Different Canvases or Output based on DESFORMAT

How do you produce a different layout of a report based on the desformat? I have a report that will show different columns based on the desformat. If the desformat is spreadsheet then the report has five additional columns as with HTML which will show three less columns. Is this possible? I was thinking that once the application reads the desformat and the user hits the SUBMIT button, then, a different report will pull up based on the desformat the user chooses. However, I would like to create one report and avoid having multiples.

Different Report Output based on different tabstrips on selection screen

Hi all,
I have a selection screen which has 3 tabstrips.
The screen nos are 101,102 and 103.
Now in each tab there are different input parameters and based on each tab there will be 3 different outputs.
i.e when I click on tab1 and give the required inputs i will get 1 report output.
similarly I will get different ouput in the other 2 tabs.
Can any one suggest some solution how to achieve this.

Adapgt the sample provided, and in the START-OF-SELECTON event add a CASE/WHEN to execute whichever report you want based on mytab-dynnr value.

2-I made three queries Q1,Q2 & Q3 and linked them with proper field links but suppose Q3 returns no records for some Q1&Q2 records & when the report runs for delimited options it reflects only those records as output for which all the queries return records(if Q3 returns no record then the related records from queries Q1,Q2 don't reflect) while the output in desformat=html or pdf is ok..
can you please resolve my problems
( I have installed patch 5a in my report server machine)

experience, Oracle html output has too many
columns, which are not visible in the
browser but are obvious in Excel.)
We build our own html programmatically, so
that Excel matches the browser more closely.

How to group the output based on DAYS field

Hi
I am modifying the predefined ALV report "RFTMBL01" .I had added the days field to that report output and I have to group the output based on the DAYS field
Records within 0-10 days in one group
Records within 10-30 days in one group
Records above 30 days should be one group
No of days may repeat that means with no of days 10 .many records will be there
There is also a field by name "AMOUNT" in my output.
I have to calculate SUBTOTALs at the end of every group and at the end of the report i should caluculate GRAND TOTAL.
Please remember that i should not use any any BLOCKED ALVs and for Totals i should not use the SYMBOLS provided in the application toolbar of the report

Setting time critical digital output based on axis position (PCI-7358)

HI,
I need to set a time critical digital output based on encoder position (this will switch fast acting valves). I was planning to try the general purpose DIO but I can't find any examples, I have been through the manuals, searched the site etc. Where can I find help with this, all the examples only seem to deal with digital input triggering or RTSI? I'm thinking of an onboard program that just monitors encoder positions and sets digital outputs.
Some time back I seem to remember reading that general purpose DIO should not be used for time critical operations, is that correct? And if so what are the other options - RTSI going to another DIO board? The DIO really needs to be deterministic, is RTSI the only option?

Even with an onboard program you will always get a delay of several milliseconds between your axis has crossed the position and until the digital outputs are set. If this is ok for you then you could choose this approach.
For the case that you only want to toggle one digital line the Breakpoint feature should be the best solution as it toggles the breakpoint output almost immediately when the breakpoint positions are reached.
If you need to change a whole pattern instead of only a single line then the approach you mentioned would be the best solution (RTSI and high-speed DIO like the 653x boards). Combine this approach with the breakpoint feature by routing the breakpoint output to RTSI and using this as a update clock signal for the DIO board.

Control analog output based on analog input

Dear forumers,
I am pretty new to the labview programming so excuse me if this was posted before.
I use: Labview 8.5 + PCI 6229
I want to create a real time feedback: to control analog output based on analog input. The task is very simple - if the ai1 (analog input 1) voltage is larger than a constant, then decrease the voltage of the ao1 (analog output 1) by a constant. Otherwise increase the voltage of ao1 by the same constant.
All should work for 10 seconds.
I have tried to implement this using 2 daq asistants and various methods. The problem is that I get the whole signal recorded from the ai1 ( 10 seconds) and then modified and released to the output (another 10 seconds). The execution takes 20 seconds instead of 10 and it is not realtime at all.
Is it a must to make vi in "run continuous" mode to make it work ?
Please help :}.

You simply don't understand the underlying paradigm of LabVIEW -
dataflow. You have a dependency between the first DAQ Assistant and the
second. The second simply will not start until the first finishes. There
is no way around that given your condition that the output depends on
what you read.
If you want 1 millisecond response time then you will have to swithc to a real-time OS. Windows does not have that kind of resolution and there is way to much jitter.

Setting up a different printer for a delivery output based on the sales grp

Hi All,
Is there a way to send delivery output to a specific printer based on the sales group in the delivery document apart from the normal printer maintained in VV22 for that output type.
I have seen printer determination based on plant and storage location combination but not specific to any other fields.

In the output determination for delivery. check whether there is SALES GROUP in the condition table (field catelog).
Else you may add this field (have done in pricing and it requires adding the new field to some pricing tables.. similarly we might need to add this new field in the output tables also)
If adding this new field works well, then i hope we can set the printer for this combination in the condition record.

How to determine output based on the content of purchase order

Hi Gurus,
I've a typical requirement at my present project. With vendor X we have punchout catalogs. while creation of shopping cart, we are not allowing the user to mix catalog items and non catalog items into the same shopping cart. Once the shopping cart all shopping carts are automatically coverted into PO.
Now the challenge we are facing is, if the PO is created based on items from catalog, we want to send such PO via XML interface to the vendor. If the PO is created based of items which are free-form, we want to send such PO via Smartform email attachment.
As this condition can only be determined at runtime, I'm finding a challenge to configure this. In both PO cases, vendor is same but the content of the PO is different. One contains all items that are catalog based and other contains items which are non catalog.
Can someone help me find solution for this issue.

You can use the Business Add-In BBP_OUTPUT_CHANGE_SF to override the Smart Forms that are defined in the activity Define Actions for Document Output.
This BAdI serves as an alternative to the IMG activity Condition-Dependent Document Output.
Note that no Smart Forms are used for output via XML.

Generate counter output based on a digital trigger

I am trying to output a train of pulse based on a digital trigger (GO bit). When the GO bit goes high, I want to output a pulse train after an initial delay (ie: 2 seconds). When the GO bit goes low, I want to stop this pulse train. When the GO bit goes high again, I want to start the same pulse train with the same initial delay.
The output pulse train has 2 frequencies so I am using 2 counters that generate the same pulse but one of them is delayed by a certain amount. Then I combine the output from both counters into one output using simple BNC T connector. Since I am using 2 counters (max # of counters available to me), I can't create a finite pulse train.
If I use a pause trigger, the only problem is that the second time the GO bit goes high, the initial delay is not used (each channel or counter has a different delay).
So far the only way I can think of is by software timing the counter (by counting the time since the task has started) and stopping the task once certain amount of time has passed. Then I wait for a second trigger which should start the pulse train again with the initial delay.
Is there a better way to do this?

One more thing:
Is there any way to use a digital trigger that is based on two different digital signals ANDed together? I basically want to output the pulses when 2 digital inputs are binary 1 at the same time.

Different Web Template selection based on query selection values entered

Dear Experts,
We have a very unique requirement in our BI7 system.
There is a web report which comprises of multiple queries and query views embedded in web templates. There are 2 selection parameters F1 and F2 that appear on executing the report.
Our requirement is to display a unique web template to the user based upon his selections. If user enters values for both the fields F1 and F2 then we want to display report output from query views in web template T1.
If user enters value for only field F1 and keeps F2 value blank, then we want to display report output from query views in web template T2.
The problem we are facing is to decide the appropriate place where this type of condition could be coded. We do not think user exit would do the job here.
Please help if you can.

Let me please clarify my problem further.
Web Template T1 --> Query Views V1, V2, V3.
(All query views V1, V2, V3 have variables on fields F1 and F2).
Web Template T2 --> Same Query Views V1, V2, V3.
(All query views V1, V2, V3 have variables on fields F1 and F2 but this time variables would be having different values than above).
If user enters values for both fields F1 and F2, then we want to display Template T1 with F1 variable = "value by user" and F2 variable = "value by user".
If user enters value for only field F1, then we want to display Template T2 with F1 variable = "value by user" and F2 variable = "all values for which transaction data exist".
Thus, we want to display a unique web template based on whether the value of F2 is entered by user or not.

How to create a voltage output based on an ultrasonic sensor input

For a school project we are trying to use an ultrasonic sensor to control the voltage sent to a group of leds. We calibrated the sensor and determined six different voltage levels that we wished to output to the leds based on the voltage input to the sensor. We set up a labview program and were going use one of the mathnodes that allows code to be written to send a signal to a case structure to send the output voltage. Each case has a different output voltage associated with it. We can't seem to get the math node to work with the case structure to get an output. I have attached a screen shot of our block diagram and a copy of our .vi file. If anyone has any input it would be appreciated.

Hello,
Have you used highlight execution or probes to confirm the output of the Mathscript node? Also, though LabVIEW is coercing your output, it is not best practice to wire a double (floating point) to a case structure (discrete cases). I would recommend changing the data type to an integer.

STO - Generating an Output based on the Plant

Hello
I do have a requirement to generate an Output(EDI) based on the Plant to which the material is being delivered to. The condition record that I have in place(Configured via M/59) is Doc. Type/P.Org/P.group/Supplying Plant/Plant. In the list of available fields, i see both Supplying plant as well as Plant. Access sequence and MN04 condition records have been maintained. Likewise an output device has also been maintained. The Q's i have are -
1. Have any of you had such a requirment( to use the Plant)?
2. Plant is at item level and what should happen if the plant in the STO is different at the item level.
3. SAP have also provided Material, which again is at the item level. What is the logic behind such?
