Develop a flex player

Hi,
I need to develop a flex player that can play stream in the protocols
shoutcast, mms and rtmp. I found little material.
Could play a stream a shoutcast radio.
But there was an error when play with this link: http://radios.microum.com.br:8100
and other protocols (mms and rtmp) do not work.
Some links the radios to test:

mms://200.175.8.14/estacaopop64
The player must play both protocols conveying what is being played by
a radio station.Any suggestions?!

Honestly if I were you I'd take a look at the PushButton game engine...it supports both Flex and Flash but provides a higher level abstraction that might serve you well. There are quite a few examples as well.

you may want to go to settings>general>reset all settings (you'll have to reset your ringtones/wallpapers) and if the sound still doesn't play do a software restore in iTunes, if after the sound still does not play contact apple for possible hardware repair

Can I develop a media player in Director?

Hi!
I want to develop an application (a media player) where you
could choose and play video and music files (stored at the
computer). I want the user to be able to fast forward and rewind
these video or music files as she like. It is really important that
you could hear the actual sound go fast when a music file is going
fast forward or rewind.
Do you think that I could use Director to develop this media
player? Or do you know an other program I could use instead?

I've tried to make a Director application which uses
QuickTime player to play a video file. But when I push the fast
forward and rewind buttons, the video isn't going that very faster
and most of all: you can't hear the sound going fast or
backwards!!!! If I use the original QT player, you can hear it, but
not when it's inside of an Director application. Why is this? Can I
change it so I can hear the actual sound go fast or backwards???
(I can't use the QT player by it self since it seems that I
can't change the user interface of it as I want.)

All the paths to CFCs are the same in my live production site. Can you be more specific as to what you mean by "RemoteClass aliases in your AS Classes and CFCs (if any) are correct."? How will the app know that the CFC is on http://myLiveSite.com instead of http://myDevSite.com? The only line of code that I have noticed that points to a URL is the endpoint in a file called _Super_XXX.as. And at the top of that file it says that the file is not meant for editting.
To clarify...I see your app/code all exists on a server access via a web browser so I can understand that everything still works when deployed. Mine is a mobile app so when I am developing and testing on my local computer the URL points to my local development machine. However when I deploy it to a mobile device like a tablet and run the app, it needs to be able to access a cfc on a remote server via a different URL ie. my http://myLiveSite.com/myCFC.cfc instead of http://localhost/myCFC.cfc

Xoom Development With Flex Hero / FB Burrito

Hello:
I have been developing an app for Xoom using the Java SDK. We would like to use Flash so the app is more protable. I just got the Burrito beta with Flex Hero and since Xoom doesn't support flash yet there isn't much I can do except back end coding.
Will there be an emulator for Xoom?
Does developing using Flash create an APK that you can publish to the market? Obviously they'd need to update their device to support flash ...
I am at a cross road, continue with Java or switch to Flash. I need some advice!

Hi,
There's a difference between an app running on Android with the AIR runtime,
vs a Flash web app running in the browser. Currently Xoom supports the AIR
runtime, so you can create apps with AIR for Android and deploy them to the
device now, without needing the Flash Player in the browser. By March 18,
the Flash Player for the browser will be available to the Xoom. Flash Player
in the browser is separate from the AIR runtime.
When creating apps with Flash or Flex using the AIR for Android deployment
option (currently in FB Burrito or Flash CS5 latest update) you can create a
.apk file that can be installed onto any Android device that supports AIR:

I need to create a KM interface that is basically a striped down verion of the standard navigation. I just want the icon for the file type, file name, and date. I do not want any context menus or any other options.
I was wondering ifI can do this with the flexi UI or if I need to customer develope a renderer??

Developer Adobe Flash Player 10.1 r52 embedded in Family Tree Maker 2012 & 2014 - Vulnerability

Here is the issue.
I have Windows 8.0. Flash runs fine on the Internet Explorer - no problem.
But I have a third party software company (Family Tree Maker v. 2014) which has a flash .exe file that is outdated and causes a vulnerability (per Kaspersky).
The version of flash embedded in the program is Adobe Flash Player 10.1 r52. The file name is "Tutorial_PC.exe" and is 6,311 KB. Under file properties under the Details it states the file version as 10.1.52.14 (also it is the same for Product version). I also see the original file name as "SAFlashPlayer.exe".
A Date Modified is 8/5/2011.
Is there not an updated developer version of flash that is secure and doesn't produce vulnerability flags which either I can exchange with this version or Family Tree Maker can rebuild their new software with?

If so, you can download the latest version from https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
If indeed your SAFlashPlayer.exe is associated with .swf files, then you need to change the file association to the newly downloaded standalone player.

Getting problems while playing video files in flex player

Hi friends,
Here i can able to play all video file formats like .mp4,3gp,.flv,.swf.But the problem ,i can't able to play mobile recording video files in this player even if that files are mp4 or 3gp or flv.In this scenario,can't understand what should do and where is my problem.So it would be grateful if anybody suggests and share me some idea where i am wrong.

People use one-player-per-video because you can't reuse player objects. Player is a parent class to a whole bunch of subclasses, each subclass is capable of playing a specific kind of video. So when you create your Player object, you're actually creating some subclass type that's specific to that video type. So while it's technically possible to use a single Player subclass to play more than one video, unless all of your videos are of the same video encoding / audio encoding...you won't be able to reuse it.
What you need to do is dispose of the last player before you create a new player (player.close), and do that over and over again. That way, you're never using more than 1 player's worth of memory...

Change fonts of photoshop text layer via panel developed by Flex Builder

I am developing photoshop cs5 plugin which will change font family of text layer. Changeing system font is ok but my embedded font is not loading on text layer.
syntax used to change font on text layer.

AD.activeLayer.textItem.font="Verdana";
I have few webfonts on my local drive. how can i use this font so that it can reflect on text layer in runtime with out installing manually in system font.
In developed panel, embedded fonts are rendering but I need to change font of text layer on clicking fonts list from panel.
Does anyone have any idea on it? Please help me.

Opening pdf in AIR HTML browser developed using Flex

Hi,
I am trying to open a PDF in AIR Browser. The Air browser supports this only if i have installed the Acrobat reader 8.1 and above, for versions lower than 8.1 it is not supporting and not opening the PDF file. In another scenerio I have installed both Acrobat reader 9 and Acrobat proffessional 7 but the Air browser fails to open the PDF because it comparing the version against proffesssional instead reader. Actually the pdf should open in AIR browser since I have installed Acrobat Reader 9. Please suggest how to overcome this issue.

I'm not sure I quite follow your original question. If you are asking if you load a local html file or set the htmltext of a HTML control in Adobe AIR and want to use @font-face, then I defer to Joe's answer.
But, if you set the location to a page on a web server and you have Adobe Air 1.5 installed, then @font-face does work. I tested this on two pages. One is http://www.taptaptap.com/ and the font Fertigo (which I don't have installed on my machine) showed up. I also tested it on http://www.zeldman.com/dwws/ which has fallback support for IE 4 and up. Some things to remember, IE does not support the format attribute in @font-face. And IE only supports .eot file format. However, as Joe mentioned, using local to see if the font is installed on the users machine to prevent blank space from showing, is not supported. Please refer to the list of unsupported web-kit features Joe mentions in another post.

Flex 3 and Java - Integrated Development on Eclipse

I am new to flex as well as to eclipse. I have downloaded
Adobe Flex Builder 3.0 and installed it. I want to use java at the
back-end, but I don't have Java perspective option in eclipse.
Therefore, I am currently using 2 IDE(s), one is
flex-builder, and other is Eclipse for Web tool platform
(eclipse-jee-europa-winter-win32.zip).
Is there anyway that I can benefit integrated development of
Flex and java using same IDE?

I wouldn't try it really... it's not worth the issues you'd
probably run into and the work of getting it setup, if it's even
possible. I just run Eclipse and FB separate. If you have a gig of
ram you should be fine doing this I think.
If you *really* want to get rid of one, you can use the Flex
plugin for Eclipse, but I've heard people complain about it not
playing nice with Java.

Flex Mobile Development...

I have started to work on mobile development using Flex 4.5 recently.
But basically I need some clarifications on Flex 4.5 mobile development.
1. What kind of mobile development can we do in Flex 4.5 SKD ?
2. What kind of mobile apps can we build using Flex 4.5 SDK ? (I mean just basic apps or some complex apps like requesting servers and displaying some charts and graphs, playing videos and image gallery on the devices etc...)
3. What is the difference in developing mobile apps using Flex 4.5 SDK and Platform based SDK's (like Android SDK for android or iOS SDK for apple or Blackberry SDK for balckberry) ?
These are the basic questions I have right now...
Can somebody answer these questions ?
