Deployment with netBeans

Hi frnds..
I developed a program with NetBeans IDE, and I want to package it in jar file...with manifest file so dat I can run it with double click.
but I am not able to find the main class...
plz help me out...
thanx.

First of all, the main class is the one who has the "main" method.
To deploy it, create a folder called META-INF. Inside this folder create a txt file like this:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Main-Class: nameOfYourMainClass
Leave 2 blank lines in the end. Save it and rename to MANIFEST.MF
Now, zip all your .class files, images(if required) and the folder META-INF. Rename it to app.jar.
Double click it and it should run.
PS: If you are using external libraries, add a third line to your Manifesf like this 'Class-Path: urLibrary.jar' and keep the library in the same directory as your application.
If the program does not work, run it through console 'java -jar app.jar' and check the errors.

    Please leave  the database instance in the cold mode, take a log backup, then complete data backup, and do the update immediately (without starting the database in between).

  • Deploying my project with Netbeans 4.0

    Does anyone know how I do this? This is one of the pains of Java - no executable files.
    I can't even find a tutorial on how to deploy using Netbeans 4.0.
    Any suggestions?

    Your dead right, it can be a pain in the ass.
    Although, NetBeans IDE makes and places a JAR file of your project in the 'ProjectFolder/dist/' folder, which should run the project when double clicked.
    The problems with this can occur if your using image or sound files (known as resources within a jar file) see my post:

  • Integrate j2ee sdk 1.4 with netbeans

    Hi!
    I'm working on a Win2k server with j2ee sdk 1.4. I've read taht you can integrate it with netbeans 3.6.
    I don't want to work with the netbeans 3.6 integrated Tomcat 5 server, but with the one from Sun because of some requirements at work (We've been working with the j2ee sdk 1.4 for a while and don't want to export configuration files or the like).
    Beign direct, I want to create server apps apps with netbeans 3.6 and I want to deploy them all from within the same IDE...
    I don't know what options, command-line switches and variables need to work with to achieve this matter.
    How can I do that?
    Any comments will be very appreciated!
    Carl!

    To connect to the J2EE 1.4 SDK or Sun Java System Application Server from NetBeans you need the plugin that enables the connection, which hasn't been released yet. It should be available at the end of the month.

  • How do you yeploy Java Program (including database) with Netbeans

    I need to deploy an application I wrote with NetBeans IDE as a jar file such that it would run on any machine other than the development machine. I used MySQL database in this application and i dont want to have to install MySQL on every machine i install it on. Also, the application makes use of bluecove's bluetooth SDK (a .jar file) How do I do this using netbeans? Anyone?

    MySQL will have to be installed where is's used. If you replace it with an embedded version of Derby that could be eliminated.
    NB tutorials cover many subjects, including desktop deployment:
    http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/javase-deploy.html
    Further NB questions should be posted to an NB website; these forums are for Java language questions.

  • How can I get a single jar file with NetBeans?

    How can I get a single jar file with NetBeans?
    When I create the project I get these files:
    dist/lib/libreria1.jar
    dist/lib/libreria2.jar
    dist/software.jar
    The libraries that have been imported to create the project are in separate folders:
    libreria1/libreria1.jar
    libreria2/libreria2.jar
    libreria1, libreria2, dist folders are all located inside the project folder.
    I added the following code to the build.xml:
    <target name="-post-jar">
    <jar jarfile="dist/software.jar">
    <zipfileset src="${dist.jar}" excludes="META-INF/*" />
    <zipfileset src="dist/lib/libreria1.jar" excludes="META-INF/*" />
    <zipfileset src="dist/lib/libreria2.jar" excludes="META-INF/*" />
    <manifest>
    <attribute name="Main-Class" value="pacco.classeprincipale"/>
    </manifest>
    </jar>
    </target>
    Of course there is also the project folder:
    src/pacco/classeprincipale.form
    src/pacco/classeprincipale.java
    Can you tell me what is wrong? The error message I get is as follows:
    C:...\build.xml:75: Problem creating jar: archive is not a ZIP archive BUILD FAILED (total time: 2 seconds)

  • Java DC not deployed with WebDynPro DC

    Hi,
    I've been testing the DC functionality and I'm trying to create the following:
    1) WebDynPro DC (DCA)
    2) Java DC (DCB)
    DCB has code for reading data from a database table (three classes, one is set as a public part). This code is functioning ok in another WebDynpro project where I've used it as an external jar file located in the lib directory and added to classpath.
    DCA has a small table in the view that I'm filling (or trying to) with data from the database.
    DCB has one java class as a Public Part. DCA has this PP defined in the Used DC's (DC Metadata --> DC definition --> Used DC's). I can see the DCB code fine from the DCA's view (I can use the methods from the class).
    I see no code errors and everything compiles ok. I've built the DCA and DCB separately (Development Component --> Build) before doing the project build and deployment.
    When I deploy, I'm getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError for the DCB class (User.class) when the program starts. So it seems that the DCB is not deployed with the DCA. I've tried to look at the properties and java classpath but nothing I've done has helped.
    Purpose is set to compilation, and there is a
    <at-build-time/>
    tag in the .dcdef file.
    Deployment of normal (no DC) Webdynpro projects works fine and the jars in the lib directory are deployed to the server OK.
    Seems like I've tried everything but have found no solution yet. Refreshed every part, re-created everything, re-built, re-deployed etc...
    Shortly: how to get DCB to deploy ?
    Any help is appreciated here
    Kind Regards,
    Jari Pakarinen

    Hi,
    What is the Java DC for then ? If it cannot be used as a part of another DC (deployable unit) then how should it be used ? What is the use if it does not end up at the server with Webdynpro code ?
    The scenario I'm looking for is to include Java classes in a Webdynpro project as a part of the project (not jars done somewhere else, I can do that already) deployed to the server with the Webdynpro.
    Thank you for your help, I'm not blaming you or anything
    Regards,
    Jari

  • Need Help With NetBeans (Java Studio Enterprise 8)'s code generation

    Hi!
    I am using Java Studio Enterprise 8 with NetBeans 4.1 IDE bundled together with it. When trying to create GUI out from NetBeans Form Designer, I don't like the way it generates the code. When I try to use a JTextField, it uses "Fully Qualifed Class Names" (e.g: javax.swing.JTextField) on the code. How do I set NetBeans not to use it but rather use only the class name and generate import lines on top of the code? Also, how do I set it up that it will generate the variable declarations (which is on the uneditable blue portion of the code) on top rather than the default which is placed at the bottom of the class code body. I have tried tweaking the Options menu of this IDE but haven't got any luck...
    Hope you could help, and thanks in advance!

    To address the location of the var decl codegen section (or any codegen location issues), there is a workaround, admittedly, it is a bit tedious.
    Once the form code is generated, as Kris mentioned, open the class in an external editor so that you can edit the generated code.
    Then cut the entire var declaration section along with the begin/end gen-code markers and paste it to the section of the file you desire.
    When you add more components to your form, the codegen will find this section wherever it is and add to it.
    Alternatively, you could just move the non-protected code around the protected within the NB editor, but you would not be able to rearrange the order of the actual code-genned sections.

  • How to use MDS deploying with EAR file

    Hi everybody.
    I would to use MDS in my web application in order to use customization across the sessions. I've performed every step to do this on JDeveloper (11.1.1.3.1). I've tested my application deploying directly from JDeveloper using Application menu > Deploy > "myApp" to "myApplicationServer" (in this way I can choose the repository with a window like this: http://i.stack.imgur.com/Kci9c.png). The repository was prevoiusly registered on the server. In this way my application works fine and they all lived happily ever after.
    My problem occurs when I perform the deployment with "myApp to EAR" mode. When I try to install my EAR file in weblogic, it reply me with this error message:
    An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
    +:oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/xliffBundles" mapped to metadata-store-usage "MAR_TargetRepos" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration.+
    I've looked for a solution around the web (included this forum) and I think that I should modify something in adf-config.xml file (below).
    Which steps I have to perform in order to install my application correctly with an EAR file?

  • ADF Faces with NetBeans Visual Pack

    Hello all,
    I have NetBeans 5.5.1 installed with the Visual Pack and I am looking to try out other libraries with it, in particular ADF Faces from Oracle.
    Does anyone know how to import the components into the NetBeans Visual Pack? They download from oracle as[b] adf-faces-impl-10_1_3_0_4.jar and not as a complib extension, which NetBeans prefers.
    Please if anyones has any experience with getting this to work let me know. Or if you think it can't work let me know as well?
    Hoping to hear from someone soon. Thanks in advance.

    Hello again,
    Anyone out there using ADF faces with NetBeans Visual Pack who can give some feedback?
    I want to be able to use the drag and drop capabilities of the Visual Pack with the ADF faces components, but I don't see how to configure this as they do not come pre-configured as a complib extension.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards.

  • Problem with Netbeans 7.1 and ME SDK 3.0.5 plugin

    Hi!
    I have problem plugin ME SDK 3.0.5 to Netbeans 7.1. When I try to install plugin into Netbeans I get this kind informations:
    Warning - could not install some modules: Profiler (Java ME Projects Support) - The module named org.netbeans.modules.profiler/1 was needed and not found. Java ME SDK CPU Profiler Snapshot Viewer - The module named org.netbeans.modules.profiler/1 was needed and not found. 5 further modules could not be installed due to the above problems.
    Does anyone know what is wrong?
    I am truly grateful for the answer!

    Hi Anvi,
    I think you posted in the right place as the J2ME SDK Team read this forum (though they sometimes don't respond promptly as we would have liked). I also got the same issue as you, but check out the responses by the J2ME SDK Team to: https://blogs.oracle.com/javamesdk/entry/update_java_me_sdk_through
    It seems there are issues with Netbeans 7.1, and they are fixing things for the next release for Netbeans 7.1.1 so I am sure they are aware of problems that we are encountering. Its fine for Netbeans 6.9/7 if you cannot wait though.

    -MikeHi Mike,
    Even I got a similar error message inspite of trying to re-install atleast 10 times! So I gave up and did this:
    1) I downloded J2SE SDK 1.4.2 seperately.
    2) I then downloded JPad Pro IDE (latest version).
    Now both are working really fine for me. :-) Could'nt be bothered to try again and again.
    Its up to you if you want to get the NetBeans installation done but all I wanted was a good IDE and the latest version of the JDK. I have been using it for the last 3 days and it is working perfectly fine!
    Regards :-)
