Difference between S22acct & K22acct script

Hi,
I found S22acct script is linked with /etc/init.d/acct in run level 2 and K22acct script is linked with /etc/init.d/acct in run level 0. I am having the following queries:
If we transitioned from run level 2 to run level 0, obviously input to /etc/init.d/acct will be stop so it will stop the accounting information by passing stop argument to S22acct script, then why do we need K22acct script in run level 0 as this service is already stopped during transition.
what is the difference between S22acct & K22acct script?
How the system will behave if i didnt create K22acct script?Waiting for the response.
Rgrds,
Ram.

What part of the system do you think does this?
Many services are explicitly stopped prior to machine shutdown so that they can note the shutdown or so that they can clean up log files and close open files.
what is the difference between S22acct & K22acct script? There is no difference in the contents. However S scripts are called with start arguments and K scripts are called with stop arguments.
How the system will behave if i didnt create K22acct script?Upon entering that runlevel, it would not call the script. Or in your example, it would not run '/etc/rc0.d/K22acct stop' when entering run level 0.

Whats the difference between wml & wml script??? Can anyone help me clear my doubts about this topic?
And where can I find online tutorials on WML???
What are the softwares or programmes that i need to create wml???
Lastly, where can I download nokia 3.0 toolkit???
    thanks in advance...

you really need to be posting this elsewhere, preferrably on a non-java topic. that said...
think of WML vs. WMLScript as HTML vs. JavaScript. WML is the markup, byte-compiled and sent to your microbrowser. WMLScript is code that your browser can run to do client-side validation and other manipulations.
tutorials, simulators, etc. are just a web search away.
same for the nokia WAP toolkit--you'll likely have to sign on as a nokia developer, it's free.

  • Difference between SAP GUI scripting and eCATT

    HI,
What is difference between SAP GUI Script and eCATT.
I know that SAP GUI Script can be used for transaction that have activex controls but can we use these script in eCATT also.
      If yes, how?
    Thanks,
    Priya

    Hi Priya,
SAPGUI script will only work from an external program, may be VB or vbScript. ECATT can only execute a fixed set of commands e.g. (TCD, SAPGUI etc) or a block of ABAP code. ECATT can both work in foreground and background mode.
In foreground mode you would be able to see the script running on your frontend whereas background mode will create a job in the SAP system.
You can convert your SAPGUI scripts to SAPGUI commands and execute. If you strictly want to execute SAPGUI script from ECATT then you would have to save the script somewhere on your desktop computer and call it from an ABAP block in ECATT.

  • Differences between COM & JavaScript Scripting

    Hi all,
I have to make a sort of script that populate an InDesign document with some data from a database.
I can do it with a Web Service called in Javascript or in C# with COM.
Do you know the differences between COM and Javascript scripting ?
    What is the best ?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
Would javascript be the recommanded way to go if i want to interop with it without any user interaction?
Out goal is to produce catalogues (from another application , in C# / .net 4.0) which already contains the data. We want to be able to push that data toward indesign so direct com interop seemed to make the most sense.
Is there a way to send javascript commands to indesign from another program (NOT to indesign server and it's web services, we want to do this directly on the locally installed indesign client)?
Also what would be the proper way to send non textual data in indesign? (images etc) from a C# app as those can't simply be serialized as json and passed as text as part of the JS commands.
Doing this in javascript is fine for us too as long as there is a way to pass said javascript from an external app. Or should we look completely elsewhere?
Any means of commanding Indesign CS 5 from .net 4 would be great.
    Best regards.

    Hi,
    Reports:
Used to display the existing data from the database tables for the analysis purpose
    SCRIPTS:
They are the Outgoing documents from an organisation to the outside Partners like vendors and Customers.
Report is basically a program which extracts the data from the database tables based on some inputs and gives the output as a list.
Report are classified as Classical Reports, Interactive Reports and ALV Report.
Classical Report is a normal report which just displays the output.User cannot interact with that report.
Interactive Report is nothing but, a user can interacte with the report. After a basic list is displayed, user can click on some field on the list which generates a secondary list giving the necessary information relevant to that field.
ALV Report is to provide users with a consistent, user friendly and functional method of manipulating the data, which appears on report lists. ALV provides more advantages than the normal report.
SAP scripts is a word processing tool of SAP which has the following components: Standard text. It is like a standard normal documents. Layout sets. - Layout set consists of the following components: Windows and pages, Paragraph formats, Character formats. Creating forms in the R/3 system. Every layout set consists of Header, paragraph, and character string. ABAP/4 program.

  • Script logic: differences between MS and NW?

    Hi to all,
at last SAP Tech Ed I've bought a book on SAP BPC 7, Netweaver version...I did it because I'm already working with the MS version, but I hoped to get a better vision on BPC over NW, and to understand some critical subjects.
One question that I've been wondering is this one: I've found that some script logic examples that I've been able to reuse even in the MS version of BPC, while other won't. For example, I've found the *RUN_ALLOCATION (which I couldn't find in the logic assistent helper installed), and used it happily , and at the same time, I've found the *RUN_PROGRAM, which I don't really get any help from the web. I've found some posts in the NW version, not in the MS.
So: is there any kind of document about the differences between scripting logic for MS and NW?
    Thank you
    Daniele

Between 7.0 M and 7.0 NW we have a document with differences.
But after that new SP or release was bringing new functionalities into NW.
So it is depending what versions you will compare.
Any way you will find key words into NW which are not into M version and oposite.
So my suggestion will be to check the help documentation for version of NW used and to use the key words existing into that version.
Principle of script logic is the same.

  • Difference  between  scripts and  idocs

In real time  why we are  using scripts and idocs?what is the difference between scripts and idocs?pls tell me  where we r using  scripts and  idocs?

    Hi,
IDocs are simple ASCII data streams. When they are stored to a disk file, the IDocs are simple flat files with lines of text, where the lines are structured into data fields. The typical structured file has records, each record starting with a leading string that identifies the record type. Their specification is stored in the data dictionary.
    Electronic Interchange Document
IDocs is the acronym for Interchange Document. This  indicates a set of (electronic) information which builds a logical entity. An IDoc is e.g. all the data of a single customer in your customer master data file, or the IDoc is all the data of a single invoice.
Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
IDoc data is usually exchanged between systems and partners that are completely independent. Therefore, the data should be transmitted in a format that can easily be corrected by the computer operators. It is therefore mandatory to post the data in a human readable form.
Nowadays, this means that data is coded in ASCII format, including numbers which are sent as a string of figures 0 to 9. Such data can easily be read with any text editor on any computer, be it a PC, Macintosh, UNIX System, S/390 or any internet browser.
    IDocs exchange messages
The information which is exchanged by IDocs is called a message and the IDoc is the physical representation of such a message. The name “messages” for the information sent via IDocs is used in the same ways as other EDI standards. .
    Scrpits...
If the user wants to print documents such as invoices, purchase order, all such documents are printed with the use of forms. SAP allows the user to define these forms by using layout sets. SAP script is the tool used to create the layout set.
In order to print the document, the SAP system runs a program that collects the data for the document and feeds it into the layout set. This is called as Print Program.
SAP Provides a standard layout set for every printable document and usually there is no need to create layout sets as such. User just modifies the existing layout sets as per requirement of client.

    Thanks nad Regards ,
    PavanKumar

    Hi
Type 1 - is a report programming it can be executed by both transaction and program (F8). Hence its is also called as Executable program. You can start logical databases together with reports.
Type M - Its a module pool program which is executed only by transaction code.
Scripts - report with GUI interface. we can have graphics, watermark .
SAPscript is a client dependent one.the Transaction for script is SE71.

  • Differences Between Scripts & Smartforms...

    Hi,
In my project any one of the Employee should give sessions on any of the topic every week. So i have decided to give on Scripts & Smartforms. Can any one explain in details the difference between Scripts & Smartforms.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramana.

    hi
Difference with SMARTFORMS vs. SapScript (SE71)
The Following are the differences :-
    a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
    b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
    c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
    d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
    e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
Contributed by : SAP ABAP/4 Programming, Basis Administration, Configuration Hints and Tips
    f) Unlike sapscripts (RSTXSCRP), you cannot upload/download Smartform to your local harddisk.
It was said that it was provided in CRM 3.0 version, but not available in R/3.  You can download smartforms into Local PC in a XML format.  In the same way you can upload this XML format into Smartform.  From the smartform editor itself you can call download option, if you are working in CRM 3.0 environment.
In R3 also, you can download into XML format. However, it's not sure about uploading. Refer to the program 'SF_XSF_DEMO'.
In 4.7 Enterprise, other have seen this utlity which is completey missing in 4.6c. There is functionality to downlaod a complete form or only a particular node. (Utilities -> Download form). It will create a XML file and save it in the hard disk.
For others, if you want to download/upload the Smartforms source, you will need the help from the Basis people.  What you can do is to create a Transport and then FTP down to your local harddisk.   When you need the Smartform source in another system, you have FTP up the Smartforms file back to the SAP server.  Finally, the Basis team, will tp it into your system.
    g) The protect and endprotect command in sapscript doesn't work with smartforms. For example on a invoice: First data of position no 80. is printed on page one, other data of position no 80 is printed on page 2. And there's nothing you can do about it.  Actually, there is something you can do about it.  By using a folder node and checking the 'protect' checkbox, everything in that folder will be page protected.
    i) The main difference is that SAP script is client-dependant, while smartform is independent. Also there are some advanced and intreractive features available in smartforms.
You can use an External subroutine-call in sapscript editor like:
      /: perform <form_name> in program <program_name>
      /: using <var1>
      /: using <var2>
      /: changing <return1>
      /: changing <return2>
      /:endperform
i think it will useful for you.
    Reward points if useful.
    Thanks,
    Usha

  • Is there a performance difference between Automation Plug-ins and the scripting system?

We currently have a tool that, through the scripting system, merges and hides layers by layer groups, exports them, and then moves to the next layer group.  There is some custom logic and channel merging that occasionally occurs in the merging of an individual layer group.  These operations are occuring through the scripting system (actually, through C# making direct function calls through Photoshop), and there are some images where these operations take ~30-40 minutes to complete on very large images.
Is there a performance difference between doing the actions in this way as opposed to having these actions occur in an automation plug-in?
    Thanks,

Thanks for the reply.    I ended up just benchmarking the current implementation that we are using (which goes through DOM from all indications, I wasn't the original author of the code) and found that accessing each layer was taking upwards of 300 ms.  I benchmarked iterating through the layers with PIUGetInfoByIndexIndex (in the Getter automation plug-in) and found that the first layer took ~300 ms, but the rest took ~1 ms.  With that information, I decided that it was worthwhile rewriting the functionality in an Automation plug-in.

  • Difference between ';' and '/' in the SQL scripts

    Hi All,
Could anyone please let me know the difference between placing ';' and '/' in the sql scripts.
I am placing couple of insert statements in a textfile with .sql extension and running it from the sql prompt.
Which one( ';' or '/') should be keep at the end of each statement in the script.
    SQL> SELECT SYSDATE FROM DUAL;
    SYSDATE
    12-MAY-13
    SQL> SELECT SYSDATE FROM DUAL
      2  /
    SYSDATE
    12-MAY-13Thanks,

My doubt is how it understands or the difference b/w the below two view statements one with ';' and another one with '/'. Sorry if i am unclear. They are identical in SQL*Plus. These characters mean "+send entered/buffered text to Oracle to parse and execute+".
So - SQL*Plus sends "+create or replace view ev1 as select ename , sal from emp+" to the server (via a cursor execute):
create or replace view ev1 as select ename , sal from emp
/And again, SQL*Plus sends "+create or replace view ev1 as select ename , sal from emp+" to the server (via a cursor execute):
create or replace view ev2 as select ename , sal from emp; These are identical statements.
As I mentioned in the post I referred you to. Oracle also uses the ";" character in the PL/SQL language. So when you enter PL/SQL code in SQL*Plus, you do not want SQL*Plus to send each line of PL/SQL code to the server. Instead, you want it to wait till the last statement has been entered and then send the the whole block to the server to be parsed and executed,
SQL*Plus has a basic parser itself. It uses that to figure out what you have entered, and whether a ";" you enter is an instruction from you to it, to send the text to the server - or when you enter a ";", it is part of the text for the server and that it should not react to it.
Thus when you enter the following, SQL*Plus recognises that you are using the SQL language, and as this language does not use ";" characters, a ";" character when entered means that it needs to send the text to the server to be parsed and executed:
    SQL> select * from emp;
// ; character instructs SQL*Plus to create and execute cursor "select * from emp"When you enter PL/SQL code, SQL*Pus recognises that and knows that ";" characters entered indicates end-of-statement for PL//SQL and that it should not act on that,
    SQL> begin
      2    null;
      3  end;
      4  /
// SQL*Plus ignores the ";" character - and the "/" character is used to
// instruct SQL*Plus to create and execute cursor"begin<LF>null;><LF>end;"

Scripts are client dependent whereas smartforms aren't.
Upto 99 main windows are possible in scripts and only one in smarforms.
To create multiple main windows in scripts, you just have to give the window type as MAIN whnever you create a window.
Scripts still exists but smartforms are in use from 4.6c version, now the lastest version of these two is adobe forms
SAP Smart Forms is introduced in SAP Basis Release 4.6C as the tool for creating and maintaining forms.SAP Smart Forms allow you to execute simple modifications to the form and in the form logic by using simple graphical tools; in 90% of all cases, this won't include any programming effort. Thus, a power user without any programming knowledge can
configure forms with data from an SAP System for the relevant business processes.
    Advantages of SAP Smart Forms
SAP Smart Forms have the following advantages:
    1. The adaptation of forms is supported to a large extent by graphic tools for layout and logic, so that no programming knowledge is necessary (at least 90% of all adjustments). Therefore, power user forms can also make configurations for your business processes with data from an SAP system. Consultants are only required in special cases.
    2. Displaying table structures (dynamic framing of texts)
    3. Output of background graphics, for form design in particular the use of templates which were scanned.
    4. Colored output of texts
    5. User-friendly and integrated Form Painter for the graphical design of forms
    6. Graphical Table Painter for drawing tables
    7. Reusing Font and paragraph formats in forms (Smart Styles)
    8. Data interface in XML format (XML for Smart Forms, in short XSF)
    9. Form translation is supported by standard translation tools
    10. Flexible reuse of text modules
    11. HTML output of forms (Basis release 6.10)
    12. Interactive Web forms with input fields, pushbuttons, radio buttons, etc. (Basis-Release 6.10)

    Hi Tonguç,
Your AQ have four subcriber. "State" column value chances* after all subscribers dequeue the message.
On the other hand, you won't see this result because of retention parameter. if you don't set retention time, message deleted from queue after dequeueing.
    Look at "retention_time"
    ex :
    EXEC dbms_aqadm.alter_queue(
    queue_name => 'AQ_MARKETING_DATA_QUEUE',
    retention_time => dbms_aqadm.INFINITE);
also you can set this parameter when creating your queue

  • Difference between scripts and smartforms

    Dear Experts,
I require a same example or tutorials for scripts and smartforms, to know its exact difference. can any one provide me with that.
    Regards,
    CHK

    Hi,
SAPscript technology is based on a mainframe product from the 1980s, while Smart Forms have only been around since (roughly) 2001. With that sort of time gap, there are bound to be significant differences between the two tools. Client dependence is a fundamental one. Although SAPscript has had some incremental improvements over time, its forms have always been -- under the hood -- relatively ...
    1. script is client dependent one while smartform is client independent.
    2. In scripts we have to write print program while in smart forms it is not necessary.
    3. In scripts we can print background logo while in smartforms we cant print background logo
    4. In scripts we have 99 main windows while in smartforms we have only 1 main window.
    5. In scripts we should write paragraph format otherwise we cant execute program while in smartforms no need to create paragraph formats .
    6. In scripts we can print the text in only two character formats.
while in smartforms we can do with more.
    7. In scripts we dont have line types while in smartforms we have linetypes.
the main diffarences between smart form and script form are:
    1) smart forms are clinent independent where as scripts are client dependent.
    2) smart form require half the time to create and maintain forms compare with
    script.
    3) smart forms provide multiple page formats where as in script not possible
    4) smart forms exisist without main window also where as in script not possible.
    5) smart form is entairely graphical user interface comapre with script.
    6) labeling is not possible in smart form where as it is possible in script.
    7) smart form genarate function module whenver it activate where as script
    doesn't genarate.
    8) smart form can easily web publishing using the genarated XML output compare
    with script.
    9) using smart forms we can design web forms but bot possible with script.
    10) we can maintain background graphics in smartform wher as in script not
    possible.
    11) in smart form we use transaction codes SMARTFORM for designing FORM
and SMARTSTYLES to create differnt styles of text, where as in script we
use SE71 for form painter and SE72 for different styles of text and font.
    12) we can migrate script to smart form vice-versa is not possible.
    Regards,
    Priyanka.
