Deq.bat hangs...

Hi B2B Experts,
I'm an Oracle B2B newbie and I'm having problems with tutorial 1:Setting Up a RosettaNet over the Internet Transaction. I've done all the previous steps but when it's time to verify them, the deq.bat file to dequeue either the purchase order or the p.o. confirmation just would not continue. It doesn't display an error trace and the tr1.trc is empty.
I've checked the environments based on setenv.bat and I've also tried the equivalent java command line execution from deq.bat but the result is still the same.
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated since I'm running out of time because my job interview is upcoming.
Thanks in advance
RRDD

Hi,
The subscriber in AQ has not been created. One way for this b2buser subscriber to be created is to run deq.bat first (this script waits for an incoming message in IP_IN_QUEUE) and then you need to follow the tutorial so that the RN message ends up in the IP_IN_QUEUE where your deq.bat is waiting for the message. Once the b2buser subscriber has been created, you can dequeue messages using deq.bat later.
Hope this helps,
Eng

  • EDI  X12 scenario,deq.bat file not generating any trace file.

    hello,
    i have worked on the EDI X12 over internet(AS2) Transaction,everything is working fine until the creation and deployment of configurations on both Acme and GlobalChips servers.But During the Verification of Purchase Order Transactions when i am running deq.bat file on both Acme and GlobalChips servers the dq script is not generating any t1.trc trace file.
    There is no problem with the Trading Partners on both servers they are on upstate,can anyone help me with this issue please,its very urgent.
    note: where will be the web.xml file for transportServlet located,can anyone provide me with the file path.
    thnx

    Hello Sinkar,
    Thanks for your reply,Finally i have managed resolve the issue(deq.bat file is generating t1.trc file) successfully.But there are certain other issues regarding this topic in which i need your help.
    When i am running the deq.bat file in command prompt on both acme and globalchips servers it is showing the following status
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>deq.bat
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.data.IPDeq
    ueue ipdequeue.properties
    IPDequeue start...
    Dequeue from IP_IN_QUEUE
    and it also generated a t1.trc file on both servers,but the prompt in which i have run deq.bat is not giving any further message
    i.e some thing like IPDequeue end.
    and not even coming back to the original path i.e
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>
    and even if close the prompt it is not showing anything in t1.trc file and if i am running the enq_850.bat in acme server it is showing following stat
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>enq_850.bat
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.data.IPEnq
    ueue enq_850.properties
    IPEnqueue start...
    IPEnqueue end.
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>
    and its didn't showing anything in the t1.trc file generated on the globalchips server and same thing is happening when i am running enq_855.bat file on the globalchips server its not showing up anything in the trace file generated on the acme server.
    I have tried one thing that u have suggested for such kind of issue(t1.trc empty) in your forums
    1.) I have applied the patch #6673231 and it is showing the Document Routing Id Field in the B2B UI,but when i am completing all the process in B2B UI and running deq.bat file the result is still the same,the IPDequeue is not ending
    But a certain change has taken place after applying the pat
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.data.IPEnq+
    ueue enq_850.properties+
    IPEnqueue start...+
    Action Name = null
    IPEnqueue end.+
    D:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>+
    C:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>enq_855.bat+
    C:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.data.IPEnq+
    ueue enq_855.properties+
    IPEnqueue start...+
    Action Name = null
    IPEnqueue end.+
    C:\oracle\OraJ2EE\ip\tutorial\X12\runtime>+
    I Think that no action is taking place in both the cases
    bcoz its showing this Action Name = null+
    if that is the case what is the problem here
    I have also set oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.DocumentRouting=true.
    but the situation is still the same,please read the above problem carefully and suggest a solution which would be fruitful for my further progress.
    thanks

  • UA.bat hangs in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2

    Hello,
    Same problem as here: UA.bat is not working on OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 version
    I did a fresh installation of OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit (I installed the 64bit version) and patched it to 11.1.1.6.2. When trying to upgrade the .rpd file from 10.3.4.1 the Upgrade Assistant simply hangs when clicking on the "next" button after supplying the relevant informations. Setting the ORACLE_HOME environment variable as mentioned in the thread above didn't solve the problem. Also I don't have another oracle home on that machine, so I think I started the correct UA.
    When looking at the logfile of UA i get those messages:
    [2012-06-11T10:36:58.033+02:00] [Framework] [NOTIFICATION] [] [upgrade.Framework] [tid: 11] [ecid: 0000JVQg5GmBt1YzLofP8A1FpQrf000002,0] Please enter the repository password:
    [2012-06-11T10:36:58.051+02:00] [Framework] [NOTIFICATION] [] [upgrade.Framework] [tid: 11] [ecid: 0000JVQg5GmBt1YzLofP8A1FpQrf000002,0] Please enter the 10g Admin password:I get those log file entries immediately after I press the "next" button. Needless to say I entered the correct admin password and a valid repository password. It also hangs with the same messages in the logfile when I only supply the Admin username but no passwords at all, so I guess even though I enter both passwords UA simply doesn't recognize them and fails to present me a error message.
    This worked previously in 11.1.1.6.1 (and also in 11.1.1.5), and there where no changes to the .rpd file so I don't think it's the fault of the .rpd file.
    Did anyone encounter this issue and solved it or has anyone a clue what I did wrong? I don't think I made a mistake when applying the patches for 11.1.1.6.2 as I followed the patch instructions down to the last dot and comma and also I didn't get any errors. BI Publisher is up and running, and Analytics is also running. Also I am able to connect to the admin console as well as to enterprise manager.
    thanks & regards
    Christian
    error with the thread url...

    Just FYI, I raised a SR with support and they simply told me that it won't be supported to go from 10g straight to 11.1.1.6.2. The "fix" will be a error message saying so. The solution would be to rollback all the patches, migrate the .rpd file and apply the patches again. I am really in the mood to rant like hell, but I guess it's pointless anyway...
    cheers

  • Problem executing .bat file from within Java class

    I'm stumped: I have no problem executing a .bat file that sets classpaths and executes a Java jar, but when I try to execute other executables first and then the .jar, my application hangs and since the DOS box doesn't come up over my GUI, I can't see what's going on.
    This works:
    public void execute() throws Exception {
    String s = "c:\\cs47auxs\\omnijar\\omni.bat";
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("\"" + s + "\"");
    p.waitFor();
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame,
    "The Database Has Been Successfully Reloaded.",
    "Information Message",
    JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
    Here's the .bat 'omni.bat'
    set JAVA_HOME=c:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\bin
    %JAVA_HOME%\java -jar C:\CS47AUXS\OMNILOADJAR\OmniLoad.jar
    This doesn't work:
    public void execute() throws Exception {
    String s = "c:\\cs47auxs\\omnijar\\jobomni.bat";
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("\"" + s + "\"");
    p.waitFor();
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame,
    "The Database Has Been Successfully Reloaded.",
    "Information Message",
    JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
    Here's the .bat file 'jobomni.bat'
    SET NETX_HOME=C:\CS47AUXS
    SET COBOL_HOME=C:\CS47AUXS\OFFLINE
    CD %NETX_HOME%
    CALL SET-NETX.CMD
    CD %COBOL_HOME%
    SSBPPC10 JOBOMNI X
    SET JH=C:\J2SDK1.4.2_04\BIN
    SET OMNI_HOME=C:\CS47AUXS\OMNILOADJAR
    CD %OMNI_HOME%
    %JH%\java -jar omniload.jar
    Can anyone shed some light here? Even when I execute the application from the command line the new DOS box doesn't become visible nor can I see any errors. If I could just get that visibility, I could probably figure out what is going wrong.

    Same problem with me as well.... Badly looking for a solution...
    I predict the following:
    - If your batch file has pretty less number of dos/shell commands then it gets executed fine with exec() and proc.waitFor();
    - If you increase the number of dos/shell commands in the bat file then try executing it then it definately hangs at proc.waitFor();
    Even "cmd.exe /C C:\\test.bat" hangs... if the commands are more...
    Is this some sort of bug? or am i doing anything wrong? I tried searching for solution on the net and search forums... but couldnt find a solution for the same.. not sure where i missed, what i missed...
    Incase some one finds a solution.. do post it here...

  • Message from the IP_IN_QUEUE is automatically dequed

    Hi all,
    There are 2 messages in the IP_IN_QUEUE. I tried to dequeue it from BPEL using the AQ Adapter, but it is not dequeing. One of the reason could be the Payload structure of the existing messages in the IP_IN_QUEUE is different from the Payload structure of the schema imported in the BPEL Designer.
    So I thought of Enqueue a new message into the IP_IN_QUEUE and then thought of dequeue with the same message structure from BPEL thru AQ Adapter.
    I am able to enqueue a new message. I can able to see a new record inserted into the table IP_QTAB for the queue IP_IN_QUEUE, corresponding to this new enqueue message. But after some times, this message is automatically dequeued from IP_IN_QUEUE(i.e the corresponding row is automatically removed IP_QTAB)
    Can any one tell me how the message can be automatically dequeued from IP_IN_QUEUE. Also suggest if there are any way to find what are all the messages dequeued from IP_IN_QUEUE and what process dequeues them.
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    There are no automatic processes that dequeue messages from the IP_IN_QUEUE. When you dequeue a message from the IP_IN_QUEUE, you must make sure that the consumer name matches. The default consumer name is b2buser when B2B Server enqueues to the IP_IN_QUEUE. However, the default can be overrided by the Document Routing ID in the Document Definition Parameters page. If you are enqueuing from BPEL, you may have selected something totally different. I do not know of ways to track how the message is dequeued. You may want to post that question to the Oracle AQ forum.
    One suggestion is setup the tutorial so that you have the end to end scenario working. You can use the deq.bat or deq.sh in the $ORACLE_HOME/ip/tutorial/X12/runtime directory (for example, if you use the X12 tutorial) to dequeue messages from IP_IN_QUEUE. The default consumer name b2buser is assumed. After you are able to do that, then you want to try dequeueing using BPEL.

    Hello Prasanna,
    Thanks for your reply,i have checked the parameters with the document protocol parameters,when i have compared i have noticed that some parameters given in the error are not there in the B2B UI and some parameters present in B2B UI are not shown in error part of t1.trc file i am providing the details below
    Not there in the b2b ui_
    <parameter name="InterchangeTrailerControlNumber" value="000001014"/>
    <parameter name="InterchangeChildCount" value="1"/>
    <parameter name="ErrorScope" value="Interchange"/>
    <parameter name="RepeatingSeparator" value=""/>
    <parameter name="InterchangeAckRequested" value="0"/>
    <parameter name="InterchangeControlNumber" value="000001014"/>
    Not there in the t1.trc file_
    Responsible Agency Code =X
    Replacement Character = 0*7c
    Security Information = " "
    Functional Group Time = system time
    Interchange ecs file = " " Browse
    group ecs file = " " Browse
    ImplementationClass = oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.document.edi.EDIDocumentPlugin
    Functional Group Date = system date
    Application Receiver's Code
    Application Sender's Code
    Tag Delimiter = 0*3d
    Having different values in the b2b ui_
    <parameter name="SubelementDelimiter" value="+"/> , value in the b2b ui is 0*2b
    <parameter name="DecimalSeparator" value=""/> , value in b2b ui is 0*2e
    <parameter name="ElementDelimiter" value="~"/> , value in b2b ui is 0*7e
    <parameter name="InterchangeComponentElementSep" value="+"/> , value in b2b ui is 0*2b
    <parameter name="SegmentDelimiter" value=" ' "/> , value in b2b ui is 0*27
    I have changed the values in B2B UI according to the values shown in the trace file,i changed 0*2b to "+" , 0*27 to" ' " , 0 * 7e to "~" and 0*2e to " "
    but it generated another error i.e
    5097: Invalid delimiter settings
    So i have replaced the overridden values with original values except the DecimalSeparator and restared the whole B2B instance and ran the bat files but the result is still the same it is showing the old error again i.e
    5082: XEngine error - Guideline look-up failed.
    So can anyone please suggest me a solution for this problem as it is very urgent and if this error is resolved then i can successfully finish all the remaining scenarios as the same error is persisting in the EDI EDIFACT scenario as well
    Thanx

  • B2B - Purchase Order Tutorial - EDI EDIFACT over Generic Exchange

    Hi All,
    I am new to B2B and am trying out Tutorial 2 from
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/integrate.1012/b19370/toc.htm
    (Part II -Purchase Order Tutorials - Tutorial 2).
    This is about setting up interchange of EDI EDIFACT over Generic Transaction
    I was able to complete all tutorial tasks successfully and was able to deploy the configuration but am getting stuck at enqueing and dequeing the purchase order.
    This was the setup we did
    1. Installed infrastructure repository (b2b schema)
    2. Installed Oracle Application Server version 10.1.2.0.2
    3. Installed Oracle B2B by providing database details from (1)
    I have two such Oracle B2B Servers setup on two Redhat Linux instances.
    In section 5.4.10 of the tutorial (5.4.10 Both Servers, Task 5: Verifying the Purchase Order Transaction ), it says
    On both the Acme and GlobalChips servers, run one of the following files:
    In a Bourne or Korn shell—deq.sh
    In Windows—deq.bat
    This dequeues the purchase order on the GlobalChips server and the purchase order confirmation on the Acme server.
    The dequeue script generates a trace file, t1.trc, which shows the message that the application receives from OracleAS Integration B2B.
    I ran deq.sh on the Acme side and t1.trc has got generated, but there is no message in the t1.trc file. It is empty.
    Also when I run enq_orders.sh , I do not see this getting dequeued at the GlobalChips side.
    What am I missing here?

  • PX Deq Credit: send blkd is getting hang while refreshing materialized view

    Hi All,
    When we are refreshing materialized view. It is taking more than 2.30 mins. Initially it was taking 1.40 Mins.
    We are using parallel and base tables are partitioned. When i checked the tkprof report i see lots of insert query is mostly waiting for PX Deq Credit: send blkd event. When i check the ASH report I don't find any query related to MV was running but still MV refresh was going on

  • Asmca hangs during grid installation on windows server 2008 r2 x64

    Hi all,
    searched the web, but did not found a solution to this right now.
    The Grid Infrastructure installation (11.2.0.2) hangs every time i tried the installation (Basic, Advanced) on a two node configuration. Had the same issue with 11.2.0.1.
    Environment:
    - W2K8 Server EE x64, all patches installed
    - FC Storage attached
    - UAC disabled
    - Firewall diabled
    - Prereqs implemented as recommended by RAC Assurance Team
    - Using Domain-User (Member of the local Administrator Group) for installation
    - Public-IPs and SCAN-IPs in DNS has been configured
    - GNS and IMPI not used
    Used diskpart to create extended partition and logical partition as described in the manuals. Stamped GRID-disk using asmtoolg.
    Whatever I tried, asmca seems to hang while creating the diskgroup for OCR/Voting ...
    ... maybe someone out there has an idea what may cause this?
    Some logs that explain the problem:

  • Executing batch file from Java stored procedure hang

    Dears,
    I'm using the following code to execute batch file from Java Stored procedure, which is working fine from Java IDE JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.
    public static String runFile(String drive)
    String result = "";
    String content = "echo off\n" + "vol " + drive + ": | find /i \"Serial Number is\"";
    try {
    File directory = new File(drive + ":");
    File file = File.createTempFile("bb1", ".bat", directory);
    file.deleteOnExit();
    FileWriter fw = new java.io.FileWriter(file);
    fw.write(content);
    fw.close();
    // The next line is the command causing the problem
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd.exe /c " + file.getPath());
    BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
    String line;
    while ((line = input.readLine()) != null)
    result += line;
    input.close();
    file.delete();
    result = result.substring( result.lastIndexOf( ' ' )).trim();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    result = e.getClass().getName() + " : " + e.getMessage();
    return result;
    The above code is used in getting the volume of a drive on windows, something like "80EC-C230"
    I gave the SYSTEM schema the required privilege to execute the code.
    EXEC DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission('SYSTEM', 'java.io.FilePermission', '<<ALL FILES>>', 'read ,write, execute, delete');
    EXEC DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission('SYSTEM', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'writeFileDescriptor', '');
    EXEC DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission('SYSTEM', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'readFileDescriptor', '');
    GRANT JAVAUSERPRIV TO SYSTEM;
    I have used the following to load the class in Oracle 9ir2 DB:
    loadjava -u [system/******@orcl|mailto:system/******@orcl] -v -resolve C:\Server\src\net\dev\Util.java
    CREATE FUNCTION A1(drive IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2 AS LANGUAGE JAVA NAME 'net.dev.Util.a1(java.lang.String) return java.lang.String';
    variable serial1 varchar2(1000);
    call A1( 'C' ) into :serial1;
    The problem that it hangs when I execute the call to the function (I have indicated the line causing the problem in a comment in the code).
    I have seen similar problems on other forums, but no solution posted
    [http://oracle.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/oracle-jdeveloper-l/run-an-exe-file-using-oracle-database-trigger-1567662]
    I have posted this in JDeveloper forum ([t-853821]) but suggested to post for forum in DB.
    Can anyne help?

    Dear Peter,
    You are totally right, I got this as mistake copy paste. I'm just having a Java utility for running external files outside Oracle DB, this is the method runFile()
    I'm passing it the content of script and names of file to be created on the fly and executed then deleted, sorry for the mistake in creating caller function.
    The main point, how I claim that the line in code where creating external process is the problem. I have tried the code with commenting this line and it was working ok, I made this to make sure of the permission required that I need to give to the schema passing security permission problems.
    The function script is running perfect if I'm executing vbs script outside Oracle using something like "cscript //NoLogo aaa1.vbs", but when I use the command line the call just never returns to me "cmd.exe /c bb1.bat".
    where content of bb1.bat as follows:
    echo off
    vol C: | find /i "Serial Number is"
    The above batch file just get the serial number of hard drive assigned when windows formatted HD.
    Same code runs outside Oracle just fine, but inside Oracle doesn't return if I exectued the following:
    variable serial1 varchar2(1000);
    call A1( 'C' ) into :serial1;
    Never returns
    Thanks for tracing teh issue to that details ;) hope you coul help.

  • Excel save as pdf hangs when launched through a watch folder

    Hi there,
    I've configured a watch folder to launch a batch file which launch a .exe file I've written in C++
    In this application I launch Excel which open a .XLS document which contains macros.
    At the end of the computations there is a macro which save as pdf.
    At this point everything hangs and I have to cancel the job I've created for the watch folder.
    If I disable the watch folder and I place the starting file inside the watch folder
    and I manually launch the .bat file (which usually is launched by the watch folder) everything works perfectly.
    I really really hope there will be someone here coming with a solution for me.
    By the way on the windows forum I've got a very disappointing answer where they stated it was probably a fault of my application.
    Well fortunately that was not the problem because
    I can reproduce the problem even removing my application from the equation so now we have cleared
    the issue is not casued by my application.
    So if you want to try it yourself just follow the steps below:
    1) create an excel document so that after you open it it automatically run a save as pdf operation and close excel. (let's call this document "PRINT_TEST.xls")
    2) create a batch file named "Excel_launcher.bat" and write the command
    ""C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\EXCEL.EXE" "C:\teststampapdf\PRINT_TEST.xls""
    3) Now create a watch folder job that execute that batch file.
    something like "C:\watchfolderX\Excel_launcher.bat"
    4) now create a watch folder that uses that job and for file filter use "*.txt" enable it and start it
    5) now launch manually the batch file and you'll see that it print the pdf and closes itself
    6) drop a txt file inside the watch folder you've created and you'll see it hangs at the save as pdf operation.
    This is something that have to be fixed and it's due to excel.
    I can launch and save documents with all the application I want but excel so that's the problem.
    Please take a look and keep me updated I badly need to find a solution for this issue.
    THANK YOU in advance,
    Davide

    Hi Davide,
    This is no the right forum for your issue. I think you can consult this issue on some Excel end-user related forum.

  • Test Execution hangs while executing a test from Command prompt option

    I have done the following
    1) Created a script Test driver
    2) Added different scripts as Script->Properties->Assets to the driver script
    3) Call each of this asset script from TestDriver using command getScript("<<ScrptName>>".run(1, true, true, true);
    4) Now calling this TestDriver script from command prompt with command
    e:\\OracleATS\\agent
    runScript.bat E:\\INTEGRATION_SERVICES\\Identity_management\\Automation\\Scripts\\MasterScripts\\TestDriver
    TestDriver.jwg
    The script execution hangs at "Initializing VU 1 for Script TestDriver. After few mintues of seeing this message i get error "Execution Timed Out".
    Do I need to keep openscript UI open for script execution from command line ?
    Is there any way to increase this Execution Time out ? May be it is taking time to load the internal script assets. AS other scripts are running fine on the same machine from command prompt itself.
    Complete error is as follows
    C:\Documents and Settings\oracle>e:\\OracleATS\\agent\\runScript.bat E:\\INTEGRATION_SERVICES\\Identity_management\\Automation\\Scripts\\MasterScripts\\TestDriv

    abort - Abort the virtual user cleanly, before it finishes the current itera

    exit - Terminate the process immediately

  • Flash plugin hangs all browsers on my mac

    Starting about a week ago, about 1/3 of sites that use flash cause my browser to hang.   It's not browser specific - happens the same in Firefox, Safari, and Opera.   Symptom is complete freeze of the browser, requiring force quit.   An easy reproduce is http://www.chase.com ; that site crashes my browser with 100% repeatability.
    Disabling the flash plugin completely fixes the problem, but then I can't see flash content.
    System details:
    OS:  Mac OS X 10.5.8
    Hardware:   Mac Pro Quad-core 2.66Ghz
    Flash player version:  10.0.43_34
    Browser: All
    I have already tried all of the following:
          • Uninstalling / reinstalling flash player.
          • Deleting/rebuilding browser profiles
          • Installing every version of player 10.x available in the archive, and a couple versions of 9.x ... all cause the same problem.
    Interesting note:
         • Problem does not occur on my MacBook Pro, which has a nearly identical software configuration.
    I have filed a bugreport, but what good does that do me?  I don't even have privileges to view the bugreport, so I don't know whether it's been responded to or not.   In the meantime, half the web is unusable because everybody uses flash.

    I had this exact same problem with my macbook pro 2.6Ghz laptop
    I was running OSX 10.5.7 with flash 8 or so when some websites I frequent forced me to upgrade. The player didn't work off the bat and after re installing the player as well as all my browsers, repairing permissions I was starting to lose hope. I got the latest system update to 10.5.8 and afterward determined it was the plugin itself that was the problem. Couldn't fix it by removing the plugin from my library files, and even worse couldn't find Flash 8 or 9 ANYWHERE to downgrade.
    The installer itself is pretty useless as you can only choose the drive to install the plugin and not integrate it seperately into your browsers as you choose. I suppose this is for convenience, but when it doesn't work it's a real bummer. Some linux users I know have far more problems with flash 10 than I do, so I'm thankful to have recieved at least minimal support for my platform from Adobe.
    I hypothesized that Adobe simply did not create a very versatile plugin, and that since everyone and their dog has snow leopard (with no flash problems whatsoever) that snow leopard managed to recieve better support. Sure enough installing snow leopard and re-installing the plugin has yielded no problems so far. Good thing I had a free snow leopard upgrade disk with my computer or I, like many other people here, would still be unsatisfied.
    What has flash 10 done for me that flash 8 hasn't? Nothing but headaches so far.
    Overall Adobe satisfaction rating: 3/10
    You guys have made great code in the past! Stop being lazy!

  • Executing a .bat file from java code

    Im writing a utility and i need to be able to create and execute a .bat file from my program. I can create the .bat file fine but when i try to execute it nothing happens. I tried to use the following line of code to try to execute the .bat file (called make.bat) :
    try
    String parameterString = "\"C:\\WINNT\\System32\\cmd.exe\" C:\\ITS_Test\\make.bat";
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(parameterString);
    catch (Exception e)
    System.out.println(e);
    The Runtime.getRuntime()exec() method worked fine when trying to execute an excel file but for some reason it dosen't want to work for the DOS prompt. Any ideas?

    Thanks everyone for all the replies.
    I have tried all the above with no luck. Im using netbeans, does anyone think that it could be a problem with the IDE.
    I tired the following code :
    String parameterString = "cmd.exe /C \"C:\\ITS_Test\\make.bat\"";
    Process pr = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(parameterString);
    pr.waitFor();
    This code does not throw any exceptions but just hangs. I also tried:
    String [] parameterString = {"cmd", "/c", "C:\\ITS_Test\\make.bat"};
    Process pr = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(parameterString);
    pr.waitFor();
    and:
    String parameterString = "\"C:\\WINNT\\System32\\cmd.exe\" \"C:\\ITS_Test\\make.bat\"";
    Process pr = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(parameterString);
    pr.waitFor();
    with the same result. Does anyone know why it just hangs and nothing happens (no exceptions thrown)?
