Developer Workplace u0096 installation errors (Configure CAF)

Hi,
I am installing SAP NW 2004s Developer Workplace (SP09) in my laptop and the process always stops when we get to the "Configure CAF" step.
The only error I could find so far is in the sap management console, about JMX adapter, regarding ObjectNameCache.ReplaceEntries.
Did anyone have this issue during installation? Can you suggest any other validation that I should do?

I have good news... I finally find the solution to my problem!
The IBM JDK 1.4.2 for AIX was buggy and required us to patch it to the very latest version.
The version we previously had, was :
java full version "J2RE 1.4.2 IBM AIX 5L for PowerPC (64 bit JVM) build caix64142-20070317 (SR8)"
The version we are now running, is :
java full version "J2RE 1.4.2 IBM AIX 5L for PowerPC (64 bit JVM) build caix64142ifx-20070509 {SR8 SAP ifix: 119818}"

as you see yourself the jload is unable to connect to the database.
Check that your firewall is properly configured and that the SQL Server agent is running.

Problem configuring CAF / GP on NWDI

Hi expert,
I am newbie in using CAF and JDI. Currently I required to configure CAF / GP on NWDI and I have followed the steps recommended in "Installation Cookbook - Configure CAF / FP on NWDI 7.00".
I have also download the archives as listed below and imported them successfully to CMS:

However, as I try to import them to the Development System, the browser response with the status "Import failed" . I look at the log files, and saw something like this:

I have looked through the System SIC -> monitor, I released that there is appropriate version of SCA in the server. Does that explain the following error message ?

Even with that components, I have skipped the following steps
9) import the checked in archives into the Development system (which is unsuccessful)
10) import the checked in archives into the consolidated system
11) configure runtime systems in the track
12) import the development configuration
And I proceed to the steps Chandan has advised:
4. Now go to the NWDS and set the URL of server in Development Configuration perspective as per the doc.
5. Now Login through user id and password from NWDS.
6. select your track and import it.
In NWDS, I went on to locate my component in the tracks and want to create local Web Dynpro DC with the dependencies set. So I right click and select Create New DC... and sync it as Web Dynpro.
Then I encounter the following error:
Development Component Creation completed with some problems.
Reason:
some used DCs are not available locally,
you have to sync used DCs for this project.
I decided to sync the DCs by right click on the Used DCs folder and select Add Used DC...
From there I went on to select sap.com_SAP_JTECHS. As I expand the tree for this, there isn't any component for me to sync.
I cannot proceed if there is missing components and the components:

Using Developer Workplace Without Network Connection

Hi,
I have just installed the NW04s SR2 Developer Workplace.
Without connecting to any network, I tried to start up the J2EE Engine in the SAPMMC but it cannot start up saying
<b>Error occurred: Secure Store lib Dir does not exist
MLEE20-1\sapmnt\J2E\SYS\global\security\lib\tools</b>
When I tried to access the shared drive
MLEE20-1\sapmnt, it says shared drive cannot be accessed.
But if I connect to a network, I am able to access my shared drive
MLEE20-1\sapmnt
My question :
1. Is there any way that I can startup the J2EE without connecting to the network?

I uninstalled the whole Developer Workplace NW04s SR2 from my laptop.
Next, I took out the network cable and login as a local user of the laptop.
This local user is in the Administrator Group.
I start the Developer Workplace SR2 installation and it keeps giving me this error message :

It seems it cannot find the share drive sapmnt although it is created.

mlee20-1\sapmnt it gives me the same error saying the network resource is not available. It cannot recognize mlee20-1.
How do I resolve this?

I have to install NetWeaver Developer Studio on my machine.
For this I searched for an download option in this site.
I got a link for download:
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) Trial Version - Full Java Edition
But on this link there are two options :
1 . Developer Workplace 7.0 SP14SR3 Java Server Evaluation (4.214.608.965 bytes)
2. Developer Studio 7.0 SP14SR3 Java Server Evaluation (542.784.960 bytes)
Now I am confused on which to download.
What are additional features in Developer Workplace.
There are lot of installation guides available from SAP about Developer Studio 7.0 which i found while googling.

Developer Workplace also installs a SAP J2EE engine, where you can test your developed code. This SAP J2EE engine also includes NW Enterprise Portal, NW Knowledge Management and the NW Development Infrastructure and other development tools.

You have not specified which OS you are using.
1. Check whether the profile directory exists with the correct rights (on Windows, user group Administrators with authorization Full Control; on Unix, user <sid>adm, user group sapsys, and directory access rights 755).
2. If you are in doubt, create the directory manually with the correct authorizations.
3. Check that the user you are using is having the administrator rights to do all the things properly.
4. Check that your host name is mapped to the IP address in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
4. Check whether sapmnt and saploc shares are pointing to the correct directory i.e. <drive>\usr\sap

SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 Developer Workplace Installation on Windows 7 64-bit

I am trying to install 32 bit version of NW 7.0 SR3 Developer Workplace (Max DB) on Windows 7 64 computer but the installation fails. Has any one tried this?
Is SAP planning to release 64 bit version of Developer Worlplace?

I assume we are talking about NWDS 70X, because higher NWDS releases are fully supported on win7.
Please note that there is a difference between something is working and whether we can provide support for it.
See the official statement on this in the note:
#1566977 - NWDS on Windows 7
which says:
7.00:
There are successfull installations of NWDS 7.0x running inside and outside of SAP.
Please make sure that the NWDS is running on a supported and correctly configured JDK.
Please acknowledge that while you may successfully install and run NWDS 7.0x on Windows 7 this still is not a supported OS! Running NWDS 7.0x on Windows 7 is at your own risk.

Installation of Developer Workplace fails at Phase 11

I'm trying to install the Developer Workplace 7.01 MaxDB on a Virtual Box instance running Windows XP SP2. The Virtual Machine has 1 GB of RAM and about 8 GB of free disk space. (The aim is to run a local version of the ISA Webshop.
When installing I run into problems in phase 11: Creating Database Instance. The logs supply the following information:

I have just downloaded the latest release of MaxDB, but I understand from the note that this version is not compatible with NW 7.07 without additional steps.
Thanks for the Note, I will try download MaxDDB 7.7 and try again with that version right away.

Workplace Installation Error: DB instance not found

Hello all,
While installing our Developer Workplace SR2 on our workstation, we encountered an error indicating that the database instance is not found.
FYI, we were able to successfully install two without the problem . It appears that during the installation, it was able to access the database - dropping the said instance - but failed in creating the database instance afterward.
Will reward points for helpful answers.

Thanks for the prompt response.
As I reviewed the sequence of the installation, it appears that this could be an installation bug. The sequence does not make sense at all - it drops the database instance and starts a session after that - thus, resulting into the error.
The option I chose during installation is to recreate the default DB instance which is "J2E" that is made available during the MaxDB installation. Thus, it should recreate the "J2E" instance after the dropping of which -- this appears to be missing in the entire sequence.
The Resoultion/Workaround
Well, nothing amazing - but I just chose to make a different DB instance instead of using the existing J2E instance from MaxDB (i.e. DB1). In this approach, it does not have to drop the instance but instead create a NEW instance.
Not a definitive solution but a mere, common sense workaround. But I hope this helps those who has encountered the same issue through the same installation scenario.

Oracle Enterprise Manager Agent deployment (Installation and Configuration) Error

Hello,
I am trying to create an agent on a linux server using Oracle Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.3. The user is created with root privilege on the server, by change /etc/sudoers entry username the same as the root entry. After that I tried to add host target by clicking Setup->Add Target->Add target Manually->Add Host Targets in the Oracle Enterprise Manager.
In the Add Target view: I clicked on add, then I entry host and platform information. After that I click next. Then I provided the Linux x86-64 : Installation Details for
Installation Base Directory, Instance Directory, Name Credential ... then click next. then click Deploy Agent.
In the Add Host Status view: stages Initialization and Remote Prerequisite Check successfully passed, but in the stage Agent Deployment, it failed in the Installation and Configuration phrase of the Agent Deployment stage.

Share the output of the command. I am suspecting this is a know issue (Bug 17300008) but i will wait for your output. Also if you can open an SR with oracle support to track this issue and its resolution. "

Archives are missing from the Software Library. Unable to determine the URL for downloading the update. The update might not have come from Oracle Enterprise Manager Store.
For each update with missing archives, emcli import_update can be used with a -force option to re-upload the archives to the Software Library.

We have done the following, but we aren't able to resolve this issue. Thank you for your help!

On Enterprise Manager server [nsn175-105], we did the following:
1. we modified /etc/exports to include this line: /export *(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
we start nfs service by executing command “service nfs start”.
On Management Agent server (nsn175-89), we verified that we are able to mount /export directory of EM server.
On Management Agent server, we started firefox browser and were able to run successfully https://nsn175-105.us.oracle.com:4904/empbs/genwallet
After making this change, we ran agent deployment again. We encountered the same error as shown above.
“You can fix the software library or you can download the agent bits in offline mode.”
For fixing the software library, select Setup->Provision and Patching->Offline Patching, then select Offline Patching radio button, download: https://updates.oracle.com/download/em_catalog.zip. Next upload this zip file.

We are not sure what agent bits are. Would you please explain this and provide procedure how we can download this?
(Here I have attempted to fix the software library, but I am new to Enterprise Manager and not sure how to interpret this).

I am installing "SAP Netweaver 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace". Got the below error :
CJS-30005 Cannot change SAPDrive for system JP1 from D: to C:: share saploc exists.
ERROR 2007-03-08 09:35:06
FCO-00011 The step createFirstSystemDirectories with step key |NW_Workplace|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_Onehost|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_Onehost_System|ind|ind|ind|ind|1|0|NW_System|ind|ind|ind|ind|6|0|createFirstSystemDirectories was executed with status ERROR .
Can anybody know the reason for this. and how to resolve this error.
