  • New to java.. What I need to develop GPS application for Blackberry

    I was wondering what everything I needed to get started developing GPS applications for blackberrys.
    It interest me a lot.. and I know C# and some VB. I am wanting to learn so getting a book would be good but just wondering what developer tools I needed to develop this kind of application. I currently have Visual Studio 2008 and I have seen a plug in for it.

If .NET, then have fun with Visual Studio and find yourself a .NET forum because this isn't it. If you're going to want to do this with Java, then go to the Sun tutorial site, find the getting started section, and start following those directions. Don't worry about the GPS and blackberry stuff for a good 3-12 months, depending on your current knowledge and abilities.

  • JBO-27122 error in ADF mobile client application for blackberry

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop a simple ADF mobile client application for blackberry. Currently, working only with Blackberry 9700 simulator. I am using the following for development:
    - Jdev 11.1.1.3
    - Oracle database lite 10.3.3
    I have done all the steps as given in the oracle demo. But when I try to run the application in blackberry simulator, the page shows the following error:
    ERROR: failed to change page
    oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl.createPreparedStatement: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement: select po_header_id from po_headers_all where po_header_id=1
    [oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl.createPreparedStatement] Encountered exception executing query on ViewObject: header1
    [oracle.jbo.server.DBTransactionImpl.createPreparedStatement] Error retrieving BindingContainer : 'mobile_twoPageDef'
    oracle.adfnmc.java.sql.SQLException:
    oracle.adfnmc.java.sql.SQLException:net.rim.device.api.database.DatabaseException: select po_header_id from po_headers_all where po_header_id=1 : SQL logic error or missing database

    Unable to create PreparedStatement with SQL select po_header_id from po_headers_all from po_header_id=1
    Please suggest what could have been wrong while developing or deploying the application.
    P.S. : The view object (header) shows data successfully when run in the application module. Also, a .db file gets created in the SD card folder. The synchronisation is a success when mSync.exe file is run in the <Oracle_Home>/Mobile/Server/Sdk/bin.

    Sorry my content got repeated.
    you can go through this thread FOD mobile db sync with base adf server db not working
    there is link that you can follow for synchronization (check second last message)

  • Oracle Fusion Middleware Java API Reference for Oracle ADF Mobile

    Where can I find "Oracle Fusion Middleware Java API Reference for Oracle ADF Mobile"?
    Thanks a lot for your time.

    Hi, this is referring to the JavaDocs for Java methods/classes supported by ADF Mobile. You can typically right (or ctrl) click on any ADF Mobile specific Java method and select "JavaDoc". You can open up a sample app that contains any Java class - for example the HR sample app, and find any method with name "adfmf*". You should be able to see the Java doc for the ADF Mobile related methods/classes.

  • Developing Java Applications for Windows CE

    Hello,
    I hope this sub forum is right. So I must develop a Java Application for Windows CE. I read something about J2ME, but I think this is only for Mobilephone and Windows CE supports AWT. So I tried just some simple forms with J2ME.
    Can anybody tell me how I develop java Applications for Windows CE? Can I use Eclipse or must I use another IDE?
    Realy I developed Swing 5-6 Month but I have no idea how I develop Java Applications for Windows CE.
    Thanks a lot for helping...

    The MIDP for Palm OS 1.0 requires Palm OS v3.5 or higher to run. According to your error message, the emulator is not running v3.5 or higher. Try to get hold of a ROM image with a later version. I've run it with v4.0 of the OS and it works.

    Developing iPhone apps with JavaFX 2 (Demo)
    Not much there, but apparently people are trying to hack it together using JavaFX 2 already. I believe I read an article where Oracle itself had given a presentation about a JavaFX2 app on an iPhone; I believe the gist of it is that they want to make it so you can bundle the Java runtime with your application, which makes it legal to sell a Java application through the appstore.

  • Prerequisites for oracle adf mobile

    Hi,
    I need to learn oracle adf mobile technology. I know little bit of java. Means I understand java syntax. I have absolutely no experience in web technologies like jsp,jsf etc.. even css I do not know.
    What should be the learning path for me before I actually start reading oracle adf mobile tutorial? I do not even know javascript. What are all the basic stuffs I should know before starting with adf mobile
    Thanks
    Vadiraj

    I'm not sure if your background is sufficient for developing any application. ADF requires you to have at least a good understanding of java. 'A little bit' might not be enough.
    Well, you'll find this out yourself pretty fast.
    the Oracle ADF Mobile homepage Oracle ADF Mobile has three links on the page showing a demo, an overview (which would be my starting point) and a link to the ADF Academy. This last link is designed to help users developing ADF Mobile applications.
    After watching the other videos you can start there. If you don't understand what is going on there you have to deepen your knowledge in this aera first.

  • Is it possible to call a task flow present in 1 ADF Mobile Application to another ADF Mobile Application?

    In ADF Mobile, I want to call a task flow present in application1 to a different application2 on click of a button. Is it possible?

    Hi,
    This is my code to call the package.
    String amDef = "model.service.DAFService";
    String config = "DAFServiceLocal";
    ApplicationModule am =
    Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
         CallableStatement cstmt = null;
         String stmt = "begin call CP_DAF_PKG.DAF_PROCESS(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?); end; ";
         cstmt = getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(stmt,0);
    But in this case, I am getting
    oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25301: Application module is not a root app module but has no parent
    I understand the reason for this error. I need to call the
    createcallableStatement from the application module that I have above.
    Something like am. (call the package)
    But not sure about any method which does that..
    Please let me know if you know the way to solve it.
    Thanks,
    Venki

  • [Newbie] Which JDeveloper version for latest ADF Mobile?

    Hi.
    I was going to upgrade to JDeveloper 12c, but the download page says "Download JDeveloper 11.1.2.4 to leverage ADF Mobile".
    Does that mean that for the purpose of using ADF Mobile - which is indeed my intension - I should use 11.1.2.4 instead of the latest 12c? Or should I install 12c and will I still have full use of ADF Mobile?
    Thanks.
    Joseph

    Yes, this is correct. At the moment ADF Mobile development is done using 11.1.2.4.0 instead of 12c.
    With the next release of 12c (12.1.3)  we should see adf mobile in 12c version. However, as I'm not an Oracle employee, I can't guarantee this. We have to wait and see what we get.
    Doing your development in 11.1.2.4.0 is already using some features of 12c and an later upgrade to 12c should not be painful.

    I agree. In my opinion Sun has done a horrible job documenting all this madness for the average developer just starting out with this stuff. There is the CLDC, J2ME, Personal Java, J2ME-WTK, MIDP, MIDP-FCS ... maddness. Anyway after sorting through it all for a few days, I think the answer to your question you will need to use Personal Java for WinCE and the Sharp Zaurus, and MIDP for PalmOS for the palm. Jeode seems to be the most common and best Personal Java implementation and it is basically the JDK1.2.2 (or is it 1.1.8) that is designed to run on WinCE and Embeddix (such as Lineo on the Zaurus). You program it just like you would a 1.1.8 application and then you can test it by running pjava.exe which is included in the personal java 3.1 download from Sun. There is also a program called JavaCheck that will ensure that your app will run properly in PersonalJava. As for the Palm, MIDP for PalmOS is a 574K program that installs on your palm device. You then use the J2ME-WTK (wireless toolkit) to build a JAR/JAD file and you use the MIDP API to write the code.

    as a java programmer who want to develop a software for his client.After the java code and compiling it and running it on ur system,how do i package it for the client so that the software would have been in its programme file instead of the client running it through ms dos for him to use the software

    Iam using Advance Installer. U can package ur application using this installer. Create a folder and copy ur lib and jar files into that. follow the installation steps. u can even include jre folder while packaging cos ur application will run even if ur client doesnt have jre installed in his system. well only thru this forum i came to know about Advance installer. u just give the setup file to ur client.
