Oracle HTTP Server Port     : 7777 -- appears by default.
Oracle HTTP Server DAD     : desrep -- my design repository.
This is on owb 10g & DB 10g. The Design repository and the HTTP server are on the same m/c. I have done the installation and config as said in the install and config guide and am able to see my runtime repository reports.

  • Invalid Oracle HTTP Server information

I am having problems with the Design Repository Report in Warehouse Builder Browser. When I try to logon I receive the message: Invalid Oracle HTTP Server information. This is the same database server that the client uses to logon to the repository. I can logon to the HTTP Server using a browser with the same host and port information. I set up the DAD with Mod plsql Configuration Menu using this information. What do I need to change?
    OWB Client 9.0.3.33.0
    OWB Repository 9.0.3.0.1

Did you already do this: Project menu -> Preferences -> Browser tab, set the HTTP Server port for the first option.
It's hard to make a mistake in setting the DAD, but just in case take a look at the instructions in the Hands-on Demo document, Prerequisites section, step 8. The Hands-on Demo is linked from Self-Service Education http://otn.oracle.com/products/warehouse/selfserv_edu/installation.html

  • Displaying a jpg on the browser using a simple http server.....

    Hi
I've written a simple server which responds by sending a jpg file .
BROWSER ---request---> SERVER ( reads a jpg file, converts to byte[] and writes to browser )
    ^
    |
    |
    <----response ----------
So I connect from the browser and the server sends a jpg and I'd to display that. Everything is thru sockets. There is no webserver as such.
The problem is, I'm getting the text fine, but instead of the picture, I get lots of characters...probably the browser is unable to interpret the jpg . How to I display the jpg ? Do I have to convert the characters in the server code before sending it ?
Anything to do with Base64 encoding ??
    Thanks !!

All answers to this question including mine disappeared ??????
In order to serve an image or any other type of data over the HTTP protocol you have to supply the correct HTTP response header with the data.
The stream of bytes written to the client should be structured like this:
A status code followed by several lines of key/value pairs with header information, a blank line and finally the bytes of the image.
All lines in the header should end with \r\n no matter what OS the server is running.
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Wed, 07 Nov 2001 18:37:47 GMT
    Server: MyServer/0.1
    Content-Type: image/jpeg
Content-Length: 4321The Content-Length field must have the length of the image data in bytes. The Content-Type field must be the correct mime type for the image data.
Read RFC 2068 if you want or need more information.

  • Firefox Sync custom server fails - invalid HTTPS certificate

    Windows XP SP3, Firefox 3.6.8.
Using a custom Sync server, the Weave minimal server written by Toby Elliot. Firefox Sync 1.4.4 extension is crapping out at the setup stage.
I've got a self-signed SSL certificate behind my web server, since it's for my personal use. I have the Sync extension on a couple of other Firefox installations, grandfathered through a few versions since Weave. Those extensions work and I can sync, no problem.
So the problem is not with my server itself, or with my username, or with my password. As I said, all three work fine with other Firefox installs.
This new setup process won't let me get past the "invalid HTTPS cert" error. Must I sign my cert with a certificate authority of my own, or will even that be marked as invalid?
    Any guidance would be appreciated.

This can be fixed by browsing to the site and accepting the cert first but on my HTC incredible the buttons are off the screen and I can't scroll to them.....MOZILLA Please help!
Thanks and keep up the good work,

  • Nessus report says: Apache HTTP Server httpOnly Cookie Information Disclosu

    Hi all,
Security area ran a Nessus script in the network and it found a known vulnerability over Oracle HTTP Server. Nessus gives a recomendation and I think is not the best recomendation because Oracle Application Server 10g R2 doesn't supports Apache 2.2.22 (only 1.3).
    The question is:
What other action plan can I execute in order to solve the vulnerability issue?
    This is the Nessus report:
Apache HTTP Server httpOnly Cookie Information Disclosure
    Synopsis:
The web server running on the remote host has an information disclosure vulnerability.
    Description:
The version of Apache HTTP Server running on the remote host has an information disclosure vulnerability. Sending a request with HTTP headers long enough to exceed the server limit causes the web server to respond with an HTTP 400. By default, the offending HTTP header and value are displayed on the 400 error page. When used in conjunction with other attacks (e.g., cross-site scripting), this could result in the compromise of httpOnly cookies.
    Risk factor:

    Hi,
the solution is to set the value for UseServerHeader to false.
This can be done from the VisualAdmin for the HTTP service of all servers + dispatcher.
    Thanks for the support

  • Invalid WSDL - Certificate not trusted - Exception while publishing WSDL in OSR from HTTPS Server

    Hi,
I am publishing a Web Service in OSR from an HTTPS Server. I am getting exception as
    Error message:
WSDLException: faultCode=INVALID_WSDL: java.io.IOException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: Server certificate ....... is not trusted!
To remove this exception I have done following steps
    a) Added Certificate from remote server in Identity Store of WebLogic Server using keytool utilitity
keytool -import -alias devCertificate -file c:/certificates/okdsoa.cer -truststore demoIdentityStore.jks
    b) Added Certificate from remote server in the trust store of weblogic server using keytool utility
keytool -import -alias devCertificate -file c:/certificates/okdsoa.cer -truststore demoTrust.jks
    This didnot help.
Then I imported certificate to OSR using PStoreTool command as
    PStoreTool.bat add -config C:/OSRHome/registry111/conf/clientconf.xml -certFile c:/certificates/okdsoa.cer
Bounced the servers but that also didnot help.
    Can you please suggest?
    Thanks,
    Parshant

I found the fix from Oracle Support Knowlededge Base
sslTool serverInfo --url https://HOST:9043 --certFile newcert.cer
PStoreTool located in REGISTRY_HOME/bin/PStoreTool add -config
    WEBLOGIC_HOME/user_projects/domains/[osr_domain_name]/servers/[osr_server_name]/tmp/_WL_user/registry/[unique id]/public/conf/pstore.xml -certFile newcert.cer
I was updating wrong file with the certificate. It had to be pstore.xml. This solved my issue.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Apex SSL from  HTTP server - err 29040

Have apex environment (originally 3.1.2 now 3.2) workiing fine under http server 10.1.3. regular http port 7777.
After going thru the ssl and wallet documentation steps to apply certificates supplied to me, and scouring all the blogs, I'm still failing under https 4443 with:
SSL call to NZ function nzos_Handshake failed with error 29040
The default oracle ewallet.p12 lets me in after first complaining about the certificates. I made a new wallet, with owm, and added in the trusted certs that are suppsoed to match our internal browsers. Thats when things go wrong.
I've tried, and of course bounced opmnctl with stopall, startall after changing each one:
    (1) in opmn.xml verified <ssl enabled="true"
    (2) auto-logon checked in the wallet with cwallet.sso,
    (3) left it off, regen'd wallet and set SSLWalletPassword to it's value,
    (4) tried and verified different wallet locations and the right settings in ssl.conf. (feel confident the ssl.conf settings work cause I can cause other errors by commenting out SSLWalletPassword in ssl.conf with auto-logon=off),
    (5) SSLVerifyClient set to none
    (6) in opmn.xml verified <data id="start-mode" value="ssl-enabled"/>
    (7) set LogLevel in httpd.conf to Debug (more output but nothing obviously usefull)
    (8) set SSLLogLevel in ssl.conf to debug (more output but nothing obviously usefull)
any ideas would be much appreciated. AND especially does anyone know what the default password is for that default ewallet.p12 ?
if it told me during install I must have missed it. first born for that cause maybe I can modify it and add in my certs ?

Srini, thanks so much for helping. Sorry I didn't reply right off hand. To be honest I couldn't find doc id 473047 in metalink and then I finally got hold of our Certificate group and have been busy with them and just now got things resolved. Thanks again for replying. Really appreciate it.
If anyone else stumbles across this in the future, after having installed just the http server and not knowing much about it, the default pwd to the default wallet is welcome. (be sure and make a copy of this ewallet.p12 in conf/ssl.wlt/default before playing with it). The invalid cipher clues of the 29040 msg were not the direct problem in my case. For me it ended up being incomplete wallet information as the root cause under 10.1.3.
At first we had been just inserting trusted certificates into the wallet thinking that should match our inhouse browser images. Instead the "Warning, this is a development" msg kept showing. Finally we went thru the steps outlined in the documentation, using owm xwindows (or orapki) to create a new wallet from scratch, add a user certificate request, save the wallet, then export the user cert req to a flat file. You can then send that to your internal security group (assuming you have one) or whoever your Cert Authority is. They then send you back a new certificate that should constitute your User Certificate. You must first load in your trusted certificates (usually a Root and Issuing type trusted certs to constitute your "chain"). Then you can do a Import User Cert under owm and load in the afiorementioned fiel recvd from you security group. Also note the ON= value on your request must equal your DNS name as in server.xyz.com Also, I was being sent .key files that I could never import in. They then sent me pem files that had the key info blended in from what I understand and those worked.
I was able to get variations of the 29040 error (290xx) by trying different values within the HTTPD.conf -> ssl.conf file for the various SSL variables. In the end I've ended up with the modified settings of
    SSLCipherSuite ALL
    SSLProxyCipherSuite ALL
    SSLVerifyClient none
    SSLProtocol ALL
    SSLProxyProtocol ALL
although I suspect other combinations would be fine as well.
The opmn/conf settings were set to the various values as seen in other postings and blogs but in the end did nto seem to be the issue for me. Other than modifying those <port local="6xxx" remote="6xxx" request="6xxx"/> to prevent the opmn logs from filling up fast. To do that I had to try different values that the ones found in some of the main google postings.

On the OHS side I have all the certificates needed so SSL is working properly. The weblogic environment is currently working fine with other webgates, but those are apache and we are trying to switch to OHS.
Can OHS use mod_proxy to connect to weblogic or do I need to use mod_wl_ohs?
Does anyone see anything wrong in my ssl.conf file in regards to the proxy section.
    Thanks in advance.

    In summary:
You need to create a new wallet with CSR (certificate signing req)
Send this to your certificate authority and get the signed server certificate.
Now import the signed server cert and the trusted root cert in to the wallet that you created newly.
Modify ssl.conf to point to the new wallet location.
To create wallet refer to : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25054_01/core.1111/e10105/wallets.htm#CHDGIJDC

  • Error starting HTTP Server in Oracle9iAS 9.0.2 Infrastructure

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle9iAS Infrastructure 9.0.2 on Windows 2000 Professional. Most of the components are working and I am also able to browse OEM at 1810 port.
The problem is with the HTTP server, it starts and after a while shutsdown automatically. I have tried both the methods to start HTTP Server:-
via windows start menu HTTP Server Startup link
via command: C:\Ora9iAS\dcm\bin\dcmctl start -ct ohs
In both the cases it fails, When using the command dcmctl start -ct ohs. The error code is ADMN-906025.
Can anyone tell me what could the problem be?
    Bharat

With the command dcmctl geterror 906025 you will see the contents of the error (without a number dcmctl geterror gives the last error). You seem to have a problem with opmn. Check the log files in the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs directory. The log file HTTP Server.1 (as it is called on linux) will probably contain more information as why the HTTP server fails to start.
    Regards,
    Andre

  • How can we debug Oracle Http Server on AIX.

Our requirement is to attach a debugger (dbx) to oracle http server on AIX.
For that purpose we need to start the OHS webserver service that is opmn in a single process mode the way we start Apache webserver by -X option.
Can anyone help how can we start OHS in single thread.

Hi,Welcome to the forum: please read the FAQ and forum sticky threads (if you haven't done so already), and ensure you've updated your profile with a real handle instead of "user9201760".
You'll get a faster, more effective response to your questions by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This would normally include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
    <li>Region/item type(s)
Thanks for having included most of the information that is relevent to your question.
I have installed Oracle Apex 4.1 on Oracle 10g database but I want to configure Oracle HTTP Server on another Server(Microsoft Windows 2008 R2). Here I have placed Apache Tomcat 6.0 version already. Can anyone please tell me how is it possible to install and configure Oracle HTTP Server on Windows 2008 along with Apache Tomcat? Why? Installing OHS and the DB on separate servers will incur additional licensing costs.
More common confugrations would be to use Apache as a reverse proxy to an OHS+DB server, or Tomcat+APEX Listener with a DB server and not using OHS at all. (Although I understand Tomcat is not an Oracle-supported platform for the APEX Listener. For any questions on this or other Listener-related topics use the {forum:id=858} forum.)

  • Do we need Oracle HTTP server to host Oracle Apex ?

We are completely new to this Oracle Apex.
Wanted to know the licensing part of it , before we get into it.
I guess Oracle Apex is free as it comes with the Oracle database license.
    1) Do we need some kind of HTTP server to host the Apex on the browser ?
    2) Does any HTTP server will work with Oracle Apex ?
    3) Any other free Oracle tool which we can use instead of licensing Oracle HTTP server for this Apex ?
Correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks in advance for the gurus out here.

Correct me if I am wrong.OHS is covered by the DB license if OHS is run on the same server. See Joel's post and the document he links to: +{message:id=9256804}+.
