"Dialog region" plugin - triggering OK dynamic action

Hi all,
I'm attempting to utilise the "Dialog region" plug-in found here
http://www.apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/region-plugin/dialog-region_30.html
It's appearing ok, but I initially had trouble associating a dynamic action with the "OK [Dialog Region]" event.
Someone asked the question back in 2011, but didn't provide details on how they implemented the dynamic action.
jQuery ids in Apex dialog region plug-in
I initially issues is because the DA definition still asks for a "Selection type". After trying a few variations, I modified the plug-in to associate an ID with the OK button, and attempted to use "#btn-ok" for a jQuery selector, but this still didn't fire the DA.
At the time my button rendered as
<button type="button" id="btn-ok" class="ui-button ui-widget ui-state-default ui-corner-all ui-button-text-only" role="button" aria-disabled="false"><span class="ui-button-text">Ok</span></button>I ended up succeeding using "DOM Object" of "document" (I thought I had already tried this...), the same way I implemented "Manual Close" for the Skillbuilders modal, but I was wondering if there was a different/more elegant solution?

Refreshing a region through javascript can be done like this:
$("#region_or_item_id").trigger('apexrefresh');So ideally you would specify 1 attributes for your dynamic action for entering region ids. You'd then need a little parsing for the provided string.
For example, i'd expect a comma-separated list.
-- change the region list into a list of jquery selectors
l_regions := REPLACE(p_dynamic_action.attribute_01, ',', ',#');
-- jquery will fire the refresh for each selector
l_result.javascript_function := 'function(){$("'||l_regions||'").trigger("apexrefresh");};';However, refreshing items... Items mostly get their value from the automated row fetch process, and have no individual refresh. You'd need to actually query the table again for the newest value and put this in the item value (keeping in mind that protected items would also need altered checksums). To do this dynamically, you'd also need an ajax callback. Here you'd need to run provided sql which retrieves a value, and put this in the provided item. If that is a route you want to explore, then you can use apex_plugin.util.get_data and its friends to assist you with that!

  • How to add a link to html region to fire a dynamic action?

    Hi, guys:
    I need to add a hyper link to a html region (I wish it could be a button :( ) , the value of items in this region is loaded by a pl/sql process before loading header. And this link needs to fire a dynamic action to update database. I know how to add a hyper link to this region, but how to set this link so I can fire a dynamic action by clicking this link, could anyone give me a hint?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi, Jorge:
    Thanks for your reply. I cannot use updateRec, I have to use my own PL/SQL procedure. I tried to use similar way as people set dynamic action for modal page.
    I set column link for ncic_approve_link
    SELECT SOR_ALIAS.ALIAS_ID,
    SOR_ALIAS.OFFENDER_ID,
    SOR_ALIAS.FIRST_NAME|| ' '|| SOR_ALIAS.MIDDLE_NAME|| ' '|| SOR_ALIAS.LAST_NAME || ' ' ||  SOR_ALIAS.SIR_NAME   AS " Alias Name ",
    NVL(SOR_ALIAS.NICKNAME, 'No Nick names ') AS "Nick Name",
    (case when SOR_ALIAS.ncic_verify_date is null then 'NCIC' else null end) ncic_approve_link
    FROM SOR_ALIAS
    WHERE SOR_ALIAS.OFFENDER_ID    = :p216_detail
    AND SOR_ALIAS.ADMIN_VALIDATED IS NOT NULL
    AND upper(SOR_ALIAS.STATUS)    = upper('active')the link attributes is
    onclick="return false;" class="alias_ncic" title="NCIC Approve"then I pass two values to two hidden variables:
    P216_H_NCIC_APPROVE_TABLE_NAME--->'SOR_ALIAS'
    P216_H_NCIC_APPROVE_KEY_VALUE--->#ALIAS_ID#
    and I declare a dynamic action to execute PL/SQl code as :
    event: click
    selection type: JQuery seclector
    JQuery selector: a.alias_ncic
    declare
    begin
      sor_admin.update_NCIC_verify_date(:P216_H_NCIC_APPROVE_TABLE_NAME, :P216_H_NCIC_APPROVE_KEY_VALUE);
    end;However, the PL/SQL was called but raised exception that both the parameters are null. It looks when user click the column link, the value is not passed to hidden items. Could you help me on this?

  • Re: Dynamic Action is not triggering in LSMW Recording

    Hello All,
    In SAP HRMS personnel actions if i do using LSMW Recording it is not triggering  the dynamic actions.
    Is there any mechanism to Trigger dynamic action in LSMW Recording ?
    How to find the differences in process with and with out recording ?
    Small help is also highly appreciated.
    With Regards,
    Sunil,

    Yes. Do one  thing. First study the dynamic action. Try to understand what the dynamic action is doing. Is it creating data in other infotype or is it updating some other table. Once it is clear what the dynamic action is doing then you can try to implement the same logic in LSMW. In LSMW there is a provision to add more than one recording and this recording can be called based on some logic..

  • Dynamic Action on "Get Focus" After Closing a Popup Window

    Hi,
    From one of APEX Application Pages I am calling a Popup Window where users can create a new record. In the Popup Window once the record is created and window is closed, I want to refresh the region on the main page to show the record created in the popup window.
    How do I create a dynamic action which will fire when the main APEX window gets the focus (after the popup window is closed). ?
    Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ashish Agarwal
    http://www.asagarwal.com

    Assuming that you have a dynamic action in the parent page which refreshes the region
    <li> Make a note of the event which triggers your dynamic action, lets call this event A.
    <li> Create a JS function in parent page which triggers event A when called.
    For example if your Dynamic Action trigger is a button(id ="P100_REFRESH") press event
    Your JS function could be
    function Trigger_refreshRegion()
      $('#P100_REFRESH').click();
    The way in which you simulate the Dynamic action deoends on the firing event that you have used, so modify it appropriately.
    <li>Now in the pop up page, if you are closing the page in JS using smthing like window.close() or so,
    just call the parent page's refresh JS function there using the
      opener.Trigger_refreshRegion(); //whatever was the name of the function that you created.

  • V4.0 Dynamic Action - Problem with implementing disabling/enabling button

    I'm having trouble implementing the following APEX V4.0 dynamic action:
    The enabling/disabling of a button when a text field is not-null/null.
    I'm following the example in Oracle's Advanced APEX course notes Pgs 5-13 to 5-16. I can get it working with no problems using two text fields. The example states that the "Select Type" for the button is a DOM object and you then have to enter it's name in "DOM Object" attribute. The example uses a "CREATE" button in a region position. Is "CREATE" just the Name attribute of the object? Is that what we are suppose to enter here? Also my FIND button is a "button among the region items" and not a "button in a region position" as in the example. The name of the button is P1_PAT_TBRN_SEARCH but when I use it as the Dom Object, nothing happens. Also I am using the "Key release" event for the text field that must be not-null.
    I notice that Demitri Gielis on his blog couldn't get it working either (see last paragraph)
    http://dgielis.blogspot.com/2010/01/apex-40-dynamic-actions-part-1.html
    Any suggestions?
    thanks in advance

    Edited by: PaulP on Jun 2, 2011 12:01 PM

    Hi Paul
    Two separate situtations here:
    - html buttons
    - template based buttons, typically comprising multiple html elements
    HTML Buttons
    These should be easy to enable/disable using dynamic actions, specifying an appropriate DOM selector.
    Typically you would use the ID attribute of the button, so that's straight forward except for one catch..
    APEX supports a #BUTTON_ID# template substitution tag , but performs substitutions only for buttons in Region positions and not for button items.
    Use button attributes instead to assign a specific ID.
    Template Buttons
    Since these are made up of multiple elements, you need to treat them as a single object to be able to interact with them easily.
    APEX provides the apex.widget.initPageItem method to integrate plugins with the dynamic actions framework:
    apex.widget.initPageItem("P1_MY_ITEM", {
    enable: function(){},
    disable: function(){},
    getValue: function(){},
    setValue: function(){},
    nullValue: "%null%"
    });This provides you with a mechanism to over-ride one or all of these built-in methods with your own JS, to use custom code to enable/disable your template buttons.
    For an example on how this works, look in the uncompressed apex_widget_4_0.js file, search for the shuttle widget.
    You could just add code to initialize your template buttons manually, or better still create a plugin button to add the code automatically.
    This is reasonably advanced work to do, but you really have to take your hat of to the APEX team for providing the mechanism to do it.

    Good day master!
    Hi im new in apex,, so im dynamic ondering if its posible to create a dynamic action in the column of classic report in apex?
    i'm trying but its not working my problem goes like this..
    i have a classic report stock_replenish
    columns
    item_code
    price
    supplier_name
    item_code is a pop-up loved by sql
    what i want to do is when the user choose a item_code it will also return the price and supplier_name
    i can do that in apex form but i dont know if iits posible to clasic report?
    please help!

    Dynamic action on report columns is possible but not as straigth forward as on items.
    First you can't select "report colum" as selection type for the dynamic action. Use jQuery Selector instead.
    See the [url http://api.jquery.com/category/selectors/]jquery documentation  on possible selectors.
    I prefer to use something like[name='f01'].
    Use the developer tools of your browser to see the name of your report column.
    Because you can't submit a single report cell value with the action "Set value".
    You have to use a combination of a action "Execute javascript" and a ondemand process.
    The javascript code is something like
      var elementId,idParts,row;
      /*Determine the id of the element that has triggered the dynamic action*/
      elementId = String(this.triggeringElement.id);
      /*The id of a item in a report column consists of to parts the name and the rownumber*/
      idParts = elementId.split('_');
      /*The second part is the rownumber we need that to set the value in the right row later on*/
      row = idParts[idParts.length-1];
      /*This calls the ondemand process*/
      apex.server.process ( "MANAGER_EMAIL", {x01:$v(this.triggeringElement),x02:row}, {success: function( pData ) { $s(pData.r,pData.d) }} );apex.server.process(name ondemand process,values to be submitted,options)
    {x01:$v(this.triggeringElement),x02:row}
    This submits the values of the triggering element and the row on which all the action is happening.
    x01 refers to apex_application.g_x01
    {success: function( pData ) { $s(pData.r,pData.d) }}
    The succes option defines a function that is executed upon succefull completion of the ondemand process.
    The ondemand process returns a json object. Which we can refer to in the javascript function with pData.
    In our ondemand process we are defining the json object as having to properties.
    d and r . d is the display value and r is the id of the element to be set.
    $s(r,d) is a [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/javascript_api.htm#CDEEIGFH]apex javascript function that sets the value d to item with id r.
    Now the server side code. This is an application process with process point Ondemand.
    Which is something like this.
    declare
      cursor c_emp(b_employee_id in number)
      is
        select emp.email
        from   oehr_employees emp
        where  emp.employee_id = b_employee_id
      col_emp_email oehr_employees.email%type;
      v_regel       number;
    begin
      /*Get the employee email*/
      open  c_emp(apex_application.g_x01);
      fetch c_emp
      into  col_emp_email;
      close c_emp;
      /*Calculate the rownumber do this only if the triggering element is a popup lov*/
      v_regel := to_number(apex_application.g_x02) + 1;
      /*Create the json header*/
      APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL.PRINT_JSON_HTTP_HEADER;
      /*Print out the json object*/
      sys.htp.p('{"d":"'||col_emp_email||'","r":"f03_'||lpad(to_char(v_regel),4,'0')||'"}');
    end; For specification of the JSON notation see [url http://www.json.org/]http://www.json.org/
    To see this in action I have set up a [url http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=VANBAREN_FORUM_TRY_OUT:TBDA:0&c=VANBAREN]demo.
    Change the manager and the manager email will change.
    I hope this is enough to get you started.
    If you have a problem in translating the above code to your specific situation set something up on apex.oracle.com. Then the help can be more specific to.

  • Dynamic actions and PA-PD integration a problem

    Are you aware of an update problem with MSS and PA-PD integration?  This information was made available in a presentation to us last year.  Was this issue resolved in mySAP ERP 2004?
    Dynamic actions and PA-PD integration a problem
    Dynamic actions and PA-PD integration are not
    processed on updates made from the web (but in the
    background through a batch or call transaction session)
    That’s why most standard PCRs require HR to process
    the transaction using the SAP GUI in the foreground
    This normally affects changes to infotypes 0000 &
    0001
    Then the next slide states:
    Workaround for dynamic actions
    Review dynamic actions in table T588Z (use SE16 to
    display) and document the infotypes and values that
    trigger dynamic actions
    Incorporate those infotypes into your background
    processing and web forms (if necessary)
    Workaround for PA-PD integration
    Include the integration steps for these infotypes in your
    background processing (just as in conversions)

    Hi John,
    Not sure if it is fixed.. or can be fixed.. we are still in 47  & Use custom code to account for Dynamic Actions.. the PCR processes use the function module HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA to update the infotypes. This function mimics a BDC & hence cannot handle Dynamic Actions... Basically, the issue is not with MSS but it is the way Dynamic Actions work.. to quote SAP  "Dynamic actions are not correctly processed in batch input sessions since in batch input the sequence of the screens needs to be predefined correctly. To be able to process dynamic actions in batch input, the checks of the dynamic actions need to be programmed when creating the batch input session. To avoid errors when programming and running the session, the static actions  only are processed in batch input. Calls of infotypes that are triggered by dynamic actions should be realized by separate Transaction calls.
    Please take a look at OSS Note #386027 for additional info about Dynamic Actions.

  • Dynamic Actions in Oracle APEX

    Hello all,
    I am using Oracle APEX 4.0.
    In an application, on a page I am using two standard dynamic actions
    to show particular items to the user.
    The first one is working fine but when I select the item which
    triggers second dynamic action the result of first one is
    reverted.
    I tried all the three event scopes bind, live and once.
    But it didn't worked out. Please suggest something?

    Your question is very vague, you ll have to provide more details about what each of those dynamic actions does.

  • Dynamic Actions with Multiple Actions Capability

    Dynamic Actions with Multiple Actions Capability
    How can I get Dynamic Actions to work on Actions that are stored solely on IT0302 due to the multiple relationship to a previous Action that is stored on both IT0302 and IT0000?
    When multiple actions on a given day are executed, the dynamic action from the first action entered is executed twice - when it should only execute the first time with the second actions dynamic action triggering the second time.
    Thanks

    When there are multiple actions with the same effective date the wrong dynamic action is triggered.  For example, if I have an Expat Return To Home action followed by an Internal Move action with the same effective date the below events occur:
    1.  IT0001 is updated due to Expat Return to Home - triggering the Dynamic Action off of IT0000 which is Expat Return to Home (Correct)
                -  Action is stored on IT0000 and IT0302
    2.  IT0001 is updated due to Internal Move - triggering the Dynamic Action off of IT0000 which is Expat Return to Home (Incorrect - background processing creates data not needed)
                -  Action is stored only on IT0302
    Question:
    How can we leverage Multiple Actions with the same effective date while continuing to use Dynamic Actions?

  • How to process Dynamic Action in BDC

    Hi friends.
    We are using HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to update some infotypes. The problem is that dynamic action does not get triggered as SY-BINPT = 'X' when we use this FM or BDC to update.
    Now, is there any workaround so that we can process dynamic actions via our program?
    Can somehow we call the subroutine DYN_ACTION from our program? Can the values of PSAVE etc be availabe in our program?
    Thanks in adv!

    Hi
    Its kind of complicated to code dynamic actions in your BDC code. However , I would try my best to make you understand.
    1. Make a BDC recording of the source screen.
    2. Dynamic actions are stored in table: T588Z. Now during your screen processing of BDC data, you have to check the conditions yourself whether this was the condition which triggers the dynamic action.
    3, Make another BDC recording of the target screens which are called due to dynamic actions. Now if the condition in the source screen is fullfilled and you have to call a dynamic action then direct your program flow to the BDC recording of the target screen and update all the fields which would be updated by Dynamic Actions in the normal user interaction of that screen.
    In short, you have to program all those things which Dynamic action does since BDC does not support dynamic actions.
    Reward points, if helpful.

  • Buttons and Dynamic Actions

    When triggering a dynamic action from a button, I'd like to prevent the page from submitting. Following the advice from earlier threads, I have set the button to redirect to a URL. But since the dynamic action will be performing all the required actions, I'd like the URL invoked by the button to do nothing.
    What is the best practice for allowing the button to do no more than initiate the DA?

  • Apex 4.2 dynamic action to refresh a report region on a different page

    Hi,
    I open up a pop up window from a report region. When the user is done in the pop-up window and closes it, can I trigger a refresh on the report region using dynamic actions without actually reloading the whole page? I know I can use dynamic action on a page to refresh the report region on the same page.
    Thanks,
    Sinan

    Sinan,
    So long as the region to be refreshed is still loaded, you can do this. I don't know how you are loading your pop-up or unloading it but, the principle should be the same as what I provide below.
    Assume that you have set the static ID for your report to MY_REPORT. (Be sure you have checked "Allow Partial Page Refresh" in the Report Attributes).
    $('#confirmBox').find('div#userConfirmationMessage').html( '<span class="userInputRequest">Would you to Refresh your Report?</span>' );
    $('#confirmBox').dialog(
        autoOpen: true,
        modal: true,
        title: 'Refresh Conformation',
        buttons:
            'No': function ()
                $(this).dialog('close');
            'Yes': function ()
                $(this).dialog('close');
                 $('#MY_REPORT').trigger('apexrefresh');

  • Dynamic action on show region

    Hi,
    Application Express 4.1.0.00.32
    I have a report region on a page that is conditionaly displayed based on the value of a page item Pn_ITEM = 'HIDE'.
    I have dynamic actions that run on the page that populate a collection and refresh the report without the need to submit the page. However I need to somehow show the report when the collection has at least one member present.
    I have tried the following:
    1st true action executes pl/sql that adds a record / member to a collection, then a 2nd action sets the value to a page item Pn_ITEM = 'SHOW' and a 3rd true action that should show the region based on the set value from true action 2.
    My collection has a member added. The value 'SHOW' is applied to my page item Pn_ITEM by the dynamic action however the report region that I now want displayed is not showing. Obviously if the page is submitted the report will now be shown however I cannot submit the page at this point thats why I need to do this dynamicaly or through javascript and on demand processes.
    Any ideas how to get my report region to display once the collection has at least one member without submitting the page?
    Thanks in advance.

    Remove the condition for display from the region. You don't want to have this here since it will completely stop the region from rendering if the condition is not fullfilled at rendering time. You want it rendered, just not displayed.
    Add css to the region (inline, class):
    style="display: none;"Add a true action which will do a refresh on your region (Component - Refresh, select your report region as an affected element).
    Now either:
    Add a true action of type execute javascript. Since you can't put conditions on true actions, we'll test the condition in javascript.
    Pick one:
    if($v("Pn_ITEM")=='SHOW'){
    //if you want to target the region to be shown by an ID (static id?)
    $("#region_id").show();
    if($v("Pn_ITEM")=='SHOW'){
    //if the triggering element would be the region to be shown
    $(this.triggeringElement).show();
    if($v("Pn_ITEM")=='SHOW'){
    //if you'd want multiple affected elements to be shown at once drop the [0]
    $(this.affectedElements[0]).show();
    };Create a new dynamic action which has the same triggering conditions as your other dynamic action.
    Specify a when condition:
    $v("Pn_ITEM")=='SHOW'Create one true action of the type 'Show' to show the region.
    End result should be your dynamic action creating an element in the collection, a refresh of the report based on the element (but still not shown), and finally a show of the region.
    Don't forget that the actions will also need fire on page load (so don't forget to check the checkbox on the true actions), otherwise the region will not be shown initially.
    I'd say that the item is probably not necessary anymore, but that depends on any other logic you might have on your page and possibly interacts with it.

    Hi,
    One way:
    Create advanced dynamic action.
    Name : Hide region
    Event : Change
    Selection Type : Item(s)
    Items(s) : P200_KOD
    Condition : JavaScript Expression
    Value :
    $(this.triggeringElement).children("option:selected").html().substring(0,1) !== "V"Action : Hide
    Fire On Page Load : True
    Hide all page items on the same line : No
