I am very new to Forte ...

In the form editor, select the JMenuBar in your form, right click on it and you will see a menu item call Add which will display a sub-menu for things like JMenuItem and so on.
The reason why Forte prevents you from editing those portions of the source code is because Forte completely rewrites those portions automatically. Any changes you may have made outside of Forte will then be lost.

Spry Menu Bars, Templates and Current Page Indicators

First we write a function to initialse the page

The function compares the URL of the page with the link in the menubar and if they are both the same, it will add an 'activeMenuItem, class to the menuitem.
Next we nee a trigger to activate the function. This is done with a load listener as per
Spry.Utils.addLoadListener(InitPage);
Now we need to ensure that our active menuitem looks different, by assigning a couple of style rules as in the following. The !important needs to be there to override the JS.

Help with rollover menu bar on my Home page

I would like some help with my site

Please look at my menu bar on the home page.
Roll over the buttons on the menu of the home page and they come up with the wrong message when it is rolled over. I hope this makes sense.

The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.

Status Menus in the Menu Bar Behaving Chaotically

I have an annoying issue where the icons in my menu bar at the top right are staying highlighted (several at a time if I try moving through them) and their pull down menus can be difficult to reach.
Just filed it as Bug ID# 6595221 at Apple's Bug Reporter. Details follow:

Menu bar icons remain highlighted – several at a time – and using their menus becomes difficult as the system is unclear whether they're pulled down or not. I've included a couple of screenshots.
Steps to Reproduce:
Clicking on any menu bar item leaves persistent highlights, and appearing / disappearing pull down menus which are a fight to use.
Expected Results:
Ordinary functionality where a menu bar icon is only highlighted when you click on it and are using its pull down menu.
Regression:
This started happening after I installed 10.5.0 from my original retail disc and ran the 10.5.6 combo update. After installing my 3rd party software (specifically Adobe CS 3 Design Premium), the error suddenly manifested itself. I wiped my PowerBook and tried again: same result. May well have something to do with installing CS3. Click on any menu icons up there and it's chaos.
Notes:
This line keeps popping up in system.log in Console.

John, I see no reproduction of your problem on any of my four system, so based on what you've described I would conclude the problem was your upgrade from 10.5 to 10.5.6. I would presume the original system was in some way defective and/or you did not repair the HD and permissions prior to the upgrade. If I were you I'd consider the following:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

Adding sub-menus wrecks main menu bar display

I have just learned to create a Spry horizontal pull-down menu. I have dark gradient images for both the 'up' and 'down' states, and I've set my text attributes and everything works fine.
(I'm new, but trying hard.)
HOWEVER - I have 2 problems:
as soon as I add in sub-menus to a menu item, the gradient images fail to show on the main menu for that menu item only. I just get a white block, out of which you obviously can no longer read the white text. The gradients and other attributes immediately apply beautifully to the sub-menu items (even though I haven't even applied any attributes to them yet!), but they are lost from the main menu bar wherever I apply sub-menus.
ALSO - although the 'up' state gradient image works fine behind the menu item, the downstate does not show when I hover my mouse over it. I've checked that the 'up' and 'down' files are not identical, and I've ensured that they are both applied in the CSS.
When I remove the sub-menus - works fine. Add 'em back in, problem recurs. Applies to whichever menu item I apply the submenus to.
I have downloaded the latest version of Spry (no idea which version I already had) but can't see where to install it or how to run setup. Why are things never easy...?
I am using Dreameaver CS4 v10 and Chrome browser. Same thing happens in Firefox, IE and Safari - no difference.
Please forgive my newness. I have had a look at other similar forum posts but although people seemed to have linked issues, they were not the same.
Anyone any ideas? I am getting desperate. Been trying to fix it by myself all day.

Linux - Can't move menu or enable menu bar button (like Windows)

I have used Firefox 4.0 betas on both Windows and Linux. I notice that unlike Windows, Linux doesn't seem to have the ability to hide the menu under the button which says 'Firefox'.
I also cannot move the menu bar and place it on the navigation bar for example. I like to minimise on toolbars but because of the way this is designed, this does not seem possible on Linux. On 3.6.9 I use an add-on which consolidates all of the menu bar items onto one called menu, and then I add the navgation bar to this bar as well as buttons, and then I can remove one of the toolbars. With 4.0 beta however this is not possible if one wants to use tabs on top.
Can anyone confirm if the single menu button functionality as available on Windows will be coming to Linux? Given how many betas have been released I'm concerned time is running out for this feature.
I had previously found a support page which revealed that the Windows version has an extra toolbar which Linux does not have. I cannot find that link currently however.

There has been some progress on this. To implement the Firefox button on Linux, 3 separate patches to the code need to be added. The first has just been added and the developer who is working on this hopes to get the remaining 2 patches available over the weekend. Still no guarantees that it will make it but it does look hopeful.
There is a limited time frame for this to be implemented, beta 7 is planned to be the beta that is "feature complete", new features should not land after this. If the patches have not landed by beta 7 then Firefox 4 may ship without the Firefox button on Linux.

Having issues linking spry menu bar to my other pages

I am brand new to web development. I am currently using the trial of DW and I must say I love it. I am having issues with my spry menu bar though. I will click on a certain box in the menu bar and use the properties page at the bottom and insert a link to another one of my webpages that I have created. However when I test my webpage, it will not be linked to it. Instead it is linked to #, or my index page. Now my domain name is: thecampuscocktail.com. I have created two other pages "feedback.html" and "speedydrinks.html" and even when I enter those manually into my browser (i.e. "thecampuscocktail.com/feedback.html") it gives me a page not found error. So I may be doing something incorrectly with uploading my pages however I have used the "put" option with all of them and I have used the "sync site wide" option. I am also using a template though that shouldn't affect it. Being brand new I know very, very little about coding. But here is the code to my template:

How do I use my index spry menu bar on my other pages?

I'm trying to use the same bar for all of my pages as on the index page, but not all of the information transfers, just some of it. The font and placement, for instance, are different when I try to copy and paste all of the code. However, if I try to start fresh with a new menu bar, it assumes the coloring, and some of the sizing, of my index page bar.
Hopefully the attached files will be enough. My website (obviously a work in progress) is www.uniquehomedesigns.net.

And cut it from your code. Then open a new document, delete ALL code from it, pastee the above into this new fileand call it menu.inc.php.
Then
In place of where you removed the code, put this
<?php include('menu.inc.php');?>
And you now have an include file that can be put into any new page. If you change this file, it will be changed on all pages that have it.
DO NOT put the js or the css in the new file, leave it where it is. You will have to include these files in any new pages, but you should look into using a template for that.

Horizontal menu bar moves between different pages

I believe, the vertical scroll bar is causing the objects to move.
To resolve this, you may add a scroll bar to all the pages. To achieve the same:
From the File menu in Muse, select Site Properties. Set the visibility for the Vertical Browser Scroll bars, to Always.

Removing tool bar and menu bar to the navigated page through ADF

Hi,
Through facesconfig iam navigating to the other page, some thing like my method returns a striing "success" in faceconfig i made to navigate to page2.jsp if it receives success,
My current requirement is to remove the tool bar as well as manu bar from the navigated page i.e. page2.jsp, i could n't able o configure that, can any one please help me on this.

Yeah exactly i am talking about the browser window, let me explain you once more,
the bellow iam calling from first.jsp

in faces config.xml i have used

right now what i need is when the page traverses to the second window i.e second.jsp i shudn't see menu bar and tool bar in my browser window.

More menu bar "helpers" (like the volume contol)?

I forget the correct name for the "helpers" in the menu bar (on the right side, near the spotlight part), but I remember hearing about there being more of them in some system folder that I could add, but I can't remember where that is now.
Does anyone know what folder they're in (or if I'm incorrect)?
Are there any 3rd party ones that you've found useful?

I've found the MenuMeters useful to me to monitor usage of cpu, memory, IO and network traffic of my mac mini.
In addition, I am using TimeStat to replace the clock display functionality provided by os x since this application allows me the change date time format.
