Developer Toolbox For Dreamweaver CS4

Hello people,
I am searching for Developer Toolbox server side software to add to my Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 sever behaviors. Does any one have idea where I could find/buy this very server side software? please if you do, contact me. I have to have this software to complete my "Social Blog-Network."
Joplateau

Greetings,
May be I have bought some piece of software that has been discontinued; the fact is that Dreamweaver CS4 doesn’t have the server side I wanted or needed. For this reason, I have searched in vain to find and purchase the ASP VBScript server side upload I could use to design image or classified web site.
UltraDev 4 I bought, has this very type of server side or, the server side I am seeking for, if it doesn’t, I could find most of them from the Dreamweaver extension for UltraDev 4 and download them including CDONT MAIL.  Unlike Dreamweaver CS4, it is highly impossible to find any. I have also bought “ASP upload and resize” server side software from DWZone.com but it doesn’t work at all and their support is poor. However, if youhave other idea why I shouldn’t use the UltraDev 4 you let me know but they still have supports and I have used most of them to learn how to use Dreamweaver CS4. .
THanks,
Joplateau.

  • Where can I buy Developer Toolbox for DW CS4?

    Hi,
After searching the entire web for the software called "Developer Toolbox" and was unable to find it a friend finally informed me that I could order or purchase the software from Adobe. Would you please let how I can obtain a copy of the "Developer Toolbox."
    Thanks.

Sorry "WollombiWombat," I want to inform you that soon after posting the message I was able to download “ADDT,” though, I have not yet fully tested this software but I have all confidence that it will do the job/work I got it for. I do not like the so-called “PyroCMS” according to you. I do not think your “PyroCMS” is for me. I have checked it out and came to realization that it will not work at all for me.
If any one need to find out how I was able to download this software from Adobe.com contact me and I will help you. It may state that it is only for the Dreamweaver CS3 update never mind that it also works for Dreamweaver CS4.
    Thanks,

  • Dreamweaver developer toolbox for cs6

Salve a tutti. Quando arrivo alla pagina di download di dreamweaver developer toolbox for cs6 scelgo la ligua e lancio il download. Purtroppo rimane tutto sulla pagina iniziale senza passare al download.
    Sbaglio qualche cosa?

    Hello Giorgio,
in my library I found this answer of Carey Burgess (from Adobe staff):
Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox (ADDT) was discontinued a few years ago. Dreamweaver CS4 is the latest version with which ADDT is compatible.
If there are specific features/workflows from ADDT that you would like to see added to Dreamweaver, please let our development team know directly: http://adobe.ly/DWwish (today: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=12)
If Dreamweaver can't do what you want, one of the experts here can advise you on how to accomplish it (for example, there may be an extension available).
Ok, so please send us your specific question, maybe we can help you.

  • Is separate graphics card needed for Dreamweaver CS4?

My PC (an HP Pavilion a1120n) meets the stated system
requirements for Dreamweaver CS4, except that it has integrated
graphics (max of 128MB) instead of a separate video card. I can
easily upgrade to 4MB of RAM. Could anyone please tell me whether
Dreamweaver will run on my machine, or whether I need to invest in
a new PC. A potential free-lance job rides on this question. Many
    thanks!

To be honest, all you really need is a crappy old computer
    and Notepad.
I'll admit that this may be a really bare-bones way to start,
    though.
In my opinion, the best was would be to get the Adobe
    Creative Suite 4 Web
Premium package. It is a pricey bird, though ($1,699 domestic
    for a full
copy - not upgrade). I'm assuming you want to stick with
    Dreamweaver.

  • Waiting for Dreamweaver CS4, OR migrating to another developer?

    Hi:
Not long time ago when DWMX came out I got very excited. At
last something real came out. I tried Codecharge, some coffeecup
tools and many many other programs that claimed that they could
help us develop websites with less coding and more thinking. But it
was only DW and just DW which could make things right. Golive was
there, trying to compete with DW but it was a joke comparing to DW.
Golive was just a design tool but DW was a real developer tool.
Many great books about DWMX came out and showed us new ways of
making best websites ever. DWMX2004 came out with good improvements
and then DW8 with some good fixes. But most of the major options
where the same as MX. I got worried when Adobe's acquisition came
out and after seeing what happened to DW in version CS3 I really
panicked. It is going to become a newer version of Golive!!!
I'm not the only one who is worried. look at this open letter
    at
    http://stringfoo.com/2007/05/08/an-open-letter-to-adobe/
and you will see even PHP developers (I am a CF developer) loved DW
but the new version is so disappointing that we all believe it
might be the end of DW for developers.
    I ask Adobe people:
Should I migrate to another tool? Should we all forget about
next version of DW (I assume it will be CS4) and go for some tools
that do things 50% less effective than DW and 200% more messy?
Is there any hope that CS4 becomes a new hope for us who love
    "less coding and more ideas?"
Or we are just waiting for a newer version of DW as an
    upgrade for Golive?
Please help us decide and not to wait if there is no hope and
    no help for us developers.
    Thanks

That open letter is full of excellent suggestions. Although I
    don't
agree that Dreamweaver is just becoming a newer version of
    GoLive, I,
too, would have liked to see more done on the server side in
    this
version. The way to influence the direction of CS4 is to
    submit feature
    requests through the Adobe website:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
Now that CS3 is out of the door, the development team will be
    drawing up
its initial plans for the next release. Now is the time to
    tell the team
what you would like to see in CS4.

  • Why a simple php syntax checker extension doesn't exist yet for Dreamweaver CS4 ?

    Hello,
my request is in the subject ;-)
I remember a very useful extension in Golive CS8/9 that did exactly that :
Duplicate from DW the currently edited php/html page to a temp file
Send the temp file to the command line : "/path/to/php -l /path/to/temp/file"
Display the command output ("syntax ok" or "error on line ##") directly INSIDE dreamweaver
It required only that an apache/php package was installed on the developer's computer (using whater Xampp, or Wamp, etc.)
Though you might say to me that I should use a PHP IDE wich is dedicated specifically to that goal, I wonder why a such extension does not exist... as it is a great time saver when rapid syntax checking is required before uploading...
I may be wrong but i can't find anything close to that via google / adobe studio exchange search results...
Should I start to learn the dreamweaver CS4 API extension documention or someone can give me a hint to achieve that ?
    Thanks everyone.

    Hi M.Zografski
I have tried to clear that cache the only thing I keep running into is that the file that is listed doesn't even match the way my dreamweaver loaded onto my computer. I get up to the point of the Adobe file then my next one is shown as Adobe Dreamweaver CS4- I choose this and then there is no file in there showing the language at all. I have a file listed as %AppData% and if I choose this one then it shows Thinstall file and this opens into Adobe AIR- then this has some registry files and another fold as %drive_C% which opens to Adobe then to Dreamweaver then to en_US then Configuration which does contain a file RDSINFO and it appears to be empty. This seems very round about to getting to the cache file and I was unsure of whether or not this was what I was indeed looking for.  Also if I try to search for this WinFileCache with that file name I get no results.
Why is this being so stubborn. I am thinking if I could locate the file then it would all go well
    Thanks
    Teresa

  • Getting started in Developing extensions for Dreamweaver CC

    Hi,
i'm looking for info on how to get started developing extensions for DW CC. Specifically:
    1. guides, tutorials
    2. API reference
What i'm looking to be able to do is, among others:
    1. add elements for inserting into the "insert" panel/menu
    2. add panels.
    3. be able to drag elements from that panel into the design
    4. be able to identify tags in the web page as special tags. like how jquery UI tags are identified and have this little hovering label
    5. be able to develop specialized property views for special tags. like how jquery ui tags have special properties, once i pressed that little hovering label thing.
One question that answering can really help - can say the guides for CS5 be a good starting point, and from there figure out what to do via the extendscript toolkit?
of are there later guides that i can use?
    Regards,
    Gal.

    Hi Gal,
I quote from an very old note in my library:
True, the Adobe documentation on extensions creation is very slim, especially if you are looking at the latest releases. What I think you should do is to look back to the origins. First of all the SDK offers great examples (from 2003):
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=1009962
Also there are two great books: Dreamweaver MX Extensions by Laura Gutman and Building Dreamweaver 4 & UltraDev 4 Extensions by Tom Muck and Ray West. I believe you may read free chapters online in places such Safari library or Google books.
The books are old, you have to understand and adapt for the new versions, but in essence everything stays the same.
... and here another Adobe link:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/dreamweaver/cs/extend/dreamweaver_cs5_extending.pdf (see page 2 "Creating an extension")
On the other hand I'm sure you could ask well known, long-established developers. Some of them roam through our forum.

  • Where can I download CourseBuilder for Dreamweaver CS4?

I downloaded what I thought was the CourseBuilder extension for DW CS4. However, I don't see all the question types that there are supposed to be. The only types that appear are multiple choice, drag and drop, explore, and text entry. I believe there's supposed to also be likert, matching, etc. Where can I download the correct version?

That link is actualy for Dreamweaver 4 (11 years old) when it was a Macromedia product.
It's the only non-defunct Coursebuilder link on the Adobe Exchange.
Coursebuilder has been moved to Adobe Captivate (part of Adobe ELS) AFAIK.
I'm not aware of a link to the (presumably discontinued) CS4 Coursebuilder extension.

  • No Fix for Dreamweaver CS4 not loading?

I am seeing more and more recently that people are experiencing the crashing DW effect. Does anyone have a fix for this, or are we stuck until adobe finally corrects the issue? I have read tons of posts on here and other forums, but nothing seems to fix the problem. All I know, my DW worked fine for a very long time, and all of a sudden it no longer loads. When trying to start the program I get an immediate crash (doesn't let the program even get to the splash screen). Now this happens all the time, and I have tried every fix I have read about so far. I even formatted and started all over from scratch. I only installed adobe products after the format, and let the updater do its thing. Once I did this, DW started crashing all over again. This is definately a problem that needs to be corrected ASAP. I see a current download for CS5 to fix the crashing with that program, but nothing even remote to fixing CS4. Has anyone experience these problems after an adobe update?

Yes, I think it is the installer doing something as well.  Here is what I did.... I have been using the download link from my account on adobe to install dreamweaver cs4. After numerous times of not working I tried install the new cs 5.5 and it works like a charm.  After this I tried installing my old dw 8 and it also works like a charm. So, after 2 versions installed that work, I have come to the conclusion that the cs4 download from adobe has to be the problem. Once I figured this, I called support. Let me tell you, this was the most terrible experience ever. 3 and a half hours of numerous people connecting to me and transfering me back and forth to get no end result. I called again today (1 and a half more hours), another rep connects and does everything the others did to no solution once again. I say look 3 people, 2 supervisors and nothing is fixed, can you just give me another version (cs3, cs5, cs5.5, ANYTHING) so I can get back to work. Basically I am told they are going to escalate and I now have to wait for another call back and go through all the same steps as before. Adobe is seriously lacking in customer support or appreciation for buying these expensive products.
To break it down, 3 people connected...uninstalled, installed, deleted a ton of stuff, reinstalled, created a new user account disabled all start up services and installed dreamweaver and still isnt fixed. They have tried everything, and they cant fix it.... 2 of them even said the installer seems to not be doing something correctly, and the other tried to feed me a line of bull saying dreamweaver cs4 wasnt supporting vista 64??? I had to laugh and explain that I am running fw cs4 and acrobat pro 8 and flash and other progs that work just fine on vista 64 lol.

  • Got lost on Setting up a PHP development environment for Dreamweaver

I am following Dave Powers article on building a dynamic website. I am using Mac 10.6.7 and Dreamweaver CS5. I have downloaded Dave's example file and tried putting it on the desktop that didn't work. Next I tried dragging it into the website folder. That didn't work. Then I tried putting the php_test file into MAMP/hedocs and that didn't work. Where should the file go? I got to 2 green lights on the MAMP and can open the start page. The next step was to put in the time code which I did. It looks fine in design but when I click on "live view" it wants me to save the file. I save it as a php on my desktop. It then tells me I havn't specified a testing server. I have tried several ways of setting up the testing server. I set up the file name as :Local Testing---connect using: Local/Network---for the sever folder I have tried /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/php_test  with web url: http://localhost/php_test/ . And I have tried it with: /Users/checkout/Desktop/php_test.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    She

Don't have the pro version? That's unfortunate. catch-22 for you... can't get any $$ to buy tools for web development until you start getting $$ developing websites and can't develop websites until you get $$ to buy tools for web development.
You have no doubt learned by now through searching (and REsearching) that virtual host is a MAMP Pro feature. If you're too cheap/poor/whatever to afford $59 for MAMP Pro (but you somehow managed to afford the high price of Dreamweaver) then put your site files in MAMP's host location: Applications/MAMP/htdocs
You said in OP that you did something like that... that you put php_test file (presumably php_test.php with contents unknown to forum readers) in the MAMP directory and could not load the page by visiting http://localhost/php_test
That is probably because you did not specify the file extension in the localhost URL like this: http://localhost/php_test.php
How about this... what exact tutorial are you following (provide a URL) and what exact step in the tutorial are you having trouble with? Or try this: instead of php_test use index.php in htdocs directory. For contents of index.php put <?php phpinfo(); ?> then visit http://localhost and see what happens.

  • Where can I find the installer download for Dreamweaver CS4? Need to re-install.

I need to re-install DW CS4 on a new system, but have misplaced the installer. Where can I find this?
Went through tech-support, btw, and was directed here.
    Thanks in advance.

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • CourseBuilder for Adobe Dreamweaver CS4

I posted this question in the Dreamweaver Extensions Forum; but wonder if it should also be posted in a more general location. Please excuse this cross posting.
In CourseBuilder Help > Getting Started > Learning CourseBuilder for Dreamweaver:
    \Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US\Configuration\CourseBuilder\Help\ContextHelp.htm
    I find:
"Learning CourseBuilder for Adobe Dreamweaver CS4"
"The CourseBuilder for Dreamweaver CS4 package contains a variety of resources to help you learn the program quickly and become proficient in creating your own Web page interactions."
"These resources include online help pages that appear in your browser, a tutorial, and a printed book."
Where is this printed book to be found?
"In addition, the CourseBuilder for Dreamweaver CS4 Support Center site is updated regularly."
What is the URL of this site?
I'm am very pleased to see CourseBuilder updated for Dreamweaver CS4, but can only find it included with the eLearning Suite.
Is it also available else where?
I would appreciate any help anyone can give,
    Thank you,
    David J. Hark
    [email protected]

I'm a little frustrated too. I have the web premium suite of CS4 products and I very much need to publish my dreamweaver course in a SCORM package. I also need to use the interactions etc. available in Coursebuilder. It doesn't seem right that I have paid a lot of money for the web premium package but can't get coursebuilder. The coursebuilder version that works in dreamweaver 8 doesn't work in cs4.
RapidIntake has the coursebuilder version for dreamweaver 8 but they don't have one for cs4.
Is there no solution to this problem other than buying the eLearning suite?
