Difference between modal node and data node

Hi Experts,
One small basic question: What is the difference between a modal node and a data node?? Why do we bind a modal node with a function module and nota a data node?? Moreover, what is a recursion node n how cani make use of this node??

    Without Data Guard Broker:
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db112/to_toc?pathname=server.112/e17022/toc.htm
    With Data Guard Broker:
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db112/to_toc?pathname=server.112/e17023/toc.htm
See especially why you want to use the broker:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17023/concepts.htm#i1013106
In short: You should have a good reason if you do not use the broker, because it is the officially recommended way to maintain Data Guard. It is even required for some features like Fast-Start Failover.

  • Difference between relational integrity and data intigrity

    hi
    could anybody tell me
    what is the difference between
    relational integrity and data intigrity
    tahnx
    kals.

    hi,
    Data Integrity
Data integrity means, in part, that you can correctly and consistently navigate and manipulate the tables in the database. There are two basic rules to ensure data integrity; entity integrity and referential integrity.
The entity integrity rule states that the value of the primary key can never be a null value (a null value is one that has no value and is not the same as a blank). Because a primary key is used to identify a unique row in a relational table, its value must always be specified and should never be unknown. The integrity rule requires that insert, update, and delete operations maintain the uniqueness and existence of all primary keys.
The referential integrity rule states that if a relational table has a foreign key, then every value of the foreign key must either be null or match the values in the relational table in which that foreign key is a primary key.
    What is a Relational Integrity?
A relational database contains tables of data which are related to each other. For example, articles are related to the author who wrote them, and conversely, authors are related to the articles they wrote. (Sounds obvious, and it is.) That's the relational part.
When we work with a relational database, we naturally expect that data in related tables stay related. For example, articles written by MartinB should always be related to MartinB and never be confused with articles written by any other author. That's the integrity part.
Relational Integrity is also called Referential Integrity, perhaps because the mechanism for ensuring integrity is implemented by the way the tables reference each other. Both terms are okay with me. I usually just say RI anyway.

  • Difference between modal screen and normal screen

    Hi everyone,
Now,I am developing a dypro. when I create a modal screen ,I found no difference between normal screen and modal screen.
eg. If I use the statement "call screen" , whatever which type of screen you use, the results look like the same. The same to the statement "call screen start at end at".

    Hi
Screen type for modal dialog box
If you activate this attribute, the screen is used as a modal dialog box. In the program, you call the screen with
CALL SCREEN  STARTING AT  <top left>
                 ENDING   AT  <bottom right>.
Unlike normal pop-ups, a modal dialog box has its own pushbuttons and title. There is no menu bar and command field entries are not possible.
    Normal screen type
If you activate this attribute, the screen is flagged as a normal screen. This is the default setting.
Alternatively, it may have the following special functions:
    Subscreen
    Modal dialog box
    Selection screen
    Class screen
In the Screen Painter, you can choose between normal, subscreen, and modal dialog box.
Selection screen and class screen attributes are assigned by the system.

  • Difference between Key feilds and Data fileds in ODS

    Hi team,
What is diff between data fields and Key fileds in ODS ?.
    Pl let me know.
    Regards,
    Senthil

    Hi
    Key fields:
Unique identification of record: uniqueness of a record in ods is maintained by how you define the key fiedls in the ods. key fields in the ods are equal to the primany indexes on a table.
If you activate the ODS it will generate a Table with Primarykey which you defined in the ODS.
    Datafields:
data fields that can also contain character fields and keyfigures.

  • What is the difference between copy requirement and data transfer routines

    Hi Experts,
I am writing a copy control routine for maintainence quote
from sales quote.Where do i have to write it in VOFM?
Is it in copying requirements or data transfer.
Actually according to the business all the line items from the sales quote are copied
into the maintainence quote and additional line items are added into maintainence quote
and the line items copied from the source document are linked to the two newly added
    line items.
    Please advise.
And is it possible to add the 2 new line items to the new document into VBAP at the runtime?
    Regards,
    Chitrasen

First of all you have to have a link between the sales documents. You can check it in Tcode: VTAA. if not, talk to your functional people. Try to make this equal to quote to order but instead make it quote to quote.
You need to put break point in copy requirement as well as in data transfers and check for your requirement.
Well, the code you want to put in will be the requirement
I am not sure if you can add 2 line items runtime into quote. this has to go through different checks and i dont think it is possible.
    Good luck

  • Difference between general DB and Data Warehouse DB

    Hi,
We have a server on which Oracle Database was already installed. We want to use it as a data wareshouse. I had a question that if this database would be sufficient for a data warehouse or i would have to create a new database for data warehouse. Is it possible to find out if the installation was general purpose or Data Warehouse?
Also if i go ahead then would it impact if i directly install the new database without uninstalling previous oracle database.
    Appreciate your help
    regards,
    Edited by: user10243788 on Mar 23, 2010 2:09 AM

While installing you can select any one 'General Purpose' or 'Dataware house', the only difference in those two while installation is that the parameters for init.ora will be having high values for dataware house database, which can also be updated later manually. So you can go ahead and install general purpose database aswell but later you need to modify the init.ora parameters for specifying higher memory values for parameters like shared_pool_size, java_pool_size, db_buffer_cache etc.

  • Rounding Differences between TSQL Cast and Data Conversion component

This is using SSIS 2012.  We are using an Ole Db Connection manager using the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider.
I have an Access database (accdb). It has several columns that are coming into SSIS as real data types.  One column has a value of 68.8335558900872.
In the past we used the Data Conversion to convert from real to numeric 18, 6.  The result was 68.833555.  Rather than rounding on the last decimal place, it is returning the floor at six decimal places.
We have converted the process to load the data into a real data type column and then use a view to cast the value to a Decimal 18,6 (CAST (Col1 as Decimal(18,6))).  We then load the data into a decimal 18,6 column.  The result is 68.833556, which
is the rounded version of the real value.
Personally I prefer the rounded version rather than the truncated version.
I am trying to explain to explain to the QA people why the revised process is producing different results and thus I want to know if these are known behaviors for TSQL Cast and the Data Conversion component.

I think such a post is more suitable for an MS Connect bugs section as I see it a defect. And it seems no floor, but simply cutting off. Try in .Net when you convert, does it work the same? Data Conversion is a wrapper around the .net

  • Difference between value node, model node and recursion node?.

    Hi all,
this is to ask you the difference between modal node, value node and recurrsion node?
    please explain
    Anhitya Kashyap

    hi Anhit,
node can be classified as a value node or model node. The difference between value nodes and model nodes is that a value node can store the data itself, whereas the model node only references an external model object that stores the data.
    more on nodes check this

To make things clear, here are two small examples that show how nasty locals and value properties can be to the naive programmer.
    - Open the diagram of the race condition.vi before running it and try to predict what will be the values of the two counters after the third run.
    - Use the Compare Locals Properties and Wires.vi to find out how slow locals and value properties can be (times 1000+).
This being demonstrated, I must add that I use globals and value properties quite often, because they are often very convenient

  • Difference between Interface node and normal node?

What is the main difference between  Interface node and normal node?
    Cheers
    Aisurya.

    Hi surya,
Interface node or methods comes into picture whenever you want to use one component as used component. I mean to say
Component usages. If you select node as interface node, it will available in another component so you can use that node or methods.
Normal node means in that component only. Simply we can say for component usages we go for interface nodes.

  • Difference between hierarchy node and single value

    Hi experts,
Can anyone explain me the difference between hierarchy node and single value?
    This is my problem:
I have a query that uses a characteristic (0ORGUNIT) with a hierarchy and I execute it without any problem but when I try to set a fliter on this characteristic and I try to find a single value, for example 101, it doesn't appear in the single value list, instead it appears in the hierarchy nodes list in the selection window.
I think I'm confused about both terms because I thought  a hierarchy node was always the one who has one or more values as its lower levels like this:
    A. 10
        A1.  100
        A2.  101
        A3.  102
             A3.1.  1021
    B. 11
I this case I thought , for example, 101 was a single value but not a hierarchy node so I must find it in the single values list in the selection window, however, 102 can be both and must appear in both lists, is it true?
    Thanks in advanced

In BW, hierarchy node with more information compare to the single value. for example, it always carries its father node information, which it belongs to. and some time information if it is time-dependent.
So, when you using hierarchy node, it means at least 2 information: value and "position" (who is its father node)
That's the reason why you see the hierarchy tree when choosing the node.
If you want to expand the hierarchy to the certain level, you can setting in the property. Another choice is restrict in the query designer.

  • Difference between Scan Listener and Node listener

    Hi,
I read the concept of SCAN in 11g R2 Grid Infrastructure. In that i come accross the below statements
" 3 SCAN IP's and 3 SCAN Listeners will be up in the Cluster even if onlu ONE NODE IS UP with Clusterware active. This is BECAUSE SCAN listeners are not like NODE LISTENERS; they simply reroute connections so they do not need an instance to be available beneath them to make a database connections".
Could some one please explan me the difference between Scan Listener and Node listener?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Stephen

The SCAN listener is the new feature in 11g. RAC in 9i and 10g had only node listeners. In earlier releases, the clients had to know each of the node listeners and define load balancing / failover between the node listener.
Each node in the RAC cluster has a TNS Listener listening on the VIP.
The SCAN is a single cluster-wide listener (although actually running as three separate processes, one on each node).. The client now needs to know only the SCAN listener. It does not need information of the node listeners to be maintained in the client-side tnsnames.ora file. SCAN allows for automatic load balancing as the client is directed to the nodes that are "up and able to take new connections" only. Also, as new nodes are added to the cluster, SCAN keeps track of them, the client tnsnames.ora does not need to be updated for new nodes.

  • Difference between value attribute and value attribute under Node in contex

I have very basic question..it might be very simple but it is giving me a problem.
I have created one Node name "Input" and value attribute "Input1" under it.
I have just created one more value attribute named "in1" not under any Node.
I have created two input filed in the my view. One first I have mapped the value in properties
to variables "Input.Input1" and on another "in1".
When I deploy and run the application one Input box is coming as readonly and other is working fine .Will anybody tell me why it is so?

There is no major difference between value attribute and inside a node.
It is a separation of attributes. Usually all the attributes belongs to same purpose will create in one value node. Like, calling one BAPI - requestListBAPI - it contains all the bapi related value attributes.
For your question, one field is read only(Input.Input1), bcz that context is not created. see the context properties.....cardinality will be 0..n. Change the cardinality to 1...n (<b>or</b>) create that context element .
In your implementation create that value node like this in your init method.
    wdContext.createInputElement();
    It will solve your problem.
in1 - is a value attribute, which is mapped to your input element. It wont have any problem.
