Deserialization Failed when testing BAPI exposed as a web service

Hello, I have created a webservice by expoing BAPI_EQMT_MODIFY. I am planning on using this service to add partner information to an equipment from a .Net UI. When I test the service from the web service home page, I get an error message: "Deserialization Failed". The SOAP response looks as follows:

Please help resolving the issue. Also, if there is any other way of updating an equipment with partner information, please let me know.
Thank you very much in advance

Hi,
have you checked OSS note 809901? It looks like your problem. If not have a look on service.sap.com there are some other OSS notes related to "Deserialization Failed".

  • Authentication while consuming a BAPI exposed as a web service

    Hi all,
This is the scenario - I am consuming a web service in my web dynpro application. The web service is nothing but a BAPI which is exposed as WS.
My query - how do I achieve authentication from the web dynpro application to the web service using SAP Logon ticket?
In NWDS, after I import the Web service and create a WS model, there's a node called 'Logical Ports'. In that node, I've set the authentication type in the security tab as 'Use SAP Logon Ticket'. But that doesn't work.Is there any other configuration to be made?
Also, immaterial of the type of authentication I specify(even if I specify 'no authentication'), only if I set the userid & password for accessing the backend in my code, does my application work!! Otherwise, it throws an authorization error!!
I'm struck with this issue for quite sometime. Have gone through help.sap links and also SAP docs. Most of the docs deal with either security for an RFC model or for a Web service project(EJB). I am not able to find a solution for my case.
Can somebody help me solve this?
    Points assured.

  • Failed to test a SAP PI Published web service on SOAPUI

    Hi All,
I have developed the RFC to Web service through SAP PI 7.1 . Web service published on 'Services Registry' and test on it. It accepts the my request and respond from SAP R3. All the message was successfully recorded on SXMB_MONI.
In Integration Directory, i could view the web service URL . I navigated to the Sender Agreement -> Display WSDL and i could see the "WSDL URL' and wsdl content on large text box.
I access the WSDL URL from SOAPUI tool and set the preference -> proxy setting also. it populated the request message successfully but respond gives the '400 Bad HTTP request' and Detail: -> illegal path specified  . No SOAPUI request recorded on SXMB_moni.
i try the same following way also . i saved the WSDL on xml file and access it through the SOAPUI -> import project. that also failed on SOAPUI.
Can you please help to solve the issue ?
    Thanks,

  • Any existing BAPI that can be wrapped and exposed as a web service ???

    Hi ,
I am designing PI Collaboration Platform and that all about Monitoring across SAP ECC, SAP PI and Non-SAP applications.
BUSINESS CASE: Some clients are  looking for a solution that allows there management some visibility into the end-to-end aspect of processes, we will limit our discussion to SAP ECC and PI.
SOLUTION: BAM ultimately helps solve this problem at an enterprise level - however that is a heavy investment for most organizations - is there an alternative that we can provide ? Example a generic web service that can be invoked from a 3rd party tool to provide reports.
    We do have solution :
We can configure Proxy adapter and can write Java web service to invoke a method to extract the data from ECC and one or more report generating methods based on the standard ( like PDF,EXCEL etc)
but we are still looking  for an existing BAPI that can be wrapped and exposed as a web service ????
Need solution for the above ?

    Hi Sanjay,
Yes  BAM  has a bigger take, if you are looking for PI monitoring reports  then please have a look at the following blogs which might
give you some insight.this basically deal with reading data from SXMB_MONI tables.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/909760cb-0ec8-2a10-4a96-ee8417acfbc9
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/PIMonitoringFunctionality-FetchingDatafromSXMB_MONIStandardTables-PartI
i dont think there is any BAPI as such atleast wrt to PI.

  • How can I test my Query As A Web Service?

    Hi,guru:
I have created my Web Service based on universe which based on SAP BW query using Query As A Web Service Designer, but when I use it in Dashboard on BOBJ platform by passing a parameter to the Web Service, it seems no response from the Server,I made 2 test steps:
1.Pass a value to the input parameter,I checked by ST01 in BW Server and see no records of the action, and no result return.
2.Pass a blank to the input parameter,I checked by ST01 in BW Server and got many records, and all data be retrived.
It seems that when I passed the parameter, the Web Service seems no response and didn't run at all. Is there anybody who can tell me how can I test the Web Service,I want to test it and input my parameter.
Thanks very much for your quick response.

  • How to Specify Metadata When Adding Content Using iTunes U Web Service?

I've been developing Java applications using iTunes U Web service and uploaded content to iTunes U site using iTunes U Web service without problem. Now I want to add metadata fields (name, artist name, album name, etc.) for the tracks I uploaded. It seems to me that "AddTrack" will do. So I tested it but it neither adds a track under the specified group nor updates metadata fields for an existing track. It turned out "MergeTrack" actually updates metadata fields for an existing track. So is there any way to specify metadata at the time of adding content using iTunes U Web service? And what exactly does AddTrack do? This is all about contents hosted by iTunes U site and no RSS is involved.
I'm referring to the "AddTrack" method in iTunes U Web service:
    http://deimos.apple.com/rsrc/doc/iTunesUAdministrationGuide/iTunesUWebServices/c hapter18_section_21.html#//appleref/doc/uid/AdminGuide-CH13-SW26

Thanks for all the replies. My question is whether there is any way to specify metadata WHEN adding content using iTunes U Web service. Specifying metadata AFTER adding content can be achieved by MergeTrack (weird naming) and it does work.
As for setting track level meta-data in the media file and then upload it, there're several reasons against that, among which are:
    1. Some track metadata are context-dependent. A video about buildings on Michigan Ave in Chicago can be track #2 in a history course and described as "historic view of the Magnificent Mile", but the same media can also be track #5 in a landscape design course and described as something like "contemporary architecture". Setting these metadata in the media file itself is not the preferred way to do it since it implies maintaining a version of the same media for any course/group it gets uploaded to.
    2. Setting metadata in a location separate from the media file helps track the metadata change and search for media without digging into the media itself.
    3. If MergeTrack "updates" metadata, there got to be some other method that "creates" metadata - that's what a well-designed API should look like. And setting metadata in the media file is not an equivalent to a "create metadata" method call. In rickwolf's term, that implicit AddTrack should actually be made explicit so the party uploading content can explicitly specify metadata instead of having iTunes U extract metadata from the media.
It is still not clear what "AddTrack" does exactly, maybe rickwolf is right - it's only relevant to tracks created through RSS.
So it seems to me there is no other way to specify metadata WHEN adding content using iTunes U Web service than setting metadata in the media file. To me it is more like a design flaw.

  • Why do Motion Tweens fail when tested?

I have created a motion tween in CS4 that works perfectly when scrubbing with the playhead. However, when testing, the motion tween fails yet the rest of the animation plays perfectly. Does anybody know of any issues that could cause this?

    Ned:
Thanks for sticking with me through this. Yes, I'm aware tweens are not new. It is the new way that Motion tweens are implemented in CS4 that I am talking about, not what are now known as classic tweens. Anyway, I figured it out and for the sake of the next Flasher that experiences this issue, I'd like to explain how it got solved. I have rarely developed a Flash project where I animated on the timeline. I always did my animation programatically and used only the first frame of the timeline to make everything happen. This meant that dynamically loading symbols and assets from the library required instantiating and loading these assets with actionscript and linking.
For example, if I had a movie clip named thisMC_mc in the library, I would export it to actionscript under the properties menu and give it a class name such as ThisMC. From there, in the document class I would tell Flash I was going to use it at some point by instantiating it at the top of the class like so:
    public var thismc:thisMC = new thisMC();
Once this was done it was in scope and I could load and manipulate the movieClip at any time using the name thismc.
So, why did my Motion tweens fail on this project. Well, there were times I would place a library symbol on the stage at authoring time and since it was already on the stage, I did not need to instantiate it as shown above. I just needed to make sure it had an instance name in the properties inspector. And because I did everything from the first frame of the timeline, the MovieClip remained in scope. With this project, I just thought that principle followed through to other frames on the timeline as well. If they were placed on any frame during authoring time I figured they were in scope of the document class.
Apparently, this is not the case. because the tweens would not function when testing. As soon as I started thinking in programatic animation terms, the first thing I did was to instantiate the tweened MovieClips in the document class as shown above. The tweens started working like a charm. This probably occurred because there are event listeners and code in the document class associated with the tweened MovieClips.
I can only assume this issue has to do with scope and that I missed it because I rarely use more than one frame for animation so I wasn't thinking about it correctly.
If anybody can shed more light on exactly what went on it would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I actually like the new way of doing motion tweens in CS4. It only took a little studying and it all made sense. They are actually easier to set up and I love the fact that you only need to work with one instance all the way through the tween and the tween is not broken up by a bunch of keyframes. I have found that most hardcore Flashers complain about something everytime a new version is released. Mostly just because they are used to the current version and now they are out of their comfort zone. CS4 is a major change but now that I've been working in it for about two months I don't want to go back to any earlier versions. So go ahead and upgrade, once you get use to it I think you'll love it.

  • Proxy exposed as a web service but cannot be reached

    Hello,
I've exposed a server proxy as a web service and it looks OK in WSADMIN and WSCONFIG, also a service is created in ICM. But when I test the service, the browser page that opens cannot be reached and if I try to send a message to the service, I get the error HTTP Error: Could not POST file.
    What might be the cause?
    Thanks,

I had an error in my implementation.. nothing serious.

  • Generation Error - when trying to publish a Java web service

    Hi All,
I keep getting the following Generation Error -- java.util.NoSuchElementException_ when I'm trying to create a Java Web Service using the jdeveloper wizard.
I have 2 entities and 2 stateless session beans acting as their facades. One entity has a One-One(FK) relationship with the other entity. I test out the entities and session beans using the test client and the OC4J embedded container and everything seems to work. When I try to generate a Java WebService from one of the entities I keep getting the "Generation Error". Could someone please provide me with some insight into why I'm facing this problem, because it seemed fine when I published J2EE web services previously and now this happens and I cant seem to publish web services anymore. Everytime I keep getting the same GenerationError. Thanks in advance.

Without going into any technical discussion about the code, my first question is what JDK version was used to create this which was imported into the form? Understand that Forms 10 runs on JDK 1.4.2, so if you used any newer JDK version, likely there will be problems.

  • Failed Calling A X.509 Certificate Secured Web Service From OSB

    Hi,
I have wsdl resource, business service and proxy service setup in OSB 11.1.1.6 on Linux. The business service will consume a X.509 certificate secured web service running on a remote server.
    Below is my approach:
The consumer of the proxy service of OSB signs its saop request header.
My OSB proxy service authenticates the signature and forward the request to business service.
The business service signs the outbound soap request header. (To do this I configured the keystore in Security Provider Configuration of my SOA_domain in Enterprise Manager. Also I applied Web Service Policy of Service Client type to the business service.)
This is not working yet. Not sure if my approach is correct or not?
    Thank you,
    Eric

I validated the keystore, all the certificates used and the value for keystore.sig.csf.key / value for keystore.recipient.alias. They are all as expected. Restarted the server. Still failed for OSB to invoke the remote secured web service, but worked if only use soapUI to invoke the same remote secured web service directly.
    The error message is:
General security error (WSSecurityEngine: No crypto property file supplied for decryption); nested exception is org.apache.ws.security.WSSecurityException: General security error (WSSecurityEngine: No crypto property file supplied for decryption)
In the soap request / reponse message shown in the OSB Test Console, there seems to be two signature sections in the header and encryption section although I tried not to encrypt the soap request. I am using Web Service Client Policy "calpers/wss11_x509_token_with_message_integrity_client_policy_osb" which was created based on "oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_client_policy". The difference between the two policies is my policy not to sign nor to encrypt entire body.
In the "Message Signing Setting" section, I unchecked the "Include Entire Body" and left the three default namespaces under the Header Elements.
In the "Message Encrypt Setting" section, I unchecked the "Include Entire Body" and also left the one default namespace under the Header Elements.
I don't know how to attach document here, so i add long saop message here.

  • Web Service Tester works perfectly but the Web service is not.

I have a web service developed in EDQ that works as expected when I check using Web Service tester.
However when the upstream server sends the request to this web service, the response it gets is not as expected. "
This difference is only for a particular rule.(if Street Address Line 1 is 'Holiday', then the Customer Status should become 'C')
All the other rules are working s expected.
What can this difference be due to?
    Thanks and Regards.
    Ravi

The only logical explanation is that the client sending the request is sending different data. Perhaps it may be something subtle such as trailing whitespace (with the process you have constructed not coping with this)?

  • Strange behaviour when passing many input parameters to web service

    Hello!!!
I developed a web service with 52 input parameters using tomcat+axis!
While testing it in my development enviroment everything was working fine
(LAN consisted of three windows 2000 server machines!!!)
When i deployed it in my customer enviroment (VPN with 200 isdn connections) i get a very strange error:
    AxisFault
    faultCode: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}HTTP
    faultSubcode:
    faultString: (0)null
    faultActor:
    faultNode:
    faultDetail:
    {}string: return code: 0
    (0)null
when i used tcptracer in order to understand what is going on,
I realised that the error occurs when the http request is more than 1350 bytes.
    Can someone explain this behaviour?
    thanks in advance!
    sarantos

    Hi Sarantos,
I think, there is nothing wrong in the axis engine nor the http request limits as you said. I tried the same passing a 60 kb String as an argument to an operation , getting the results perfectly.
So problem could be with the method capacity size of your implementation. (I think default it is 64kb)
    bye

  • Exposing RFC as Web Service in XI

    Hi,
I want to expose RFC of an external R/3 System as a Web Service in XI. I do not have much Idea about XI.
It will be great help If I can get some documentation on step by step tutorial of the same type of Scenario.
    Thanks
    Naresh

Technically it can be done though.
I have done it in Xi 3.0.  You create a synchronous interface in XI.  Generate the WSDL from the repository.  The calling systems consumes it using SOAP.  The destination system does not need to be WAS.  It can be 4.6C, or even non-Sap.
I have tested this for Asynch postings into 4.6C and it works fine so it should work for synch also however, XI has some problems with the bindings in the WSDL at this stage.  You may need to manipulate the WSDL generated in the repository to create SOAP bindings.  I understand the problem is being resolved in SP4....
If you do not know about WSDL bindings go to: http://www.w3schools.com/wsdl/default.asp
