Desktop Resolution with SLI (GTX 560 Ti)
Yesterday I installed my second MSI GTX 560 Ti and enabled SLI. Now, I have three monitors that are 1080p (native to 1920x1080) in which I wanted to enable surround. It lets me enable the feature but it seems to default to 5040x1050 instead of 5760x1080. I tried to manually add a new resolution under 'Customize' but it fails. Any suggestions?

Huge problem with MSI GTX 560 ti oc TF2
So here it goes, I did not use the pc for about 5 months (all this time was unplugged from power) and today when I power it on bios shows up with lots of white strips and with a weird resolution, on windows the same, only 800x600 with white stripes and on Device Manager my card is showing code 43. The nvidia control panel says that I don`t have an gpu nvidia installed.
The last time the pc was used it was ok. I have tried another GPU and my pc is good, so the problem is my 560 ti.
PC specs : CPU i5 2500k
MB Asus P8P67 PRO
PS Xilence XP700 W.
If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

Trouble with SLI GTX 680's on S30
hey guys, im having a VERY frusturating time getting my GTX 680's to SLI on my S30, here are my Specs:
Intel Xenon CPU E5-1603 - @ 2.80GHz
64 - Bit Windows 7 OS
2 - Nvidia GeForce GTX 680's (Both are recongized on device manager and the Nvidia control panel)
S30 Motherboard
8 Gb of physical ram
Flexible SLI Cable from EVGA
1000W power supply
Current Version is: 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
My current Bios is: A0KT39AUS, 10/08/2012
SMBIOS Version: 2.7
my current Nvidia Driver is: 310.70
My current state of mind: Confussed
from what i've read the S20 systems could only SLI Quadro cards and never had the capability for other cards. but for S30's theres no mention of my cards not being compatible.
the issue as far as i know is the computer can't see the SLI cable (i have tried 3 seperate cables with no succes, though all from EVGA...)
also on a somewhat weird note for some reason my bottom video card is recognized as the top card.... i was always told the card installed on the first PCIe 3.0 X16 lane was recognized first, might just be nothing though thought i should mention it.
if anyone has any ideas on what i should try im all ears.
i can get my three screens to go surround on one card which is fine and dandy my but temps are getting alittle too high for comfort, (not to mention i spent the 500$ on the second card that so far is nothing more than a paper weight)

Go to Solution.you'll be on the bleeding edge trying to power a GTX 690. that card has a maximum power of 300W and uses dual 8-pin PCIe power connections. both 6-pin PCIe drops on your S30 PSU would need to be adapted from 6-pin male to 8-pin female. even then, you might exceed per-rail output on one or both drops. everything depends on how much amperage each 8-pin connection uses. they aren't always split evenly.
assuming the x16 card power draws 60~75W, that leaves around 110~120W per each 8-pin. adapting each of the S30's PSU 6-pin sockets into 8-pin should leave enough headway provided one of the 690's 8-pin sides doesn't exceed 150W. i don't have access to the GTX 690 design specs to know for sure.
since we've not tested it, please understand that there's no guarantee that a GTX 690 will work for you under maximum load. it should work but you're on your own for testing and support. -
GTX 560 unable to render effects preview in CS6?
I'm using a GTX 560 with the "hack" to allow for GPU acceleration in CS6, and it generally works fine. But every time I try to "render effects in to out", I get an error message. I tried rendering with GPU acceleration disabled, and it works fine. So I'm guessing the GTX 560 is truly unsupported in this build of Premiere. Anyone else with a GTX 560 able to confirm this behavior?

Fixing temps issues GTX 560 TI HAWK
1) make a good air flow for the VGA, putting air from the ground, ejecting up the hot air, put a fan in the middle of the card( case )
2) download AFTERBURNER 2.1.0, NOT THE BETA
and set this values
1025 CORE TEMP
880 clock speed
2100 ram speed
check with AIDA 64 the GPU AMBIENT ( RAM TEMP OF THE CARD ) and check the voltages.
please, if somebody have this problem with the GTX 560 TI HAWK, try do this, in my computer i found a bug with the voltages in the beta afterburner
5 weeks ago i buy this card, and my problem with this card is the temp, so changin this values, i found a stable configuration to my card, now iam having a max temp of 68º with 20 city ambient temp, and 71º ( average 69) with 30º of city ambient.
please, only use afterburner 2.1.0, if u use the beta, check the voltage value in the AIDA64 if is the same of default clock, the beta is working bad

if u have a two monitors the VGA gonna work with high clock, and without power saving mode, if u use one monitor, u gonna see a temps of 28/32º

I'm having problems with my GTX 560 Ti that are a bit odd. Currently, I have two displays running from it (Samsung BX2450 and LG W2453V).

If I leave the computer for an extended period of time and move the mouse to wake it I hear the windows chime as if something was unplugged. At this point, only my primary display wakes up. If I go to the Device Manager it only shows one item under 'Monitors', but if I click on Action->Scan for hardware changes it'll detect and turn on the second display. This happens quick frequently.
Also, I'm modified the brightness and contrasts from the NVIDIA Control Panel settings page and I'll notice once in a while that the displays aren't right so if I go there, slightly move the bar for those settings back and forth (keeping the same settings) it'll enable them again. Almost like it reset to default though they are still on the same values I've left. Any ideas?
This was happening prior to me formatting, and it's the same thing since I've started back at zero. I'm using the 266.66 drivers. Thanks!Hey Svet, unfortunately that won't help since the problem relates to using both displays. In other words, the displays are working fine and I can get them to work again by simply 'scanning for hardware changes' in Device Manager meaning it seems like the video card "forgets" the display exists and it easily turns on and works once it's detected again via that trick.
I've found a temporary solution though, I changed the "Turn off the display" in the Power Options to 'Never'. So far this morning it's working OK and I'll keep an eye on it. I just have to make sure I don't forget to turn off the monitors manually in this case. Anyway, thought I'd give a heads up. Thanks! -
Problem with 3 monitors Intel HD Graphics and GeForce GTX 560
I would like to attach 3 monitors to my box -- 1 to integrated Intel card and 2 to discreet Nvidia. I've tried different configs but I failed to make monitors connected to different cards to work at the same time. I have system with stock kernel, latest updates and the following configuration:

I just built this unit last night and I have a issue that is beyond me....Normally I just throw them together and throw to cards in download all the drivers and turn on sli.......
But with this one the driver keeps crashing and I have no idea what it is--everything is brand new....

It only does this in sli......Right now I have only one card in and i took the other card out...so far no issues......I just can not figure it out..
I tried a new sli brindge and that did not work....Than I switched power supply to 850 from a 750 and that did not work....each 6 pin has it own power rail..nothing brindged on the cable.....Is there a setting In bios I am missing............

I know this is besides the point...But you learn something new everyday.....so far no crash....Only difference---I have 2 sticks of ram and not 4....I really would like to know more about this. as of right now. I want to just leave the 2 sticks and make 100% sure the cards are not the issue. You would figure with this set up...I should not have any issues like that what so ever......so why would the i7 3770k have issue like this? Is it know to have problems like that? I even spent the extra cash on this build....now I am second guessing my choice. should have stuck with the z77a-gd55 or lower. So you think the cpu was having issue with the IMC and bandwidth...Talk about weird....I will keep testing like it is right now and than tmr-try uping the voltage & I/O.....I need to make 100% sure its not my cards...
I think you mis-understood (as i wasn't clear)
Set the voltage to 1.65 & 1.1 and install all 4 sticks and re-test.
I wasn't saying the cpu was broken or anything like that. What I was getting at was that the Integrated Memory Controller on dual channel machines sometime have a bit of trouble with all of the band width when hooked up to quad channel. Can also be cause by the memory itself as Froggy was saying:

If this is the case, you can reset the dramv and I/o voltage to "Auto".
Perhaps even enable the XMP profile of the ram. -
Can't get GeForce GTX 560 Ti card CUDA to work with new Premiere Pro CC 2014 version
In the past I've been able to get CUDA on my GeForce GTX 560 Ti card to work with Mercury Playback engine by adding "GeForce GTX 560 Ti" to the cuda_supported_cards.txt file. But with the new CC 2014 version of Premiere, that file isn't in the Premiere Pro directory anymore. Is there a way to get my GTX 560 Ti to be listed as a CUDA-supported card with CC 2014?
Okay, I figured it out. I installed the latest graphics driver and then opened the NVIDIA control panel. In there I selected "Manage 3D settings" and went to the "program settings" tab. I selected Adobe Premiere (adobe premiere pro.exe) from the list and under the "CUDA - GPUs" feature, I changed it to "Use these GPUs" and selected my GTX 560 Ti (which was the only one listed).
After doing that, I opened Premiere Pro CC 2014 and selected "Project Settings - General" and was then able to choose "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration" under Renderer (which had previously been unavailable).
Hopefully this will help someone else if they encounter the same problem. -
I have an imac 27 inch O SX 10.6.8. using iphoto 11 Version 9.1.5. I have scanned some photos at very high resolution with each photo being about 45MB. They're saved to desktop. How can I reduce the size of the scanned photo's they are crashing iphoto.
What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

A 42A PSU is suggested. Thus a Corsair TX650 will suffice but to leave you with additional overhead you could opt for a Corsair TX750. The Corsair PSUs have single 12V rails which are recommended and have an above average reliability and build quality. -

I have been having problems (Blue lines/dots/squares, then system instability, driver crashes, and system crashes) since i built this computer and have finally narrowed the issue down to one of the 560's.
One works, one causes the above issues.
I've followed instructions on this forum and installed newest drivers using driver sweep ect.
When i install the working one as primary and the faulty one next to it, everything is fine until i enable SLI, then the above problems start.
If i remove the working one and install only the faulty one, i can barely get into windows.
Any suggestions? How can i RMA it?

keep the unstable vga only installed in the PC until make it stable [eventually] before install the second one.

Im having a problem with my Msi GTX 560 Twin Frozr II video card.
I can't make it work with my monitor, all I get is "No signal detected"
I know the monitor is fine, because I used it as it worked all good when I plugged it into
my laptop. It's a BenQ G2222HDL monitor btw. It has one VGA (D-sub) and one Dvi-D input.
So i've tried all types of cables (VGA, Dvi-D and even Hdmi cables), and
still, can't get no signal. What can I possibly do to make things work?
Also, my computer acts a bit wierd when it's starting up. Usually, I would turn it on, then it would turn itself off really quick. Then I turn it on again,
and it goes just fine and runs smoothly. After I changed the position of some RAM modules
and such, it changed. Now when I turn it on, the fans spin for 1 and there's just a tiny bit of noise until
it turns itself off. Then I turn it on again, and it goes just fine with all fans and stuff spinning.

Haven't got a chance to install os, but will install Windows 7 64Bit.
The monitor is a BenQ 21,5" LED G2222HDL (1920 x 1080, 5000000:1, 5ms, VGA/DVI-D)
More background info; I build the computer myself. Everything went mostly fine, except for that I had to spend quite a long time to get everything right.
I started the machine, and it all went just fine (except for rebooting and then running smoothly, as it has done ever since). I did the MemOK! test and everything seemed to be fine. But when using the VGA cable that came with the monitor, I couldn't get any signal detected (I used a VGA to DVI adapter to plug the VGA cable into the Msi 560 TI videocard). I used 2 different adapters, but nothing happened. I tried with a HDMI cable, just to test, and that did not work either. Then, I figured out I should order a DVI-D cable.
So I ordered the cable, and went on to plug it into my monitor and my video card, no adapters needed. Still, no signal at all! Tried a different monitor to check if it was the monitor's fault. Nope, still no signal. Frustrated, I used the VGA cable again and tried to plug the monitor into the laptop, which worked just fine. A clear, bright image appeared. But not with my desktop computer with the Msi GTX 560 Twin Frozr II. Nothing works when I plug in the cables etc. No signal at all, although the computer itself seems to run just fine with fans spinning up and the different components making noise etc. Thus, I figured out there probably was something wrong with my Msi Geforce GTX 560 TI Twin Frozr II. Now I dont really know what to do.
Does anyone have an answer/advice/possible solution to my problem? I'm getting a tad frustrated now, seeing as I bought this computer 2 weeks ago and still haven't got to use it yet. -
Should I get an MSI GTX 560 Ti 448 Twin Frozr III?
I'm thinking of upgrading my graphics card and obviously I'm looking to get one that'll go well together with Premiere (CS 5.5). For now, I've set my sights on the MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 Cores Twin Frozr III 1280 MB. I'm especially attracted to this card, as from my research it should be particularly quiet in desktop use, which is essential to me. Would this be a good choice, or should I be looking at GTX 570 for instance, or a card with more memory?

I appreciate the effective and quiet cooling provided by MSI's non-reference designs. I don't have the exact card you mention, but have a system with a MSI GTX 460 Hawk (twin fans, similar to the Frozr design) and it performs WAY quieter than the GTX 260 reference card I had prior to that. I would not be worried at all regarding noise and cooling with 120mm case fans. When comparing how much air 120mm fans can move to clear video card (and CPU) heat from your case vs. the reference GTX cards pushing air through a VERY tiny space, you can expect quieter and more effective cooling with the Frozer. The only possible caveat that I can think of with the Frozr is that you need at lease 1/2" of space in front of both fans so that air can easily enter the fans. If you have a motherboard / PCIe situation where you need to put a card immediately next to the Frozr, then you should go with a reference design; I suspect that gamers wanting 2, 3, or even 4 video cards running in SLI has a lot to do with why the various "big fan" designs are not more common in the market.
Additional to the cooling subject being discussed so far, there is another Newegg listed GTX 560Ti listed with less cores but 2GB of video RAM. Depending on if you ever edit anything with large frame needs such as large photos in video slide shows or RED 4k, etc., possibly the larger video buffer would be more advantageous to you system than the one you mention above that has a slightly higher core count.

I have a brand new custom built PC with two MSI 560 TI Hawk cards in SLI and I have a problem with playing games on this system. I've tried Portal 2, Far Cry 2, Two Worlds 2 and The Witcher 2. All games seem unstable with comparable problems:
Random lock-ups for 10-20 seconds with audio looping
Random small jitters, frame drops and stutters, including audio stutters
Sometimes my whole system freezes so I have to push the reset button
Artifacts
Flickering parts of the horizon, sky or ground in the game
Sometimes the game runs fine for a few minutes and then the problems start happening, sometimes they are there from the beginning.
I tried to eliminate possible causes one by one to narrow out the actual problem. Even disabling SLI and running on a single card doesn't help.
Here are the things I tried:
Monitor GPU temperatures with GPU-Z: didn't show anything unusual, around 35 degrees idle to 65-70 degrees stressed
Disable SLI: didn't fix the problem
Download MSI drivers v266.44 (older version than current NVidia drivers): didn't fix it and I couldn't find the SLI option in these drivers so i switched back to v280.26
Check driver and firmware version with MSI Live Update 5: everything seemed to be up to date
Remove graphics cards: cleaning the connections and re-installing, didn't fix it
Stress the cards with FurMark: no issues detected and temperatures seemed normal (70 degrees stressed)
Lower the stock clock speed (950 Mhz) to the standard non-overclocked speed (822 Mhz): this seemed to help at first and the problems didn't occur for a while. But while i'm testing right now Portal 2 froze and stuttered a few times again. Although it seems like it happens less often. So this might be a clue to my problem. Anyway I didn't pay extra money for these overclocked cards to underclock them back to standard so I would like to make the cards run on stock settings (950 Mhz).

TandpastatesterWell I've tried some more things but it's all still very weird and not helping at all I will explain my findings in the order i tested the cards this time, after every card-switch i did a clean re-install of the VGA drivers:
Card-2
I've ran the OCCT test for one hour on card-2, i got zero errors and temperature never went above 76 degrees with a fan speed around 68%. After this i tried testing some games again and I found out there were still problems regardless of me saying that card-2 did fine before. In Portal 2 I was leaving the game on for a while and after a few minutes it froze with audio looping. I found out that when I use ctrl+alt+del to go to the task manager and then go back to the game it recovered and I could continue playing (weird??!). The same thing happened with The Witcher 2, freezing with audio loop and going to task manager and back let me continue playing. This happened every few minutes.
Card-1
Now it was time to try card-1 again. This time this card didn't seem to have the frequency problems I mentioned before but the problems didn't go away. Portal 2 let the game freeze within a minute, and I could use the same strategy (task manager) to continue, but this time after a few seconds it would freeze again and again. The same happened with The Witcher 2. Then I tried Far Cry 2 and this game had the same flickering problems as with card-2 but a lot worse... it was almost everywhere. Even sometimes the flickering had a checkerboard kind of shape. Now I ran the OCCT test with this card and there were no problems. Another strange thing was that when I was looking at the graph after the test, the temperature was much lower (65 degrees) and the graph line of the framerate was very straight (stable) along the test. This was different than with card 2 where the framerate and temp were higher and not so stable.
After all it appears i have comparable problems with both cards, only with card-1 they are much worse.
