Diagram import

Hello!
How can I import UML diagram into the JDeveloper project from Oracle Designer 6.0?
Is it possible?
Thank you.

Hi
Currently you cannot import any of the Designer diagrams into JDeveloper. Designer does not support any UML diagrams.
If you are using another UML tool - such as Together or Rational - that supports export using the UML XMI 1.3 standard, you can import Class diagrams into JDeveloper in that format.
Hope this helps

  • Corrupt image formatting when creating pdf from embedded visio image in MS word

Hello, Using Adobe Acrobat 9 standard and trying to create a PDF file from an MS word (version 2003) document.  PDF file created is fine except for an image (embedded visio diagram imported into word).  When created in PDF, the image is missing many of the diagram labels, and other text boxes are in the wrong font and wrong location.  I don't know if it's my Adobe Acrobat or MS Word settings that need to be updated.
    thanks, NB

    Dear fellows,
the problem is still present.  My system:Windows 7 32-Bit Prof, MS Office 2010 Prof, Acrobat X Pro 10.1.1, Vision 2010 Prof, all updates installed.
Problem #1: Even the latest Acrobat X 10.1.1 version causes Visio 2010 to start with error messages, origin: the Acrobat Add-In.  Therefore I de-activated the Acrobat Add-In, again, as in the past.
As I design grafics with Visio 2010, I mark them in the active Visio window, copy the marked parts and then insert them into my Word-Document.  So far, so good and as I want it.
The (still present) problem: I can produce a PDF file using the "save as Adobe PDF", but the Visio drawing is incomplete and corrupt.  E.g. arrows as line endings have disappeared.
PS: But using Adobes PDF printer sets the embedded Visio drawing correctly!  But using the printer one looses some features of the "save as Adobe PDF" command.
    Well, probably one day ...

  • Trying to import .dmd file and want to see the logical & physical diagram

Can some one guide me how to import a .dmd file which i got from client. In my local machine i downloaded datamodeller and installed.
When i am trying to import the same, i am not able to see any logical or physical relationship diagram.
    Thanks inadvance..

    Hi,
As well as the .dmd file, the folder containing the .dmd file should also contain a folder with the same name - e.g. MyModel.dmd plus folder MyModel.
If you've only got the .dmd file, you will need to get the associated folder and all its contents as well - the most convenient way is to get your client to use Winzip to zip up the .dmd file and its companion folder.
You can then unzip it and open the .dmd file in Data Modeler, using Open on the File menu.
The Logical and Relational diagrams should then be shown on the Logical and Relational tabs in Data Modeler.

  • Symbols used in VISIO diagram are not shown when imported to FrameMaker 8.0

I have FrameMaker 8.0 and when importing a visio diagram that includes a symbol, the symbol is not shown in the FrameMaker document correctly. It either is shown as a small box or as a question mark.
Is there a way to work around this issue?

    > These symbols are availabe in FM when you insert equations.
Just because the symbols are available in FM in one font doesn't mean
they're available in FM in the font Visio used. This is why Art and
Sheila are asking you about fonts, specifically, whether the font used
in Visio is also available to Framemaker.
Beyond that, OLE is not a stable way to get graphics into Frame (or any
    other app, really).
BTW, a German sharp s (ß) is not the same as a beta (β) (which probably
won't make it through NNTP and the forum). They look close, but they're
    quite different.

  • How to import a package in UML Class diagram

    Hi all,
I am new to use Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 and trying to do a project.
In the class diagram, I have to import java.util.Observable (for my Model)and java.util.Observer classes(for my View). How can I do this?
When I searched the forums, I saw a post and what I understood is, one should create a java package and then util package inside the java package. Now, create Observable class and drag it into util package in the Projects window.
If I do this, the source code generator is generating a new java.util.Observable class in a new java.util.package. But, I want to use the core java.util package.
    I appreciate any help.
    regards,
    varma.

You know man, The first time that I tried to do this, it didnt update my diagram then I read some posts and I try to update the diagram, [[rigth-click on the project's folder then you go to Tool and select Update Model from Source]], but it caused an exception then I create another project and it worked fine, so when I update my source my diagram update at the same time, I dont know why it didnt work on the other project, but I know if the project it is not synchronized with the source it will not work rigth.
Just try to update the diagram going in to Tool select Update Model from Source, if it generets an exception, try create another project and do the same thing from the begging.
Remember to select Tool on the menu, that is showed when you rigth-click on the folder of the project on the File Palet.
    Great Hug man.

  • Newly created FKs not imported in DB diagram

    Hi there
I am using database diagrams functionality in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 to document an existing Oracle 10g database. I am finding it great, but I am having some problems with FKs.
    What I did:
1 - I created a connection to the schema I want to import the tables from.
    2 - I created a new DB diagram.
3 - In the connections navigator, I opened the tables node in my database connection and dragged a few tables into the diagram.
4 - I realised that a couple FKs were missing (they were physically missing in the DB). So I created them in the DB.
5 - At this point, I would guess that selecting Refresh From [dbconnection] on the respective offline database table in the apps navigator would import those new FKs into the diagram, but that didn't happen. To solve it, I had to restart JDeveloper and then it correctly identified and imported the missing FKs.
Am I missing something? Why did I have to restart JDev?
    Thanks
    Luis

    Hi Jaap,
    thanks for your reply...
Sorry for being a little unclear ...
I have followed the instrunctions in the on-line help of OWB , and :
    1) have imported four code tables into a source module . The tables are in an Oracle RDBMS 10g .
2)I have created manually a table - using the OWB client tool - which consisted of some of the columns found in the four tables .
3)I have inserted a Join Operator in order to correlate the four table columns with the columns of the target module.
4)I have defined the Join condition of the the four table columns. In my first post , unintenionally I have written that I removed the Join Operator. I meant the Join Condition in order to make sure that the join condition isn't the reason that the records are not inserted....
5)I have validated and generated the mapping without any errors - not even warnings.
6)I have selected Project->Deployment Manager and I selected the OWB_RUN user - which is the Runtime Repository owner.
7)I have selected the objects to deploy - the mapping , the one table I created in the target module. The deployment has succedded , and the table was created but no records are found in it.
Now , is there a possibility that this problem is caused by absence of the privileges to insert the rows...?
How can I check that the source tables are filled on the registered location of your source module?
    Another basic question...
I have created a Runtime Repository owner - called owb_run- using the Runtime Repository Assistant . I use this user in order to deploy the mapping and the new table. I want -and it is created- that table in another schema (user his_dw) - even another database in the same server. Should I run the Runtime Repository owner in this schema (his_dw)???
    Thanks , again a lot

    Following a hands-on exercise in the Oracle JDeveloper 10g Handbook (pages 343 - 345):
-- Create new application workspace, say HRApp, using default Web Application Template.
-- Edit Model project properties to create new library with classpath that points to business domain objects in a project folder from a different workspace.
-- Import the Business Components from the other project's folder, say "businessdomain.xml".

We have not been able to reproduce the exact same error, there would be a problem if we were trying to write to the library file, as those objects are read only, of course. Can you tell me, the entity object that you are referencing, has it ever appeared on a diagram? An easy way to tell, if you don't know is by looking at its XML file and see if it has an ID=some long string entry.

  • JDeveloper, export/import of UML diagrams

    Hi All,
We (Oracle Poland) are looking for a tool/extension enabling import of UML diagrams (activity, use-case) into JDeveloper.
We are particularly interested in exchanging information between JDeveloper and Sybase PowerDesigner.
I appreciate very much every information about such solutions.
    Regards,
    Joanna

To import a UML diagram in JDeveloper, create a XMI of the UML diagram to be imported.
    -Select File>New
-Select General>Diagrams>UML Class Diagrams from XMI Import

  • Import pictures to block diagram

    Hi,
I am having trouble figuring out how to import usable pictures for labview, when i insert the picture it only shows up in the front panel. I can not edit it, or use it in anyway. I need the picture to show up in the  block diagram too so i can work with it.
    Thanks

Read your PNG file into a picture indicator using the following simple code.
Now you can right-click the image terminal and turn it into a diagram constant. (Or create an indicator on the pink "image data" wire and turn it into a constant.

  • Import or Convert Visio database diagram for SQL Developer Data Modeling

    Hi,
Would you please advise on how it would be possible to convert an existing Visio 2007 ERD diagram for import into SQL Developer Data Modeling?
I have tried to save the model as XML Stencil, Template and Drawing, but could not successfully import it into SQL Developer Data Modeling.
    Appreciate your input on this!
    Cheers!

Those are just drawing formats and don't contain any useful information about the datamodel. If you can generate ddl from the diagram you can import that, but visio is really just a drawing tool with partial data modeling addins.

  • Importing Visio diagrams into Framemaker

Hi all, I am considering using framemaker9 as my main documentation tool, and using visio2003 as my diagramming tool.
As such, I will be importing the visio diagrams into framemaker by reference so that any mods to the visio diagrams will be automatically reflected in the framemaker document.
    The questions I have is:
    1. Which file format is the best to use for the importing? Should I save the visio diagrams in PDF or SVG format? I would prefer a format which provide the most resolution.
    2. When I have more than 1 page in a visio file, I noticed that there is no way for me to choose which page to be imported when importing in SVG format. However, with PDF, a dialog box would pop up to allow me to select which page in the visio file to be imported. Is this a bug in framemaker or have I missed some step in the process of importing SVG file?
    3. When importing some graphics/diagrams into an anchor frame, is there a way to make the imported graphics/diagrams automatically adjust its size to fit into the anchored frame area? If so, what are the steps?
    TIA
BTW, I am just an engineer trying to document my work.

    framethrower,
A PDF might be the most portable and reliable option for rendering; however, I find PDF generation to be a bit cumbersome when there are many images to deal with. I use Visio frequently and have had good success using the WMF format. All vector qualities of the original image are maintained and it looks OK on the screen. Naturally, it prints perfectly. I also like how the final image size automatically adjusts to the exact dimensions of the artwork, regardless of the original canvas size. Some caveats:
    - WMF is Windows only
    - Fonts are not embedded. If you distribute the image in any format besides a PDF, the target computer will need to have any fonts that you used.
Otherwise, I'd suggest it as an option. I have a macro set up in Visio that saves a copy of an image as WMF, so I can refresh my WMF version with a click. I've pasted the basic macro text below. Note that this macro also saves a PNG version as well. It may be possible to adjust it to save a PDF version, I'm not sure. In any case, over the long haul, it saves much time over doing the manual Save As.
    Russ
    Sub Save_as_PNG_WMF()
        Dim path As String
        Dim newpath As String
        Dim length As Integer
        ' Get the document path
        path = Application.ActiveWindow.Document.FullName
' get the length of the path, to be used for truncation
        length = Len(path)
' change our filename to have a wmf extension
        newpath = Left(path, length - 4)
        newpath = newpath + ".wmf"
        ' save the wmf
        Application.ActiveWindow.Page.Export newpath
' do the same for png
        newpath = Left(path, length - 4)
        newpath = newpath + ".png"
        Application.ActiveWindow.Page.Export newpath
    End Sub

  • Importing VISIO diagram into SOLMAN 4.0

    Hi,
Kindly let me know if <b>SOLMAN 4.0</b> has provision <b>to import a visio flow diagram/ any flow chart</b> in the Business Blueprint node or anywhere else. If so how can we bring in diagrams or what is the option which would help in importing the same so as to help in bringing out a better blue print document.
    Your valid comments are awaited....
    Thanks & Regards,
    Banu

    Hi Andy,
The VISIO document type is not a standard one. So we need to customize the document type with the VISIO document type extension .VSD.
1)In the Project standards, you can include the documentation type.
2)Since VISIO is not a standard documentation type customize the new document type by including it as say ZVSD, note that the file extension to be included is .vsd.
3)Move the defined document type & attributes(like if its blue print relevant) to the project structure so that you can import VISIO files into the necessary node.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Banu
