Detecting if the Air App is already running when clicking on start shortcut

I have a question . Is it possible when starting up an air application to get info if this Application is already opened ? And if it is posssible how can I send notification or any kind of invocation to that opened application about that the user tried to start up the application . In my scenario I have got the Application that will run most time in minimized mode ,so it will happen that the user ,after some time , will not pay attention that the Application is already opend and will try to start it again . I want that when he attempts to do so the minimized Application will reopen .
Any Advice will be very appreciated !!!!

AIR app can register for Invoke event. This event is dispatched when the app is started initially . Also, when you try to start an already running app, the running app would get an invoke event, indicating that the app was tried to be started again. You can use this to achive the functionality you desire.

I am still seeing the option Image Capture, like shown in the screenshot that Rysz posted. But it is another example of the hide-and-seek Apple likes to play with us.
The option has to be set for each device individually. With the device connected to USB, you have to click the tiny disclosure triangle in the lower left corner of the sidebar to reveal the option.
I was perfectly happy with the program I paid for (Aperture), and now to maintain the functionality I have to pay for another application (LightRoom) to get the functionality that I paid for in Aperture.
Aperture 3.6 is working well with Yosemite. I will use it, as long as I have a Mac, that will run Yosemite or a compatible system.
Have you looked at Capture One? It looks much more similar to Aperture than Lightroom.

The air app cannot detect the new added camera

i made a desktop air-app. the problem is when i unpluged my usb camera and start the air app . the app detect the existed cameras with Camera.names.length = 2; and then i pluged another usb camera and use the Camera.names.length to detect the new camera, but the result is still 2 , not the 2 existed camera with the new added one which the total is 3. then i close the air-app and start it again ,this time the camera.names.length is 3. why ? the air-app just cannot detect the new added camera? the only way the air-app can detect the new added camera is restart the app?

Air ow flash player for that matter won't detect camera added at runtime. It will detect if you remove the camera while you were capturing images from the camera. You can try to scan for camera suing a timer and see if it detects it then.
There is also a not so documented flash.media.scanHardware() method, which should force a hardware scan. I did not used it yet so can't vouch for it.

Hi, In Mac Formats THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO MOUNTAIN LION, in ‘Master iTunes 11’, it suggested that if you wanted to rip a cd, you can import audio tracks from your hard drive using File - Add to library…. or rip music from your CD’s. Does this mean that the rip App is already installed, or does it mean I need to purchase a rip App?

What I get to move over to my MacBook Air are .cda tracks, are they convertable for ripping?
My Mac seems to go silent/invisable?

When I open Firefox I get the message "Firefox is already running but not responding . . .

I am using Firefox 3.6.9 with Windows XP SP3. Almost every time I try to open Firefox I get the message:
"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."
I then must open Task Manager and find Firefox and stop the process.
I run Firefox on 4 Windows machines and this is the only machine that I have this problem on.
I have looked at the Mozilla Firefox KB and have tried to check on the items that could be causing the problem. I have update my Java in Firefox. I have un-installed Firefox leaving the Bookmark preferences, etc. on my machine, ran CCleaner to clean the Registry of remaining Firefox items and then re-installed Firefox - I still have the problem.
I have installed Google Chrome to fix this problem but now I find that several of the websites and companies I do business with are not compatible with Chrome.
How can I fix this problem? Why am I only having this issue on 1 of my 4 Windows machines?

I followed the Mozilla help info and deleted the profile locked. parent(?). I use Windows 7 Ultimate.

hello sdandccids, unfortunately this babylon software is hooking-in deeply into the system. especially the component browsemngr.exe (+dll) is known to crash firefox and possibly might also cause the issue you're experiencing.
please go into the windows control panel > programs section and sort the software according to installation date & then remove all entries that got installed at the same date as the babylon toolbar and you're not familiar with ([https://support.mozilla.org/questions/935739#answer-367152 according to babylon] this might be "Browser Manager" + "Bprotector" + "Object Installer" + "Babylon Toolbar on IE").
in case this doesn't work or there are no such entries showing up, please hit ctrl+shift+esc and search if there is a file named browsemngr.exe showing up as running in the list of processes - if so here are instructions for a manual removal (unfortunately quite technical): www.explosiveknowledge.net/main/2012/08/19/browsemngr/
otherwise you can also try a "clean uninstall". uninstall firefox from the windows control panel & chose to remove all personal data. afterwards manually check if the firefox program folder got deleted (it's usually in ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox'') and else remove it manually. then download & install a fresh copy at getfirefox.com
i'd furthermore recommend doing a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] since this firefox start-error can also be a sign of other [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware|malware]] active on the pc.

No copy of firefox is running as far as I can tell. Restart and restoring system to 10 days ago did not help.

Apps on a device are forever associated with the Apple ID that was used to purchase or download them. If the Apple ID on a device is changed the apps acquired with the original Apple ID will require that original Apple ID and password to be updated.
My suggestion would be to erase your kids' iPads and set them up new, each with their own Apple ID. Then turn on Family Sharing with you as the Organizer. This will allow any of the Family members to share apps as long a those apps allow Family Sharing. Turn on Family Sharing in the Settings app.

Yeah. Double tap the home button and the screen will shift upwards to show all your running apps. Just press and hold one until they start 'wiggling' then press the 'no entry' like sign that appears in the top left corner of the apps. That'll close them and release the memory and resources they're taking up

I�ve been trying to test my application in Eclipse, and I am using threads. But when I debug it, sometimes the behavior is not what I am expecting. Sometimes when I stop at some breakpoint for a long time, the debug stops to execute. Curiously the application runs perfectly in run mode.

Debugging threads works perfectly in eclipse. However be aware: If you just set a breakpoint by doubleclicking left to the source line, then its policy ist to stop the trhread, not the VM. That means, once you reach the breakpoint, only the thread reaching that line is stopped. All other threads continue running. If a second thread later also hits that line, it is also stopped. This makes it sometimes difficult to find out, where you are, as two or more threads may be suspended. You can see the status of the threads and switch between them in the treah view, typically in the upper half of the screen.
You can change the behaviour of a breakpoint to "suspend VM" by left-clicking on the breakpoint and choosing breakpoint properties.
I assume in your case, that other threads are continuing to run. They may e.g. produce data, which is supposed to be worked on by the suspended thread. If you stay a long time at the breakpoint, finally you might run out of memory or something else happens, which does not occur in run mode.

Accidentally deleted firefox "profiles.ini" and now says firefox is already running when I try to open it. "a copy of firefox is already open. only one copy of firefox can be open at one time. Now I'm aware this happens often and people have posted solutions to this, but this situation is slightly different. The "profiles" that possibly had parental lock on it were deleted and I don't know how to get it back. Re-downloading firefox obviously does nothing. Opening the task manager and to try and close all mozilla/firefox files and apps doesn't work either. Tried using Onyx to turn invisible files visible but that didn't work either. I think it's cause I deleted the profiles. Suggestions?

Any chance of restoring that profiles.ini file via the Time Machine?

If not then you need to use the Profile Manager to re-register that no longer recognized profile.<br />
You do that by creating a new profile and use Choose Location to point the your lost profile.

Frequently get error "Firefox is already running" when using desktop shortcuts to web sites

I love Firefox and don't want to use another browser. I frequently get the error "Firefox is already running". I even created a batch file to kill the process so I can re-launch it. There has to be a real solution.
The key to my issue is... I use shortcuts to web sites from my desktop. This is what seems to trigger the error (but not every time). Please don't tell me to stop using shortcuts; that isn't a solution.
I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit
Firefox 32.0.1 (had this same problem with all prior versions too)

This isn't an issue. Notice the screen prior to the one that shows usage has an iCloud section and a Manage Storage button. For this button to activate ios needs to download a few kb from icloud. Switching back to this screen forces ios to download those few kb.

I think this is probably a sign that your network could be better than it is.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.
