

    <property name="database" value="ORACLE" />
    <property name="showSql" value="true" />
    </bean>
    </property>
    </bean>
    And a sample named query in the hbm.xml file is this
    <query name="Book_List_By_RegisterDate">

  • How to deploy Qaaws queries and Xcelsius in multi server architecture

    Hi Experts ,
    I have developed a very good looking dashboard which uses qaaws queries (Dev ) to get the data in to it . I have deployed these qaaws queries to another server (UAT ) using deploy option in Query as a Web service . But still the webservice URL pointing to my DEV server .
    Also , I saved my xcelsisu file to the BO platform (in DEV) and then I imported this file in to my UAT server using import wizard . Now I opened this xcelsius file in the UAT server . In datamanager , Still I can see my webservice URL's pointing to DEV server .
    How can I deploy Qaaws and Xcelsius in a mult server Architecture . We have different servers for each environment ( Dev, INT,UAT , PRD )
    Need some one help to getout of this problem .
    Please note that my output of Xcelsius is in PDF file .
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Dirasa

    There are several options, and an approach to make the QaaWS services environment independent
    1. When you use the QaaWS clinet builder and use the option to Copy to another server, you'll need to select the Advanced Parameters button on the 1st screen and change the server environment referernce.
    2. QaaWS services can be captured adn moved with the import wizard and Bair files.  You may want to  consider this option if you also want to capture adn contriol the QaaWS defintions for change,manangement, release management and source code control and rollback.  Moving to an new BusinessObjects environment  with Import wizard may require changnig the server environment reference with the AqqWS client connected to the target environement after it is moved.
    We have found an approach to make the QaaWS data connections in Xcelsius BO environment indendent and relatively referenced, so when you move Xcelsius dashboards sourced with QaaWS between BO environements you don't need to redefine the data connection in Xcelsius
    In Xcelsius data connections, after you paste the QaaWS WSDL on the definition tab, and import the Web Service URL field is populated with a full web service URL path http://BusinessObjectsServer/dswsbobje/qaawsservices/queryasaservice
    We have found the after the import you can edit  the web service URL and remove the BO server reference at the beginning and start it with /dswsbobje/qaawsservices/queryasaservice .
    Xcelsius dashboards in the BOE with QaaWS data connections still works to supply data to the dashboard.  When the dashboard run the BOE must assume that without an explict server reference, that it must be the current BO environment.  Another advantage of this approach is it avoids the need for a crossdomain.XML file on the BO web server.

  • Compilation error while deploying an iView containing BI Queries

    Hi All,
    I am trying to use a BW Query in my VC.
    Using BI Query Wizard, i have selected my query. So, when I preview my output in VC, it is giving the output. But when I am deploying my iView into the portal, I am getting the following error:
    Error in executing a process for compilation, .\GUIMachine_Business_Packages\testbi_21817\com.autogen.guimachine.testbi.iView_TestBI\src.core\Iview_testbi_ctl.java:46: cannot resolve symbol

    ("System1"), "/sap/bw/xml/soap/queryview", "ZVC_CUBE", "VCQUERY1", "", 2, 500,"KEY");
    1 error
    The error says that symbol cannot be resolved, which symbol is it talking about?
    Thanks in advance,
    Deep.

    Hi Norbert,
    We add few addons on portal for visual composer.Till EP6.0 sp13 the addons had to be deployed separately onto portal,but since SP14 onwards these come with the portal patch itself and we don't have to deploy the .sda files explicitly for visual composer.
    The constructor of BWQueryFunction class which is being generated by the guimachine of Visual composer corresponds to that present in com.sap.portal.guimachine.BIKITapi.jar file present in SP13 addons and hence you get a compile time error when trying to deploy onto sp15 or sp16 portal.
    One solution to this problem is to deploy the visual composer addons corresponding to SP13.The jar file com.sap.portal.guimachine.BIKITapi.jar is present in com.sap.visualcomposer.BIKiT.sda file.
    Hope this solves your problem.

    Hi,
    For a tutorial with source on how to create and deploy a simple quickstart JEE5 JPA enterprise 3-tier application on your Oracle WebLogic 10.3 server - see the following example that uses the EclipseLink JPA provider. You should be able to transition all of your mapping information (the @ManyToOne and table/column overrides and named queries for example) using either JPA via entity annotations or native extensions if you do not want to implement EJB3.
    see...
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial
    We also have a similar version for Tomcat 6 except the JPA entity beans run outside a container-managed JTA transaction on the web container - for reference.

    We also have a similar version for Tomcat 6 except the JPA entity beans run outside a container-managed JTA transaction on the web container - for reference.

    thank you
