DHTML List(Image)

I have created a DHTML List(Image) and when I click on the Image drop down, I do not see any images to choose from.
I imported a image and set the logo = #APP_IMAGES#GH_flush_left.gif.
This works for the logo.
When I try this for the DHTML List and place #APP_IMAGES#GH_flush_left.gif
or #WORKSPACE_IMAGE#GH_flush_left.gif it does not display anything - blank button (no red X).
I really want to use the OS images, but can not get that to work either. I thought I found an entry about a template bug, but I can not find that entry again.

I was having the same problem that you are with the image and the DHTML List(image) template. Since I do not have a lot of experience with APEX, I was not understanding where the template was or exactly how to fix it. However, after reading the site I provide below, I understand what the guys that provided responses to your post were saying.

Dear all -
I wonder if anyone can help with this DHTML drop-down menu query:
We use hierarchical menus implemented as DHTML Lists (Image) with Sublists. When some of the items are hidden through authorization, the wrong headers appear for the menus.
For example:
Menu
  Item 1
    Subitem 1 of Item 1
    Subitem 2 of Item 1
  Item 2
    Subitem 1 of Item 2
    Subitem 2 of Item 2
Say Item 1 and its subitems are all hidden through authorization controls. The heading for Item 2 then appears as 'Subitem 2 of Item 1' instead of 'Menu'.

Carl - in the example on htmldb.oracle.com, in Menu2 I'm hiding all the elements in Category 1 (parent and children), although not the 'grandparent' (Menu2).
I'm therefore still expecting the menu title to be 'Menu2', because that's Category 2's parent.
It doesn't appear to be an issue with the sequence of the items, because I've changed all those about and still got the same problem.
To be more specific, again using the htmldb.oracle.com example, in Menu2 we have:
Menu2
  Category 1 (Hidden)
    Item 1 of Category 1 (Hidden)
    Item 2 of Category 1 (Hidden)
    Item 3 of Category 1 (Hidden)
    Item 4 of Category 1 (Hidden)

Create dynamic list (DHTML list) with parent child

Hi,
I am new to APEX.
I have manually created DHTML list using lists in APEX. I want to create it dynamically using tables.
I tried but not worked for me.
i choose DHTML list because i want it in (+) sign when click on it all sub list entries should be displayed
and also wanted to create something like when user click on one particular sub entry it should be saved in database
with other fields of table.
Was just wondering if any one came across this sort of query or design.

I tried several different approaches and none worked untill suddenly, the list image is all over the place. I don't want it in my spry horizontal menu/sub menus, just the paragraphs in my body/main content.

Too many <ul> tags in your HTML lists. You only need one set of <ul> tags like so:

Problem: List images / Palm / Forte

Are there any issues with creating JAR files that contain PNG files with Forte?
I cannot seem to get images to display in a List on a Palm. With the Forte debugger, I am able to see that the Image is found. No exceptions are throw when I try to get a handle on the PNG.
When it comes to displaying the image, the default list icon is displayed instead.
My image is a black and white, 10x10 PNG image. It is 1kb in size.
Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, how did you solve it?

Not that I know of. With the MIDP 1.0 for PalmOS, there is a restriction of the maximum image file size of 64 kbytes for a PNG image file.
Can you check the Preferences settings on the "Java HQ" AMS application? There is a setting for the color for the MIDP for Palm OS 1.0 environment, that should state black and white since your PNG image is black and white.
Can I assume that you are using the Image.createImage() method in your code and that the PNG file is placed correctly in the JAR file?

List image adjustments feature?

My name is Łukasz Osipiuk. I recently become a PS Lightroom 3 user and I am new to this forum. Hello everyone.
I have a short question.
I was looking for a feature of Lightroom which would allow me to see the list of all adjustem that
were made to an image (and maybe selectively remove some of these adjustments from image).
Is it possible or "Photo has Develop adjustmets" marker is all that is available?

I know history panel.
The problem with it is that it is not permanent.
And than multiple changes of one parameter result in multiple entries in history panel.
Even changes which are actualy removing adjustment are visible in history panel which makes it hard to read, and virtually impossible to determine
if there are still some adjustments made to original image.

Hi,
No, this is not possible "straight off the bat". The ABAP printer function does not print the GuiXT listimages, unfortunately.
A possible solution (but not a simple one) would be to offer an additional pushbutton in the list display that starts an InputScript. In this InputScript, you then generate an html file containing the list info + images, and use our "Viewer" component to display or print the list.

Keyword list image count is greater than metada keyword image count.

How do you get the image counts to be the same? I have looked through the images of the offending keywords and there are no check marks against other keywords. Also above the film strip the total of all images selected is less than the total images. This has been an upgrade from Elements 10 catalog. Thanks.

Thank you, but I need to start with a "clean slate" or at least a correct one. So I have persevered and found a solution, which may seem lengthy, but beats rebuilding the keyword structure image by image. I had numbers against parent keywords (should be zero) and incorrect numbers against child keywords, not all, but some cases of each. Dealing with the child keywords within a parent first and then the parent, the procedure I used was:-
1. Select child keyword
2. Select all
3. Create collection using keyword name for clarity
Repeat steps 1-3 for all child keywords within the parent keyword
4. Delete the parent keyword
5. Recreate the parent keyword
6. Recreate all child keywords within the parent keyword
7. Select a collection
8. Select all
9. Select the appropriate keyword and drag to an image
Repeat steps 7-9 for remaining collections
It appears to work and all the unaffected keywords are showing in each image!!!
The engineer in me is satisfied!

Image Drop down list

I am trying to create a pull down list with images and i know i have to change the List template to Pull Down Menu with image.
But when i try to edit the list that i have created i do not find the option to change the List Template.

List Of Values In Region Button Position

Hi,
I have a list of values, which are set as a 'DHTML List (Image) with Sublist'. I have a requirement for that to be positioned in a button position within a reqion (eg, #DEFAULT#).
Can this be done, and if so how do I do it.

Hi Rana,
When you create a region, and then add buttons to that region, you can put the button in a region posistion (eg, Cancel, Next, Previous etc) or amongst the region items.
I want to put a list with a drop down select menu amongst the regions pre-defined positions

Images with DHTML Tree items

I have tried everything I could think of, and whatever I found by searching this forum, to place an image before the text of an item in a DHTML Tree.
Finally, I have what I want.
First, to have an image appear before the top-level tree item I followed Carl's suggestion to use a modified template (in my case, a modified copy of the DHTML Tree template) which has the #IMAGE_PREFIX# entry replaced with #IMAGE#.
Second, to have an image appear before each second-level tree item I prefixed the item name with an "<img ..." string with the full path to the image file I want to appear.
I have a feeling there is a better, more "generic" way to accomplish this, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
It would be sooooo much more productive for me to have written documentation for this, but thank goodness for this forum. Without it I would have gotten exactly nowhere. So many things I attempt to do in APEX seem to be "rites of passage".

with help text the only difference is your not

Understood, except I do not know where to load the onmouseover= code.. The dhtml list object does not have the same HTML Form Element Attributes property that other APEX style controls have.. I will attempt to use the User Defined attributes and see if that works..

Loading images in List as ImageIcon causes OutOfMemoryError.

I am trying to figure out why the bit of code below is causing such a memory problem. I have the JRE starting up with 256MB of ram (got 2GB on system). I am loading 200K images at most, and after 3 or so images, I am getting lots of OutOfMemory exceptions. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. However, my situation is a little different. I preload up to 100 images first, then rapidly display them on screen like a lottery number. After loading the first 200K image, I get an OutOfMemoryError which is VERY odd to me. I originaly was loading 2MB images and resizing them to smaller size using BufferedImage and such. But that was giving me the problems. So I set Xmx256M, and resized the images in photoshop, and STILL I get memory problems and the app wont run. It is very odd. It's as if anything larger than 64K images can't be loaded using ImageIcon. But I know I've loaded them before as well.
So I guess the thing is, what is the right way to load many images into memory. Maybe ImageIcon is not the right way.

Hi we want to have an iview that list images but images link, when you click on the image you go to a internal or external link, that is very normally in web:

Newly created Image not listed via REST API

I have created a image in azure console .Its created successfully and i could see the created image under "Image" tab in console.Also, the image created with the name appending current date, it was not before.But when I am trying to list images by

From the error, your request parameter was incorrect. I guess your image name may be wrong. How did you write your Image name and url? I suggest you don't forget the '.VHD'. Also,if you use the
VMImageName element which is only available using version 2014-02-01 or higher

XML scrolling thumbnail, image loader, & Buttons [halfway works]

Intro:
I started a flash-based website a few years ago. Back in 2006 I was able to get a xml scrolling thumbnail, image loader to work without a glitch.
For numerous reasons I had to put the project on hold until now. [one was that my 30 day trial of flash expired and only recently was I able to purchase the Adobe Web Suite CS4 as well as a new computer which could run the apps.]
Last Friday saw a bump in the road in the development of my site as two, rather straightforward task, turned into something short of a nightmare as I have been unable to get past these two, seemingly, relatively simple task.
I have posted in 4 other flash forums the issues, in detail, that I am facing - and have quite a bit of interest/views in the topic as the numbers suggest - yet no response/answer as of yet. [Which confirms other messages I have seen which seem to state that working with buttons has become increasingly difficult with the newer version of flash - something Im a bit surprised with actually from Adobe. - I would have thought there would be a palette where you could set parameters...]

Before getting into the two questions I have, I would like to post an image of the site as it looks whenever an swf file is saved out, as well as a piece of the timeline in the back for reference.
Issue #1
As of now when the swf file is saved out you get exactly what you see above:
a: A scrolling thumbnail
b: ...which loads a large image when clicked on it - PEFECT...
BUT...
1a: I need for the buttons to load in this action, not for it to just load on its own.
[i.e., the silk_paintings gallery is what is open, so I need the "silk_paintings" button to call up this action]
note: Initially I had attacked this problem by taking out the actions layer you see above and applying it directly to the individual buttons with some crude MouseEvent Listener/Handerls... that did not work - at all.
Im sure it may be "easier" to make an array out of it, but with my coding level it may be "easier" to apply it to the buttons.
1b: How I currently see it, I would take the xml-list and duplicate it for the number of galleries I have.
[I would then re-name the xml-list to reflect the name of the galleries they are to represent, i.e. "silk_paintings"]
[also, I would have to rename the folders to "thumbnails1,2,3, etc., & "images 1,2,3, etc"
From there I would duplicate the actions and paste it into the buttons, changing the xml-list name to that of "silk_paintings", etc., as well as write in the MouseEvent listener Handler to make it work. [ah, ha, but what is that magic phrase, I have tried to implement various code from other tutorials, and all in vein.]
Issue #2
At this point I would be tickled pink just to get this to basic function to work.
However, once the buttons are working and calling up the xml, etc., then I need the buttons to stay on the semi-transparent blue color it is whenever in the 'hit' state. [note: NOT pictured above.]
With the way the buttons are currently set up, and with wanting to use scripting to get them to interact with the thumbnail gallery, it will have to be some miraculous code to tell that button what color to stay as whenever its clicked, and of course it going back to white when another button is clicked.
Conclusion:
Since this is an Adobe Forum I would like to make a few additional statements in hopes that the developers, etc. may take heed.
Adobes products are not cheap, and when I went to purchase the websuite I went in as a designer needing a program as not to need to program.
I understand the flexibility that coding gives, but something as simple as linking buttons should not be in the realms of rocket science. [yes, for many its not...but my brain just does not operate that route despite all the tutorials thrown at me.]
Again, it would seem that there would be a button panel where you could drag options like scrolling thumbnail slider, loader, and then parameters would come up. [much like Apples iWeb. - but before the argument of one being pro and the other for non-pros, I see it differently. Software should not be the limiting factor in how flexible you can design, or rather ones lack of programming shouldnt be. With all the talented, and I say this in all humility and honesty, programmers working for Adobe, Im sure something could be programmed like what Im asking for.]
note: Director is a good example, back in 1997 I knew nothing of multimedia and in one week I had assembled a portfolio, clicking buttons, speech, movies, and all. - and no, I dont have the money to buy more software!
At this moment I am at the mercy of someone who reads code like its a nighttime tale they are telling their kids, and who can see the exact issue I have and can share the appropriate, correct code. [as I have noticed, it has to be on target - naturally - but this target changes with just a slight change in the design.]

The issues with the buttons calling up the scrolling thumbnail panel have been resolved, as well as keeping the buttons in their hit state once clicked, thanks to Rob.
Those that have been following this thread, or stumble upon it in their searches later, may appreciate to see the final solution to this particular issue.

Alas, it would be nice if future versions of flash had a more direct, flexible, user friendly method for creating navigation.
[We may see development beyond the flash ads which everyone seems to loathe... and more creativity with flash in terms of games, web interactivity, & animation.
Below are 2 sets of code:
a] the first is located within the first frame of the first button, and has some extra variables in it that the additional buttons call upon...
b] the second is the code applied to every other button.

Of note is the change to how the movie clips are measured... this change in and of itself has really helped to make the thumbnail panels operation more efficient.
