Can I use one itunes account for multiple users and multiple devices?

The iTunes EULA, as I understand it (I'm not an attorney )for Apps is basically that one person can use an App multiple devices, or multiple people can use an App one device..so one to many or many to one, but not many to many....

  • Lion Server Mobile accounts for Macbook users

    Hi All,
I'm looking for a 'Best Practice' when setting up mobile accounts for Macbook users who just want to be able to use their machine away from the office.
We DON'T want to sync anything, just create a mobile account on the Mac (a bit like a domain profile on a PC).
I understand that this can be configured through workgroup manager in preferences for either the machine or the user account.
What should the mobility settings be set to? Obviously the Account creation box is ticked but what should the 'Create home using' settings be ?
    Thanks Trappers

I figured out how to delete the user from the command line.
I used Remote Desktop to send as Root: dscl . -delete /Users/userID
Where userID is the user's shortname.
You could also log in locally and use the terminal to send:
    sudo dscl . -delete /Users/userID

  • I want to secure my email account for other users of the i-pad. Is this possible?

I want to secure my e-mail account for other users of the i-pad....
    Is this possible???

    no.
The only way is if you use a webmail app - not the included e-mail app - so you can password protect it online.
The iPad is meant to be a single user device so it has no protocols to partition off any part of it (beyond what restrictions allow)

    Hello.
I believe that you can try this:
    Router# configure terminal
    Router (config)# password encryption aes
Router (config)# crypto ipsec client ezvpn ezvpn1
    Router (config-crypto-ezvpn)# username server_1 password 0 blue
if you are using easy vpn.

  • Sharing Music: using one iTunes account for two users on one MacBook Air

I'm trying to set up my parents on their new MacBook Air and I have set up an account for each of them. To keep their music collection simple & compact I want them both to use one iTunes account on the one machine. Can two separate users work off the same iTunes account on the one machine?
I have tried the Home Sharing function but this seems to be for separate machines rather than accounts.
I have also tried putting the music into a shared folder but this hasn't worked properly for me as the secondary account is able to purchase (but not download) the music correctly from iTunes.
    Any help appreciated. Thank you.

  • Setting up accounts for multiple users

Suggestions for allowing multiple users to access one account to avoid having to reimburse folks for every download on their work iPads?

short answer, no. Mail.app does not have support within itself for multiple user accounts. It displays the messages from the mailboxes of the user that is currently logged in. so if you want multiple people to read their mail on the same mac without being able to read other users' mail, you will need to set up multiple user accounts. alternatively, use another client. i think thunderbird supports multiple mail accounts under the same user account. hope this helps.

  • Can we assign account for anonymous user

    Hi,
Is this possible to assign account for the anonymous user using idoc script or by any rule concept.??
    Thanks,
    Abhijit

There is no straightforward out of the box way to do this.
Accounts are instrinsically linked directly to a user and not a role. There is a DefaultNetworkAccounts config variable but this only applies to users who have logged in.
    Two options are
    1) a Java filter on 'alterUserCredentials' there is an example of this in the HowToComponents SecurityFilter
    2) User Credential Mapping (Not used this on 11g)
Go to Administration > Credential Maps
Create a new map with a Map Identifier of myMap
Add the following lines to the map
    |#all|, %%
    @|#all|, @%%
    guest, @your_account(R)
Add the following to config.cfg and restart
    ExternalCredentialsMap=myMap
This should pull through all other existing roles/accounts and for guests it should give them R permissions to your_account
Not tested it but from memory this should work
    Enjoy

  • Admin and User Accounts for Single User

I am the only user of my iMac. According to the article I found below, I should create a User Account for myself and use that one for my daily work. Is this correct?
"Don't use the administration account for anything other than setting up the machine and applications or changing "permanent" settings (if you want to, say, change network settings as a normal user you'll be prompted for the admin password, and since you'll do configuration changes less and less often as time progresses, this isn't a problem)."

Aha! It would appear that this is exactly the sort of thing that using a non-admin account would normally protect you from.
..."yet all applications are available to me in Finder > Applications"...
That's good news. So I wonder where the "Applications" folder has been moved to... The folder that is opened when "Finder" is activated is something that can be changed through the "Finder" > "Preferences" menu under "General". I suspect that it is either "Home" or "Documents", so that when you refer to "Finder > Applications", the path is actually either "Macintosh HD" > "Users" > "Applications", or else "Macintosh HD" > "Users" > "Documents" > "Applications".
To put things back, it might be easier to temporarily remove any "Parental Controls" from your current account and check the "Allow user to administer this computer" check box.
Then rename the "Macintosh HD" > "Applications" folder (the one with only "iTunes") to something else, eg "Applications-temp". After that, open a second window and drag the folder you refer to as "Finder > Applications" to where it belongs in the "Macintosh HD" window.
Now check the versions of "iTunes.app" in the "Applications" and "Applications-temp" folder - one way to do this is to click on the iTunes icon once and change the "Finder" window to "Column View" ("View" > "As Columns", or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘3). The version number should be displayed in the "Preview" panel. Take the older version (lower version number), and throw it away. If necessary, drag the newer version into the "Macintosh HD" > "Applications" folder.
Now, open "Macintosh HD" > "Applications" > "Utilities" > "Disk Utility.app", select your hard drive, and click the "Repair Disk Permissions" button (not the "Repair Disk" button). This might take a few minutes.
Hopefully that will do it, and you can go back and make the account a non-admin again.
I should mention that with some third pary apps, if they were originally installed while the "Applications" folder had been moved, they may complain if their location is changed. It might be necessary to reinstall those, although it will likely depend on a case to case basis.

  • Accounting for anyconnect users

    hi,
is  it possible to do accounting for normal anyconnect users? i.e.  accouting for anyone who is logged on to the network using anyconnect?

    Hi,
Check  out VPNTTG (VPN Tunnel Traffic Grapher) is a software for SNMP  monitoring and measuring the traffic load for IPsec  (Site-to-Site,  Remote Access) and SSL (With Client, Clientless) VPN  tunnels on a Cisco  ASA. It allows the user to see traffic load on a VPN  tunnel over time  in graphical form.
Advantage of VPNTTG over other SNMP based monitoring software's is   following: Other (commonly used) software's are working with static OID   numbers, i.e. whenever tunnel disconnects and reconnects, it gets   assigned a new OID number. This means that the historical data,  gathered  on the connection, is lost each time. However, VPNTTG works  with VPN  peer's IP address and it stores for each VPN tunnel  historical  monitoring data into the Database.
For more information about VPNTTG please visit www.vpnttg.com

  • Adding a mail account for second user

I am the administrator on this imac. I use mac mail and have a mobileme account as well. I have another user on the computer, who has just signed up for mobile me, and wants to retrive her mail from the imac when logged into her account. How do I set up mac mail on the imac, so the app in her doc only reflects her email account? If I add her mobileme address to accounts in mail preferences on the imac, her mail is showing up in my mail page? How can I get the mail app to launch in her account on the imac, and keep it separate from mine? Thanks.

As long as you are logged into her user account on the iMac, then creating accounts in the Mail app should only be her mail.

  • How  to Restrict G/L Accounts for One  User

    Hi All,
I have to restrict the G/L Account when doing FI Postings  for  some particular Users ...
Ex 100000 Is G/L to be Posted In  XXXX Plant.
100001 Is G/L to be Posted in  YYYY  Plant
I have to give an Authorization  to User in XXXX Plant  to Post only  in 100000 G/L .
Plz Suggest me at which level I can restrict the Postings ..
    Regards,
    Sriram.

How about flagging the accounts as "Automatically posted only" and then let customizing take care of the ability to post to the accounts (automatic account determination)?
That is, if that works for these specific accounts.
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Creating a default User account for new users

Today I tried creating a default setting for and account that could be used for all new users.  I did web searches after web serches and not luck.  In the old systems it was simple, but Mavericks made it difficult.  But after much hair pulling and putting several suggestions together it is just as simple as it was before.
Step 1 Create a new user account
Step 2 log on to that account and set it up totally, that means background picture, preferences, dock, everything
Step 3 click on the home incon in a finder window then go to Finder view select view options and at the bottom check show library
Step 4 go to HD>system library>user templates, you will need to select the file, Command I for info, unlock the lock, click + at bottom select your admin account, give youself read write permissions, go click on the folder you wish/need to change and get info and repeat the step above for each folder.
Step 5 replace the library folder and any other you wish to change with the one from the new account
Step 6 you can also place any documents on the desktop or document folder and replace them
Step 7 create a new user account and verify that the settings and dock are correct.
This takes about 5 minutes or so and is much easier for the non pro

I don't always understand how things can be different from one computer to the other running the same systems and following the same steps but I have 2 iMac's and the steps above for the desktop picture worked on one but not on the other, go figure.  So as a fix the default picture was named Wave in the Desktop Picture folder so I changed the name of it to Wave1 and renamed the new photo Wave,  did not change the alias in the CoreService folder, now the second computer creates and new user account with all my perferred settings and background picture.
As a recap of my orginal post by creating a default user account, setting up the preferences for finder, and setting up the dock, I simply replaced the preference folder in the User Template file and it works perfectly.  Remember that you can do the same with the Document folder or the desktop if you want to place them for all new users.
Since I am not a professional computer person I do not feel comfortable using the terminal or scripting so this works very well for the common person to create a new user template.
