Depreication posted before capitalization date

HI
I have created an asset in Oct 11 and mentioned dep start date as 01 Oct 11 and also posted capitalization date as 01 Oct 11. But when I see the planned depreciation in AW01N, the depreciation is shown from January 11 onwards and also posted depreciation in January 11.
I am in a testing phase of new rollout and tested this process in DEV client.  How to prevent this posting prior to capitalization date of asset
Regards
Murali

Depreciation calculation date is determined by the combination of Depreciation key and capitalization date.
In your case please check your depreciation key and change the settings accordingly.
AFAMA - Maintain Depreciation key
AFAMP - Period control method
Please check your period control method in AFAMA and go to AFAMP, select appropriate value for acquisition column.

  • Posting not possible (Value date earlier than capitalization date)

Hello , we are getting the error shown below. I'am not sure where to go to fix this can any offer any advice.
    Thank you
Posting not possible (Value date earlier than capitalization date)
    Message no. AA 322
    Diagnosis
Asset 000000040048 0000 was first capitalized on 20080831.
You cannot post to an asset that was not yet capitalized.
    Procedure
    You have the following options:
Change the asset value date of your posting.
Capitalize the asset by posting an acquisition.

Generally this message will come , if you have created a asset  with a capitalization date say   31/08/2008 and you are settling a Internal order for last period say 07 on with a posting date earlier than capitalization date , say 15/08/2008.
The System will not allow you to post because the value date cannot be earlier than capitalization date.
Change the value date to later than capitalization date and post.

  • What's the need for capitalization date and 1st acq. posting date?

    hi guys,
i was wondering what the system would do with capitalization date and first acquisition posting date ??
and what will be the problem if i entered an asset value date (in the acquisition transaction) that's earlier than the capitalization date entered in the asset master record ?!

In practice all assets are not put to use right from the date of purchase.Hence the concept of different dates arises.  One being the acquisition date and the other Capitalization date.
I would buy an asset today but start using it from a later date.  Depreciation has to be calculated from the date of capitalization and not acquisition. But still for record purpose date of purchase would be important.  Hence both the dates are maintained.
Hope this has clarified your doubts.
    Thanks

  • Asset capitalization date not appropriate

    Hi,,
Please tell me while I run Asset settlement through KO88 in period 7 ie, 22October 2010 asset capitalization and first acquisition date become 31.10.2010 instead of 22.10.2010. Because I executed asset settlement through KO88 on 22.10.2010 which is appearing 31.10.2010. What is the actual logic of taking advance value date instead of taking current date? Is it taking entire month and value is stamped on asset master as last day of month.....
    Regards,
    Samrat

    Dear Samrat,
when you enter the capitalization date manually the system uses this date as the default asset value
date when you post the first acquisition to the asset. If you do not  enter a capitalization date in the asset master record, the system   automatically adopts the asset value date of the first acquisition   posting as the capitalization date. The system inserts the asset value    date of the first acquisition posting in the capitalization date field   (Capitalized on...) in the asset master record, when a capitalizing   transaction type is used.
Please check your customizing in IMG: Asset Accounting > Transactions  > Specify How Default Asset Value Date is Determined
The System logic with Asset capitilisation date is as follows:
When no capitalization date is entered in the asset master record  the posting date of the first posting will be taken  as the      capitalization date not the asset value date.
    Documentation:
    R/3 Library:
Asser Accounting > Basic functions for transactions > Dates in Asset accounting
Default Values for Asset Value Date:
    - Initial acquisition > Capitalization date from master record (if in
       same FY, otherwise posting date)
    - Settlement of AuC > Posting date
Set 'Prime Rule' and 'Alt.Rule' for each transaction (in your case it is
    for transaction 'Settlement of AuC')

  • Can we apply custom validation before uploading data in WebADI in 12.1.3

    Hi,
I have requirement of applying custom validation before uploading data from spreadsheet using webADI. How can we do that.
Is there any way in desktop Integration Manager Responsibilty in WebADI.
I have just started exploring webADI
    Please Help Me...
    Thanks,
    Suhani

Why are you posting this in OAF?
Anyway you can by creating a custom PL/SQL wrapper that is called by the WebADI.
Raise an application ERROR in your wrapper and it will show in the WebADI
If you just want to validated VALUES, you are better of creating an LOV on the Column. Then WebADI will do the validation work for you.

  • How to delete an asset with a capitalization date inefaceable and no value?

    Hi all,
An asset was created on the wrong asset class. I would like to erase it but this is impossible because of the capitalization date.
Indeed, I cannot change the fields status variant of the capitalization date, it is compulsory.
Furthermore, as this asset was an error, there are no values on it.
I tried to enter a deactivation date, but this is not possible because of no acquisition performed.
Therefore, I would like to know if it is possible to erase an asset even if a capitalization date has been entered in the master data?
If it is possible, how can I do?
    Thanks for help

    Hi,
This is the drawback in asset master, when you make cap date as mandatory for AS01 transaction.
As a standard practice, cap date gets updated automatically when posting MIGO / F-90 only along with the qty.
In your case, first ask your ABAP member to delete the values from cap date field from table ANLA. (Field Name: AKTIV) for your questioned asset.
Then you can delete that asset with AS06 by choosing Physically delete the asset.
    This will resolve your issue.
But if you make your field status as optional to cap date, then you must not got these kind of issues in the future.

  • How to catch event before retrieving data in table?

    Hello
    I use Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0
I need to set parameters session (Package Vars) before any refresh my page (I retrieve data from views that use this vars).
For this reason I have created method setUserSessionParameters(int[] parameters) in AppModuleImpl.java and I am able to call it from my backing bean.
It's working fine, but I need to call it before any retrieving data in my tables.
May be, there is a usual way to catch event before retrieving data is started?
I'd call my method in that place. I think it would be perfectly well decision.

    Hi,
you can define a PhaseListener method on the f:view component (it has pre and post properties for this). In the after RestoreView phase, you can access the binding container and call teh AM method to set the values. This way, before the page renders, the value is set

  • Changing capitalization date

    hi there
My effort is to add tax (area 10) values to existing assets.
As of now I have  an asset.
    capitalization date 1/1/2003
book deprn start date as 05/30/2003.
but we want , for tax purposes, in area 10, we need the deprn start date as 1/1/2002.
The system is only calculating accum deprn in as92 (for area 10) ONLY if i put the capitalization date as
    1/1/2002.
PLease let me know what would be the implications if I change this to 1/1/2002 on the book deprn values.we are in 2009 and change the fiscal year.
    Thanks
    MSJ

    Hello
I don't think there is any major impact.
Ensure that this tax depreciation area does not post any real time entries.
Make statistical entry as check point.

  • How to change Asset Capitalization date ?

    Hello
    All Experts,
I want to chnage asset capitilizatio date so how can I ?
    Experts guidance is needed.
    Regards,
    Pankaj.

    Hi,
You can change the asset cap date at any point of time using AS02.
But the date in the First acquisition on cannot be changed, since it is a display field.
At the time of changing the cap date, system will shows an warning message like below.....
You should no longer change the capitalization date
    Message no. AA225
    Diagnosis
You have changed the asset capitalization date.
    You can make this change, however this warning should make you aware of the consequences of such a change.}
And what is the business requirement to change the cap date?, since if you have already posted the dep posting, it doesnot make any adjustment to it.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • GR date before delivery date in PO

    Hi all
What setting is required to allow GR to be posted before the delivery date mentioned in PO?
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
System will allow you to post GR before the delivery date mentioned in the PO. If you are getting any error message, then you can make it to warning message in SPRO -- Materials Managment -- Purchasing -- Environmental data -- System messages.
Identify the message number and change it to W.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Thanks,

  • FB01 accrual trasaction posted without reversal date & reason

    Hi,
SAP Payroll accrual transactions uploaded through Ezysolutions has posted without reversal date & reason is there any way to change/add to these transactions.
    Thank you,
    Sekhar

    Hi,
You can read the upload program to see what t.code is used. But, I believe it should interface FBS1, though it's showing FB01 in history header.
Anyways, pick up the doc # from FB03 and enter it in F.81,and run in a test mode before final reversal. And, then ask users to re-upload the data with correct Reversal reason and date.
These fields, being critical fields, are non-modifiable as per standard. And, I wouldn't recommend to make them changeable. Let's treat the cause and not effect!
Upload program must be modified to make these fields mandatory to avoid this kind of errors in future.
    Thanks,
    Nirav

  • Backposting allowed before GRN date..

    Dear All,
At my client side i am able to post consumption before GRN date (Within a same period)
For Example- If i am doing GRN on 20th February and while MB1A i am putting date 10th February (which is before GRN date and even batch is also not created on that date) system is allowing me to back post consumption for that batch.
    What is the reason behind?
    Naren

    Hi Naren,
All user exits and BAdIs available in the MM-IM area are documented in the IMG path:
Materials Management -> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory -> Maintain Customer Exits and Business Add-Ins.
I have been checking them and there is not any exit specifically designed for this.
There are user exits or BAdIs that implement additional checks when posting a goods movement (like MB_CHECK_LINE_BADI), but, in this case, what check could we implement?
This is only my opinion, but, as far as I understand, we would need the system to check if, when you post a goods issue, there is enough stock according to the date within the period. The BAdI would need to take the material, plant and storage location from the posting and run an analysis similar to the one that MB5B makes and determine, within the period, if you have stock for the date. If not, send an error message.
I think this would cause performance problems.
This is the only idea I can think about... sorry that I do not have better news....
    Esther.
