Different CONFIG in the same application

Hi,
I am quite new on Forms World and I am having some problems on using the
Forms configuration below listed. Can anyone help me on this issue?
I have:
* http://mydomain.com/forms/frmservlet?config=application1
This address open my application without any problems!
* http://mydomain.com/forms/frmservlet?config=application2
This address also open my application without any problems!
But, I need, from the first application string (http://mydomain.com/forms/frmservlet?config=application1), to call one particular FORM using the config=application2 .
How can I do that?

I don't believe there is a native way to do this in Forms.
Please correct me if I am wrong but I think:
You can use the web.show_document method but this would not be the same as using call_form or any of the other built-ins. As long as you don't need access to any :global's created by the calling form inside the called form and vice versa you should be ok. This will also require you to login a second time if the username isn't specified in the 2nd config unless you have programmed the form to not require a database connection or it connects on it's own.

I use the same applications for work, entertainment and other personal activities, so it's impossible to simply assign different apps to different desktops/spaces. Thus, I have open windows of the same programs (Pages, TextEdit, Preview) arranged on several desktops. If I reboot my laptop, the windows are just crammed on Desktop 1. Can something be done about it?

many thanks for your efforts and your time (preparing and posting the screenshot, answering to this question,...).
Unfortunately, moving the focus to the next window only works with windows on the same desktop.
btw, using a german keyboard layout and german language settings the shortcut is "cmd+<".
I can switch with this shortcut between different windows of my Safari which reside on the same desktop, but I cannot swith between different safari windows distributed over several desktops.

OC4Js on different servers sharing the same application

Does anyone have some suggestions to how I can get non-clustered mid-tier OC4Js to share the same application stored on a shared NFS mount?
Right now, what I've done is created the OCJ4_Dev1 on mid1 and OC4J_Dev2 on mid2, then changed their server properties for application and application deployments to point to the shared NFS, but different directories.
Is there some way they can use the same directory? I can think of a number of ways of doing this with links etc, but maybe has some better ideas? Basically, I want the same "source" for two different OC4Js, but without confusing the instance configurations.

I think there are many options around this, but a simple way I managed it was to have 2 windows accounts,and each with a different iTunes library. I think you can now share multiple libraries on the one account, I'm sure there's an answer in the support pages here.

How can i deploy two different versions of the same application on the same server??

I have two different versions of an application. One is a released version. And another version under development. I need to port this version of the application to the same server. I'm using the same classes and packages(except for some new ones). Is it sufficient if i change the name of my ear(application name). Or should i change my code also.

Using 2 different JREs on the same application

I have my java application which must use JRE java1.5. It is mandatory.
However, for just one fonctionnality, I want to use JRE java1.6 which have a bug fixed on a given class method.
Is there a way to use both JREs one same application?
Can I indicate that, for calling the corrected method, I want to use JRE 1.6 instead of the default JRE of the project (Java 1.5)?

The latest version available is 5.0.1
If it's 5.0.1, your currently installed copy of Pages is up to date.

Is there a suggested method for multiple developers to share the same application module? We have 2 developers that will have EOs in the same directory and would like to know how they can share an application module but do development on different pieces of a project.

Try using CVS or any other source control system. Still there are some points to think about before doing big projects, because there are many files which are updated by JDEV without knowledge by the developer. This causes many conflicts using a version control system like CVS.
If you developers both are working on the server part of the application, I suggest using multiple application modules. See this blogs:

Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:

Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads

There is no simple way to do it, as itunes wont let you use it on another computer without wiping the contents first.
However if you really want to transfer songs to another computer then you could try this;
* make sure that your ipod is accessible as a disk drive (ipod options)
* when you plug your ipod into the computer you want to transfer to make sure you select "no" or "cancel" when it asks to wipe the contents. Leave the ipod connected and quit from itunes.
* go to "my computer" and access the ipod directly. You probably have to select "view hidden files" from windows. You will see a lot of folders with odd names like ZX838aff with similar named files inside.
* copy these files to a folder on your computers hardrive. Now remove the ipod and start itunes.
* import the files from the folder you made in the last step.
* Now your music is on itunes, but with unrecogisable names.
This is the only way I have found to do it, but there may be another way, say with an application to do the hard work for you.

Hi, here's a question:
How can I share the home folder with different accounts on the same mac?
The whole point being not to have to install all my apps, and move all my files each time between users.
The second thing would be to be able to modify one document on one account, and have it changed on the other account without having to copy it.
I would like to have a pro and a private account on my mac.

Your apps should not be installed in your home folder--they should be in /Applications where every user can access them.
If you want to share things between users on the same Mac, use the /Users/Shared folder. Keep your home folder private. Trying to defeat the protections on the home folder subfolders just gets messy. I've never bothered to figure out all of the problems associated with it so I can't explain how to do it.
Even with using Shared, you would need to alter the ACLs on the shared folder in order to allow both users to modify the documents.
You must create a Group in Users & Groups and put each user in that group. Then create a folder inside /Users/Shared where you want to share the various files.
Then, add an ACL to the shared folder that gives the group special permissions. on that folder.
sudo chmod -R +a "<sharinggroup> allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,add_subdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directory_inherit" /Users/Shared/<sharing folder>
Replace <sharinggroup> and <sharingfolder> with the name of your group and your folder. Then, run the command in the Terminal.
With that ACL, each user in <sharinggroup> will be able to alter the files created by any user in the group in that <sharingfolder>.
Essentially, the client OS is not designed for true file sharing among the individual users. It is designed to isolate each user account from the others.

I have 2 different accounts at the same websites. Whenever I go to that website, one of my usernames prefills the UN field and I can't access the other account. I cannot overwrite my pre-filled username. Ideas?

I have 2 different accounts at the same websites. Whenever I go to that website, one of my two user names (always the same one) pre-fills the user-name field and I can't access the other account. The website rightfully rejects my password. I cannot overwrite my pre-filled user-name because the second I hit enter to logon, the original user-name rewrites itself into it's field. Neither of the user names is being saved by firefox anywhere in the "tools"; Options, security, advanced or privacy menu fields.
I did notice that that website has installed a cookie onto my computer called "_rememberme" which contains the user-name that is plaguing me.
This is a website that I access for very sensitive and important information and I must have both accounts accessible at different times.

You can disable the automatic fill of a name and password.

To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

How to find out multiple instances of the same application

Please help me with your Java Networking expertise.
Is there any way you could suggest where we could know how many instances of the same application is running in a network ?
Sending a UDP packet would require to specify the destination of the machine's IP address.
But when the same application is installed in two different machines, at run time both the instances should be able to communicate dynamically. Is there any way I can send a signal(packet) that should be picked up by the other application instance ? Both the machine are in the same network.

I guess there are many ways to do it. One simple way would be to broadcast a mesage whenever an instance starts up. Other running instances can then communicate back to it.

Password cache - for user identity that share the same application server

When I create a password cache entry for an an application server I have to be specified the User identity for the application server. Is there a way to indicate multiple User identity in order to avoid to create different entry (one for each user identity)?

No. An SGD user can only have a single username for an application server.
There may be a way to craft a solution:
- create several ENS application server objects pointing to the same real application server
- cache different usernames against each ENS application server
- create multiple, identical application objects, assigning a different application server to each, OR
- create a single application object and assign all the ENS servers to it, along with the "SGD Broker" for dynamic launch.

How to update 2 datagrids in 2 different app at the same time?

I'm very new to flex/flash builder and my question is: first I have to explain how the applications works. The first applications have a form for a customer to fill and datagrid to show the results.The data is send using PHP to a database in the server. The second application have a datagrid for the admin that show the data that the first application send. Now, when the data is inserted in the database, the first application dataGrid show the result soon as the records are inserted in the database, but the second application show the records after I refresh the Browser. The second aplication have a delete button to clear records from the database as is obious, the firstt database needs to be refreshed in order to see if the record has been deleted. So what I need is that both applications update as soon as the database is altered.If anyone have a suggestion I appreciate very much thanks in advance.

Then, the time interval should be implemented in both applications since the first one inserts data and the second one delete the data. Instead of doing time interval I eliminate the second app and make 'states' in the first app for the 'add' and 'delete' data so I was able to open two instances of the app, one using the add state and the other with the delete state thinking that since was the same application both update at the same time but unfortunately I was wrong and one needs the browser refresh anyway. I really not know how to do time interval in flex since is different to flash that you just do the interval for the next frame and back to the first to load the data since is a timeline based app, flex not, besides, I'm just start using flex a couple weeks ago and don't know much about the coding but I will keep researching to do that.
