Develop JavaFX RIA in Oracle JDeveloper

From the official website for JavaFX, we could understand Netbeans IDE (for JavaFX) is the preferred IDE for JavaFX development.
But as I'm required to migrate my JavaFX to Oracle JDeveloper (previously developed in Netbeans 6.8), I build up a generic project in JDeveloper. I selected tools -> manage libraries -> new, and created a new library for JavaFX in JDeveloper, then I added all necessary classpath\source path\doc path into this library.
I added this library to my generic project and create a empty file with extension .fx. However when I put some really simple codes inside this file and try to run it, the compiler tells me that it's not runnable.
Any comments on this? Regards from isaac.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, I am able to run all the Module from the Model. The error is coming when I am trying to run the View. Either running directly from view or individual Java file, in both cases getting the same error:
(oracle.jbo.JboException) JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null

  • Any solutions from oracle  to improve Performance in Oracle Jdeveloper 10g

    Hi ,
We are developing ADF Applications in Oracle Jdeveloper 10g , 4 developers are working . now every one M/c Ram upgraded to 4 GB
Still my developers are getting Performance issue , Like Java Heap memory Reached . when we saw in Task Manager Memeusage reached 450,000K
then Jdeveloper dies and hang there . we have to do this at least 4 to 5 times everyday . thats where it taking a lots of time to
modify a single small changes .
What our deveoper are doing they trying to commit frequently after making a important changes in application . but sometimes developer are also
forget in between . So wee need a solution for this if Oracle fixes this issue .
    Thanks
    KP

    Hi,
We never had that issue with 10g (but happens in 11g), what is the project's size? I assume very big, else your environment must have something fishy, 10g is really fast and lightweight.

  • Conversion from Other Application to Oracle JDeveloper

    Dear R/s,
We have a C/S architecture system developed using Compuware-Uniface as front-end and and Oracle 7.2 as back-end. Now we are planning to upgrade our system. We have come to a decesion that Oracle 7.2 db needs to be migrated to Oracle 8i and Uniface frontend application to be converted to Oracle JDeveloper. My question to you is that, Is there any utility in Oracle JDeveloper which would help converting the objects developed in UNIFACE to Oracle JDeveloper. Please let me know as we are in a hurry to come to a decesion.
    Rgds

I assume this is a simplified version of a more complex problem, since your second function would not return anything more than the first. If you want to use TABLE on a ref cursor, then you need to do some sort of intermediary transformation, such as using a pipelined function, as in the example in the link below. Also, this does not appear to have anything to do with objects, so should be posted in the SQL and PL/SQL forum instead.

  • Test oracles jdeveloper 10g claims

    Hi,
I have a course assignment that I need help with from someone experienced with object orientation and JDeveloper.
Basically I am investigating the claim that oracle jdeveloper (most recent version 10g v9.0.5.2) is java enabled. Oracle say they have embedded with java. Im Looking at the extent to which this is true.
    Questions and ideas that im looking to answer and include within the auctions web site below;
Have business logic actually embedded within the oracle database
To develop multi-tier software using JDeveloper
Does JDeveloper really offer lots of scope for multi tier java application development?
How does JDeveloper actually support jakarta struts?
Basically put together a database, where the logic of the system should be within the system. The business logic outside of the database. Put business logic into objects themselves in order to improve data independence have applications independent of each other with multiple programs accessing same files
object oriented business logic must sit within the database tier with middle tier the controller
    thanks
    andrew

    Thanks for your reply Duncan
    I am would be very interested in your detailed views on the following. Please provide as much details as possible. I would be very grateful for your view as a developer;

  • Differences between Oracle Developer an ORacle JDeveloper

    - Oracle SQLDeveloper
    - Oracle Developer Suite
    2) Assuming Oracle Developer Suite:
    - Oracle Dev Suite is used to create Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Discoverer worksheets, and Entity Relationship Diagrams
    - Oracle JDeveloper is used to create any kind of Java object (including Java 2 & 3 tier forms) and ALL objects that support those Java objects (XML, UML, database, SOAP, etc) BUT NOT the stuff in Dev Suite.
Both are very powerful. Expect to take at least 15 minutes* to learn either.

  • Oracle JDeveloper or Forms Developer

    Hi all,
I am currently developing web based application using JDeveloper with BC4J and JSP. Somehow I have seen the demo on Oracle web site of web based application develop using Forms Developer and deploy to 9iAS with applet use for creating user interface on the web browser. You seem to be able to create better interface with Forms Developer (it is like running windows user interface on the web browser). So I would like to ask any experienced Oracle Developer to give some pros and cons of these two approach and how it migth be integrated to create a powerful web application. Please shed some light on this matter, this would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

Check out http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/htdocs/FormsJavaSOD.html - this touches on the differences between JDeveloper and Forms as a development tool.
Forms uses PL/SQL for its business logic where as JDeveloper uses Java. You can still build "Forms like" applications in JDeveloper as well - this is a feature called JClient which allows you to build Java Clients (Forms is a Java Client as well).
Of course you could also develop your application with BOTH tools and blend them together; for example, a Forms application calling Web Services built in JDeveloper - the options are limitless!! ;o)

  • Getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0)

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle Unified Directory 11.1.2.2.0 and WebSphere Application Server 7 with Fix Pack 37.
I am getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 (7.0.0.37) with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0). While adding products to cell (Oracle Directory Services Manager for WebSphere - 11.1.2.2.0), I am getting below error:
CFGFWK-64069: The following prerequisites were found to be missing: Oracle WebCenter Composer Extension - 11.1.1.0
Also attached the screenshot of the error.
    Please help.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
ODSM has the following dependencies apart from ADF (both components depend also on ADF):
    - UIShell (oracle.idm.uishell.war)
    - Webcenter Composer (oracle.webcenter.composer.war).
    Apparently the composer is missing.
Important points to check when using ODSM with WAS:
    - To install and configure Oracle Fusion Middleware with IBM WebSphere, you must first install (but not configure) IBM WebSphere
    - You must install the Oracle Application Development Framework as the same user who installed Oracle Unified Directory.
    - appdev must be installed under the same ORACLE_HOME as OUD

  • What previous knowledge need to learn oracle jdeveloper 11g (adf faces&jsf)

hi plz tell me, what are all technologies and languages i want to knew before i learn adf faces with jsf in oracle jdeveloper 11g

    Hi,
Although the blog post is ok, I would certainly add a good JSF book/tutorial before the "Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF" part. For even better results, I would add a Trinidad book/tutorial before it as well. If you want to be future proof, add a Facelets tutorial between the JSF and Trinidad part. If you go right away to "Developing RIA Web Applications with Oracle ADF" you'll only make yourself a robot not understanding what happen behind the scene, often resulting in performance and memory issues as well as not so good looking application since you're going to force yourself into the Oracle LaF only.
For the JSF part, check out http://horstmann.com/corejsf/ and, if you can handle really technical stuff: http://jcp.org/aboutJava/communityprocess/final/jsr314/index.html
    For Facelets: https://facelets.dev.java.net/nonav/docs/dev/docbook.html and http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-facelets/

I have tried this out in the EA release of JDev, and have reproduced the problem you reported. However, trying out the latest development build, the problem does not occur, so this bug has been fixed. You'll pick up this fix when we next release the software on OTN.

  • Developer 6.0 vs. JDeveloper

Can someone clear up a little confusion I have about Jdeveloper and Developer 6.0.
We want to create a front-end application based off of forms and deploy that application on the web through a browser. I know that I can do this with Developer 6.0 server but it requires the forms server. Is there anyway to have developer 6.0 write out pure java code so that no forms server is needed? If the answer is no then I assume I need JDeveloper?
Since I have never used JDeveloper under what circumstances would I want to use it as opposed to Developer 6.0? Can JDeveloper generate pure java code that can be deployed though a web server without the need for a forms type server? If so can I use any web server or is the Oracle application server (OAS) required?
Final question. Assuming I developer a JDeveloper application what are the licensing requirements for end-users. Is there a license that must be bought at either the client-side or server-side for deployment?
    Thanks,
    Mike Campbell
    [email protected]

May be I can answer part of the questions. First, when you use Developer 6 to create either Forms or Reports, the application can run under either client/server or web environment. To run it under web environment, you need to have OAS as middle tier. The front end only need to have jave-enabled browser. JInitiator act as a bridge in between. You need only have Server side deployment.
For JDeveloper, it generates java class for you, it requires you understand java, write some java codes.
For neither tool, you don't need any client side or server-side license. Just the cost of the tool.
