Yes, I did google about this. But, it was not clear to me. I did ATM application using both RPC and RMI. Even though, it worked fine and did not lose points in my assignments, unfortunately the concepts were not clear.
Can you please explain me what does it meant by - there is objects involved in RMI. In RPC, invoking functions is done through a proxy function. It will be great if you can explain it using ATM application.

A CONFUSION:The difference between cluster and multi-IP--DNS mapping??

          I have a test about simplest cluster,admin and managed server all told me "start
          cluster service"!the two IP address use ONE DomainName,If one down,when I send
          request with dn,It first look up admin server,no found and then go dns to search
          another server,about one minute then the server send response to me!
          But when I do not config a cluster,only start two admin server and give them the
          same dns,the same appearance as cluster!
          I don't understand the difference between cluster and multi-IP--DNS mapping??

          It is totally different. regarding the last failover example you've given,
          of course the 2 servers can have identical files maintained under
          public_html. DNS will failover requests to "foo.html" to the other one if
          the first server is down, but if you have something saved in a session, say
          shopping cart example, it's totally lost, but with WLS clustering, the
          session is replicated to the other server in the cluster, you may just
          check-out, don't have to order again.
          This is just a simple example of WLS cluster session-replication. WLS
          supports EJB, RMI Objects, JMS (6.0) clustering.. check the doc at

Difference between J2SE and J2EE...

Hi all. I was wondering what the difference between J2SE and J2EE were. I mean in the code structure. Are the packages the same, like Swing, IO, things like that. I'm a bit of a beginner in Java, only been messing around with it for about 6 months now kind of in my spare time, and I know I'm in now way ready for J2EE, but it's something I think I'd like to maybe look into. I know it's for Enterprise Applications, much bigger scale than I'm used to, but fundamentally, how is it different? Different coding conventions? New packages not in J2SE? I hope what I want is coming across okay. Thanks for all the input.

J2EE defines a large number of specifications, in addition to J2SE. Examples are the Servlet, JSP, JMS, and EJB specifications. Most of those specifications are designed to have implementations running inside an Application Server. There are free implementations available such as JBoss (combined with for example Tomcat), and I think youre best bet to learn is to download one of those and go from there. Servlets and JSP are a good beginning, and then maybe move on to EJB and the rest.

Difference between durablity and persistance

I am new to JMS and could anyone tell me what is the difference between durablity and persistance?
As far as i understood, persistance is with respect to the JMS Provider. Say, for example when the JMSProviderServer crashes, and if the message is persistant(by setting as a parameter in setDeliveryMode() method), when the server starts up, the message will be reaching the intended Message Consumers.
Durability is with respect to the Message Consumers. If the message consumers are subscribed as durable, then even if they are not active they will receive the message when they get connected to the Provider at a later time.
Is my understanding right?
If it is, i am getting one more doubt. What happens, if i set the message as nonpersistant type and publish to a topic and the durable subscriber is not active when the message is published? Will the durable subscriber be able to get the published message, when it becomes active again?

Your understanding is correct. Messages can be persistent. Subscribers can be durable.
The specification is somewhat loose on non-persistent messages being sent to an inactive durable subscriber. First of all anything that is non-persistent is already a candidate for being dropped at anytime. Having said that, it is anti-social to drop messages, even for inactive durable subscribers.
Mileage varies by vendor though. Check for yourself to be sure.

REAL differences between STCMS and JMQ that can cause trouble?

i wanted to start a collection of differences between STCMS and JMQ. before i was working with JMQ i had a very naive point of view and thought we would migrate to JMQ without having any difficulties besides administration process changes....
so far the bigest differences for me that i found until now are:
1) JMS properties are not allowed to start numerical like 1_firstJmsProp now they must be named like _1firstJmsProp
2) setting null values as property causes exceptions (i think it was JMSMessageFormatException or something like this..)
any other points you have found out till now?

what I also found out and not really forces me to use JMQ in production is, that in eManager the Queues of the Sun_JMQ - message server can not really be addressed! I have a test-project running that pulls regularly data into that queue running on the Sun_JMQ, but when I go to the Sun_JMQ - entry in eManager, I only see the queue, but the eManager says it is an empty queue - no "Min Sequence Number", "Max Sequence Number", ... not even the "Last Published Date/Time" is set. So, in production you would not be able to see how many data was already processed and when the last message was sent!
I assume this is related to the way data is gathered from the JMS-server and maybe Sun uses the SeeBeyond implementation here?!
Funny is, that when you stop the receiver of the Sun_JMQ - queue, you at least see how many data are waiting in the queue to be processed and you can also take a look at the messages waiting!
Edit: What I just saw is, that when you look at the "Logging"-tab of the Sun_JMQ-server in eManager you see the log-entries of the stcms-server in there (so from the other JMS-server)?!?!

I would suggest to always use the GUI_UPLOAD. I say this because this is the function module which is used in the GUI_UPLOAD method of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.   Really, you should probably use the class/method instead of the function module.

Can anyone explain me the difference between char and varchar, and also the difference between varchar and varchar2...

Varchar2 is variable width character data type, so if you define column with width 20 and insert only one character to tis column only, one character will be stored in database. Char is not variable width so when you define column with width 20 and insert one character to this column it will be right padded with 19 spaces to desired length, so you will store 20 characters in the dattabase (follow the example 1). Varchar data type from Oracle 9i is automaticlly promoted to varchar2 (follow example 2)
Example 1:
SQL> create table tchar(text1 char(10), text2 varchar2(10))
2 /
Table created.
SQL> insert into tchar values('krystian','krystian')
2 /
1 row created.
SQL> select text1, length(text1), text2, length(text2)
2 from tchar

Mountain Lion is an enhanced version of previous OS X and so that is Mavericks.
About upgrading it all depends on what your needs are and if your hardware supports it.

Hi,
They are both used for 10Gig interfaces. The difference is the connector type.
SFP+ is LC and X2 is SC.
You can not put an SFP+ into an X2 slot or X2 optic into a SFP+.

Actually OK_CODE and SY-Ucomm are the same. But experts suggest use of OK code for following reason:
In each PAI event that a user triggers by choosing either a pushbutton on the screen or an element in a GUI status, the corresponding function code is placed into the system field SYST-UCOMM or SY-UCOMM and placed in the OK_CODE field (as long as the function code is not empty). Empty function codes are placed in neither the SY-UCOMM field nor the OK_CODE field.
In your ABAP programs, you should work with the OK_CODE field instead of SY-UCOMM. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, the ABAP program has full control over fields declared within it, and secondly, you should never change the value of an ABAP system field. However, you should also always initialize the OK_CODE field in an ABAP program for the following reason:
In the same way that the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program and the system field SY-UCOMM receive the contents of the corresponding screen fields in the PAI event, their contents are also assigned to the OK_CODE screen field and system field SYST-UCOMM in the PBO event. Therefore, you must clear the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program to ensure that the function code of a screen is not already filled in the PBO event with an unwanted value. This is particularly important when the next PAI event can be triggered with an empty function code (for example, using ENTER). Empty function codes do not affect SY-UCOMM or the OK_CODE field, and consequently, the old field contents are transported.

When you encapsulate something you get an inside and an outside. The outside is the abstraction. It describes how the encapsulated entity behaves viewed from the outside. Collections support global iteration (through collection->get_next( )) and local iteration (through iterator->get_next( )).
Each collection has a focus object. Initially, the first object has the focus.
Any global iteration moves the focus, which is published by the event FOCUS_CHANGED of the collection.
If you want to iterate on the collection without moving the focus (and without triggering timeconsuming follow-up processes) you can use local iteration. To do so, request an iterator object from the collection and use this to iterate.
And one more advantage of using iterator: it takes care of deleted entities. If you use global iteration then when you reach deleted entity it will be an exception. But there is no exception with iterator in the same situation.
