Determine version used to create a report at runtime?
Is there a way to determine what version of Crystal was used to create a report during runtime? I've looked at the objects and cannot find a property that might be used. There is a File Forrmat Schema property in the Report Definition item in the Performance Information Menu option in the designer that might be useful, but can't find a way to get in in the object model. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Directly off of the ReportClientDocument class there is a MajorVersion and MinorVersion property that contains this information.

My question is i want create a Generic Datasource using Function module and can I include the logic(Abap Program) that is used for plant maintenance report in the function module? Step1-Create a table structure which you need to create same as the fields you require in you data source.
Step 2-create a custom abap program and inside that call the Client abap program with the selections as required and save the result data in some table
Step 3-create infoset query.In the infoset query give your table structure name and program name which you developed.

What Universe was used to create a report?
Is there any way to tell what Universe was used to create a specific report, Also is there anyway to tell what Universe connection a specific Universe is using?

Creating Dynamic Reports at Runtime Using JRC

Our application currently provides the ability to create custom reports on any field(database column) in the application, including custom fields created by the user. Each customer's database will be different. Is there a way in Crystal Reports to dynamically build a report based on a custom query? I would need the ability to do this programmatically, through JSP, by adding and removing fields from a Crystal Report. My plan is to push the results of a query to a report viewer, but I need the ability to add, remove, resize, format or hide fields at runtime. I would also need the ability to modify the field headers and Group Header fields. Is this possible? You can take a look at the new Preferences API that is shipped along with JDK 1.4. This should help you in saving report structures in one place and help you modify it through a GUI without re-compilation.

Can using query create aging report for GL Account
Hi all expert,
I have a challenge scenario which customer request print out aging report for the following GL Account.
This is not a business partner account. However, customer want display like aging report.
30 days aging report for the following GL accounts by projects:-
i) WIP (Work In Progress) account
ii) Accrued Revenue account
iii) Accrued Cost account
Examples:
Current Balance 30 day 60 day 90 day 120 day
Account WIP 10000 2000 3000 5000 0
Any idea or example given? If yes, can you provide a query here?

In standard SAP Business One this is difficult as the reports are 2 dimensional. To achieve this you will need to write multiple select statements into a temporary table and then select the final result from the temp table. Here is a sample for you to test:

Go to Microsoft SQL Studio manager and select your company database. Then expand the list and select Programmability > Stored Procedures. Right click on Stored Procedures and select New Stored Procedure. Copy the above code over the code in the edit window and change the database name as well as report name. Then select Execute to create the stored procedure. If you make changes, remember to change the word CREATE to ALTER (with other words CREATE for the first execute, and ALTER thereafter). Then in SAP Business One create a new query and leave everything blank. Click on execute and select the pencil to change to edit mode. Remove the words SELECT and type in EXEC REPORT_NAME (change the REPORT_NAME to the name you used in SQL). Then execute again and the results will be displayed in SAP Business One.
Let me know if you get stuck. Remember the above is an example and will need to be changed to use your tables and fields as required. The basic idea is to move across by one column with each select statement. So for example the first select statement does the CURRENT column, the second one the 30DAYS column, and so on.

Here is one requirement in our project, where we have multiple purchase order in XML file, each of the purchase order may contains n number of lines. We have to create the PO report using the XSL-FO method.
If any purchase order printed on n no. of pages then page from 1 to (n-1) should display only subtotal and n th(the last page for respective purchase order) page should display the total of all the line involved in the respective purchase order.

Need Package Name to create SAP report in SE38
Hello there,
I'm in the process of working through a Unicode conversion on an ECC 6.0 system, and one of the steps is to run report TERM_DELETE_INCORRECT_CHARSET. We are on a lower Support Pack level then when this report is delivered via OSS Note 1280494, so I need to manually create it in SE38.
I'm used to creating Z reports and assigning them to our customer packages (Create Object Directory Entry popup box), but not used to assign to an SAP package. When I pick one that I believe would be appropriate, I receive error "Cannot extend package ***".
I'm hoping that someone can tell me what the appropriate package would be to get this report in the system so that I can move forward with my conversion.

1) You install the Crystal reports Designer (CRW32.exe).
With your Crystal Report Server, you should also have received a second CD that would have the CR designer.
2) You use the RAS SDK and create reports on the fly using the RAS report creation APIs - .NET or Java. Since you are in the .NET developer forum, I assume you might be interested in the .NET RAS SDK. Here is a list of resources i would recommend:

We have ECC6 and EP7 we are using the create expense report iview in ESS.
We have an issue whereby if a user creates an expense report and after saving uses the 'what do you want to do next' link 'Go To Travel Home Page' and is taken to the Travel Homep page, then clicks on 'Create Expense Report' it loads the claim that has just been saved. It should load the new claim screen.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Create Expense Report - "Master Travel Company" error
Hello everyone,
I´m using the "Create Expense Report" funciton, from inside SAP Portal - ESS, and I´m getting an error, AFTER creating the "expense receipts record" (for a taxi trip for instance) saying something like this in english: "The company can't be different from the master company".
I've tried a few things to fix this but still no luck.

I was able to see that the field COMPANY was excluded from it17, do you think this could be the problem? (I´m currently asking the HR people to put the COMPANY field back on it17 in order to check).

Set the Database connection in report at runtime in VB 6.0
Hi,
I have a report created in CR XI that connects to the oracle server. The report works fine if I have same Service name in the tnsnames.ora file which I had used while creating the report.
But I dont want that. I want that I pass a recordset directly to the report and it uses the connection that was used to create the recordset. but it doesnt do that and I get "Failed to open the connection" error
This is the way I have the code

Determining the version of captivate used to create a presentation
Is there somewhere in the contents of a web presentation that I can find the version of captivate that was used to create it?

I think this needs to done from the developer side , means from the preson who is developing your content and he must know which version he is using .
If you are talking about the user end , they will never able to check the version of Captivate in which course is published until and unless the developer passes a variable in the project whcih shows the version while playing the output.

Create a report archive using iBot recurrence/versioning

I'm trying to set up a report archive. I have an iBot set up that creates a report. Unfortunately the report is written over each time the iBot is run. I'd like to have the iBot create a new report each time it is run. Is this possible? If not, can I create another iBot that somehow saves the previous one and then fires the main iBot to run the report again? Any ideas are appreciated.

How to create a report using XML data source from Crystal Report Designer

Iu2019m having Crystal Report Designer XI R2 SP4. Iu2019m trying to create a report using XML data source stored on disk. This is a customer order report and the xml is structured in such a way that it has an order details header part (master) and then it has several order lines (detail). One order line can have several order line characteristics (detail-detail). So what I need to know is now I can design this layout from the designer. If this was done using views I can do it with sub-reports but using xml data this seems to be different. Can you help me to design this layout? I have included the xml and xsd as well.

Thank you for the response and ideas you have given me so far. I can get the fetch the data from the data source without any problem. That is I do the following,
1. New Report
2. From Create New Connection-> XML
3. Provide the u201CLocal XML Fileu201D and have u201CSpecify Schema Fileu201D checked -> Next
4. Provide the u201CLocal Schema Fileu201D -> Finish
Then I can see the following under XML

For this point onwards only I need help. How do I group, add fields and design the layout so I can get an report output as follows.
