Dialog not opening

In struts action class method i am setting the response as attachment.
response.setHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + fileName);
so when this is called by the jsp page a download dialog is opened to download the attachmetn (which is opened by the browser depending upon the header type).
Now the scenario is that i want to call the same code from java applet and i want that a download dialog should be open like the way it is opened when call is made from jsp page to download the attachment whereas currently download dialog is not opened when the call is made from the java file.
How this can be done so that download dialog is opened to save the attachment in the desired location when the call is made from java applet.

Have set this option in LR2 preferences. However as I also have PS Elements 6 this loader opens instead. Have set auto play for the card reader to open LR to no avail. Have tried re-installing LR no change. Using Windows XP.

Lee, I to have just discovered that the import dialog does not pop up. The help says it is supposed to work that way so I thought I had some kind of problem. Are you saying the help is wrong and it has been changed. Not documented?
I am also on Windows XP, SP2 and I cannot figure out how to make auto import work. Is there some set up that may not be documented on how to do this?
I mean I can always go file>import from disk or file>import from device but I was surprised to find the import dialog not pop up when a card is inserted. The check box is there in preferences>import to suggest along with help menu, that it should work.
Appreciate any feedback.

Print Dialog not opened -Smartform

Hi Experts
            We have defined a output type and assigned a smartform for Invoice.
           The problem is we have included 60 billing items into a single billing document.
           So, when we try VF02 and the Issue output type, it opens the window and select the output type then give the print preview, the print dialog window is not opened.
           when i try it debug mode, the RV_MESSAGE_DIALOG fm returns the value(4) as OTHERS.
             So it leaves the transaction, how to solve this problem, what could be the reason actually. Its most urgent, pls anyone help me.

Trinidad Dialog Not Opening in new Window- 10 to 11g Migration

I have an ADF 10 application, which has been migrated into 11g (Trinidad).
I have an issue where my dialog window is opening in the same window, and not a new one. I have used the useWindow parameter and set ENABLE_LIGHTWEIGHT_DIALOGS to false so that a new window and not an Iframe is used. I have tried both true/false on this parameter.

doesn't sound right. Why is the Facelet setting added to your web.xml file? Did you mix Facelet files with JSPX documents? If so then this could be a cause

Export Dialog Not Opening

Hi, I currently have a windows-forms based C++.Net application deployed in several sites that uses CR XI-R2 to generate reports. The OS is Windows XP.
Out of the blue, one sites is reporting that the export dialog in CR Viewer is no longer appearing. All other sites are not experiencing this issue.
Does anyone have an idea why this might be occuring?

Is there any more info your customer can provide than just "CR Viewer is no longer appearing"? Error messages? Details of behavior, etc., or is just as simple as; click on the export button and the button is not responsive?
Check out to see if exportmodeller.dll and crtslv.dll exist in the bin directory C:program files\business objects\common\3.5\bin. If they do, register them.
Also, what version of .NET?
What CR SDK are you using (RDC, .NET)?
What CR service pack are you on?
Has the customer tryed to reinstall your app?

Distiller Server "Could not open file" modal dialog

We're running Distiller Server 8, and I've got a dilemma that I'm hoping is solvable.
This is installed on a Windows 2008 server, with jobs coming into watched folders from our OPI server. Periodically, we get a dialog box that says Acrobat Distiller "Could not open the file: P:\OPI_Data\PDF_Processing\Index_PDFs\out\<filename>". The path specifics will vary, but it's always a path to a file in process... not to a config file or anything like that.
The big problem is that this pops up as a modal dialog and Distiller won't process any more files until someone clicks "OK". On the console. On a server. In the datacenter. We run two shifts, and I'm getting really tired of phone calls at midnight saying "Distiller is hung... can you fix it?"
Is there a way to run Distiller Server in silent mode? Some way to tell it "If you have a problem, just fail that job and move on"? Having to have a server administrator connect in and click a dialog box is just silly.

That seems to have done the trick, thanks. I don't really like doing forces unless someone who knows more than I recommends it, as I see way too many threads where that has complicated things tremendously.

I can not open the breakpoint dialog in upper right next to plus sign.

Within Photoshop go to the "About Plug-in…" menu item just below "About Photoshop" to find the Camera Raw version number. On which menu that is depends on your platform, Macintosh or Windows, which you neglected to mention.
Raw files from your camera have been supported since version 2.0 of Camera Raw for years and years, so it's not a question of your version of ACR. Any version of ACR that runs in CS5 should open those files.
I suspect your raw files are damaged (corrupted).

Dialog control flow case not opening in new browser window

Using JDev 11gR1.
I have a page fragment that contains a table of command links like so:

in my page flow, the page fragment has a control flow case with the outcome "dialog:runReport" that leads to a URL View with the URL setting set to #{pageFlowScope.reportUrl}
(the reportRunAction places a string in page flow scope with the key of "reportUrl". in case it matters, the url is external to the application)
When I click on the link, I am directed to the correct URL. However, it does not open in a new browser window - it takes up the main browser window.
Is there something obvious that I am doing wrong?

Well, I couldn't figure out why the dialog wasn't working correctly, so I changed my page to use a server listener to handle the logic I wanted and just used af:goLink instead of a command link. That command link above became:

Ps CS5 "Print Page Setup" dialog will not open

Hello: I was printing via my Photoshop CS5.
I accidentally created a paper size of 0cm x 0cm and attempted to print (up to this point Photoshop and Print worked).
I now (permanently) get an error message: "There was an error opening your printer. . . "
Photoshop >File >Print. . . will not open the Print Page Setup.
Photoshop >File >Print one copy (works, but still tries to print 0cm x 0cm, the printer spits out a blank page).
Using the (Mac/Apple) app 'Preview' I deleted the paper size preset '0cm x 0cm'.
apps; Preview, Text Edit, Mail, Word, . . . all print properly (they can open the 'Print Page Setup' dialog).
I set up two other printers (now three in total) and they work with all applications (except Photoshop).
I uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop and my printers, including all their preference files.
Also, I again deleted Photoshop preference files by opening Photoshop while pressing 'Shft-Opt-Cmd'.
In 'System Preferences' >Print & Fax >Printers; I reset my computer's "Printing System".
I repaired 'Disk Permissions', Safe Boot and have also done multiple restarts.
Since only Photoshop has a problem, I believe Photoshop has (somewhere) set a preference thinking it's default paper size is 0cm x 0cm which is throwing an error and preventing the 'Print Page Setup' from opening.
I updated Photoshop Adobe Air, Printers, . . . after re-installing.
I ran an app that clears my computer's caches.
I reinstalled (and updated) my computer's operating system (OS only, not my account and data).

SelectInputText - LOV - dialog window is not opened

Hello,
I have a strange problem concerning the selectInputText component.
I implemented such an element following the examples that can be found anywhere. It works perfectly when running the page on the embedded OC4J in Jdev Studio 10.1.3.0.4.
But when I deploy the application to our web-server (IAS 9.0.4) the dialog does not open when I click on the LOV icon. The browser starts working, the progress bar shows activity but nothing more happens.
I am of course using the same browser then, so no popup-blockers or so...
Any idea, what the problem could be?

First of all, thank you for the link.
Problem is that we didn't migrate from an earlier release. We started developing in Jdev 10.1.3. Too bad, that our Application Server admins are a bit slow with their updates, so we have that version difference between development and production.
In addition to that I just recognized that everything is working fine, when I load the problematic JSP in Mozilla 1.5. The dialog window appears, I can select a value and it is send back to the calling page. Strange though!
Could it really be this version difference, because I tried to deploy another simple page with an af:selectInputText from Jdev 10.1.3 to a different (private) 9.0.4 AS installation and everything went well.

Since you're running Lion, just try a new system install - it won't affect your data or apps, but you should, anyway, have a backup regardless.
Boot to your Recovery partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting. At the Recovery window, first repair permissions again, then verify and, if necessary, repair your hard drive. Then quite Disk Utility and elect to reinstall the OS anew - it will only overwrite system files and the like, not touching your data, apps, etc. It may take awhile to complete.
After completion, reboot and see if the problem still exists. If it does, I'm just at a loss...

Please let me know if you have tried converting any other PDF to word with Reader.
Alos, please sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials. Click on 'ExportPDF' tab and upload the PDF that you want to convert to Word.

Firefox popups like the print dialog do not open

I am running FF 28.0 (build 20140314220517) on a Windows XP SP3 laptop. A few weeks ago, probably after the last update of FF, I noticed that I could no longer pull up the print dialog window. I've also noticed that other dialog windows like "File>Save Page As..." do not open as well. If I wish to save a link I must use a plugin like "DownloadThemAll!" because the "Save Link as..." won't open its dialog window.
Starting FF in Safe mode did not change this behavior. Also starting up FF using a brand new profile did not fix the problem.
If it matters, I'm using Avast! Antivirus. I've temporarily disabled Avast's shields to see if that made a difference but it did not.

This is just a follow-up post for anyone who might benefit from this. But to summarize in a sentence: my problem with Firefox 28 is due to Avast antivirus.
First let me say thanks to guigs2 for the suggestions even though they didn't help. :-)
The details: I had already tried safe made which didn't make a difference. Based on guigs2's link I then turned off hardware acceleration and switched to the default theme. Neither of these made a difference and I still could not bring up any dialog windows with FF. Lastly I disabled all extensions but that too was fruitless.
So at this point I felt it wise to try to start from scratch and uninstall Firefox and re-install. After doing that, I still had the problem and frustration was at an all time high. Sigh.
My gut feeling was that Avast was involved. But no matter which Avast shields I turned off, it didn't make FF start working as it should. So I uninstalled Avast and rebooted and now FF dialogs were back! Success!!
I am now using AVG instead since re-installing Avast killed FF dialogs again. I'm much more fond of Firefox than Avast so if one has to go, it certainly wasn't going to be FF.
I'll check the Avast board for any info but I doubt if I'm going back to them.
