Dictionary table showing history of parameter changes ... fact or fiction?

Guten Tag
I understand there is a dictionary table/view/object that tracks changes to database parameter values but I can't seem to be able to find it.
A co-worked mentioned that information is available in OEM so I figured there must be a table somewhere that is storing it.
Any thoughts or documentation references are most welcome.
Thanks very much!

I assume the SNAP_ID in that table must be a reference to an AWR snap of database information?
>
Why assume? Not the definitive source but see this blog about the dba_hist tables
http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/living-happy-oracle/oracle-the-dba_hist-tables-30168
>
The information in most of the DBA_HIST tables corresponds to the AWR snapshots (the SNAP_ID column tells us to which snapshot the information is relevant to) so they are populated with new information when a snapshot is taken and old information is purged along with the AWR snapshot according to the AWR retention settings.
>
The last bullet point in the article may answer your initial question. This is just the start - there is also a query you can use
>
■Did you ever wonder if someone had changed a system parameter and did not inform you? No more, the DBA_HIST_PARAMETER keeps system parameter information for all snapshots and helps the DBA track any parameter.

  • Dictionary tables content history

    Hi developers,
                 does anybody know if there is a way to have an history about the content of a dictionary table? I mean not about its versions, just about the records it contained last month, last week, yesterday...
    I need to know how its content changed with time, but I don't know how to do (and I'm not sure it's possible).
    Thanx to all

    Vijay,
    Yes it can be done.  Change documents are created based on the data element of the field in the table.  The data element must be set to create a change document.  This is just the first step.  Posted below is the online help describing the change document field of a data element.  I looked into this several years ago and decided not to do it.  The work required was more than the time allowed.
    Bruce
    Indicator for writing change documents
    Use
    This flag is used to create change documents for business objects.
    You can create a change document object for a business object. This change document object contains the tables in which the data of the business object is stored. Function modules that are called in the corresponding application programs and that log the changes at runtime can be generated from the change document object.
    Logging only takes place if the fields whose contents were changed refer to a data element that was flagged as relevant for the change document.
    You can go to the maintenance screen for change documents from the initial screen of the ABAP Workbench with Development -> Other tools -> Change documents.

  • Show History showing 'Manager' for all changes

    Forum,
    We have come another instance where by an order which was added on SAP yesterday
    A user (USER1) updated the Sales order by adding a space on the remark field and  then updated.However the show history function is displaying the log as Manager who did this.  USER1 did not log in as Manager. Has anyone ever come across this? The version this is happening on is 8.8 PL20.
    Regards,
    Juan

    Gordon,
    Out of interest, if the marketing document has formatted searches on it and these are set to update when a header field is changed i.e. If you're in a sales order. Add it then move to an existing sales order thus the header information's changed and the 'Update' field becomes available. Does this update the history as the user you're logged in as or does it user a generic 'Manager' user?

  • Show history report

    Dear Support,
    Where can I get a "Show history" report out of SAP B1? I have a client that needs a report which shows all the updated made on the chart of accounts and business partners, who made the change, what date and what change was made.
    When you go to show history in SAP you can see that it is looking at the AACT for the chart of accounts and the ACRD tables but it doesn't seem to pick up and changes that I make today.
    Please advise how I can get this information out of SAP?
    regards
    Clayton.

    Hi there,
    The AACT table for some reason is not picking up my changes that I have made. There is plenty of history in this table but when I made a change to one of the accounts and then searched for any changes made on that day my query came back with zero results.
    So I am not sure what changes it picks up or where from but I can't get what i want out of that table. But when you go to that account and view history it has a record of the change you made and it says that it is getting the information from the AACT table but when i look for it in that table it is not there?
    Am i missing something?

  • Show History inacurate after upgrade

    Forum,
    Has anyone come across any issues with being unable to view the correct 'Show History' information after performing an upgrade from 2005 to SAP 8.8? For example I have a sales order which was entered by the user 'John' on the 2005 system and this user name is listed on the 'Tools' -> 'Show History' screen however when i check the same screen on SAP 8.8, the username is 'manager'.
    Why would this be?
    Regards,
    Juan

    Hi
    check this [note Note 1507528 - Behavior change of history tables in the database|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1507528]
    In 8.8 version, when creating an item, a marketing document or a business partner(BP) and checking the history tables, such as AITM, ADOC, ACRD, you find there is no record in the tables related to the created item, document or BP. The record only exists in master data tables, such as OITM, OINV, OCRD.
    When changing the existing item, document or BP, the record for final update will only be stored in master data tables. Records except the final update are stored in history tables.
    Kind regards

  • Is it possible to create a view where table in the From clause changes name

    is it possible to create a view from a from a table like this
    create view my_view as select id, col1, col2, result from <<my_latest_cacahe_table>>;
    the table in the from clause changes the name .
    I have another table which indicates the the latest name of my cache tables. Always there are two records there. The latest one and previous one.
    select * from cache_table_def
    table_name cache_table_name refresh_date
    my_table cache_table245 1/23/2012
    my_table cache_table235 1/22/2012
    create table cache_table_def (table_name varchar2(25), cache_table_name varchar2(25), refresh_date date);
    insert into cache_table_def values( 'my_table','cache_table245','23-jan-2012');
    insert into cache_table_def values ( 'my_table','cache_table546','22-jan-2012');
    create table cache_table245 (id number, col1 varchar2(50), col2 varchar2(20), result number);
    insert into cache_table245 values(1, 'test123', 'test345',12.12);
    insert into cache_table245 values (2, 'test223', 'test245',112.12);
    create table cache_table235 (id number, col1 varchar2(50), col2 varchar2(20), result number);
    insert into cache_table235 values (1, 'test123', 'test345',92.12);
    insert into cache_table235 values (2, 'test223', 'test245',222.12);
    what I need to do is find the latest cache_table name for my_table and use that in my view defintion
    When user select from the the view it always reurns the data from the latest cache_table
    is it possible to do something like this in oracle 11g?
    I have no control on the cache tables names. that is why I need to use the latest name from the table.
    Any ideas really appreciated.

    I've worked up an example that does what you ask. It uses the SCOTT schema EMP table. Make two copies of the EMP table, EMP1 and EMP2. I deleted dept 20 from emp1 and deleted dept 30 from emp2 so I could see that the result set really came from a different table.
    -- create a context to hold an environment variable - this will be the table name we want the view to query from
    create or replace context VIEW_CTX using SET_VIEW_FLAG;
    -- create the procedure specified for the context
    - we will pass in the name of the table to query from
    create or replace procedure SET_VIEW_FLAG ( p_table_name in varchar2 default 'EMP')
      as
      begin
          dbms_session.set_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME', upper(p_table_name));
      end;
    -- these are the three queries - one for each table - none of them will return data until you set the context variable.
    select * from emp where 'EMP' = sys_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME' );
    select * from emp1 where 'EMP1' = sys_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME' );
    select * from emp2 where 'EMP2' =  sys_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME' )
    -- this is how you set the context variable depending on the table you want the view to query
    exec set_view_flag( p_table_name => 'EMP' );
    exec set_view_flag( p_table_name => 'EMP1' );
    exec set_view_flag( p_table_name => 'EMP2');
    -- this will show you the current value of the context variable
    SELECT sys_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME' ) FROM DUAL
    -- this is the view definition - it does a UNION ALL of the three queries but only one will actually return data
    CREATE VIEW THREE_TABLE_EMP_VIEW AS
    select * from emp where 'EMP' = sys_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME' )
    union all
    select * from emp1 where 'EMP1' = sys_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME' )
    union all
    select * from emp2 where 'EMP2' =  sys_context( 'VIEW_CTX', 'TABLE_NAME' )
    -- first time - no data since context variable hasn't been set yet
    SELECT * FROM THREE_TABLE_EMP_VIEW
    -- get data from the EMP table
    exec set_view_flag( p_table_name => 'EMP' );
    SELECT * FROM THREE_TABLE_EMP_VIEW
    -- get data from the EMP2 table
    exec set_view_flag( p_table_name => 'EMP2');
    SELECT * FROM THREE_TABLE_EMP_VIEW
    For your use case you just have to call the context procedure whenever you want to switch tables. You can union all as many queries as you want and can even put WHERE clause conditions based on other filtering criteria if you want. I have used this approach with report views so that one view can be used to roll up report data different ways or for different regions, report periods (weekly, quarterly, etc). I usually use this in a stored procedure that returns a REF CURSOR to the client. The client requests a weekly report and provides a date, the procedure calculates the START/END date based on the one date provided and sets context variables that the view uses in the WHERE clause for filtering.
    For reporting it works great! Hello All,
    I have created DDIC table created dynamically.
    But what i require is! the dictionary table which i have created should be under the package name as given by the customer.
    I have seen in FM DDIF_TABL_PUT  the parameter dd02v-APPLCLASS is the write parameter to create the table under the required package. This field is of length char 4 only.
    Normally the package name will be greater than char4 and also it happend in my case that the package name is more than char4.
    Now i am unable to create the table dynamically under the specified pacakage of the customer
    How can i solve this problem?
    Can any one help me in this issue?

    Hi Lakshman,
    Thank you for your reply,
    I have used the FM which you have mentioned but i didn't work. I mean when i see the attributes of the table, package is still empty.

    If the SSRS is changed to SSL mode and http binding is removed after Reporting Service Point is installed. The Configuration Manager Console shows nothing in Reporting Pane. After digging into this problem, the cause is that the SSRS information has not

    1. After changing to SSL, the Reporting Service Point log shows the error as shown in Figure 1.

    It seems the Console wants to access the old http site and it fails to get into the site for sure. Actually, the Site Configuration information is come from Site Control File and as we all know that ConfigMgr 2012 doesn’t store the Site Control file in the
    file system. However, it’s stored in the SQL database (as XML file). The XML file is stored in a view named vSMS_SC_SiteControlXML. This view is a read-only view. We cannot edit it directly. The related table stored the SSRS information for this view is SC_SysResUse_Property.
    Running the following query will list the SSRS address. We can see the address is still the old one. This is why the Console shows nothing.
    SELECT
    name,
    value2
    FROM dbo.SC_SysResUse_Property
    where name
    ='ReportServerUri'
    or name=
    'ReportManagerUri'
    Remarks:
    This article is just to let you know why the Console cannot show the Reports after changing to SSL mode. We do not intend to make you change the table in Database, if you want to change it, you will be at your own risk. The real solution to this situation
    is to reinstall your Reporting Service Point.

    Ok, but how do you solve this problem? Does uninstalling the RP and adding it back solve this problem?

  • Execute subroutine only when selection parameter changes

    Hi ABAP workers,
    I have a block of selection parameters, and I created the event AT SELECTION SCREEN ON BLOCK bl1 with a subroutine. I want that subroutine to be executed only when a parameter in the selection block is changed by the user. But the behaviour right now is that it executes every time I press Enter, even if no parameter changes.
    Is there any way to chieve this (like in the module pool case, with the extension "ON REQUEST")?
    Thank you very much
    Ivson
    Code involved:
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK bl1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
    PARAMETERS: p_bukrs LIKE csks-bukrs MEMORY ID buk OBLIGATORY,
                             p_ryear LIKE glpct-ryear OBLIGATORY.
    SELECT-OPTIONS: s_poper  FOR glpct-rpmax,
                                  s_racct  FOR glpct-racct,
                                  s_kunnr  FOR glpca-kunnr,
                                  s_lifnr  FOR glpca-lifnr,
                    s_sprctr FOR glpct-sprctr.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK bl1.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON BLOCK bl1.
      PERFORM preselect.

    Hi,
    You could try this.
    Use the FM "DYNP_VALUES_READ" to get the contents of that screen parameter and then check for the parameter value inside the subroutine using a IF statement.
    PNAME is a paramter name here.
    a  dynpfields-fieldname  = 'PNAME'.
      append dynpfields.
      repid = sy-repid.
      call function 'DYNP_VALUES_READ'
           exporting
                dyname     = repid
                dynumb     = sy-dynnr
           tables
                dynpfields = dynpfields
           exceptions
                others.
      read table dynpfields index 1.
      pname = dynpfields-fieldvalue.
    Process the subroutine if needed based on the check condition.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Issue with data dictionary -Table maintanance generator

    Hi all,
    I have an issue with Data dictionary, table maintenance generator. I have entered some records in a custom table (ZBCSECROLETOGRP) and changed the delivery class from C to A. When I create the table maintainance generator, I am encountered with the following errors:
    1)Field ZBCSECROLETOGRP-PORTALGROUP shortened (new visible length: 000032)
    2)0012 could not be generated
    3)In TCTRL_ZBCSECROLETOGRP field LENGTH has the invalid value 01
    My main motto is to create the table maintainace generator and transport to the furthur systems .
    Please help.
    ThnX in advance,
    Vishal..

    HI,
    Regenerate the table maintenance by selecting the checkbox of "Modified field structure" => new entry & then save.
    Also ensure that the new changes are not affecting old data bcz of data type changes. If that is the case, then delete the old records, regenerate table maint. & re-enter those records which you had deleted.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Prashant
