Description mismatch due to SAP log ins in different lanuages

Hi All,
We have implemented new condition types with the English description. But user is logging in to SAP with Spanish language and observed the description are scattered with different description (what I feel is available English description is translated in to nearest equal Spanish descriptions).
User is now requesting for the one of the below options.
1.When ever they log in to SAP with Spanish as language they want see the English description as it is how we have configured initially OR
2.They will provide us the Spanish description which we need apply in our initial configuration.
Please let me know how it can be done.
1.How to do the configuration which will show same English description irrespective of English or Spanish SAP in's.
2.After getting the Spanish equivalent description can I go and change the same in my initial configuration.

OK, solved it.
Don't use the TRACELEVEL and/or TRACELEVELPROPAGATION settings.

    I'm getting very confused with setting up multiple user accounts on my Mac Pro for my wife and I. We each have a separate iTunes account, and we want to keep our music libraries seaprate. I've set up two user accounts on the Mac Pro and I have my iTunes authorised and logged into my user account on my user account. Under my wifes user account (i.e. a separate log in on the computer) I'm trying to set up her iTunes account, but I can't download or play anything from the cloud - it just says "This computer is already associated with another iTunes Account" and tells me that if I 'transfer' then I won't be able to use the other one for 90 days! This is really annoying as my wife can't access music she has purchased on her iTunes account on the home machine. We're not trying to do anything dodgy, just access our music on our own accounts on separate log ins on the same machine. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi Allan, thanks for that. I've already set up a log in for my wife and that is all working fine. The problem is that when she logs in and opens iTunes and trys to associate her library with her iTunes account she gets the error message "This computer is already associated with another iTunes account". Whilst this is true, the computer is associated with my iTunes account under my separate log in, which should have nothing to do with hers. If she transfers the association to her account it will lock me out of my content on my log in for 90 days - I'm trying to work out how to associate each of the log in accounts with a separate iTunes account so we can access our music independently of one another without locking each other out. Hope that makes sense!

    Load the library which doesn't contain the songs and drag them into the open iTunes application window. If you need to move them between different computer user accounts, put them into /Users/Shared/.

    They can, but not at the same time.
    If one user left iTunes running, and another user tries to use iTunes from a different Windows user ID, that second user will get an error message.  If they really want to use iTunes, they either have to beg the first user to log in and close iTunes, or else they have to restart the computer.
    If you are asking the technical reason why, it is something about context switching.

    This common login is supposed to be one reason why Adobe can't implement NNTP. But what function does it serve? I've commented in another thread, and below is more or less, what i said there...
    That, i think, was the most assinine idea anyone ever came up with. I see no reason for not having separate log ins for store and forums / downloads. In fact, i can't think of one good reason to combine the two.
    If i were a user of the Adobe store, i would definitely prefer to have a separate login and password for that area. I think most people would. I see a lot of aliases in the forums. In the store, you'd want to use your real name for tax and audit purposes. Moreover, what's to stop people creating two identities anyway? So, the whole purpose of a common id is meaningless.
    Am sure, that even at this stage, it wouldn't be too difficult to separate the two. For instance, whenever i open the forums i see a welcome at the top of the screen. Right above 'Home'. Yet, i still have to login to the forums... what give? Idiotic.
    Adding to the above, doing away with this single log in would also mean an end to this frustration of suddenly getting logged off, randomly staying logged in, etc., etc.

I do hope you are not a member of the Adobe higher quarters, and that you are not officially speaking for Adobe, because a company that isn't able to recognize and correct a bad policy decision is doomed.     I have a Windows 7 HP desk top - rather new and functioning well. My email is free from AOL - Internet connection is AT&T. In logging on to the email account it is the typical user name/password process. When I now click on email log in or other log ins - the log in data entry space caret is barely visible and the typing I enter is barely visible, but when the entry data is correct my log in is accepted. And in all my Bookmarks only the icons are visible until I rest my mouse pointer on the icon.     That is not always a mistake. There are cases where it makes sense to do both (i.e., to import both '*' and a specific class name from that package at the same time). I believe the common example is:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.util.List;Now you can use "List" as a short name for "java.util.List", but must use "java.awt.List" in full for "java.awt.List" objects. If you just did:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.util.*;Then you couldn't use List as a short name for anything--because it is ambiguous. You'd have to use both "java.awt.List" and "java.util.List" spelled out in full.
    Or, if you did:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.util.*;

  • Protection of SAP Log Files

    Does anyone know of any tools (SAP or third-party) to protect SAP log files (system logs, security audit logs, etc.) from alteration by an authorized user (e.g., someone with SAP_ALL)?  We are looking for an audit-friendly method to protect log files such that someone with SAP_ALL privileges (via Firefighter or special SAP userid (DDIC, SAP*)) can't perform actions and then cover up their tracks by deleting log entries etc.  For example, we're wondering if any tools exist that enable the automatic export of the log files to a protected area (that's inaccessible to users with SAP privileges)?  We'd certainly appreciate any advice or insight as to how to resolve this issue.

    For anyone who is interested, I wanted to pass along what we did (this was in response to an audit finding):
    First, SAP_ALL access is restricted to monitored Firefighter accounts (we already had that in place).  Recognizing that users with SAP_ALL and super-user access at the UNIX level (i.e., our Basis Team) can still circumvent pretty much any measure we take (e.g., can disable alerts in CCMS, delete batch jobs, deactivate Security Audit Log filters, delete Security Audit Log files, etc.), at least the actions would be captured via FF  (although they could disable that as well) or other utilities at the UNIX level.  And the more things the person has to disable/deactivate, the more likely it becomes that someone would notice that something was amiss. 
    Our company was already using SPLUNK to capture logs from other (non-SAP) systems so we decided to leverage that to capture and retain certain SAP Security Audit Log entries.  We created a batch job on SAP that runs a custom program at 5 minute intervals to extract records from the Security Audit Log files into a UNIX file (the program includes some logic that uses timestamps in the UNIX file to determine which records to extract).  The UNIX file is monitored by the UNIX tail-f command which is spawned by a Perl script.  The output from the tail-f command is then piped to a file on a central syslog server via the logger command in the script.  Finally, a SPLUNK process, which monitors syslog entries, extracts the information into SPLUNK real-time.
    This process is not bulletproof as our Basis Team (with SU privileges at the UNIX level) could disable the Perl script or delete/change entries within the UNIX file.  All we can really do is make it difficult for them to cover their tracksu2026

    exactly:) you first gotta transfer the apps from your devices by connecting them and going to file and "transfer purchases" and it should bring the apps over
    PS: do make sure that the computer is authorized for all of the purchases do this
    -go to store at the very top of the page (usually up there with file,edit,view,and controls)
    -choose authorize this computer
    -enter the email address and password associated with the purchases you are transferring and hit authorize!!
    -quick transfer and done, you guys can share whatver you transfer to the library

    I am unable to view SAP logs in NWA logs and traces..It keeps on processing, but we can see logs once in a blue moon only.
    Since, NWA is main and powerful tool for J2ee engine troubleshooting, we need this be perfect so that we can make use to troubleshoot other errors.
    How to check if there is any problem with the NWA ? it opens properly and i am able to login and browse through the tabs..Please help.

    Thanks for your reply.The problem here is that i am not able to view "Last 24 hours" logs under Logs and Traces..!! And my question here was how to check if there is any problem with the NWA itself..??
    Sometimes, after processing for a long time, It opens...
    NWA is configured properly and i am able to use it..but, when it comes to checking logs, it keeps on processing for a long time and never shows the results most of the time..

    The new users are set-up as "standard" and the old ones were "Administrators"
    All files are missing, i.e. no desktop files etc. But they are located in a folder called "Users 1" which is a new folder.
    Can anyone help?

    1/ boot on Recovery part (command R)
    2/ find "terminal" in disk utilities
    and write "resetpassword" for root. Enter a new password for the root user.
    3/ reboot as root user (or when your are login, log out and typing to open a other user "root")
    in the "system pref" panel, open "users and groups" and then create new user with the same name, same password.. normally it must be asking you about "You are already an account with the same name" say yes. And it's done.
    4/ Log out. re-log as the normal user. desactivated the root user.

    Hello,
    I am trying to use SAP Logging in my J2EE Web Application. When I tried adding the line of code "import com.sap.tc.logging.*;" the compiler complained as it's not found. Then I tried adding by "set additional libraries" and found "com.sap.tc.Logging". But now, I cannot add the line of code "private static Location loc = Location.getLocation("...");" because the class Location is not found in com.sap.tc.Logging package.
    Is there a different pkg or library to use?
    Is there something that's changed across different SPs about SAP Logging?

    Hi Kiran,
    the com.sap.tc.logging.Location class resides in the logging.jar. This JAR could be found in the following directory of your Web AS installation: \usr\sap\<SID>\JC<instance_number>\j2ee\deploying\lib.
