Details on first page

There might be a solution but I can't find it. Any help/suggesion will be appreciated.
I want simple report which show % of sale of one item by each month (12 month) for all my 6 regions. Our management team would like to see all regions sales by month on first page with line chart of total sales in each month. In following pages they would like to see each region sale on line chart and one page for each region. May be below example would clear the picture.

I think your best solution is to do it the "normal" way and trick out the page numbering.   Put that all regions chart in the report footer and print "page 1" on it and tell the regular report to start at page 2.
Your other option is to to the All regions report in the eEport footer, then do the entire main report in a subreport.

    Please help me about Memo field in SubReport in CrystalReportXI.     in subreport in format for the memo field uncheck keep object together.
    You can not force group footers to repeat on each page.
    I have not tried this but you might be able to capture the data you want to show in SR page footer and display in main report page footer, using shared variables.

    I am printing a check and its invoice details(Item details) also in the same page.How it look means first page it consists of check part and document line items.  and second page check details are there.  But in case of these item details if it has more than 10 items(invoice details)  it should print on second page along with check details.where i have to write the code for it.whether in main widow or else where.please mention .

             Write the if condition for a counter to be greater than 10...then it should go
             to new page...
             Place the main window in the next page....along the check details...
             So, now when the item details are more than 10 then start in the new page
             main window and check details will also print in the second page...

  • 12.1.3 BI Publisher report not displaying the detail section on first page

    Hi,
    As part of our R12.1.3 upgrade, I designed a Purchase Report as a RTF template.
    Header and footer sections generate fine, but for some reason the detail (text body of the RTF template) does not display on the first page but starts on the second page (this is a PO with many lines). I am using MS Word table to display the detail section.
    Is there something I can check?

    You can't all apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchase/download it.

  • First page to have 10 detail records, Second page to have 10

    Hi, I would like to set up a page break in a repeating frame that only fires on the first page. I want it to page break after the first 10 records on the first page only, I do not want to set the max recs per page to 10. If you need to know why I'm doing this, the first 10 records are the most important to the report and deserve their own page. I have tried the 'hidden object/line' trick on this forum and set a format trigger on that object (if currow=10 then true), but I can only get it to break on the 10th record and then it creates a record for the hidden line as well. Anybody ever done this before in a repeating frame with success? I either don't have the right combo of breaking setting for this object or maybe I need another frame inside the repeating frame...but I'm hoping there is just a better way in general.

    i think the best way is to create a group. group the first 10 records and the others as another group. Just make sure the 10records will be printed first. This way reports will handle it naturally.

  • How do I display text only in the first page inXML Publisher

    I've been reading so much, on the last two days, on this issue at this forum but I didn't get an answer. My problem is: In an invoices report some text and fields from the invoice header, (such as payment terms, bank details etc.), should be printed only in the first page of the invoice, (If the invoice has more than one page). These elements are not in the document header/footer but in the document body. That's why I think the different fist page of MS Word will not work. I tried also <? start@first-page:body ?>, with no success. Any idea, someone?

  • How to show the first page and then rest will be created in background

    Dear Friends,
    I am suffering from some seriouse issue of slow opening of report....
    I am using vs2005 and asp.net 2.0 and crXI R2 sp4,
    using oledb for getting data from ms sql server 2005.
    Now my one report called accounts ledger
    when i execute the report query it takes 1.03 mins for 515000 records..no issue with it ,
    when i execute the report from report desginer for 515000 records its taking 26 mins . It is generating all
    32000 pages.
    Now same report i run from my web based erp application it takes 30mins to execute 32000 pages now
    this is too much time it is taking and now our client is fedup of ussss..
    So is there any way that we can show First page at the earliest and rest of the pages willl be getting created in background? is it possible ?
    We have to give them the solution as sson as possible...
    can anyone suggest the diff ways to get out of this problem .......

    Here are a few points related to performance issue. These might be helpful.
    The performance of a report is related to:
    External factors:
    1. The amount of time the database server takes to process the SQL query.
    ( Crystal Reports send the SQL query to the database, the database process it, and returns the data set to Crystal Reports. )
    2. Network traffics.
    3. Local computer processor speed.
    ( When Crystal Reports receives the data set, it generates a temp file to further filter the data when necessary, as well as to group, sort, process formulas, ... )
    4. The number of records returned
    ( If a SQL query returns a large number of records, it will take longer to format and display than if was returning a smaller data set.)
    Report design:
    1. Where is the Record Selection evaluated?
    Ensure your Record Selection Formula can be translated in SQL, so the data can be filter down on the server, otherwise the filtering will be done in a temp file on the local machine which will be much slower.
    They have many functions that cannot be translated in SQL because they may not have a standard SQL for it.
    For example, control structure like IF THEN ELSE cannot be translated into SQL. It will always be evaluated
    in Crystal Reports. But if you use an IF THEN ELSE on a parameter, it will convert the result of the condition to
    SQL, but as soon as uses database fileds in the conditions it will not be translated in SQL.
    2. How many subreports the report contains and in section section they are located.
    Minimise the number of subreports used, or avoid using subreports if possible because
    subreports are reports within a report, and if you have a subreport in a details section, and the report returns 100
    records, the subreport will be evaluated 100 times, so it will query the database 100 times. It is often the biggest
    factor why a report takes a long time to preview.
    3. How many records will be returned to the report.
    Large number of records will slow down the preview of the reports. Ensure you only returns the necessary data on the report, by creating a Record Selection Formula, or basing your report off a Stored Procedure, or a Command Object that only returns the desired data set.
    4. Do you use the special field "Page N of M", or "TotalPageCount"
    When the special field "Page N of M" or "TotalPageCount" is used on a report, it will have to generate each page
    of the report before it displays the first page, therfore it will take more time to display the first page of the report.
    If you want to improve the speed of a report, remove the special field "Page N of M" or "Total Page Count" or formula that uses the function "TotalPageCount". If those aren't use when you view a report it only format the page requested. It won't format the whole report.
    5. Link tables on indexed fields whenever possible.
    6. Remove unused tables, unused formulas, unused running totals from the report.
    7. Suppress unnecessary sections.
    8. For summaries, use conditional formulas instead of running totals when possible.
    9. Whenever possible, limit records through selection, not suppression.
    10. Use SQL expressions to convert fields to be used in record selection instead of using formula functions.
    For example, if you need to concatenate 2 fields together, instead of doing it in a formula, you can create a SQL Expression Field. It will concatenate the fields on the database server, instead of doing in Crystal Reports.
    SQL Expression Fields are added to the SELECT clause of the SQL Query send to the database.
    11. Using one command as the datasource can be faster if you returns only the desired data set. It can be faster if the SQL query written only return the desired data.
    12. Perform grouping on server
    This is only relevant if you only need to return the summary to your report but not the details. It will be faster as less data will be returned to the reports.

  • I need a section to display at the bottom of the first page of my report

    My report displays a number of records, but at the bottom of the first page of the report, I need a section (a remittance slip) that would only appear at the bottom of the first page.
    I've tried using a page footer with conditional suppression.  This is fine for the first page, but in subsequent pages, the footer space is reserved, so the records in my details section only go 2/3's of the page.  "Reserve minimum page footer" seems pretty useless.
    I've looked into using a details section that uses "Print at bottom of page".  But since my report contains groupings, this messes up my report structure and leaves a lot of extra space as well.
    I can't guarantee that a group footer section will always be on the first page, since it is found at the end of each group.
    Any suggestions?  Anything I'm missing?

    i would use the method that Abhilash suggested.

    if you
    1) create a new formula for every section that counts the height of the section...
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar lines:= lines + .2 
    //use the above for a details section that is .2 inches in height
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar lines:= lines + 2.2
    //use the above for a group header section that is 2.2 inches in height
    2) do the above for every section (yes it's painful but it works) and you'll see how the sections add to the running total
    3) create a new details section that is conditionally suppressed if the page is not equal to 1 and if the running total count is not within a certain height range
    4) make this new details section the height that you want the remittance slip and also have a New Page After forced for the section conditional on it being page 1
    the above takes a bit of finicky work but if it's worth getting rid of the blank space...

  • Printing of MAIN window details on different pages

    Hello,
    I have creates a smart form with 2 pages (invoice & packing details) containing MAIN window in each page. Also created secondary windows for respective pages with changed data. There is one interface table. When I print this form all the details are getting printed correctly on both the pages except MAIN window details on 2nd page (i.e. packing details). On 1st page MAIN window is getting printed correctly but on 2nd page it doesn't. I try to put break point on MAIN window in 2nd page both it doesn't get triggered. Can some one help me to know the reason.

    A small writing mistake in my earlier reply.
    Hi,
    I believe you have two pages ( FIRST page layout is for Invoice details ).
    If the first page is spilled over to second page then you have problems with the packing details which is to be in the second page.
    In that case design another page as NEXT page same as that of the FIRST page and for the FIRST page you mention the subsequent page as NEXT.
    Then use a command in the NEXT page and mention Goto--> SECOND page for the layout of packing details with proper condition.
    And display the packing details under the command.

  • New details on same page won't insert

    I am not able to get a master-detail-on-same-page to work properly.
    It is created with a wizard.
    After adding the first row and entering data, the row is lost when clicking Apply Changes of the master.
    The row is not inserted in the database.
    When I first add a second row without entering data, the first row is inserted when clicking Apply Changes of the master.
    Also when adding the second row, an extra Apply Changes button appears for the details.
    I am using theme '14. Modern' in APEX 3.0.1 on 10g XE.

    Hi again,
    The same problem can be seen when following the Advanced Tutorial topic 'How to Create a Master Detail PDF Report'.
    After following the instructions you get a report with master detail form.
    When all detail rows are deleted, the Apply Changes button of the details table disappears.
    You now can add a fill in a new row. However the Apply Changes button won't save your new detail row. Though adding a next row without entering data will save the first row, and the Apply Changes button reappears.
    So, after all the job is done. However it is not the way of working we will instruct end users.
    Is their a way to get the Apply Changes reappear just after adding the first row?

  • Blank first page and chart printing on the second page

    I have a subreport in my report footer that displays a chart.  The detail section is suppressed in the main report.  For some reason the chart displays on the second page of the report and the first page is blank except for the report header and page footer.  In the section expert the 'new page after' box is checked and grayed out so I can't remove the check to see if that solves the problem.  I've never been particularly skilled in regards to reporting and in addition it's been quite a few months since I've even worked on a report.  I'm using Crystal XI. Can anyone provide suggestions on where I might look to solve this problem.

    i've copied the program RFFOUS_C and form F110_prenum_chk as  'Z"
    My requirement is given below,
    Bottom of the bond sheet has cheque and top of the page has remittence details(line item, per page has 20 line item)
    If the remittence details is exceeds in the first page then it goes to the second page(now its working fine)
    if the user gives the bulk cheque printing then all the first page should print under one spool request and all the second page should print another one spool request.
    Is it possible in ZRFFOUS_C program. if it is possible where we can change the logic.

    Sure it is possible. If the title, prefix and suffix and suffix2 are same, printouts go to the same spool.
    The rest is just a bit of thinking and clever usage of START_FORM and END_FORM.

  • Invoice Footer printing on every page of invoice instead of first page only

    Hi,
    I am working on an AR invoice report. I have a RTF template (template is 1 page only) and the output is PDF. The invoice has invoice header ( bill to , pay to ) and invoice line details. On the bottom of the first page of every invoice , I need to show the "customer address" and other details such as "total amt , customer no etc".. If the invoice line details overflow , only that information should be printed on the next page..
    Right now , I have put the portion which needs to be displayed only on the first page in the "footer" section of the RTF. Due to footer , it gets repeated on every page of invoice..
    I tried to get the current page number(<fo:page-number>) and compare it to 1 , but somehow its giving me syntax eorror...
    Can someone please provide me directions on how to do this.. I can send the template and XML data if needed...
