Difference in space occupied by NUMBER(38,0) and NUMBER(10,0)

Hi,
I will like to know if there is any difference in storage space occupied by NUMBER(38,0) and NUMBER(10,0) if I store whole numbers less than 100,000,000 in it. I remember of having read it that it will occupy same storage space but I will appreciate if someone can explain why is it so.
Thanks,
Akshay.

  • Differences in space occupied by music on iphone

    Hello,
I am finding differences in the space occupied by music on my iphone, depending on where I look. If I stand on the "summary" tab, I see 24.03 GB of music; if I go to the music library in my iphone, however, I see 19.56 GB. I used the convert to 128 kbps option, but this issues are restricted to the iphone only (my main library is OK). I do not have other audio media different from my music, so I don't know what could be occupying those extra 4GB. What could be happening? How can I get that space back?

I am finding the same issue. My iTunes library says it is 6826 items 25.89GB which includes some songs that are a higher bit rate than 128kbps. When I sync my iPhone 4, I have it checked to covert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC. I also have a few items not checked to transfer over. When I sync, my iPhone 4 says there are 6,811 items and the capacity bar shows that audio is taking up 27.30GB. So there is about 1.5GB difference there, especially when you factor in some downsizing of songs and not syncing a few more. I know that's a lot of songs but I cannot imagine that album artwork could take up that much space. Obviously I'd like to figure out what causes the discrepancy as 1.5GB is a lot of space.

  • How to calculate the exact space occupied by table

    Hi,
I am deleting the data in tables such as DBTABLOG and SRRELROLES.
Until and unless I do a re-org I will not get the free space back but how do I estimate the freed up space before doing a re-org.
As of now I calculate the space occupied by the multiplying the number of records in the actual table with the average row length of each record (stats from DB02)... but the calculation does not match the actual size occupied by the table...
    Please help me here

    Hi Grame,
In order to calculate the space utilized by a table you can do the following :
    1) Logon as orasid or sidadm user.
    2) Connect to the DB as sysdba user.
    3) Run the follwoing query :
    SQL> select OWNER,TABLESPACE_NAME, segment_name, bytes/1024/1024 MB from dba_segments  Where segment_type = 'TABLE' and Segment_Name='DBTABLOG';
    Expected output :
    OWNER        TABLESPACE_NAME  SEGMENT_NAME             MB
    SAPR3                  PSAPPROTD               DBTABLOG                          10.015625
    Hope this helps.

    Deoraj Alok.

  • Hiding a Field and removing the space occupied by it.

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where i need to hide one field at line level in Custom Form. The line level block is having a folder.
I should not use folder property to hide the field. The field should be hidden whenever the form is opened AND SPACE OCCUPIED BY THE FIELD SHOULD NOT BE VISIBLE. i.e other fields should move left wards.
    can anyone help me please.............

    Hi Franc..
Thanks for the prompt reply.. I have done it using form personalization.. I used global variable folder_action. First i copied 'CUT' into this global variable then i executed folder_action using builtin execute_trigger.
Thanks again for the prompt reply......

  • Difference between free space reported by my iPod Touch and iTunes

Why is so different the free space reported by my iPod Touch and iTunes?, which of both devices is reporting the correct free space?
also, I restored my iPod two days ago because "other" space was too big (almost a gig),
three days later, is over 500Mb, why is this happening?, thanks.
On the pic you can see the difference between the free space reported by my iPod (403 MB) and iTunes (0.29Gb)

I took the pic when I finished syncing, so that shouldn't be an issue, no matter how many times I sync, free space is never equal (iPod always reports more space).
I'm running iOS 5.0.1 and I restored three days ago because iTunes said I was out of space to sync (and my iPod reported over 100Mb free).
As you can see from the pic, I only have 9 apps, I mainly use this iPod for music. I'm using the AAC option to fit more songs.
I really like this iPod, but as a music player. I had a first generation iPod Touch and "other" space never was an issue, I still have warranty, but I don't know if I should take this iPod to the store because of this, because it seems to be a software issue.
Just deleted my emails from the iPod and gained 10 Mb, I don't know what else can I do.

  • Oracle not using space occupied by flashback logs

    Hi,
    oracle 10g R2 10.2.0.1 on RHEL 4 64-bits.
my db_flashback_retention_target is set to 1440 and my db_recover_file_dest_size is set to 40G.
flashback logs are occupying about 36G so whenever rman tries to backup the database, it breaks saying it cannot reclaim enough space from the 40G limit.
when checking the flashback logs,i saw that the DB is keeping 3 day old logs. should it not reclaim the space occupied by these logs and delete them?

Others have reported similar issues: http://www.wayneadamsconsulting.com/
    >
One thing that I have not seen the database do, however, is delete reclaimable flashback logs in order to make room for a backup. If there is not enough free space in you FRA for a backup but there is plenty of space used by relcaimable flashback logs, RMAN and the database will not delete flashback logs to free up room in the FRA for the backup. This seems like a fairly large gap in the flashback log functionality, but hopefully Oracle will handle it in a future release.
    >
See MOS note: Space issue in Flash Recovery Area( FRA ) [ID 829755.1] .
Note also that 10.2.0.1 is a old 10.2 release and that you could consider upgrading to 10.2.0.4.

Is there any relation between data tablespace and index tablespace.??

well, in _segments you have all the segments, just filter on the type (index) and SUM that. That's what I would do anyway.

I added an SSD to my 27" 2011 iMac.  Although Sahidus is absolutely correct, it is much easier to add an SSD replacing the optical drive, it wasn't that bad to add it using an entirely seperate cable using SATA-III.  To me it is worth the extra hassle to install a SATA-III SSD.  This is where you are going to get maximum performance.
Although it appears complicated, if you go slow, the procedure to install an SSD drive isn't too bad.  It takes at most 3 hours, as long as you are prepared and have all the parts and tools.
    http://www.btobey.com/learn/imac-ssd-install.php
This describes how I did it.  Now I get awesome data performance from my iMac!
I think the 21.5" may be more difficult to find where to place the SSD.  But im sure it is possible.  Just be creative.

  • Space occupied by tables.

    Hi everybody,
I want to know some info regarding the memory space occupied by each and every individual table. DB02 transaction gives me the entire staticstics and not the statistics of space used by each and every individual table. is there any transaction or any other location n SAP where i can find this info?? i also need to know when a table was used last.. for example if i am using a select statement on a table i want to know the time and date when it happened. is there any transaction or any place where these info gets stored??? please let me know as quickly as possible.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • How to measure time difference between zero crossing of a sine wave and rise time of a pulse on a same graph?

I have a 50Hz sine wave and a pulse signal on a same graph. The phase difference between two is between 0-90 degrees.
Now I need to calculate the time difference between (when the sine wave crosses zero volts) and (when the pulse rises). The frequency will stay approximately same for both signals.
The application is for a three phase generator. In simple words, when the time difference between the zero-crossing of sine wave and the pulse rises increases, that means that the load on the generator has increases.
I am a beginner user of LabView (version 9, 2009), maybe it is a very simple problem but I've been pulling my hair out for the last few days and coudln't figure anything out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using DAQ USB-6008 to measure these voltages and pulse from the generator and a sensor
I have attached a jpg (a graph that i just made with excel to explain). The time 't' is what I am trying to measure

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi
Thanks for the code but I'm afraid it won't work. Like you said the probability of choosing a value that is on both graphs may not happen. This is something that I would like the code to do automatically.
But I did use the previous code posted and made some modifications to it and it seems to work perfectly. Now the next thing is to be able to get just that one value that tells you the first time difference.
Here is what I get using that code.
As you can see from the t Values. I only need the one that is highlighted. If there is a way to filter out the rest it would be great.
I was thinking of a while loop and as soon as the value is higher than 3E-5 it would store the number and stop the loop, but I'm not too familiar with arrays in labview.
Here is the the code modified.
As you can see, it wasn't that big of a modification and it still is your code.
    I will keep trying.
    Thanks for the help

  • Differences between Oracle Forms 11.1.1.6  and 11.1.2

    Hello !
Which version should I choose 11.1.2 or 11.1.1.6
11.1.2 must me the latest one aka 11gR2
    11.1.1.6 must be 11gR1 PS5
    Am i right ?
but in the forms home page it seems that the 11.1.1.6 is the latest version ??
    Oracle Forms 11.1.1.6 Released
The latest version of Oracle Forms (11.1.1.6) has been released.
This can be downloaded from My Oracle Support (MOS)
    23-Feb-2012
Oracle Forms 11g Release 2 has been released. Read about the new features.
    Oct-2011
I suppose that in a MiddleWare stack : SOA suite + BI publisher + Forms, the 11.1.1.6 (11gR1 PS5) is the best choice.
Can somebody explain me the differences between Oracle Forms 11.1.1.6 and 11.1.2 ?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Jean-Yves

There are many new features in 11.1.2.0 that do not exist in 11.1.1. Some of the most significant new features are listed in the 11gR2 New Features documentation found on this page:

Additional information about new features and changes can be found in the product documentation for 11gR2, which is here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/index.htm
One important thing to note is that FMw 11.1.2 (11gR2) does not include Portal or Discover. So if you need either or both of these you will need to stick with 11.1.1.Hi Michael,
One of the features which is very very important in my point of view is
    Reduced Installation Footprint
In order to reduce the resource requirements on development machines, you can perform an
installation specifically tailored for development. This will limit the number of software products
and servers installed on the machine whilst still allowing a developer to build, run and test their
    Forms application.
If this feature is only available for the 11.1.2 release then the choice is made !
    Thanks !
    Jean-Yves
ps : and we don't use any portal or discoverer :-)

  • What is the difference between jdk version 1.3.1-b24 and 1.3.1_02-b02?

    Hi,
This is a weird question. But I really need to know the difference between jdk vesion 1.3.1-b24 and 1.3.1_02-b02.
    Anyone has a clue?
    Thanks
    Wayne

This is a weird question. But I really need to know
the difference between jdk vesion 1.3.1-b24 and
    1.3.1_02-b02.Bug fixes only.
When reading the strings above, ignore the part saying "-b##" (that's the build number). So you're looking at 1.3.1 (the base release), and 1.3.1_02 (patch 02 on 1.3.1).

  • DIfference Between User Exits, Screen Exits, Menu Exits And BADI

Could any one let me know the exact/practical dIfference Between User Exits, Screen Exits, Menu Exits And BADI. ? And why BADIs are more proned to use?

    Hi,
    User Exits:
A user exit is a three character code that instructs the system to access a program during system processing.
SXX: S is for standard exits that are delivered by SAP.   XX represents the 2-digit exit number.
UXX: U is for user exits that are defined by the user.  XX represents the 2-digit exit number
    Menu Exits:
Menu exits add items to the pulldown menus in standard SAP applications. You can use these menu items to call up your own screens or to trigger entire add-on applications.
SAP creates menu exits by defining special menu items in the Menu Painter. These special entries have function codes that begin with "+" (a plus sign). You specify the menu item’s text when activating the item in an add-on project.
    Screen Exits:
Screen exits add fields to screens in R/3 applications. SAP creates screen exits by placing special subscreen areas on a standard R/3 screen and calling a customer subscreen from the standard screen’s flow logic.
    BADIs:
Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
And why BADIs are more proned to use?
In contrast to above customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions), but instead allow for a multi-level system landscape (SAP, partner, and customer solutions, as well as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time. In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to control add-in implementation and make it dependent on specific criteria (on a specific Country value, for example).
All ABAP sources, screens, GUIs, and table interfaces created using this enhancement technique are defined in a manner that allows customers to include their own enhancements in the standard. A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task.
The actual program code is enhanced using ABAP Objects. In order to better understand the programming techniques behind the Business Add-In enhancement concept, SAP recommends reading the section on ABAP Objects.
