Determine Image Position within it's containing graphic frame.

Hi, I am trying to obtain the offset of an image item within it's containing frame. i.e. if I set the top left co-ordiante to be x:10pt , y:10pt I need to obtain this programatically. I have tried using Both the ITransformSuite and ITransformFacade without much luck. The values I am getting are not what I expect. I.e. >K2Vector<PMReal> i_x; K2Vector<PMReal> i_y; >Utils<Facade::ITransformFacade>()->GetItemsTranslation( UIDList( imageRef ), Transform::InnerCoordinates(), &i_x, &i_y ); always gives me 0,0 ( as you would expect ). >Transform::ParentCoordinates() Gives me a value but it doesn't seem to be relative to the top left of the containing image item. The strange thing is that if I create 2 image frames and import the same image, I get different values for the positions within the parent ( even if the positions of the images within their respective frames are the same in the InDesign"Control" panel ). But if I create a box and duplicate it and then import the images, I get the same values for the offsets ( although they are still not what I expect ). This difference seems to be related to the original position a box is drawn with on the spread. Ultimately, I would like to obtain the scale, rotation, skew and offset of an image and then apply those same criteria to another image ( possibly on another document ). TIA, Mike.

Aperture already works the way you want it to. "Rejected" is just another rating. Like all ratings, it doesn't move your image from its Project. (You can make a Smart Folder to show images rated as "rejected" -- just like you can create a Smart Folder for any rating (or series of ratings).) To see rejected images in a Project just press "{Control}+8". This and other filter short-cuts are built in Aperture. Click the magnifying glass icon inside the search field in top border of the Browser to see them.

How can I determine mouse position within a 2D picture control

I have an application where I'd like the user to be able to interact with objects drawn in a 2D picture control using the mouse. In order to do this, I need to translate between screen coordinates, which are passed with the mouse events, and coordinates in the 2D picture control.
The problem I'm running into is that I can't find a way to determine the screen coordinate of the upper left hand corner of the 2D picture control's drawing/client area. I tried using the picture control's "Position" property, but this results in an offset due to the difference between the upper left hand corner of the picture control (including the label, etc.) and the upper-left hand corner of the drawing area. See attached VI.
Does anybody know how to get the screen coordinate of the corner of the picture control's drawing area?

Centering Image Horizontally within Div Layer

I've placed an image inside a div layer. The div layer is 200 pixels wide by 200 pixels high. My image is 480 pixels x 720 pixels. So the layer is smaller than the image. How do I center the image horizontally within my div layer? I've applied a css rule on the layer as followed:

display: inline-block;
Because the image is larger than the div layer the image doesn't want to center horizontally. It seem to justify itself on the left side of the div layer even though I've applied a text-align: center on it. Any suggestions.

Make your division at least as wide as your image. Height of divisions should always be determined by content inside it. If you impose a height limit on your division, increased content or text size will fail, causing content to be hidden. If required to display a background-image, use the min-height property.
APDivs as a primary layout method seldom works well. Here is why:

Also, APDivs cannot be centered as they are removed from the normal page flow. You might try wrapping an APDiv inside a relatively positioned parent container, but without seeing your page (entire code), it's impossible to say for sure if this will work for you.

Loading pages in Div? & Image Positioning

Hi i have 2 questions but to save 2posts i will put them both here
First might i say i trully appreciate the help people give at this forum!! hope one day i can help to
Anyway this is my 1st question
i am getting use to Divs now but still learning
i have my page layout as follows: Div at top of page containing site banner> Div under this containing the site navigation> Then my div containter containing site content
So what i want to do is load all website content into the bottom Div but not have to reload the top 2 divs similar to frames basically... I just see it as more efficient if the user is not having to reload the flash buttons and banner for the website everytime a page is called upon and yes i know frames are crap out of date etc etc im not using frames... i just want to target a div
Some one suggested using SSI which i understand how this works sort of... but i know the alternative to what i want is just to set up a basic of how everypage is to look and use ssi + new content?
My other question is about image positioning this i know little about> is there a way in dream weaver to grab absolute control of a picture and position it were you want in design view? similar to changing the wrapping in MS word and just wacking the pic were u want it to go
alternatively or on the same suject that may not be possible but can u atleast layer image over image or position images over 2 divs?
or is there a good tutorial on doing these sorts of things in dreamweaver cs4

You're wrong about efficiency because that's not how a web browser works. Once your images are loaded into the browser's cache, they remain there - available for instant use in the rest of your site pages. Efficiency comes from good site planning. Gimmicks do not a good site make.
Adobe removed Flash Buttons and Flash Text from CS4 for a reason. Use CSS styled text links or CSS Sprites instead.

Determining image resolution

If you receive a file that was originally done in Illustrator but then converted into a PDF, and this file contains an image, is there a way to quickly determine what the resolution on the image is within the PDF. Trying to see what the print quality will be before it goes into production so low resolution images are quickly tagged. I have CS5.

Cannot Control Image Position in RoboHelp When Linking To FM Files

We are using TCS 3.5 on Windows XP Pro. It has taken a lot of work to get our mapping from FM to RH to work correctly, and we now remain with one outstanding task that I cannot figure out: controlling the position of images in the RoboHelp output.
The images appear arbitrarily justified left, center, or right in RoboHelp itself and in help outputs. I should also add that this is happening with both structured and unstructured FM files. Typically, the output I'm working with is WebHelp or WebHelp Pro.
I've turned to the "Object Properties" and "Anchored Frame" pods in FM looking for settings that might be contributing to this behavior, but have not found anything that appears to connect settings there with the image behavior in RH. In the structured FM files, I had some suspicions that complex if/else conditions controlling image position might somehow be contributing to this problem. But the conversion settings in RH don't allow those EDD rules to carry over.
I also turned to the "Conversion Settings" in RH and played with some of the options for "Images" there, unticking or ticking "Use Distiller to Generate Images" and "Do Not Regenerate Images."
Our online help now looks pretty clean, since all the styles are mapped, with the exception being these wonky images everywhere.
I would certainly like to determine the root cause of this behavior, because we're using this FM>RH workflow to create online help systems for hundreds of legacy FM documents that encompass thousands of such images. I want to fix this in the mapping and not touch the original images, if possible
However, if anyone has the answer regarding the best practice for generally controlling image behavior in structutured and unstructured FM to RH, I would be eager to learn these details as well.

I believe it is. And I have had the same problem with tables.
I made multiple posts about the images trying to describe it in different ways, but all I got were crickets chirping on the forums. I finally called Adobe technical support. Their initial reaction was to show me how image mapping did work correctly with freshly minted FM files and RH project. I had to draw them back into real world scenarios by giving them my source files to recreate the issue. At this point they admitted something was amiss, and one rep even slipped and said it was a “known issue.” They promised to get back to me with a resolution. But despite 4 additional attempts contacting them, and they now just ignore my e-mails.
I am very disappointed in the way Adobe has handled this matter, both from a development and a support standpoint. It would do all of us users a world of good if they admitted these flaws in their release notes, and offered possible workarounds. Maybe there is no workaround, in which case it explains why they don’t admit it? But beyond poor software development and bug fixes, I think it’s sad that they don’t follow up on support.
Adobe seems to assume that tables and images are going to carry over from FM to RH correctly, so you get no fine tune controls, like you do for character and paragraph mapping, and I think this is the crux of the problem.
I got those tables working in my projects just by dumb luck, but I still have no control over them. The images…they still represent a huge problem for our company. We invested an enormous amount of resources into a RH migration, hoping to continue to use FM. But now we have issues with no apparent resolution. It’s making us regret our decision and reconsider our initial considerations to move to MadCap Flare and/or a component content-management system.
If you have any luck making headway with the issue, I would love to know more.

How can we place an image in already created inline graphic frame?

OBSERVATION::
As i have analysed the snippet Runner,i came to know that it allows to load the placegun with the file(in my case image). but in order to place it,we need to click on the document..and then the image is placed at (0,0) of the page(I suppose Indesign does it automatically).
what is needed,is to place image in already created inline graphic frame. i have created a inline graphic frame at some position in the story,but now i required to place image in this created frame.

Determining Mouse Position

I'm trying to determine the position of the mouse cursor relative to my content pane, while over an added component. I'd rather not do any calculating, since MouseEvent.getPoint() returns the point within the component the mouse is overbut will if no other alternatives come about.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

use SwingUtilities.convertMouseEvent or which ever convert() method you like.

Convert mouse position to image position

Using a zoomed IMAQ image in an image control, I want to recover the position of the mouse in the co-ords of the underlying image. LastMousePositionX (and Y) give the info I want but they are one click in the past and not the current position. Amazingly, there doesn't appear to be an equivalent CurrentMousePositionX. I can't seem to find the info I need to do the conversion manually. The mousedown event returns the current mouse position and I can get the position in the image container by subtracting off its left and top position. But to convert this to the image position I need to know both the zoom and where the images origin is relative to what is displayed. I can't seem to find that origin position in the list of property nodes. The only thing I can seem to come up with is to extract the info from teh image information string, but this seems like an incredibly poor way to extract such obvious information - espeically since the info must be calculated to put in the string anyway. Can anyone help with this?

I am confused why you get the mouse position one click in the past because it seems to work ok for me. I've had to use four of the image properties to recreate the effect using the mousemove event, but this seems to give the same values as the Last Mouse Position property so I think it does what you want. I couldn't see an origin property so I did the conversion using the position given at the image center. I wanted to post a snippet here but I'm new to posting and couldn't seem to get it to work for the whole block diagram, so I'm using a screenshot instead. I hope this helps in some way.

Can't move image files within Bridge

I recently bought an iMac and got the CS5 license transferred over to the Mac platform. Got CS5 loaded and everything works except for one critical thing: I can no longer move image files within Bridge. When I do the right click on an image file to select that command, the command is "grey" and won't let me to choose it. So I am forced to rearrange my image files through the Mac's Finder/Pictures feature. Drag and drop doesn't work either. I have looked everywhere for a setting that would allow movement of files to different folders and rearrangement within Bridge, and can't find one. I have Bridge set as my default for photos and not the lame iPhoto program on Macs. I previously was to be able to freely use Bridge for organizing my photos on a PC and now sorely disappointed that I can't do this with my new iMac.

No need for disappointment because you can move all files freely within Bridge.
First check if you have read and write permissions for your files/folders/disk (try move the files using finder) If Finder allows you to drag the files to the location you previously wanted in Bridge then the problem lies in Bridge.
First select a file and with right mouse click menu choose purge cache for selection. If the problem is gone you could do so for the whole folder using menu tools/cache/purge cache for folder while having Bridge pointed to that folder.
If not restart bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences.

Setting the image size within a JFrame!

I know when i draw a image without linking to a label i can use drawImage of Graphics class to set the size of the image.But in this case i am linking the image to the JLabel and it's occupying the entire screen and the text with the JLabel is thrown somewhere out.

Read it.Got a lot of info from that.But the trouble with mine is that i am linking the image to the JLabel and thats why i am unable to set its size because the image will be added to the JPanel when i add the JLabel to it?If i was directly printing the image i would have rather used Graphics.drawImage( ) where i can manually specify the width.

How to restore image after Set Text of Container behavior

Hi there, I'm not sure how to apply the Set Text of Container behavior. Basically, when I mouse over an image, I want a larger version of the image with decription text to appear. I also want to restore the original image without text on mouse out.
I want the larger image and its text to appear in the exact location of the original image not anywhere else on the page. Here's an example what I've done to try and achieve the effect:-
1. Create a div and insert image in it.
2. Select the image and Set Text of Container behavior. Under the Set Text of Container dialog box, select the div that the image is in (e.g. div "apdiv1") and type in the New HTML - For example: <img src="largerimage.jpg">image description
3. Set the event to mouseover
I do not know how to proceed to restore the original image without text when I mouse out. I know I’m doing something wrong to achieve this effect but I can’t figure out what it is. Your help is greatly appreciated!

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.

E63 sayin no memory / an map says position within ...

HI, i have a nokia e63. everytime i try to do anything or save any thing it say pls delect some thing as your memory is full.. so i got a memory card, and i have formatted it.. but how do i now get my things to save on there, i have not loaded anything from buying the fone, its not as if i have downloaded loads of songs of pictures, i havenot done anything, i have taken 5 photos, and then it says i have no more room for any more? why is it saying i have no memory after 5 photos, and how do i get it to either now save stuff to the memory card, ?
and i have map on my phone it was on already, but it always says it shows my position within 500 meters.. why cant it show me where i am excatly, i was told i neede to buy something else to go with the phone to make this work properly, ( THATS NOT WHAT THE MAN SAID TO ME WHEN I ORDERED THE PHONE HE SAID IT WAS READY TO GO) but anyway it doesnt so any help please on both of these thanks very much.. x

1. What things do you want saved there? Also, go to Menu>File Manager. How much memory do you have left on phone?
2. GPS cannot really give you exact position. Even dedicated GPS recievers can only do so much. Also your location also has a bearing, if you are in a place with lots of tall buildings, the satellites may not be able to get a proper and more accurate fix of your position. This is especially true when inside buildings.

when i develop servlet+javabean structure application,in order to imploement decoupling,i
would like to write the config information in the properties files(key-value pair),in
servlet,i use "getResourceAsStream(String relativePath)" method to retrieve the
configuration information from the properties files(i even write the SQL clause
in the files),it alwsys works well.
now,i want to implement such function within the ejb container,that is to read
a properties file from session bean,but i don't know how can i locate the file
within the ejb container by using relative path,i wonder if there is the same
method within ejb container as "getResourceAsStream(.......)" method within servlet
container?

In general, you should look at using environment entries (variables) in the
deployment descriptors (both the war and EJB jar rather than properties
files for configuring J2EE applications. The reasons for this are many:
1. This is the official way to do it according to the spec. Properties
files are the J2SE way of doing things
2. As you note, that it's not obvious how you would (legally) read a
properties file inside an EJB.
3. It's consistent between the web and EJB part of your code
4. the weblogic console and tools have good capabilities to edit these
fields.
