Differences between Browserlab ie7 & ie developer tools browsermode: ie7 + onion skin problem

Hi,
I've just noticed display differences between what I see in browserlab for ie7 and what I see using ie9, but in browsermode:ie7.  I would have thought they would show the same as both are supposed to represent what the webpage would look like in ie 7.  Please can someone explain:
a) why they should be different,
b) which is the correct one.
Basically the Menu is perfect in BLab, but is floated left in browsermode:ie7.
There is nothing out of the ordinary in the code for this page, just html, css, a tiny bit of javascript & some php.
I am using windows 7 on a PC and the problem occurs if I use BLab through Firebug or directly from Dreamweaver.
The url is my old site that I am in the middle of updating, but I still get the same error with the new site that I am testing locally:
http://www.laughingrabbit.co.uk/
Kind regards
I am also having a problem with the onion skin feature, which I had about 2 months ago, but which then went when I deleted the cache and rebooted - no such luck this time.
When I try and show 2 browser views over each other, only one will show when I slide the slider bar making direct comparison impossible - both views stay the same as the one on the left.
eg try http://www.laughingrabbit.co.uk/contact.html  The corners of the form should be rounded only in later versions of ie, as it isn't supported in earlier version.
It is the same either through the main BL interface or Dreamweaver.
I have tried closing down BL, deleting cache etc (the usual stuff), but it doesn't make any difference.  I work on a PC.
Has anyone else had issue with this and if so, how did you solve it.
AND YES, I AM SLIDING THE SLIDER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT and all over, but ti makes no difference
regards
Bek

hi Mark,  Here is one example, on my new site.  I have used css3 to round the tabs in the navigation which works for FF5, but obviously not for ie7, but no matter how much I slide the slider accross the image (and the tabs) never change.  i get the same whenever I try and use onionskin at the moment - the image doesn't change from the one on the left hand side.  If I swapped FF5 & ie7 round (as per the image) then the rounded tabs change to square as you would expect in ie7, but don't change to rounded as you slide the slider to the FF5 side.
kind regards

  • Difference between XML Publisher and Other tools like Aventx

    Hi,
Please bear with my newbie question. From all the XMLP documentation that I have read, it seems like XMLP is the tool that I would need to distribute my ERP information either through print/fax/email etc. However, I have also been hearing about tools like Aventx which is a layer above XMLP and helps in delivering documents through fax/email etc.
What basically is the difference between XMLP and these other tools? Can I not just have XMLP sitting on top of my ERP and have my documents delivered without investing in these other 3rd party tools?
    Thanks,
    itzmey

    Hi Itzmey
THe short answer is yes you could avoid the 3rd parties but, there is always a but. XMLP with extract the data, format the data and generate the ouput all completely integrated with the rest of the Apps techstack. However for the delivery you are going to have to write some custom code to get the documents out of the system i.e. we have not integrated the delivery of docs with the conc manager yet ... no I dont have a timeline at the moment. I wrote a series of articles on the blog about delivering from EBS http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher. Its not that tough but its a custom solution.
AventX and others fill that gap we have admirably. Yes, its a thrid party solution but its a very well thought out and integrated solution that they will support you on, etc.
So its up to you, custom or third party.

  • Difference between "Set to 'In Development'" and "Reset Status to 'In Dev."

In the action profile SDHF_ACTIONS which is the difference between the action IN_PROCESS and TESTED_AND_NOT_OK. The first one has only the processing parametere USER_STATUS, while the second one has the processing parameters USER_STATUS and RESET_STATUS=X. How does it works the processing parameters RESET_STATUS? The TESTED_AND_NOT_OK action could be defined like IN_PROCESS or the RESET_STATUS is an important parameter?
    Thanks
    Antonello

    Hey Antonello,
Please note that both the actions will set the status of the transaction to 'In development'.
To differenciatate between the two, SAP has used this distinction.
When you use action IN_PROCESS , then you will  get the prompt for the Transport requeest creation.
When you use action 'TESTED_AND_NOT_OK', you will not get the prompt for new transport request ( As you should have already created it by now ).
Using that Parameter 'RESET_STATUS', SAP decides programatically whether the prompt for the ' New Transport Request' should be given to the user or not
Reward if this post was usefull.
    Revert for any clarifcations

  • Difference between Productive edition and Developer edition

    Hi,
what is the difference between SAP NW CE 7.1 installed in Developer edition and Productive Edition.
1)If we are planning for a three system landscape like SAP ERP instances with dev-qas and prd which edition
should we be going ahead with ?
    2) In productive edition, can't we install sap nw developer studio like we can do in developer edition.
    3) In a 3 tier landscape can we have a mix of editions ie DEV with developer edition and PRD in production edition..
    Please reply.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    Hi,
The difference is mainly that the productive edition is compliant to the usual SAP system layout(sapmnt/saploc shares, users, groups, etc.) while in the development edition these are skipped. From the functional perspective they should be identical.
In addition I AFAIK 32 bit windows is generally not supported for production (because of memory management issues) while 64-bit is not supported for development (IDE).
    On your questions:
    1) I guess development for developers, production for the rest.
    2) I don't think the dev studio is supported on 64-bit.
    3) No problem here. However if you're about to need system copy (for example to clone productive system data into dev/qa environment) it will not work for development edition. Have this in mind when you plan your landscape.
    Hope this helps !
    Best regards, dido

  • Difference between a brush and a tool preset

    Hi folks,
I know this is a rookie question, so please bear with me.
A friend just sent me a .tpl fiile, and I put it into my tool preset folder.  It is a fantastic brush/pencil.  My question is:  the .tpl file, when I loaded it, seemed to have a brush texture associated with it already.  Is that true?  Or were the tool presets simply being added to a standard brush?  If that is true, when I select the preset from the tool preset dropdown on the tool bar, how do I know what brush that preset is applied to?
In short, I guess I don't understand how a preset can be applied to a brush that isn't in my current brush set.
    Thanks for any help!
    dppc

It would appear a Tool Preset can contain a Brush tip without it being represented in the Brush Presets Panel.
Just look at the size of a single Tool Preset saved out compared to the Brush Preset of the same Brush Preset saved out.

There is a seperate Runtime version for every release of LabVIEW.  You can open up NI MAX and expand software to see what is installed in your computer.
Is it only for viewing VIs built in LabVIEW developer version?
Without the development environment, you cannot edit LabVIEW VIs.  The Runtime Engine is responsible for actually running the code so you can build LabVIEW programs into executables and run them on other machines without the development environment.
Can't we develope or edit VIs in RTE version of LabVIEW?
    No

One more thing, if you do not have the hard drive icon on the desktop you can get it there by:
click on the desktop so the menu bar says Finder next to the apple logo, click Finder, then Preferences, General, Show These Items on desktop and check the hard disks:
That makes life a lot easier when you want to find out information.

  • Difference between Solution Manager and SAP CTS

    Hi,
I am having trouble understanding what is the difference between the two. Which tool is recommanded to use?
    Thx in advance,
    regards
Edited by: Bob Thiouwz on Apr 3, 2008 12:47 PM

    Hi,
search on SDN u will get more helpful answers.
Solution manager is a tool which is used for maintaing a project related documents.
    refer the below link:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ce89c290-0201-0010-5985-dd64605111fd

    /people/community.user/blog/2006/12/07/organize-and-perform-testing-using-solution-manager
CTS is the change and transport system used to transport Xi objects.
refer the bleow link for more detail:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/80bbbd55-5004-2a10-f181-8bb096923cb6
The XI use case for CTS+ introduces a new transport handling mechanism that offers tighter integration for the transport of ABAP, Java, and Integration Builder objects (Integration Repository and Integration Directory) using the Change and Transport System (BC-CTS) functionality.
As your XI system requires both the ABAP and the Java stack of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, the following transport tools are available after installation:
    The ABAP transport environment (BC-CTS)
The file export and import mechanisms or CMS integration to transport Repository or Directory objects in your transport landscape
In addition, you might also have to transport Java development objects by using the SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure itself.
The enhancements to CTS in combination with the SAP Solution Manager Change Request Management (ChaRM) address the following issues:
Synchronized transports for mixed systems (ABAP & Java)
A unified application for mixed system landscapes
Tracking of non-ABAP transports including Change Request Management
For your XI landscapes there will be one central transport environment with CTS+ where you can manage all XI-relevant transport objects from a single entry point.

  • Difference between database and application

can any one tell me difference between oracle database and oracle application?
    plz

BUT THE REAL PROBLEM is :-i want to connect that database..
i can't see my imported application or database..
Tell,, should i create any database or what should i
do..tell me detail step by step processFirst and foremost, you have a terminology problem. I will provide a working set of definitions. (But I fully expect to be corrected by some of the symantic specialists.)
    - A database, in Oracle's terms, is a set of files.
    - Inside of that database are a number of schemas, or collections of object definitions,
    - Some of those objects are tables, which may contain data.
    - The database is manipulated by an instance, or collection of processes and/or threads
    - An application connects to the instance and requests specific manipulation.
In your case, you used the imp application, connecting to the XE database using the userid 'system' to import the schema objects from the schema 'jadi' to the schema 'yogesh'.
You could now use the application called SQLPlus to connect to the XE database - possibly using user "system" - to inspect the objects and object data imported in schema yogesh.
You might also be able to use the Application Express browser-based application to access the data in the various schemas. To do that we would need to explore other terminology such as "workspace"
I would encourage you to use the documentation at http://www.oracle.com/pls/xe102/homepage and perhaps search for the tutorial on the Products page (see the products link on the documentation page.)

  • Difference between service and communication user

    Hi,
We ran into a big problem in our CRM system getting millions of Dynpro_Send_in_background dumps while processing inbound queues R3AD* from R/3 system to CRM. Lots of Updates getting failed with CRM_SCHEDLIN_UPDATE_DU function module while executing report LCRM_SCHEDLIN_DUU01.
Error Details - CRM_ORDER_MISC 002: Error in updating object SCHEDLIN
We posted to SAP as well but did not find root cause. SAP saying we need to change RFC user "S_ECC_PR0400" from Service user to Communication user, that would stop the dump problem.
I want to know what is the unique difference between these users(Service & Comm) which will resolve the dump problem though I know the common difference between these users.
    Thanks
    Anju

    Hi Anju ,
    Communication 'C' User :
Use the user type Communikation for dialog-free communication between systems (for RFC or CPIC service users of different applications, for example, ALE, Workflow, TMS ZBV).
    Dialog logon is not possible.
    Service 'S' User :
A user of type Service is a dialog user available to a large anonymous set of users. It usually has closely-restricted authorizations.
Service users are e.g. used for anonymous system access via an ITS service. You can change a session which began as an anonymous session with a service user into a personal session under a dialog user with an individual authentification.
There is no check for obsolete/initial passwords at logon. Only the user administrator can change the password.
    Multiple logon is allowed.
    Hope this may help you.
    Thanks
    Gyan

  • Difference between Reboot and Power OFF/ON

    Hi Community,
in a forum a User is reporting serious problems after an update to the actual major release 10.6.5. He said if he boot the system in safe mode everything works as expected, after a reboot the same but after a power off and on again, the system is freezing after the login.
Now I'm searching for the difference between this two start methods, maybe we can isolate the problem a bit easier.
    Thx & Bye Tom

If the operating system is running when the power button is used to stop the computer, this can do great harm to the disk by not allowing all of the data to be written to disk as it should be.
Yes I agree but this wasn't what I'm asking for. The question is why the system works fine as long as the User proceed a normal reboot and why it is broke after a shutdown. I don't believe that the User enforce a dirty shutdown after he boot the system in safe mode. But sure, if he boot the system after a shutdown, and the system is freezing, than he have to proceed a dirty shutdown. What else could he do?
