Different IP #'s required

If I'm reading the setup instructions for my AE correctly, the AE gets the IP # that was provided by my internet provider, and my MBP gets a different #? My DSL modem took a lightning strike along with the AE which had been working great for the last 6 mos and now after replacing both units I can't get on the internet with the AE connected...direct to the modem is fine though. AE displays green light all the time.

Think of the internet as a city in which the people are computers. If you want to send somebody a letter, you need to know their address. On the internet, IP addresses are used instead of street addresses. "123 Oak Street" identifies an exact location in a city, and "192.0.32.10" identifies an exact location on the internet.
Generally your ISP will give you one IP address. The exact address may change from time to time, but whenever it does change, your ISP will let your router (or computer, if it's directly connected to your modem) know. The router (or computer) will update its settings accordingly, so you won't have to worry about what your IP address happens to be. The protocol by which all of this takes place is known as Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, or DHCP.
Every computer connected to the internet needs an IP address, and two computers should not have the same address. So if you have more than one computer on your home network, it would appear that one IP address would not be sufficient to allow them all to connect to the internet.
Fortunately, routers take care of this problem for us. A router can use DHCP to give each computer on your network a unique "private" IP address. Going back to the city analogy, a network is like an office building. A private address would be something like "Room 123": to anyone in your office building, it identifies an exact location, but it's meaningless outside the office building. Private IP addresses generally start with "192.168" or "10.0", but a few other prefixes are also used. Inside your network, they identify your computer; outside your network, they are meaningless.
If the private IP addresses are meaningless outside your network, how can you communicate with computers outside your network? The router takes care of this using a process known as Network Address Translation (or NAT). A computer outside your network sends information addressed to your router's IP address, and the router routes the information to its intended destination (which it figures out by looking at the port number, a specific piece of the sent information).
This is why your computer may have a different IP address when connected to the modem than it does when connected to your AirPort: the AirPort is just doing its job.
Of course, if you can't connect to the internet, the AirPort may not be doing its job. It's also possible that the Express is doing a job, but not the right job.
AirPorts can be configured to use DHCP and NAT, just DHCP, or neither of them. Given your network setup, your Express needs to be using DHCP and NAT. You might want to check that your Express is configured to do so:
Open AirPort Utility and select your Express in the sidebar. Press "Manual Setup" and authenticate if necessary. Select "Internet" in the toolbar. For "Connection Sharing," you should have "Share a public IP address" selected.

    The Customer sents the requirement ( Like specially manufactured products as per the customer specifications) which can be entered in the form an Inquiry. With ref. to this inquiry a quotation will be sent to the customer. The customer places an order thru document with reference to this quotation.
    Now the company processes the order and manufactures the Product and delivers the Product to the Customer and recieves the payment.

  • Validating different sets of required attributes in an XML schema.

    My requirement is to validate an xml with two different validation strategies. In strategy 1, the xml is required to have several instances of an element with certain required attributes. In strategy 2, the xml is required to have several instances of the same element with different required attributes. So, the idea is that there are two different sets of the same element with different set of required attributes for each set. Is there a way to validate this with using only one xsd. My only solution so far is to use two different xsd files to validate. Thank you.

    Eg: when do the GR,the PPV account should be 3528***, but when do the IR, the PPV account should be 3522***.

  • Smart forms--In different pages i require two different main windows

    In one smartform, I am having two pages. and two pages are having different formats
    First page will print repeatedly till the completion of main window1.
    Now i want to add another main window(2) to second page, it will also should print repeatedly till the completeion of main window(2).
    But in first page main window contains 5 coloumns with subtotal
    in second page main window contains 3 columns without subtotal
    Both main windows are using same internal table.
    can anybody help me in this issue.
    If i copy first page main window into second page as main window with diferrent name, then it is showing blank window with out any text why?

    Try to do it like this, separate the data in internal table to two different tables, since data should be printed on two different formats...
    Design two page in your smartform according to the requirment. now goto first page and set the next page as FIRST
    now goto second page that you have created and set the next page as SECOND.
    loop the first internal table in first page and once all the entries are finished, try to goto second page for doing this place command and tick the check box in command, goto next page and select the page as Second...
    I guess this will solve your issue.

  • Different Storage Location required for RGA

    Hi,
    My requirement is that whenever Returns is done for SO, different Storage location should default, which is currently not happening.
    For ex - Standard Storage location(0001) is determined whenever SO is created but we want that different storage location(say 0096 which is created for Returns) should be determined whenever Returns is created.
    For these I have made the following config settings :
    Defined 1000(Shipping Point Std) which is assigned to Plant(BPX1)
    Also 1100(Shipping Point for Returns) is assigned to Plant(BPX1)
    Storage loc (0001- std) is assigned to Plant(BPX1) and warehouse no (BP1)
    Storage loc (0096 - for Returns) is assigned to Plant(BPX1) and Warehouse no (BP1)
    In OVL3 following settings done:
    Shipping Point (1000) , Plant (BPX1) than storage loc - 0001(Std)
    Shipping Point (1100) , Plant (BPX1) than storage loc - 0096(Returns)
    Still when we are creating returns storage loc 0001 is defaulting in Returns and NOT 0096 (Which is my requirement).
    Kindly advise which config settings are still missing to determine 0096 storage loc in RGA.

  • Different JRE Version requirements

    I apologize in advance if this has been posted and answered already; I couldn't find the right combination of keywords to locate it...
    The company I work for has two large partners that it works closely with. One of these partners Java programs require JRE 1.4.2 the other company's programs require at least JRE 1.5. To this point we have not been able to find any way to direct company A's java programs to use JRE 1.4.2 and company B's programs to use JRE 1.5 on the same computer. This has required that certain people be setup for company A and other people be setup for company B. Is it possible to force these programs to use the version of Java they're looking for on the same computer?
    In one case these programs are a mix of Java applets and JNLPs, while in the other they are all Java applets.

    Try it and see, I've ran earlier version bytecode on new releases and also compiled old source on new JDK's without any problems before, but then your app is not my app and you may have used something or combinations of somethings that nobody else ever has and it yacks on you.
    Never know until you try it.
    BTW: I'm still running some of my 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, and 1.2 code on 1.6 no problems, but then not all of it is rocket science either.

    In the sale order, maintain the item text by going to the sale order line item. In the invoice smartform you have to write the code to pick up the text and print against description. If text is not found then material description can be printed. I am assuming that you need more that 40 character length.
    Otherwise, you can directly change the material description in the sale order (which doesnt have any impact on the material master) and in the smartfrom you can pick up this field rather than fetching the material description from the material master.

  • Currency in Rebate Agreement is different to Curr. required for Credit Memo

    Hello!
    I have a question regarding Rebate Agreements.
    We have clients with whom we have Rebate Agreements in USD, but clients are chilean so the Credit Memo is meant to be in Chilean Pesos. But there is apparently no possiblity to change the currency neither in Credit Memo Request neither in Credit Memo. The Chilean Financial Institute does not allow Credit Memo Document issued in USD, it has to be in Chilean Pesos!
    Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

    First of all maintain currency conversion in OBO8  . Now when you settle the rebate agreement then go to Credit memo order (change mode)  and in item data ->conditions tab change the currency then automatically the value will also change and the same value will flow to the Credit memo billing document and then you can forward it to FI.

  • Different project users require different default dashboards.

    The OBI system has two projects, maybe more in future, with distinct sets of users. I need to set the default dashboard, dependent on which project they belong to, so that they do not have to go 'My account' >> 'default dashboard' on initial login. The user list is held externally in an Oracle database table. each user is a member of a 'group', 'group' can be linked to project in the table if necessary.
    How can I do this?

    We have a similar situation with the users list in Active Directory. So we set up groups in Active Directory like App A Users, App A Dev, App B Users, App B Dev, etc. We assigned Active Directory members to their respective application groups and then got the list of users and groups into an external table using an LDAP query. The we set up a session initialization block for the GROUP session variable based on user id, to read the GROUP values from the external table.
    Then in Presentation Services Administration --> Manage Interactive Dasdhboards, we assigned the permissions of the dashboard to the groups that needed them. So when a user logs in, he will see only the dashboard to which he has either Read or Full Control permission.

    You can create multiple parameters which will get data from datasets(SQL query to get data from DB).
    In report tablix control, you can set the Interactive sorting  on columns as shown in below screen:-

  • Excise invoice printing is required in preprinted stationary format.

    Dear All,
    I developed a new program & script for excise invoice printing. The requirement is as under: Page layout will be such where 10 line items( as maintained in billing document) can be printed in each page i.e. if billing document have 25 line items (including Finished goods & accessories) , so it should be printed in 3 pages. In each pages,  page no should be printed first, then consignee address, customer address, Date, SO number, Tin no etc. Those above details should come in header portion of each page. Then first 10 line items can be printed. If there are more line items, then next 10 items get printed in next page & so on. In the very last page only assessable amount, Tax, VAT, Educes amt & Gross amt along with Excise number, removal time, type if invoice, payment mode etc (in footer section) should be printed. If billing document have only 10 line items, it will be printed in a single page.
    I have declared First page & next page only. In each page I have declared required page window according to window size of preprinted stationary format. For that I have used DINA4 page format( size 210 / 297 MM). But actual height of stationary format is 12 inch ( 305 MM).
    In print preview it is displaying supereb. All required data is being displayed properly. But when I am taking printout from Dot-matrix printer, from second page onwards it start printing two lines prior to actual position (two lines going up).
    I did some permutation to adjust it. But I can not find a proper resolution to it. My thinking is that it is only printer setting problem. Also in PC level in printer setting I used custom paper size declaring actual paper width & height.
    Please advise whether it is script/ program problem or printer setting problem.

    Dear Bapujee/Santosh/Srimanta,
    I know this is a very peculiar problem. Actually the SAP paper size definations are over-ruled by spool server's print manager's defination i.e. the setting of the PC's finally works.
    Simple solution is create a paper size in the PC and set the printer with the new paper size.
    Now, you will encounter another problem. The user may using the printer for other paper size printings also. To avoid the changing of PC's paper size every time the user prints different size, you can adopt this :
    In the spool server (i.e. the PC with printer), create different printers with required paper size and name this printer with some meaniful names. Now, in R/3, while printing with LOCL output device the user can select the required printer.
    This can be done for network printers also.

  • How to configure different listener for each database in 11gR2 RAC

    Current Prod Setup :
    11gR2 (11.2..0.2) RAC on RHEL 5.5 with 3 SCAN Listeners on default 1521 port.
    Having 4 databases which are using SCAN-IP and listening on default port only.
    As per policy, we have to create separate listeners (on different port) for each database.
    like,
    DB1 - 1522
    DB2 - 1523
    DB3 - 1524
    DB4 - 1525
    Even If I configure 4 listeners using NETCA, how my failover & load balancing will happen using SCAN & Newly Created Listeners ???

    Actually different ports for different databases are required to have separation of duties. Once Firewall enabled betwen Client & DB Server only privileged users would have access to particular database.

    ABAP query
    Whenever Developers or Functional Consultants need to generate reports without doing any ABAP coding in a quick span of time, we take the help of ABAP Queries. Sometimes, we require data to test our program. In such cases, we have to get records from different tables that satisfy our requirement, say, requirement which needs invoices whose value is greater than 1000 and order reason free of charge sample (105).
    The whole process comprises of three steps.
    1)Creation of user group
    2)Creation of infoset
    3)Creation of queries
    The transaction codes associated with ABAP Query are
    SQ01 - ABAP Query
    SQ02 - Infoset
    SQ03 - User group.
    ABAP query is used when we just want to fetch the data from the database tables and display them. We cant do any calculation or data manipulation by using query.
    The basic concept of ABAP query is that of views in programing.
    It is something similar to our database with the values.
    About the programing logic u have asked:
    The requirement u have said is not correct as you haven't mentioned whether the date is PO date or PR date.Anywayz i will explain the logic.
    The logic is like we will do the selection as per the input fields in the database tables.
    For example in the case u have asked, initially we will do the filtering in the purchase requisition table EBAN with the date range in the input.
    Then we will be having many values. Then we will do the filtering using the field plant WERKS in EBAN using a select statement.
    Thus the data with us will be getting smaller.Next with the material group and so on.
    After the selection from the requisition table EBAN, we need the purchase order details.
    In the purchase order item detail table EKPO and the requisition table EBAN, we have the common field, the requisition number.
    Now we will get all the details available from the EKPO table by filtering with the requisition number.Since the vendor details are stored at the header level in a purchase order, we will fetch the data from EKKO table ie the purchasing document header table using the purchase order number as that is the common field in the tables EKKO and EKPO.
    Now moving on to the Goods receipt area, the tables are MKPF for header details and MSEG for material document item.
    The purchase order number will be the field with which we select the required information from those tables.ANd thus go on.
